Earl Grey & Cucumber

This is one of the best citruses I have smelled. And I have smelled a lot. I usually don't like the perfumes where the citrus is the main character. For example, I sold my Le Labo Limette (San Fran exclusive) because it was too zesty, I sold my FM Bigarade Concentree because the bitter oranges were too overpowering and made it hard to distinguish other notes. I got rid of my Eau de Sisley 2, House of Oud Live in Colors, because again - the bergamot and grapefruits were too strong to my liking. I could not like even Zoologist Macaque Yuzu. At the end, this citrus is one of the only ones that I am keeping. It's green, light, slightly fresh, very sheer and transparent. It's not overpowering, it has tea-like watery qualities, it does not steal the stage. It is just beautiful and very well-balanced and is only heard in the background. Cucumber and vanilla are the most dominant notes for me. Beeswax is there to support the sweetness too. The cucumber is not spicy, not "dill-like" unlike Santal 33, it's not overly fresh or masculine. It is rather light and is simply there as a heart note to add an edgy vegetative nature and watery quality. The perfume is not marine and does not stink of seaweed, it is rather fresh, Mediterranean, and reminds me of gardens with bergamot somewhere not far from a shore. It's beautiful! I am keeping it permanently in my collection! My next cucumbers to try on the wish list are Kilian's roses on ice and bond no 9 wall street.

Earl Grey is my favourite tea. I take it steeped just a tiny bit too long in scalding hot water with a bit of honey, no sugar, no milk. And oh my god everytime I have a cuppa I always think to myself I wanna sink into a whole steaming bathtub of this because of how amazing it smells. Well, this perfume comes pretty close with what I imagine that experience would be. I don't really know what the notes stated above are all about but I guess the combination of them somehow creates an accord that brings Earl Grey so clearly to mind. It's pretty genius. It smells exactly like Earl Grey with the bitter black tea leaves and that tangy bergamot (I don't get much of the cucumber at all though). And there's nothing lactonic or sugary about it either. It's just that plain old Earl Grey tea, exactly how I take it. It's unmistakable. It's brilliant. It's fucken awesome. I love it. The only downside is, it's a cologne concentration and it's Jo Malone so the longevity and overall performance isn't that great. If someone somewhere makes a parfum or even an extrait concentration of this juice, I would snatch it up immediately. That's how much I love this scent. In the meantime though, I will definitely always have this in my collection. It's a staple. I love putting this on in the morning and have it energize me the way a cup of Earl Grey would. I'll probably buy a big 100ml bottle after I'm done with this little 30ml one.

One of the most beautiful Jo Malone scents, I really wonder why this is one of the underdogs in their permanent lineup and not talked about more. Maybe it's the name, cucumber might sound off-putting, as it can easily cross over into an unpleasant pickle smell. Fear not, this doesn't smell like pickles, not even like a fresh cucumber. Instead it is a soft, fluffy, creamy, but also powdery, slightly sweet and slightly fresh dream of a tea scent. It has a prominent base of vanilla and musk, so it doesn't just fade away like other citrus and tea fragrances do, but melts beautifully into the skin as it dries down. The Earl Grey tea and angelica are always present though, the bitterness and green notes keep the scent fresh and not too gourmandish. I don't get the beeswax note at all. This reminds me of a lighter, more casual version of Guerlain Angelique Noire, or a better, more realistically tea-like Teazzura. It also has a lot in common with Sylvaine Delacourte's Smeraldo, but with added vanilla. This is the perfect mix of a green vanilla, a fluffy white musk and a summery tea scent. I love all of these fragrance subgenres on their own, it's no surprise I also adore Earl Grey & Cucumber.

The opening of this scent is beautiful. It is true, refreshing and citrusy bergamot with the watery cucumber note and the slight earthiness of black tea (not a note but the combination really exudes this essence). It is ever so slightly floral adding a little warmth and sweetness to the tea concept. On me personally, I don't get the apple but as it begins to settle the musk starts to develop ever so slightly. I do eventually get the dry down that others were mentioning about the baby powder smell. I don't hate it but wish that it remained tea centered because the opening is so great but doesn't hang around too long.It is still a refreshing and classy-casual scent but changes fairly quickly. After maybe 2 hours, the powdery/beeswax scent dissipates and returns to a bit of a fresh scent just mildly evocative of elizabeth arden green tea but wears very close to the skin. I may give it a few more tests in different seasons to see how it reacts.

