Ginger Beer Cologne

Great opening notes that I love, and my girlfriend described as simply 'hot'. Dries down really nicely, to a deep, woody and musky scent that lasts 10+ hours, albeit with weakening sillage. The beautiful ginger opening is a real showstopper. I love the hints of cinnamon that show through here, and wish they continued for longer, as I don't really get much from them after about 15 minutes. But, this doesn't mean gets any worse. Instead, a rich, intoxicating old-money velvetier leaves a hint of the previous fun while the restrained bottom notes take over. It's sophisticated, without being overbearing, and an excellent winter-pick-me-up before getting back to work. In classic Jo Malone style, the purchasing experience and packaging is excellent. After a brief visit to the Jo Malone counter a week before, I left with 5+ samples, and while there are not samples of this fragrance, it stuck with me, and I returned back a week later and purchased it from the same lovely store attendant. Again, I was showered in samples, and highly recommend extensively sampling the Jo Malone range if available and located near you. The bottle is of a very high quality, with an excellent, heavy top that does feel of it's price, and an excellent atomiser. Let's be honest, USD $90 for 30ml does have a fair bit of bite, especially for younger enthusiasts like me (18yo). However, I'm very happy with the purchase, and while it might not be a signature scent for me, it certainly takes a welcome spot in my growing collection.

This one stayed longer in clothes than in my skin but, I don't mind I really love it, I layered it with it siblings musk memento. If I can describe the smell is like fizzy soda, more like ginger beer. I smell a lot lot of ginger and citron bomb. Under that layer a hint cinnamon and oak give really expensive but comforting experience. It falls into more sweet kind of masculinity which me and my husband enjoy. It's christmassy but not gourmand clingy, not complex either. but It's classic and sniff-catching. Love.

Ginger Beer by Jo Malone does smell really good, but the lasting power and projection are just too weak for how much they priced this fragrance. I ended up cancelling my purchase after trying it in person. Its sister, Emerald Thyme, is stronger in terms of performance and it also smells good. But my expectations are just too high for both of these.

Yes it got that sweet spicy and airy like you take a glug of ginger beer, but the real deal is when it lingers in the air. My colleagues and clients can't stop mention that the scent kicks their noses (softly). In the air it is warm and sweet but have a hint of freshness and cleanliness, which is crowd pleasing. 9/10 for me.

Really lovely ginger fragrance. Definitely a ginger beer vibe in the opening, with a suprisingly good cinnamony drydown. Pair this with a cute bottle and reasonable price tag, I reckon this is a very good fragrance. (second best ginger after G and B Ingenious Ginger) 10/10
