Peony & Blush Suede

This is my day time perfect scent: light, cozy, clean & will not offend. At work, with family, friends.. I’ve tried so many perfumes that turns completely different on me with my skin chemistry and this one just melt so well and becomes velvety. It does not come off red apple for me, it is very floral and suede on my skin. It is my signature fragrance, mostly because peonies remind me of my late mother perfume. It’s a very simple perfume with few notes, it just works so beautifully, you can’t get tired of it as it cannot get overpowering or too sweet. It’s that clean girl scent, not another vanilla or overly sweet scent. That’s the kind of perfume I want for everyday wear. I prefer complex spicy woody sultry scents for the night and if there’s a special occasion I got so many heavier scents in my collection to gravitate to. 10/10 for everyday wear year round, just not an evening fragrance or special occasion fragrance

Peony and Blush Suede has to be one of the prettiest Jo Malone fragrances that I have smelled. Its sweet and girly, but has a slight edge considering the hint of a spicy carnation in the opening and the soft suede dry down. This fragrance happens to have a a strong apple note, which on my skin lasts the whole time. It also has very pretty peony note that light and refreshing its also complemented by a slight pink rose undertone. Peony and Blush Suede is a fragrance that I find that most people who try it will enjoy. I feel like overtime it might even compare in popularity to their Nectarine Blossom and Honey. I have not tried layering it with anything yet, but I think it can easily work with a lot in their line. It very pretty fragrance that can easily be worn all year long and has great longevity too! Edit: ~Layers quite nicely with Blackberry and Bay. ^_^

Oh my goodness. I was so prepared to hate this one (I'm usually not a fan of fruity perfumes and I especially dislike the shampoo quality of most apple fragrances), but decided to give it a fair try anyway. I'm completely shocked. As soon as I smelled it on my arm, the peony and rose came through strong. They're bright, fresh, floral, and a little sweet. The suede gives it a hint of barely-there warm powderiness. Throughout the day, I kept catching whiffs of something incredible around me. It took an embarrassing amount of time for me to realize that it was me! It was the Peony & Blush Suede! Absolutely stunned. It's floral and sweet and powdery. It's fresh with a hint of something soft and warm. It is so unbelievably good. Unfortunately for my wallet, this scent is incredible. Will absolutely be buying a travel size soon.

For me this fragrance is gorgeous! This is my first day sampling it. The first whiffs after spraying were screechy and wildly unpleasant. I gave it time to settle down and it's SO PRETTY! Floral, sweet, not "youthful" and not "old lady," which suits me in my early 30s personally. I am always hunting for scents that hit down the middle to my sensibilities. Anyway, this scent is very intimate on my skin, I can smell it by bringing my nose right to it. It's lingered on the back of my hand after hand washing a few dishes then washing my hands thoroughly, so I'm impressed with the staying power. It's been hours since that first spray and I'm loving the dry down. It might read a little powdery but not unpleasant to me at all

Dress slacks. Freshly pressed navy, paired with a brown Mary Jane. Polished brass, and ornate silver spoons. In the arabesques of the handle are hints of tarnish. Take this to the dry cleaner's, won't you—bring me a cappuccino, won't you? Flirt over afternoon tea. His hands shake when you smile, and he fiddles with the string of the teabag. Buy a bundle of peonies at the street market, and carry them in your arms in the subway. Silver ballet flats. Remind your lover that you must pencil them in your calendar, because you are already busy enough. Kisses goodbye on the lobe of your ear. A murmur of a compliment in an elevator. Stand in front of a pier glass and pick what earrings to wear. Pearl.

What an amazing perfume! I got 8 ml to test it and instantly fell in love with it. It opens with a very strong, very overpowering suede note on my skin. I get transported to a garage, all old tires and leather cleaners. Such a cozy note, definitely suitable for a colder time of the year. It calms down after a while and slowly turns into a more tender, but still warm and cozy peony that is enhanced by a delicious juicy red apple. Such a stark contradiction in notes - very strong, almost masculine suede and a light, playful red apple - brings it to a level of a signature scent to me! Will be definitely getting a full bottle soon.