One of the older and underrated Jo Malone. Opens up with blasting bergamot and a hint of black tea, after around 30 minutes it softens/tones down just a little bit maybe from the cucumber - still fresh but more "watery" if that makes sense and ends with a light fresh musk scent. Projects as well as the other average JM colognes (in terms of projection of JM colognes, I classify Honeysuckle & Davana and Mimosa & Cardamom in the above average range, anything less than those two is considered average). I just picked this up last week and this has been my daily cologne now. I drink a cup of earl grey tea before bed and wearing this cologne just makes what is merely routine more enjoyable. It is unusual to wear a citrusy scent before bed but wearing this down makes me feel more positive. Cannot wait for spring and summer so I can test how it performs on my skin under the sun.

My go to , ordered a few bottles as I never want to be without it. I wear this daily but often mix it up with blackberry and bay , wood sage and se salt and nectarine and honey. Those are my 3 favourite combos of Jo Malone. Earl grey and cucumber is quite unique. It actually smells like earl grey with some milk and a dash of sugar. Exactly like that. It’s quite musky and has a strong tea note. Totally unusual and special it’s slightly powdery a little bitter , a tiny citrus ,sweet and airy , it’s a fresh , refreshing treat and I want to fill my whole bathtub with this one . It’s COMPFORT in a bottle. Makes you feel great. It starts musky ,clean, refreshing , hazy and aromatic then goes cozy and woody ,warm vanillic. It’s almost 10 years old and I hope it will always be part of the regular permanent collection. Jo Malone’s just scream “ natural “ love that !!!

The tea is noticeable right away. Smells like a tea soaked cloth because of the background floral notes. The cucumber is there but mixed in with the bergamot to come across as citrusy. I imagine a cool morning (spring or fall), waking up with a room temperature cup of tea with a slice of lemon on the side of the cup. Maybe in a cabin by the beach because of the airy/watery combined with the cedar that gives it a backdrop of very light woods. It’s refreshing and uplifting, but it’s a foggy morning type of way. You’re the first one up and waiting for others to rise so you can start your day. The dry down still has the tea coming through and is a bit musky. It's nice. A relaxing fragrance, especially when the weather isn't so nice. A great one to wear when you're staying in and maybe reading a book.

Edited Review: I was haunted all day by what I thought was a warm cup of coffee with milk. Every where I went, I smelled it. Turns out, there was not coffee. Just this fragrance on me. I smelled like a warm cup of tea with milk. And it was rather comforting for a day like today. Original Review: This is just a fun/novelty scent to have. Not a strong love for me with this one. It has the draw of earl grey, and you can definitely smell it. But because mixed with the citrus notes, it just smells a lot like sweet flavored tea you get out from a Harney & Sons tea box. I was hoping it would go for a more dry woody smell, less sweet. I think Jo Malone should experiment a bit more with tea as it does fit with their brand.

This is probably the most comforting scent I've ever smelled. It smells how I imagine Mother Goose would smell. It's warm, soft, cozy, bright, fresh and relaxing. When I wear this all I want to do is get comfortable on the couch with a big warm blanket and have a movie day with a cat purring at my feet. It can be worn any time of day in any season. I would say it leans slightly feminine but it can be worn by anyone and it would smell great on them. It's very nice, inoffensive and inviting. I don't think it would be a love for everyone, but it's definitely worth a sniff if you're into perfume that smells like tea. This one does actually smell like sweet earl grey tea.

