Fig & Lotus Flower

I absolutely love this scent! I bought it a few weeks ago as spring set in hoping it would satisfy my craving for the ultimate fresh slightly aquatic scent I've been searching for for hot Australian summers. I've tested sooo many scents and finally this is the one that hits the spot. I've worn it a few times and I must say it's perfect. It's definitely fresh, aquatic, green from fig leaf, crisp, it feels very cooling and clean and makes me feel put together. It's not sweet which is nice for hot weather and I would describe it as a zingy or zesty kind of a vibe. It feels laid back and casual and yet I think it's sophisticated enough to wear anywhere however for me it'll be a day time scent. I think it leans feminine but a male could definitely wear it. It's not a loud scent but it's there, I can smell it smell it most of the day. On me it lasts 4-6 hours which is good for a freshie in hot weather. It also stays on clothes for a long time. It's performance is impressive for a Jo Malone cologne which I've found to be hit or miss. Also when it's hot it's the type of perfume I enjoy spraying to touch up through the day because it smells so fresh and uplifting Love it ✨️ 🍃 10/10

Oh, hello, beautiful. This fragrance is an adventure and a half. Right off the bat, she's juicy. I almost get the smell of a ripe apple, and the scent is something I can almost taste, makes my mouth water. This scent is wet, fertile, fresh, lush (like springy moss after a spring rain), and very green forward. The juicy vibe stays with it all throughout the wear. This scent feels like medicine. It feels like a wealthy single woman who whiles away her days meditating, going to pilates classes, taking care of her little purebred dogs, wearing cashmere sweaters, and taking dance classes in upscale neighborhoods. It is a very crisp, direct scent that feels like security, comfort, self-assurance, and confidence. It is so quenching, it feels like taking a shower in a waterfall. Having it on the skin is an adventure as well. The way it trails up in a refreshing way every now and then is beautiful. It definitely feels like a soothing pick-me-up and embodies the relaxing, affluent life I dream of! I will be saving this one for special occasions-- like when *I* go to pilates or do group meditations. I want to keep this one special!

A clean, earthy floral fragrance that uplifts instantly and then settles into a grounding aroma that wraps around you in comfort. The floral note is light and intoxicating without ever becoming heavy — nothing like wet lotus flowers dripping in dew. Instead, it’s airy, elegant, and quietly mysterious. It’s a transportive scent, shifting slightly as it wears but always maintaining a fresh clarity without drifting into soapy territory. It’s floral without being too floral, aquatic without being obnoxious, and somehow both simple and complex at the same time. There’s a uniqueness here that makes it easier to explain what it isn’t than what it is. On my skin, this scent lasts. I can apply it in the evening and still wake up to that subtle, earthy‐lotus mystery lingering softly. It’s the kind of fragrance that keeps you coming back for another breath — not because it shouts, but because it whispers something you want to understand. I do love a good base note of vetiver. Top three of my Jo Malone scents. Just reordered.

Opens with light fruity fig (and slight coconut?), then the lotus flower and more aquatic notes get introduced. This isn't sweet or super fruity either, just overall very fresh with slight green / floral notes. Nothing is sharp or bitter, just fresh and light! :) Would be great to wear this during summer or spring! Unfortunately, longevity isn't great on me, but honestly, that's to be expected with Jo Malone. If you like Diptyque's Philosykos, I'm sure you'll like this! I would say this is more floral and has more fig in it than Philosykos. Philosykos is more green and earthy too, with the leaf and tree bark notes, nonetheless, they're both pretty similar. I prefer Fig & Lotus Flower, personally. This smells really good layered with NEST's Indigo! Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 3/10 Sillage: 5/10 Price: 4/10 School & Work Friendly! Would not recommend a blind buy if you are looking for something super fruity and juicy! Get this if you like light green / fresh scents, instead! Yours Truly, Yuzu 🍊

This is a beautiful Fig fragrance. Initially when testing it, I found it very unisex but as the lotus flower develops, it could lean slightly on the feminine side. As with all Jo Malone fragrances, it comes at a hefty price tag. Initially I wasn’t planning to get it but you should have seen the ‘sad face’ my partner pulled... Thankfully I found it on sale at an outlet store on 30% off. For a truly MAGICAL scent, mix ‘Fig & Lotus Flower’ with ‘Wood Sage & Sea Salt’... that combination is simply dynamite!! I mix mine with ‘In St Tropez’ from Zara as it’s so similar to Wood Sage and only cost a fraction of the price.