I often forget how mindlessly i stray from the classics like this beauty. Its just been sitting in the bottom of my drawer waiting to be discovered again. I am so glad I picked it up. The crisp apple followed by the sharp rose just satisfy something so deep within me, like i'm at an affluent garden party in the hamptons being served crumpets and im surrounded by fresh red rose bushes. It just smells so satisfying in a way that the suede perfectly compliments the rose without overpowering and taking away from the femininity of the top notes. I love how leathery it smells. I havent found anything else like this

this was my go-to through middle and high school, when i thought that anything that came in a glass bottle was more cultured than hollister or bath and body works body spray. for a teenager who had only barely stepped into perfume, it was perfect: sweet with crisp florals, and a soft musky dry-down that gives credit to its name. some dupes of this one have better longevity than the original, but it lasts nicely on clothes rather than skin. i've long since moved on from fruity and fresh, but it does still mostly hold up, i reach for it on occasion, when i want to wear something bright and uncomplicated. 7.5/10

Light, romantic, and effortlessly elegant. It opens with the crisp sweetness of red apple and settles into a lush bouquet of peony, rose, and jasmine. As it dries down, a soft, powdery warmth emerges, giving it that skin-like intimacy so characteristic of Jo Malone scents. Chilled white wine in the countryside. Peals of laughter in the late afternoon. Sun-warmed, powder-soft skin. Delicate pink lipstick on the rim of your wineglass. Linen slacks and oversized sunglasses. Crisp, sweet apple tarts and fresh-cut peonies on the table. Irresistibly British.

I absolutely love this fragrance. It is my signature scent now, cause I just cant stop wearing it. It is my daytime work fragrance. I just cannot get enough. It is fresh, crisp apple, then beautiful peony and after some time it turns into a nice powdery(?) leathery scent. The main issue is it only lasts some 4 ish hours on my skin, on clothes it lasts longer. I tried searching for a dupe that would last longer but it is just too unique I think, because i have never smelled anything like this so far. I will buy it again when I run out.

it is the perfect floral feminine scent , i adore this perfume it is very wearable every season , i'd say it's a scent where you can wear it day and night as well , if you are a floral lover this is the perfect perfume ! it's giving classy , elegant , mature and feminine in the perfect way , it's very clean and fresh as well , i can defiantly smell the jasmine , rose and peony in this perfume it is the perfect floral blend without smelling like too much floral at the same time , i'm very impressed by this masterpiece

Delicious, divine peony and apple, gorgeous flowers and fruit on the opening... And the sillage, very much "unlike" Jo Malone, you can smell the cloud around you.... Then the dry down presents this incredible fruity suede... But not in the leathery sense, it feels musky. This is the kind of fragrance that you keep tilting your head to catch the after-scent... When you bury your nose into your elbow to take a deep breath and everyone wonders what on earth is wrong with you...And you lift your face and smile!!!

I really love this. My favorite spring scent has been Ever Bloom by Shiseido, but that has ben disco'd, so I've been looking for another fresh, smooth, light, sweet but lasting floral that was not harsh or screechy. This is it. Ever Bloom begins with lotus, but this opens with sweet crisp apple. They both share a fresh sweet rosy peony middle and a soft musky dry down. Not a dupe, but maybe better because P and BS lasts all day. EDIT: I smell traces of the the soft musk on my arm 12 hours later!

It’s by far one of the most beautiful scents I’ve ever smelled. A ripe, juice-filled sweet red apple and at the same time apple cider with sparkling bubbles, and all of this is seasoned with a delicate suede-like texture. I don’t sense anything floral here, nor anything spring-like. To my nose, it’s an ultimate autumnal scent, a scent for a brown suede handbag. It has some slight retro-ish hint that nonetheless matches the atmosphere of the fragrance and doesn’t make it worse.

