Ginger Biscuit Cologne (2023)

I remember when I first smelled this fragrance in 2013 (or around then) when it first came out. It was the first love at first sniff I had ever had with a fragrance. Up until then, I had only smelled generic designer fragrances and Bath and Body Works sprays and while I used them, I was never wowed. I was working at a candle company over the summer while still in college and a fragrance mega corporation did a presentation on trending notes—apparently ginger was going to be big. But I was obsessed with this fragrance immediately, and I remember the male employee next to me said he was going to buy it for his wife after sniffing it too. It was a little more adult than the body sprays I was used to, but also was sweet and gourmand in a way that was harder to find at the time. Spicy enough to not be juvenile, sweet enough to be addictive. They didn’t have full bottles that year but I bought the gift duo of this and Nutmeg & Ginger and I only wore Ginger Biscuit on special occasions to save it. It’s come back a few times over the years and I’ve bought a bottle every time. The contrarian in me is a little sad that gourmands are so popular now that this is being hyped because I liked knowing about it before many people wore it. In all honesty, this fragrance is still designer—it’s mass appealing, and has weak longevity. It’s honestly only one step above a Bath and Body Works spray in both the linearity and youthfulness of the fragrance. Not the fragrance to wear to feel mature or complex. My older bottles have much better strength and longevity than newer ones, though I think that’s from aging and not from reformulation. Though even in newer bottles I feel like I can smell it more than other reviews here. Either way, it’s a winner for me even if it’s due to nostalgia.

Growing up my grandma was known for her tea cakes. I swear she was the only person on earth that made them because people never know what I’m talking about. They were a mix btwn a biscuit and a cookie, a lil more dense than both and had this sweet spicy flavor. They were addictive. Every year we would go visit and the highlight of my trip would be getting some tea cakes and my hair braided. It was one of those things that nobody knew how to make and she never shared the recipe. Imagine my surprise when I sprayed Ginger biscuit and smelled my Grandmas tea cakes! This perfume smells EXACTLY like them (this is how they taste too). I cried. It’s crazy how scents can evoke certain memories. Idk if a ginger biscuit is British for Tea Cakes (it probably is lol) or what but if so they nailed it. As for the scent I love it on its own. It’s one of those perfumes where all the notes are mixed together . Sweet and spicy. I don’t really get gingerbread...more like a snickerdoodle with a lot of ginger. The caramel is there but combined with everything it turns into something else. They don’t smell the same, but this is a sibling to Nishane’s Ani in a way. Im assuming it’s the ginger. Ani is bright and kinda cheerful and GB is the 180 cozy gourmand version. Day vs night. The scent lasts pretty well on me but a lot of scents do for whatever reason FF: I ended up randomly finding a recipe for my grandmas tea cakes yrs after she passed. I found a paper with a few of her recipes in one of my moms old cookbooks. She had forgot all about it. She said she stood over her (in the 70s) and copied down the steps lol. I still haven’t made them out of fear of not getting them right, but I’m glad I have this perfume for now.

God, why did this have to smell so good?! Esp when only full size bottles are available and pricy this 2024? A fragrance truly true to its name: 'Ginger Biscuit'! A gingerbread-ish scent that doesn't feel too juvenile or too sugar-y or too synthetic - the emphasis is on the spice mix, not the cookie part. Still it smells positively delicious, warm like a hug yet alluringly spicy. It's firmly a gourmand scent - that said I was expecting the vanilla/caramel note combo to project through the scent profile far more than it does in actuality. While there is a faint undercurrent of those notes that exists within the aforesaid warmness (creating a sweet cozy vibe) the specific vanilla/caramel notes are otherwise indistinct from the cozy fusion, adding to it but not sticking out as recognizeable notes; the spice of the ginger and nutmeg, on the other hand, hit my nose first and strongest. So if you like vanilla perfumes or are looking for a sweet/realistic gingerbread scent, I'd layer with your favorite true vanilla perfume of choice. I'd class this fragrance as leaning feminine due to the warm coziness of it, but due to the strong spicing could foreseeably be unisex - esp if layered.