I just bought the 30ml bottle after testing several samples. It's beautiful. To my nose, it opens with a fresh blast of crispy fresh cucumber and then dries down to a wonderful earl grey tea, which is my favorite flavor of tea. It's addictive. I just love it. Longevity for such a light and fresh scent is actually quite good on my skin. I got 7 hours before I had to refresh and it projected pretty well for the first 3-4 hours before sitting closer to the skin. If you love the scent of a freshly steeped cup of earl grey, chances are you'll love this one, too. Scent : 10/10 Longevity : 7.5/10 Projection : 8/10 Sillage : 7/10 Overall : 8.5/10

Light but spicy, deep but refreshing. Earl grey and cucumber is a bit of a contradiction! I personally love this scent, I really get the citrus through the bergamot and the soft sweetness of the vanilla but then there is a freshness about it which brings everything together and a spiciness that I love. It is obviously quite hard for me to describe due to its complexity. As an earl grey tea drinker, I find this hard to dislike in any way. A scent that I could easily wear from Summer through to Winter and either day or night. It is just lovely, I would recommend that you give it a try.

This is my favorite jo Malone scent at the moment red roses remains a firm fave too but recently I have become obsessed with this. If you like the way earl grey tea smells then you will like this. It smells like true bergamot. It has a powdery smell and it is so sweet and feminine without being overtly sexy. I could spray it and go to bed in it I’m obsessed. It’s comforting like a cup of tea but also bright. It layers with other scents well lifting heavier scents. I need to see if they have a lotion since jo Malone never lasts long but the lotions really do

There is a heavy dose of bergamot at first, but it dissipates within 20 minutes. I don't smell any cucumber or cucumber sandwiches. If there is cucumber here, it is not realistic. Luckily when this dries down, it smells like black tea with milk. The beeswax is very pronounced. I love it! It also smells a lot like honey-coated wheat flakes with milk. This was not high tea in a bottle as I hoped it would be, but it's a creamy and simple tea. Sometimes I think it smells like powdered milk and sugar. Will be great for layering with other Jo Malone perfumes.

This is a can't go wrong scent, It's delicate, fresh, fun, sparkling, uplifting all in one, the SA @ Nord's recommended I try it layered with the Nectarine Blossom beings I already own that...&& Omg I fell in love I was catching subtle wiffs of it as I continued walking through the mall && could not stop smelling my arm, it paired so well && gave me a happy feeling when I smelled it...&& well you can't go wrong with that, now I want it so I can layer...try it out && try that layering pair out as well. :)

I love all Jo Malone fragrances but I have always been disappointed about their longevity. This one, however, is the one for me!! The smell is sophisticated : I don't detect much cucumber but I get a lot of tea and something flowery. Another plus: compared to other JM I have, it lasted more than 5 hours (for the price it should last longer imo). Also, when combined with JM Blue agava and cacao it gives a deeper and elegant touch. Love it !!

I love the scent, smells exactly like a cup of Earl Grey Tea with some musk and sweetness that is just gorgeous. However, there is no lasting power. None. At all. Fragrance lasts fairly well on my skin but this one just doesn’t. After an hour, I can’t even smell it where I applied. It just vanishes. Its not one I would repurchase or recommend others to purchase. Such a shame because it really is a beautiful scent.

Love at first whiff. Exceptionally beautiful, clean, fresh, sweet, and classy. No note stands out for me, Earl Grey & Cucumber is so well-blended. Very versatile. Good for people who need a subtle fragrance for office or church, or who don't like strong fragrances. Lasts reasonably well for a subtle fragrance, makes you feel fresh all day, though it stays close to the skin. Full bottle worthy for me.

Beautiful! Best tea fragrance I've smelled. It's like sipping a freshly brewed cup of Earl Grey tea, breathing in the fragrant steam with a touch of fresh honey comb. I really love this one. This is my second favorite in the line. Surprisingly it really projects and lasts a long time. I love it best in the evening after a long hot bath. So relaxing!

Earl Grey and Cucumber is my signature fragrance. It is absolutely amazing. It's clean and fresh and dries down soft and elegant and lasts for hours on me. It's really inoffensive and perfect for an office environment. I've developed allergies over the years and have had to give up many fragrances but I can wear this with no worries.

Beautiful clean and fresh scent. The first thing i get is the citrus, hinting at the Earl Grey tea. After about 10 minutes this mellows down and i can smell the jasmine. Not sure if i get something soapy but in a nice way. I dont really get the cucumber in there but overall it's one of my favourite Jo Malones.