This is best worn between late Summer and early Fall for me. It’s so pretty! Reminds me of the month of September and new beginnings. Yet also the falling leaves and the promise of colder weather. I get a yummy splash of juicy red apple, followed by the peony and rose. There is a spicy note to this, which I am guessing is the carnation. But my favorite part is the suede. It’s soft, smooth and mixes with the florals so well. Perfect for Fall and end of Summer!!!

got this one for free in a tiny tester as a trivia prize, and let me tell you, i have never wanted to splurge on a full bottle more. its just so perfectly sweet and floaty and foxy, makes me feel like the prettiest little thing on the planet. there are very little detectable notes of peony or suede, it more just smells mindlessly sweet and crisp and sort of... pink. it just smells like the idea of being blushy and flirty and sweet to me.

Ladies and gentlemen, peony and suede of all the J.Malone fragrances I've tested, is the one I'm most likely to wear and most likely to repurchase. My my my, what a sweetheart of a fragrance! Subtly sweet peony-rose and suede are the main notes. I smell all the other notes as the fragrance develops but they are background actors. This isn't a linear fragrance, but it's not complex either. Love it, and that's all I have to say.

Today was my last day of training, and the hospital felt especially hectic and draining. In the morning I dabbed a little Peony & Blush Suede on my scrubs and scarf, and its soft, subtle presence followed me through the day. It was like a quiet whisper of calm and elegance amidst the chaos, a small comfort that made everything feel a little gentler. Trying it as a sample already makes me want the full bottle

this scent didnt wow me at first, but it very quickly grew on me! a light floral scent with a tiny twist of leather to make it a bit deeper and mature. i find myself reaching for this scent way more often than i initially expected. it is such a great school/office scent. it’s not a scent that would leave an impression, but rather something that others would just think “they smell nice” when they smell you.

A feminine and simple bed-time/after-shower scent for me. The apple brings a bright opening and stays around for about an hour. Then it turns into an intimate skin scent of soft floral profile, with just a hint of gentle sweetness. Overall, a calming scent. When I wear it, I feel like I’m floating among pink clouds made of fluffy peony petals. Quite an experience!

made a review when i first bought it last year, i liked it then but now i like it even more. for a while i kept reaching for this fragrance daily to the point that i had a big dent only after a month of using it. it is soooo nice so cozy and pretty. the suede gives a bit of uniqueness yet still very approachable and easy to wear. my comfort scent honestly

The combination of peony and suede is very interesting. It is definitely a feminine scent but the added suede gives it a touch of masculinity. This is a perfect easy and basic everyday perfume. Just like any other Jo Malone cologne, this is great for layering. I like to pair this with Wood Sage & Sea Salt.

Peony bliss!! Opens like you're lifting an actual apple to your nose and smelling it, then drifts into a beautifully soft summer white floral & rose, all atop the most comforting suede base (slightly rustic yet so so chic); I expected to more or less enjoy this one, but I'm excited to really be loving it

This is a smell of Bangkok to me, because I bought it when I was in Bangkok for the first time. Though is has nothing in common with Bangkok. For me it is a very honest and clean fragrance, it does not change over time. Smells like 00s, smells kinda retro. Not like a flower shop, artificial.

A sweet and fresh powdery rose and peony fragrance. Has a generic female perfume scent like the magazine samples. The jasmine is more powdery and musky rather than coiling which is pleasant. Apple note is barely noticeable and short lived. A pretty and charming feminine fragrance. 7.5/10

i remember when i was a kid and opened my mom’s cosmetics. my first smell of red rouge and heavy pink blushes. that’s it, this is that smell bottled and paired with beautiful floral. i love it and put it on when i feel and wear very feminine.

Very beautiful peony with gentle rose and a bit of red apple. Very delicate, pink fragrance, not too sweet, absolutely enjoyable. If it lasted any longer, I’d add it on my “to buy” list. But it’s very low concentration, so not worth it.

Wow! Usually I HATE peony notes in perfumes, however, this perfume is lovely! So dainty, feminine, floral. Very fairy-like. This is the perfect spring picnic, everyday perfume. I would say this is my 2nd favorite Jo Malone Smell.

that red apple sweetness is so nice. this is a really good floral. its simple and i really dig the peony in this. it isnt anything crazy but sometimes thats a good thing. sometimes a simple floral is what ya need.