I am holding on to the last lil corner of this fragrance that I have. I received this as a bday present three or more years ago and this is what helped me fall in love with the note of fig. This has been an absolute dream to wear. It is one of the stronger frags from this house IMO. I want to always have this in my collection but I am a sucker for a steal and not frequently inclined to spend $$$$ on frags so I am not sure I will repurchase right away. There are so many others I am dying to try. I love a unique scent. This is fresh and woody and sweet. Just lovely!

this is my favourite fragance but it's so expensive!!! I shower myself in it everytime I get a chance to sample it, the longevity on skin is quite good for a cologne (around 6 hours) but on my sweater lasted 48 hrs+ , it doesn't project much, but I don't care. It has the exact amount of fruity swetness, figgy dryness and freshness for me. I have ficco di amalfi and this is so much better, the fig here is not overpowerd by the citrus and the longevity is superior I'm continuosly on a haunt for decent sale on this to get it

That's funny reading the previous comment ;)))For me is exactly the opposite, I thought I didn't like fig until I tried this one. Not sure how lotus smells ,but it doesn't matter as I really mainly smell fresh fig leaves. But why i loved it -when I sprayed it on me I suddenly imagined autumn morning and paired it with a cup of espresso. I have actually smelled fig and coffee together at that moment. Sooo cozy !!!

I love sweet perfumes. But this is not a sweet perfume. This is why smell is unique to individuals. I don't know how to describe this but I just love how this smells. Its just so fresh in a zesty-lifts-you-up way. Like it totally perks you up. Because of how dismal the longevity is I can't justify paying that much for a bottle so I use mine sparingly. If I could I would use it all day everyday.

Beautiful tropical scent! Very refreshing! I can smell lots of fig (both fruit and leaves) with light coconut accord and some watery floral undertones (super green and soft ones). After applying it on my skin I can also detect some nice citrusy notes like lime or yuzu. For me it’s a cheerful summary perfume. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Light, fresh, very there green fig. To me it is sweet but it’s a gentle sweetness. Leans more feminine in my opinion. This is a fragrance you want to wear for yourself. Relaxing and comforting. I agree it’s a daytime fragrance but, to me, the fantasy is a breezy, spring/summer nighttime dinner at some kind of secluded resort.

I love this scent, it’s clean without being synthetic or overly straightforward. If I weren’t told it’s fig and lotus I would have a hard time guessing. It’s so fresh and aquatic and beautiful and one of the only scents I can stand on really hot Texas summer days. Just wish it had better longevity.

If Fern Gully had a signature smell, this would be it! It’s a bright green fruity, freshwater-aquatic floral with hints of wood. Perfectly unisex on my nose. I love wearing this before bed, it’s very dreamy and clean.

Smells like drinking a very bitter tea, under a mossy tree in the rain, it is a complex scent, not for everyone, almost has an dark aura, but not in a bad way, in a good way. For the weird girls. Iykyk

I love Fig & Lotus Flower. This is not a sweet scent. Instead, it is crisp, green and a bit salty. Fig is a prominent note. Wearing this in the Spring, Summer and Fall will be a pleasure!

Fresh and clean, citrussy fig-scented water. Leans slightly minty, not sure where that note is coming from. Hot weather only, definitely should be reapplied during the day.

This is definitely the best one out of the entire line. Everything else is subpar and generic while this one stands out spectacularly. Love it.

Just got this and it's easily my favourite perfume I wear to the office. Not too loud, but will have you smelling fresh.

Masculine leaning unisex. Hard to describe, but I really liked this! It's kind of deep and dark, but also refreshing.

I loved this when I first visited a boutique. "This one is very popular among our male customers." Alright, bet. On paper it's sweetness was amazing to me. There was a slight woodiness (foreshadowing...) that I didn't mind. It lasted FOREVER on that paper, well over 24 hours, and it did not let up on its sweetness at all. I thought about it day and night (dramatic I know). I went back to grab a bottle of Verbenas of Provence because they were running out and got to encounter Fig and Lotus Flower again. Just as I remembered. 'I'll be back for you' I thought. When I did come back to buy it they were sold out, so I had to hunt it down in a Nordstrom. Once I went back home to smell Fig and Lotus Flower... it was more masculine than I had remembered. The sweetness quickly gave way to this cloying whatever that gave me a small headache. Was it because it was a new bottle? Was it mixed differently because it's a new batch? Why don't I love this anymore? It was truly heartbreaking. I don't hate it but I think I may have become way too exposed to it. It is quite a lot, though I get reminders of what once was after a few hours have passed on my skin. I find myself reaching for it less and less. Quite the relationship... I don't know if woody is the right word, or if it's heady. I can tell you right now that to me, this is NOT fruity. This is... I don't know. A less green and much more mean Wild Fig & Cassis.

