Lupin & Patchouli

Patchouli is very sassy here. Just as fashionista said below, at first there is something floral. I'm not familiar with the scent of lupin flowers but there definitely is some sort of flower. I almost found it a light scent. But then patchouli appears out of nowhere and it shoves the floral note away like "move, b*tch!" and it steals all the attention. Such a drama queen. And I love it. It drastically becomes a spicy warm oriental scent. To some people it might smell a bit masculine. It has certain sexiness that only mature, elegant and sophisticated people can project. On my skin, it lasts for good long 10 hours with solid sillage. On my clothes, it lasts for days. I love it, but is there anything special about it? Does it wow you? Unfortunately, no. If you love Jo Malone, the word "limited," patchouli and lovely bottles, go for it, you won't be disappointed. If you want something new, this isn't for you.

Bitter and dry patchouli with rose, gets earthier as it dries on my skin. The rose is very noticeable on me too, I think my body chemistry really agrees with it. Lovely for spring, needs to be reapplied to last all day for me, but it goes about 5 hrs, very impressive for a Jo Malone.

This is really pretty and for a Jo Malone I am amazed at it's longevity! It lasted ten hours on me. By then it was a skin scent, but I have never gotten that much longevity out of one of hers. I don't know what a Lupin smells like but the patchouli is noticeable in a great way. I don't smell any orange here.

Upon first spritz there is a floral note that quickly gives way to patchouli. Lupin and Patchouli is very nicely pleasing but not amazing or unique. But the bottle? Gorgeous!!

This smells like rose and spicy lupines on first spray, but the floral notes disappear on dry down, and this becomes primarily a patchouli scent. It's a bright green herbal patchouli, and as someone here mentioned, the kind made popular by hippies. If you happen to like that type, then you might like this, though you could do no worse by just using patchouli oil and saving yourself some cash.

I haven't smelled real Lupin before but i guess it would smell like a lavender because this really smells like patchouli combo with lavender! Patchouli inside is not in a way of fresh at all, but give some powder aromatic note instead, "Warm Spicy" is the most appropriate word to describing this perfume way. Dry down smell is like a warm spicy powder The projection of opening smell is very stong, so if you use a lot of sprays, you may feel headache suddenly Sillage and longevity are very good too, so if you accidentally spray it more than you want, then you have to tolerate it all day long, otherwise, scrub washing it off.

Lupin has a bitter scent. Quite herbal and dry. For patchouli lovers. I'm not a fan of patchouli (having only two patchouli centered scents in my collection being patchouli imperial by Dior and White patchouli by TF). give it a go if you can still find it. The bottle is stunning.

Following the success of The English Fields collection last year, Jo Malone has launched the Wild Flowers & Weeds collection to mixed reviews. I really enjoyed exploring the English Fields range, (and even fell in love with a few), so I was admittedly quite keen to get my nose on Wild Flowers & Weeds. I haven't smelt them all yet, but I do plan to do so in the coming weeks. I picked out Lupin & Patchouli in a rush whilst whizzing through the department store and decided it was the best place to start seeing how much I adore patchouli. Lupin & Patchouli is a crisp, clean and somewhat basic interpretation of patchouli and lupin. I'm a little disappointed as it wasn't as interesting as I'd hoped. It's definitely not as striking as Cologne Intense Amber & Patchouli, also by Jo Malone. If you like the scent of patchouli, you will like this fragrance. There's nothing unpleasant about this composition and I would even call it a crowd-pleaser for the most part. Lupin & Patchouli's lack of originality is partly the reason why it has been voted down so many times. It smells a little masculine on my skin, but in so saying I also find it quite comforting. The sillage is on the softer side, however, the longevity is quite impressive, lasting a solid six hours on my skin.

It is patchouli scent, after spraying it smells almost like pure patchouli essential oil used by my hippie colegue. It is herbal and salty, like a mix of patchouli, thyme and mint. There is also something peppery to it. I think it is lupin. (Lupin smells like watered down black locust with peppery patchouli-like nuances).I wish there was more flowery sweetnes of lupin to it.