LOVE THIS!! smells manly on men, feminine on women...this smells expensive too without heavier price tag of other niche brands. Floral but dirty due to the suedes, very balance floral scents.

I think this is such a beautiful, soft , feminine fragrance. Perfect if you are looking for something pretty and simple. My only complaint is that it does not last very long on my skin.

Wore this for my wedding. A very realistic and fresh peony with lots of depth. It’s a light scent that smells best right after application. Not super complex but very beautiful to me.

I'd call it "Rose patchouli" , where is suede, where is carnation and so on? It's fresh and has lots of patchouli, I am surprised no one has mentioned this

This is an easy reach, sweet floral that is office appropriate. I’ve gotten compliments a few times wearing this layered with Wood Sage and Sea Salt.

Sometimes I just want to smell like a beautiful, bright, juicy pink peony from 2013 🤷🏻♀️ when I wanna smell like that, this is IT. Nothing better 🥰

Got this as a birthday gift few years ago from a male colleague who had little knowledge or experience with fragrance. We were on the same project in London — I think it was his first time in the UK. Here’s the story I later heard: he knew I liked perfume and figured a fragrance would be a great idea. Jo Malone made sense to him, since he was in the UK, so he found a store, walked in, and started selecting (yes, I know — that sounds scary to you, too). He had another friend of mine with him to “advise” him. They picked and tested, skipped anything they felt was too “girly” or that read as “bossy lady” (yeah, I guess the boys don’t love that), and landed on Peony & Blush Suede as a middle ground. Fragrance snob that I am, my first impression on receiving it was a genuine “this is pretty — not bad.” What I didn’t say was that it also felt quite forgettable. Since it was a meaningful gift, even though it wasn’t a staple or “interesting” enough for me to test deeply, I didn’t want to put it on the chopping block. I just didn’t reach for it often. This year, I remembered it and wanted to use it up, so I started wearing it as an after-shower scent in the evening. To my surprise, my partner said it’s the best thing he’s smelled on me. He’s like my colleague—knows very little about perfume and isn’t interested—so if something grabs his attention enough for a compliment, it must smell really good to his nose. (Another one he explicitly said he liked is Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Camellia. Lol.) Later, he even asked if I’d wear it when we go out together—something he has literally never asked in all our years together. Of course I said yes. I’ve been wearing it whenever we go out, and at his semi-work, semi-social Friday drinks, his colleagues (same “genre” of guys) loved it too. Some context here—those men don’t usually comment publicly on a perfume unless they absolutely have to—so I bet this must please their noses enough that they bothered to say something. My conclusion: there’s something in this scent profile that doesn’t particularly attract me, but is widely liked by men of that type. lol So, if you’re a guy reading this and you love this scent, can you tell me what’s so special about it and why you love it? I’d really like to understand it better. To my nose it’s purely a fruity rose with a very watery texture (and I don’t even get where the suede is)... ----------- Updated verdict: Okay, I didn’t do this cologne justice. Earlier today, in the store, I sprayed some Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet on the back of my hand (a peony-forward scent) and compared with what I was wearing side by side—then the suede texture became prominent to my nose. Before that comparision, I’d been comparing it to Tom Ford White Suede, a Suede that I can’t wear in high heat and humidity. So now I do get it has a very pronounced suede texture in this perfume, and it’s so smartly done—it’s a suede that’s even wearable on humid summer days. I’m updating my verdict from like to love! Also, if you like the discontinued Holy Peony from Dior’s private line, give this a try. It’s less sweet, more textured, and way less expensive.