Ginger snap cookies. A really beautiful, festive scent that is perfect for winter wear. It's a little nutty too, but also softly sweet from the caramel (which is not overpowering). The dry-down is gorgeous, a creamy ginger-infused vanilla with a sprinkle of smoky Tonka. The bottle is also beautifully presented, and I think it's fairer to say that the bottle is a limited edition rather than the scent itself which has been available before. It's a cologne, so bear in mind that longevity is not as good as an EDT or an EDP, but I find it lasts longer on my skin than most Jo Malone colognes. I'm getting about 4-6 hours depending on how cold the weather it is. It ebbs and flows rather than evokes a solid fragrance experience throughout, and I rather like that. Being hit with a lovely waft of ginger snaps every now and then is perfect because if it behaved ardently, it could get a little nauseating. Therefore, I think the longevity and silage are perfectly balanced. I'm glad I got the large bottle of this and I'm really looking forward to wearing it over the Christmas season and beyond. If you love the smell of making and baking gingerbread houses you will love this fragrance.

I do really like this. I naturally gravitate towards “holiday” type of scents, but this perfume totally smells like the holidays! Smelling it reminds me of a white Christmas, gingerbread cookies and warm milk, spending time with loved ones, and window shopping with a spiced latte in hand. This perfume seems nostalgic almost, as if I’m transported to 2007. I’m walking through Marshall Fields buying any last minute gifts with my mother. We grab food at Panera. I get to go to the Limited Too and Justice. Simpler times. I love the sentiments that this fragrance evokes. It smells spicy, like a spiced cider. Spiced fruits simmering on the stove. This reminds of me of a spiced fruit bake. So good. Gingerbread cookies. Spices. Pine cone candles burning in the back. Big red Christmas bows everywhere. A little spicy, a tad bit woody. Yet.... There’s a little soapy note somewhere in the dry down that keeps it very refined. It keeps it smelling feminine and soft. Once the scent has settled, there is something that kind of rounds it all out, smoothed it all out, so it doesn’t just smell like a massive Christmas candle from tj maxx. Anyway, I love it!!!! Picked it up at Sephora.

To me, this fragrance evokes one very clear memory, and recalling it made me teary-eyed: I’m finally getting coffee with someone that I haven’t seen in a very long time, someone that I’ve missed in my bones. It’s late October in the Sierra Nevada mountains, and with our hazelnut lattes in hand, my dearest friend and I walk slowly down the sidewalk of the small town she spread her wings from, and the one I never left. After hours of eager conversation, we whisper our hesitant and heartbroken goodbyes—and we end our coffee date with a long, tight hug; kind that feels like two bodies are being glued together from the tension. And with my head against their shoulder, nose buried deep in their neck, I inhale as much as I can. In part to keep my lip from quivering and the tears I’m holding back from falling, but truthfully, it’s so I can remember the scent of my dear friend for the years to come. They faintly smell like molasses cookies and hazelnut lattes, and all things that feel like home. And when we finally untangle from our embrace, the smell is gone, and soon, so are they.

This is my second bottle of Ginger Biscuit. I bought my first bottle last year, the fragrance was a faint but realistic gingerbread cookie scent, with terrible performance and longevity. It disappeared off my skin in an hour even when oversprayed. I did love the scent though so I decided to pick up another bottle this fall when it arrived at Harrods. I can definitely say that this year's batch is much stronger, deeper and lasts much better on my skin (and on clothes) compared to last year. The ginger note is much stronger, sweeter and even a bit smoky - it's very reminiscent of Christmas, a fireplace and freshly baking gingerbread cookies. If you're looking for a scent to remind you of the Christmas holidays, this is it. Even though Ginger Bread has been around for a while, it's still pretty unique, personally I haven't been able to find an alternative, and I sampled a lot of ginger/cookie-based fragrances, so I'm happy this year's batch is stronger. Highly recommend sampling this year's batch if you can, you might be pleasantly surprised.