Fig & Lotus Flower is, like many Jo Malone perfumes, exactly what it says on the tin. Although I used to enjoy it, I now have serious fig fatigue, so it can be difficult to remain impartial when reviewing fig scents. F&LF is not the best fig I've tried, being a simplistic, slightly aquatic take on this distinctive note. It is good-quality, but nothing groundbreaking - in fact, it is fairly redundant. F&LF is fig-dominant from initial spray, fleshy like the ripe fruit itself. Light, aquatic lotus flower follows, slightly sweet and dewy. However, it doesn't last, and it becomes a single-note fig scent for the remainder of its stay. There is a lactonic quality to the fig as it develops. It becomes musky as it fades, fig-dominant until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a spring/summer scent, unisex as long as you love fig. This is a very linear fig scent that resembles the fruit itself rather than the leaf or tree - this is not a green fig scent. Initially slightly aquatic, it becomes jammy and sweet with a lactonic edge, and musky as it fades. Nice, but no Philosykos. 3/5.

Soon after, it locks onto a watery lotus accord, and that’s where the magic happens: a serene, transparent freshness that feels natural rather than synthetic or “freshie-clean”. There’s a peaceful, almost meditative quality here; fluid, soft, and soothing, like still water reflecting morning light. Unfortunately, it’s also incredibly fragile; within an hour, it starts to fade, leaving only a faint memory on the skin. I genuinely loved it, but something stops me from committing to a full bottle; maybe because it slips away like a ghost, too much like water itself. The name is Fig & Lotus Flower, and what you will smell are fig and lotus. It is fresh, sweet, fruity, and floral, and it has those aquatic notes too. It's very pleasant and fresh to wear during hot days. I also get notes of shortbread, probably because I associate figs with those fig rolls. The performance is decent. The trail is moderate for a bit but then turns more intimate. It lasts for about 3-4 hours, but then it's too faint to really smell anything. And imo, it's a very feminine scent. I do believe, however, it is a bit overpriced for what you get. 7.5/10. It's a delicious smell, with a decent performance, but it is overpriced.

Um Jo, what are all those accords when there is supposedly only fig and lotus...? Initially this scent is a lovely freshie, hovers above the skin. lotus for me is usually aquatic, I dont find this so here. This feels like a more wet freshie, not laundry kind, rainforesty and bright for the top and mid. The fruitiness seems limey which I don’t like, I think that may be the fruits and woods mingling.. that’s in the dry down more though. This is lovely up top on me, though I’ve had enough of it by the dry down, if it stayed the same as top and mid it would be worth it. Longevity was good actually, 5+ hours on my hand. Fir JM that’s good.

This is really nice. A soft and sweet fig, IMHO. The lotus adds a fresh and clean vibe with a flowery softness. This could be a nice fig-frag entry. But if you want a little more bang for your buck (sillage and longevity) try the Hermès Jardin Mediterranee (price wise similar but with better performance) or Jil Sander Pop Green Fusion, which can still be found. PS: OK, have to admit - longevity is better than I initially thought. So maybe one could amp up the sillage with a few extra sprays:)

On its own this is just an ok summer scent but when layered with Philosykos it becomes spectacular. I can no longer just use this or Philosykos alone because it is just BETTER combined. It is somehow fresher but still creamy and woody. The lotus flower adds a nice touch. I also layer this with BBW Saltwater Breeze EDT and I can never wear that alone as well now. I am considering a full 30 ml bottle now and maybe even a 50 ml. bec it layers so well. Dang you JM for being so expensive😭

This is a similar fig as Poppy and Barley, except here it is spearminty and aquatic. For just two notes, it's kind of all over the place. Philosykos this is not. I just dont think Estee Lauder's JM does this note justice. Updated review: I'm changing this to a like. It grew on me during the hottest days of summer. I think it works better in the heat. There is a minty vibe that I didn't expect to work well with fig, but it makes it really refreshing and not too sweet.

The commenter below that said this reminds them of the Abercrombie store hit the nail on the head. I can't unthink that now whenever I smell it! It's such a gorgeous scent though, regardless! Fresh and bright Fig made slightly aquatic by the Lotus. But all in all, it smells very similar to the Abercrombie store. I believe they spray Fierce, which is interesting because they don't have the same notes at all. I still really enjoy this scent though, it's very lovely!