The scent profile of Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit Cologne is my all time favourite. It's hyper-realistic of a gingerbread scent but without a "baked" note that some gourmands have. The fresh but comforting Ginger and Spice greet you with a warm hug upon opening - shortly followed by the soft sweetness of Caramel, Vanilla and Tonka. It's truly a gorgeous fragrance and in my humble opinion, it's the best Gingerbread fragrance you can find on the market (I've tried A LOT). My only gripe is the longevity and projection. I have purchased Ginger Biscuit every year it's been released and I have to say that 2025 - has been the weakest yet. This is really disappointing and I hope JM will work to make this fragrance as strong as their previous years. I would rate this in two parts - Performance 5/10 The actual scent 10/10

It makes me very sad to say that I can feel myself falling out of love with this perfume. I smelled it in 2024 and I couldn't believe how much I liked it. I was DREAMING about it. This Winter, I was finally able to buy it. I really hadn't been a perfume person when I smelled Ginger Biscuit, but I just felt like it had to be my signature scent. It's incredibly warm without being too spicy, and a little bit creamy with a hint of something citrusy. It's very gingery, and very much like gingerbread. But people aren't lying when they say that it doesn't last. It's frustrating. I actually found a very close dupe for it at Target as well. The scent Moon Milk by Frenshe comes in a body mist and body oil, and smells almost exactly like Ginger Biscuit. I haven't worn it, so I can't say anything about the performance.

Absolutely addictive scent, ginger biscuit truly does live up to its name, it smells identical to those ginger snap cookies they sell at Trader Joe’s... for all of 30 minutes. It’s SO stunning and unique, sweet and spicy, but I need Jo Malone to release a version of ginger biscuit that’s absolutely nuclear and not the whisper it is right now. I do need to give it it’s flowers a bit, I can still smell the vanilla and tonka in the base for quite a while, but you’d never know I was wearing it unless you sniffed my skin and clothes directly. Nobody is buying a fragrance called ginger biscuit to smell like a ginger snap for 30 minutes and a faint vanilla tonka for the rest of the day, especially for $170. Absolutely stunning in the opening, but I know Jo Malone can do better.

i was stunned when i smelled this for the first time. an unforgettable scent thats stuck with me since its release. to die for freshly baked ginger molasses cookie scent. it smells deep but sweet, classy, and almost nostalgic. this is how i imagine my childhood kitchen smelled during christmas in the 2000s while my parents danced to frank sinatra and baked together. it smells like warm orange overhead lighting casting over our old dark wood kitchen. when i watch old cassette footage of my dad filming home holiday parties, i imagine our house smelled like this. its nostalgic and beautiful and makes me want to enjoy the holiday season as much as possible and make as many memories as possible with the people i love. one of my dream fragrances <3

Anyone here a Lifetime Gym member? I’ve only ever visited my location in Princeton, so I’m not sure if they all smell the same, but my gym smells identical to Ginger Biscut and in the BEST way. Lifetime smells like a spa, as soon as you open the heavy door, the suction pulls out a whiff of this sweet, yet fresh, spicy vanilla. When I have the time after my work out, I sit in the hot tub then to the sauna. I shower, using their products and when I go home, everyone tells me I smell like the spa and they know I’ve been to Lifetime. It’s the first sweet fragrance I’ve come across that also smells clean and fresh. I will most certainly be layering this on my way out!

I've been searching for my perfect cozy, spicy fragrance for the winter since last year, and I think I've finally found it. Ginger Biscuit is everything I've wanted in a Christmas cologne--ginger, cinnamon, a touch of sweetness. I like that it is incredibly subtle and fades quickly--that way, I'm never overwhelmed. (I'd rather reapply when needed than choke myself out in my office.) Layering it with creamy vanillic scents, like Being Frenshe's Moon Milk, only enhances the feeling of a gingersnap dipped in a glass of warm milk. I'm incredibly satisfied with this holiday fragrance. 10/10, no notes.

First time I tried it I was pleasantly surprised - warm, cozy and beautiful gingerbread cookie scent. Pretty gourmand scent to my nose but not too sweet. Right away I bought 100ml bottle (that was the only option in US) and have been using it for a few weeks now. I think the scent on my skin fades too fast - maybe 3-4 hours maximum, however on my clothes it stays for a very long time! So I have been spraying it both on my skin and clothes. After the end of the day I only smell the most beautiful vanilla scent. On my clothes it stays for over three days now. Absolutely warm and cozy scent.

I blind bought this since there is no chance of finding a store near by that stocks it. I knew i was going to like it but I actually adore it. Just like everyone mentioned before it smells exactly like a ginger biscuit or speculaas. I also think it smells very similar to Changing Constance but with added ginger however the ginger is not to sharp in my opinion to the point that stings your nose. It is overall very soft and cozy and very appropriate for this time of year. Hopefully they will re-release it every winter and I will probably purchase every one of them cute bottle.

So far this is disappointing! I’m unsure if this is true, but apparently Jo Malone has changed the formula this year. I came across several reviews stating that a lot of people found the scent to be much weaker compared to the 2023 formula. I’m praying this isn’t the case and it just needs time to macerate! This is such a gorgeous ginger bread / ginger snap scent.... if I could just smell it for longer than a few seconds. I’m only able to smell it when I spray it. On my skin and clothes, it’s barely noticeable. I’ll update my review if this gets better over time 🤞

This is gorgeous. I thought the bottle's aesthetic would be the only part that drew me in but the fragrance lives up to the hype. On skin, it gives me literal gingersnap cookie, with the ginger and cinnamon notes being the most noticeable. On clothing, the nutmeg, hazelnut & tonka bean join the party. In my opinion, it's delightfully more complex on clothing than skin. I was also able to get more longevity (about 8 hours) that way as well. This is perfect for the holiday season. I'm so obsessed it skipped everything on my "wanted" list and got ordered right away!

Last year I was a bit upset with myself for purchasing a 100ml bottle when I was too shy to simply walk away the Jo Malone store... especially the price here in Hong Kong is much higher! The performance was pretty weak then, I used it just a few times last year and a year later after maceration I find it much stronger than what it used to be. Honestly now I’m pretty happy with it! It lasts quite well on clothing, while I can still smell it after changing into my work uniform where I no longer spritz any perfume on. I’m enjoying it so much now!

I bought the travel size on a whim during the Sephora sale and I fell in love. I agree with others very realistic very nostalgic. I think it's all day wearable fall and winter if you're into gourmands and smelling edible but not too sweet. I love the spicy gingery notes. I would buy a full size if this lasted longer, as it is it dissipates fairly quickly. I do still get subtle whiffs throughout the day but I doubt any one else can smell it after 2-3 hours unless they're hugging you. Short lived but gorgeous yummy warm cozy gingerbread scent.

I adore this scent!! I bought it secondhand because it sold out everywhere, but I knew I'd kick myself if I didn't get my hands on this limited-edition gem. It's warm, spicy, and the ULTIMATE cozy fragrance for winter. Smells like a freshly baked gingerbread cookie dunked in a warm chai latte. Very photorealistic. My biggest issue is that it's very weak and fades quickly. I found that layering with lotion helps with projection and staying power. I'm a huge fan of Sol de Janeiro 71 (salty, caramel, gourmand), and this feels similar.

Sweet, light, airy, warm, creamy goodness! I am so glad I got my hands on a full size bottle 🥰. If you like gourmand fragrances then this is definitely for you!! So, what does it smell like?? Well I am glad you asked! Let me humbly enlighten you... If you could imagine indulging in freshly baked ginger biscuits (think Spekulatius or speculaas) paired with a rich, velvety hot chocolate made from real milk chocolate and topped with a generous dollop of sweet whipped cream!! This is what it smells like to me and it’s divine ❤️❤️❤️

This smells exactly like a VS Pink body lotion I used to have, the ones in the big jars with the pump. I loved it but I believe it's not available anymore, I cannot even remember the name. This is not as spicy as I expected it to be, it's a creamy vanilla with some mild spices. I am really tempted to buy it, but I don't know if it's worth it for the price tag, when I used to get the exact same experience with the lotion for probably less than 20 bucks. If I could find the lotion again, I would not even consider getting this.

A true buttery, warm, spicy gingerbread gourmand 😍 I am VERY picky about both eating and smelling like gingerbread and Ginger Biscuit is THEE best gingerbread perfume on the market. It’s about as photorealistic as it can get and only gets better and more rich with maceration. Longevity and projection are a true moderate but also get better with age. An absolute holiday classic I will ALWAYS have in my collection. This was one of my first gourmand perfumes that sent me into a total obsession. Rating: 10/10

smells so so so good I still want it even though it does not last at all. I always douse myself in the tester and the scent is gone by the time I've left the store. It probably needs the help of a lotion for longevity, but for the price I wish it were stronger on its own. It's such a nice, sweet, spicy scent that's edible but still mature. I haven't tried anything like it. Photorealistic gingersnap. Warms up so perfectly on my skin and clothes. I loose my mind every time over how good this smells.