When I smelled a piece of wood from Jo Malone's display at a store scented with it, I thought: WOW! what an original, beautiful scent. However, on my skin it is quite different than this first impression. I'm surprised that it is rated as feminine/more female, because on me it smells quite masculine. Still a pleasant, original scent, but maybe I would prefer it on a man? Sillage is fine for me (not too much, not too little), longevity ok for a Jo Malone product.

skin test, better today thann last test. i like the top better than the end. end goes little flat, but is still ok. airy ozonic woody. not a linea scent which is fine. I wouldnt say this one has strictly fig and lotus - theres just more going on. from memory i think its a bit like Arden's green tea fig - probably lasts the same ... actully maybe im being mean. Got this because the fig notes in other perfumes are hard for me to process whether I like or not (cough womanity cough) and I wanted some counter examples of how to do watery/aquatic with fig. Starting to understand fig better. I really like this Jo Malone. People will universally label all Jo Malones as grandma scents and I'm realizing those people are just afraid to get old. It's not that bad y'all, and I'm enjoying a lot of Jo Malone in my forties

This is my very first Jo Malone purchase. I was always too scared to buy a Jo Malone because of the reputation of its performance, for being only a cologne. But, when I smelled this fragrance I just needed to buy a bottle. It's a very beautiful clean scent. One of my first complimented perfumes! The performance isn't great but it's not bad at all! Lasts a good 3-4 hours when I wear it, which is good enough for me. :)

I received a sample with a sample set of Jo Malone. I truly like--not love--this perfume. It is both sweet and floral, strong at first but then dries down to a smooth finish. Of course, being JM, it doesn't last. I spray JM perfumes on my clothes and hair just to get a prolonged scent. So . . . I like it, but will probably buy it only on sale at discount sites. Oh, by the way, it's not a fall scent.

Reminds me of being on the beach, it isn't a beach scent but the freshness is incredible. It smells clean so it's a perfect scent for the office or the middle of summer when a lot of fragrances become unbearable. As is mentioned a few times in the other reviews, it is definitely reminiscent of a cup of mint and coconut gelato but with an aquatic, floral note

Lovely smell, but very weak longevity and silage. I have perfumes that last way longer on my skin. The smell is intriguing, not sweet (which is a good thing in my book), very clean but a little fruity flowery. I can't break it down into separate scents, I just like it. Would I buy it? No, because of the way too high price point and the weak performance.

Going by the main accorrds you would guess that it leans feminine but is very much a green unisex scent. To me smells very fresh and minty . I don’t know exactly where that mintiness is coming from but I guess the rest of the notes are not being disclosed. I will keep it exclusively for layering as I find it to cologney for my taste.

I really like this. It’s a fresh and clean, not too sweet fig fragrance that reminds of me Le Labo’s The Matcha. Even though fig and lotus are the only notes (and maybe coconut) it’s not boring at all. It performs surprisingly well for a Jo Malone. Idk if it’s full bottle worthy but I thoroughly enjoyed my decant of it!

I have a sample of this and will be buying a full size. I don’t know how to fix the notes shown here but this definitely has a base of vetiver - listed on the Jo Malone site. It’s a fresh green mildly floral, mildly fruity (but sour fruit not sweet) scent that is close to the skin and great for a beautiful summer day.

I smelled this for the first time today on my coworker. In the air I picked up on the mint others mention, and guessed it might have Orris. It reminded me of De Los Santos which I love. Green, soft, pretty but unisex. This was all my first impression on her. I plan to pick up a sample so I can test it more in depth.

For me, this is one of only two green incenses that my nose will tolerate. This perfume feels like fresh, lush green perilla leaves to my nose. It's like Cherry Blossom (Flora Notis by Jill Stuart) without the floral fullness and with a touch of freshness. Very unisex, clean and vibrant.

Fresh, citrusy and a touch of light sweetness. This perfume is beautiful and clean. The lotus flower is original and blends well with the fig for a clean scent. No lasting power whatsoever and intimate projection. You will smell glorious for 30 mins.

Watery fig and lotus flower which is quite refreshing and well balanced. This is not my favorite fig fragrance but it is a decent one from Jo Malone. However, as we all know, there is no monster projection or longevity with this baby.

This is fresh, green, totally unisex realistic fig leaf scent, slightly sweet at the very beginning. Every lover of green sophisticated scents should give it a try, it would be very suitable for summer days.