I do love this perfume, and ill be brief because many people have described it better than I— but the perfume is very subtle, spicy, not too sweet, and has a almost coconuty milk undertone. Think gingerbread DOUGH not the cookie itself. A raw flour smell as well. If you want a dupe that is stronger and very cheap, Le Monde Gourmand's Pumpkin Crème Eau de Parfum is almost identical. Notes of spice, nutmeg, and frothed milk, and base notes of musk and sandalwood. Its around 20 dollars for a bottle.

This one is so beautiful and delicate and delectable and cozy! BUT it's very weak. I had to press my nose right against the test strip to smell it. I'm not sure that it's worth the price tag for such poor sillage. But the smell is divine and instantly put a smile on my face. Update: I ended up getting the travel spray. I sprayed 4 sprays instead of 2 and also layered it with What the Fluff and it smelled stronger (and absolutely heavenly) and lasted longer. I'm obsessed with this new combo!

I need time with this one and maybe even layering which I've never done before. I mean I don't get the full experience of a gingerbread cookie, and it's also kinda weak & close to skin, not so gourmand as I wanted. I bought 9 ml sample so just going to wait 2-4 weeks and try again. just let it macerate or whatever you guys calling that thing when fragrance gets stronger over time even with all those nuances I'm obsessed and can't stop returning to just smell the cup of the bottle help

Omg this is SO delicious. I bought it blind from a friend who had it in her collection. It dries down to the most delicious, well-spiced Egg Nogg to me because it's so custard-y and creamy (on my skin)and then turns into a creamy solar ginger. Because it's so solar on me, I'm probably going to wear this on Summer nights. I don't even care about performance. That said, it's currently projecting very well from my arm, so I guess I'll just respray throughout the day. It's worth it.

I somehow expected a thick, syrupy gingerbread, which wouldn’t be very typical Jo Malone. However, I love their take on such scent. They’ve made it light and airy, very elegant and pleasant. It’s a creamy subtle vanilla-ginger cookie. I usually layer this with BR540 Extrait and it’s absolutely amazing. The almondy sweetness and burnt sugar character of BR540 brings out the best in this fragrance. It adds depth and grounds the scent. Highly recommend trying this layering combo!

Delicious opening with bright ginger and warm spices followed by tender sweetness with a detectible biscuit note. Of course, I smell Speculaas biscuit mostly because of this mix of spices, I don’t think really has a “dough” note. It’s definitely gourmand but it’s not too sugary. Beautiful scent! So I was not interested in this at all especially given the hype. I happened to come across this when I was in Nordstrom yesterday and I really enjoyed it! They were nice enough to give me a sample. I usually don't like gourmand cookie like scents but I really really like this. It's not sickly sweet (but still sweet). The spiciness is perfection. Might be crazy enough to buy it despite the price/performance issues. Definitely worth the hype scent wise. 🥰

I purchased this blindly and really love it. I was not expecting a realistic ginger biscuit scent, but I agree with other reviewers that said there is a creaminess here too. To my nose, this is a gingersnap cookie dunked into milky tea. Soft, round, sweet and spicy. I haven't had any issues with longevity. I've been layering this with a vanilla-heavy lotion and VS bare vanilla bodyspray. I continue to get whiffs of all the notes throughout the day.

I love to see Jo Malone doing gourmand scents. One whiff of that ginger and I was in love. This will make you want some holiday ginger bread cookies asap. I want to eat it it's delicious with the cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel and vanilla base note that makes it just sweet enough it doesn't get in the way of the spices and ruins it. It smells so real and it will give me hunger pains cuz I just want a damn ginger cookie. Yummy.

This smells EXACTLY like the gingerbread cookies I bake every Christmas for my family. I love a good gourmand, and wanted this as soon as my nose had smelled it. Sold out everywhere in the UK, so my husband managed to get a bottle in the US. Very happy that Jo Malone brought this back, however would be great if they improved the formula to last a bit longer than 1h as it's not worth it at all for the price point.

This was a blind buy for me when it was re-released in 2023, and no regrets. Great photorealistic soft ginger cookie scent; perfect for the holiday season. This was my Christmas day fragrance! This is soft and cozy and you could probably get away with wearing it in spring and summer nights, but it’s so evocative of cookies baking and holiday coziness that this will strictly be a fall and winter scent for me.

Ginger Biscuit transports me to a kitchen filled with the aroma of buttery cookie batter and the joy of shaping Christmas cookies. No longevity concerns here as I can smell it even after 8 hours. As I was lucky enough to snatch a barely used bottle half price, I can revel in it without worrying about projection—so, I will indulge in liberal spritzing and fully savor this fragrance until it lasts.

Photorealistic gingerbread cookies. Gooey and sweet, this has the most wonderful caramel note and a gorgeous cinnamon twist. I wore this all throughout the holidays and received so many compliments, as long as I sprayed it within the hour. If it’s very fast, unfortunately. But when it’s good, it’s a stunner. If you want to smell like fresh out of the oven gingerbread, this is the perfume.

wonderful. it’s a very warm fragrance, and i smell something lactonic too. like ginger biscuits and a cup of warm milk. contrary to popular opinion i find that it does last, but it’s very gentle. as in that i could smell it on myself but not to the point it bothered me. also a guy hugged me after i had this on for 4 hours with no reapplication and said i smelled like cookies.

this is absolutely beautiful. genuinely one of jo malone's best. it's very ginger heavy, then nutmeg, then caramel. its sort of floral smelling, but I don't understand why? besides that, it's perfect. it's super strong, and i took a very thorough shower a while after spraying but could still smell it. if you like ginger, ginger snaps, or gingerbread, this is for you.

Love this fragrance, my favourite for autumn and winter. Soft, honey spiced gingerbread in the top notes, and delicate spiced vanilla dry down with a hint of floral for me. She’s not overpowering, but delicate and sweet, but I actually love that about the JM fragrances as they don’t give you a headache even when you spray liberally. My second autumn wearing this!

I love this one! To me, as soon as the weather changes, this gorgeous bottle comes out from hiding in my closet and up on my tray. It is subtle, comforting and pleasant. I bought a bottle last year at full prize but through multiple marketing venues, I was informed that it is coming back this year as a Sephora exclusive. So will plan to buy a 9 mL travel.

I'm so thankful I was able to buy this before it sold out for the season! Can't disagree with all the reviews saying it's a realistic scent, might even be the most realistic one I have ever came across. Make you feel so warm and cozy. It's definitely a yummy one. A bit too spicy and strong for me in warmer weather, but it is my staple fall-winter.

such a lovely , photorealistic gingersnap scent with hints of tonka and vanilla on the skin - although i don't lovvvee the initial scent ( too spicy for me ) the dry down is beautiful . i only wish it projected and lasted longer for the price , but the subtle spice and warmth feels so cozy and comforting , so perfect for the colder months

I love this for the 30 minutes I can smell it on me. So I have found an amazing combination, ginger biscuit over the men’s Valentino born in Roma Yellow Dream. Look up the notes before you disregard this as gross. It’s so yummy and lasts hours longer than GB on its own. Twice the ginger bread and some sweet pineapple.

I keep this fragrance on hand for when the weather starts to turn cold and I wear it from October to December. It's a sweet, slightly spicy and subtle ginger cookie fragrance, but not so gourmand that it actually smells like food. The dry down on me is a clean and bright vanilla. Love, love, love.

Ginger Biscuit is just that. A spicy cookie scent perfect for the cold weather. I love it and while the projection isn't enormous the longevity is pretty great. I easily get 8 hours of this delightful scent before it disappears. Wish they would release it every year because it is so well loved.

Photorealistic gourmand. Smells like caramel with ginger. Smells edible. Totally unisex. Very long lasting and room filling, still strong after 8 hours. I’m familiar with this house but haven’t tried that many fragrances from them. Heard about this new release and tried it. Really impressive.

The opening of this smells like straight up Biscoff which I love to eat but wasn’t sure I wanted to smell like that.. but I sprayed it on my arm and after like 30 minutes it turns into a much more wearable kinda tonka and caramel scent that I really like!! I’m gonna go back and buy it :)

Don't let the people voting this is a female fragrance fool you! This is a 100% unisex gourmand fragrance. Smells sexy as hell. The only issue is the weakness and longevity. This is a beautiful holiday scent that brings people closer to you. A must try for all you sweetness lovers. 8/10