Something I would have expected to absolutely hate. I'm someone who loves gourmands and dislikes really flowery, floral profiles; I approach most of them expecting the fragrance to just smell loud and like... "perfume". Indistinct, generically "pretty", basically "this smells like perfume". On top of that, I tend to dislike apple notes since I associate this mostly with candles, expecting too much brightness that I wouldn't really want to put on my body as a perfume. So this fragrance pyramid is *really* not up my alley whatsoever. But I received a sample. The opening is bright and fruity with "apple", but it's not overwhelming or nauseating, not even if your nose stays there for too long. It's also pretty short-lived. I don't *love* the heart, but it's soft once the peony takes stage: musky white/green, with some fruity freshness every now and a sniff. Then it gets sooo much more "creamier" when it dries down to the basement and (what I think is) the suede takes over. I love this end stage! I'd forgotten I'd sampled this, got a whiff of my wrist, and loved that silky, creamy leather note that followed on my skin. I swear I try really hard to understand where other people are coming from when it comes to perceiving fragrance notes, even when I get a completely different experience, but I can't believe other reviews stating that *this* is the leather note becoming too strong or too overwhelming on themselves—that soft, "creamy" drydown's the best part in my experience. Ofc, sample on your skin/clothes before buying, but this registers as safe, inoffensive & elegant to me. I probably would enjoy this fragrance more as a hand lotion or a candle than a perfume, though, since I only really love its smooth, silky end stage (by then it becomes intimate and stays close to the skin). The rest of the perfume doesn't last too long in my and many others' opinion, maybe 1-2 hours before it fades to suede. Based on that, I agree with others saying it's probably overpriced. The projection during that time is probably in the weak-moderate range too. It just doesn't last that long (needs constant reapplying if you want the top-middle to stick around, but then you'd end up smelling way too perfumey imo).

I avoided this scent for a long time for two reason. First, I usually can't stand peony and second, it's often recommended as a bridal scent. I'm not much of a fan of ladylike and pure scents. However, I was in Nordstrom naming off some of my favorite fragrances to the SA and she insisted I should try this one because she thought I would like it. I politely let her spray it on a card and sniffed it. My eyes widened with surprise. I can not for the life of me imagine why a bride would want to smell like this, lol! It's a very dry, strong suede fragrance to my nose with a lovely mature floral background which doesn't smell much like peony at all. There's a crispness to it as well and while it's not sugary sweet the edges are softened. To me it smells like what I think a powerful women who has it all together should smell like. In fact, I think my favorite aunt might have worn this and she's the head of the entire health department in a major metropolitan city. She's in her early 60's and still gorgeous with dark black hair with a silver streak on one side and exotic almond eyes. To this day men still plead for her to marry them. Once when she visited me my handsome 30 and 40 year old friends were mesmerized by her. She doesn't need men though. She dates but is happy with her life the way it is. She's not a cold person but she's practical and commanding. The one the family calls when something important and maybe unpleasant needs to be done. However, when you really know her you find out she's actually quite loving and when she smiles her eyes light up like stars. She is happiest on sunny New England days sitting on a beach dune staring out at the ocean, lost in her thoughts. This is the woman I imagine this fragrance for and I doused myself in it because I'm not her...yet, but at least I can smell like her! A sueded and mature floral with an almost unapproachable elegance...almost.

it’s a wonderful choice for the office during the warmer months. It's light, elegant and effortlessly wearable. It opens with a crisp burst of juicy red apple before unfolding into a beautiful floral heart of peony, rose, jasmine and carnation. The apple note fades quite quickly on my skin, leaving the peony and rose to take centre stage with their soft, romantic sweetness. As the fragrance settles, the suede accord emerges, adding a smooth, velvety touch that gently anchors the floral bouquet without weighing it down. Longevity on my skin is around four hours, with a soft, close-to-the-skin scent trail. It's an understated, inoffensive floral that's perfect for everyday wear, especially if you prefer fragrances that stay within your personal scent bubble rather than announcing your arrival. Next time, I'd love to layer it with Kayali Eden Juicy Apple to amplify that crisp apple sweetness and give the opening a little more staying power.

Beautiful watery peony with suede in the background. This is now my signature scent for the spring and summer, maybe for life. The apple in the beginning smells very photorealistic, very beautiful. This scents screams elegance and class. Simply beautiful. Comparing to other JM eau de colognes, this is the most long-lasting I've tried. And I find this to be more "grown" version of English Pear & Freesia. This shares the note of peony with Delina, the aquatiqueness of Chloé, and a lot of elegance. Perfectly versatile and amazing for a signature scent. EDIT 12.7.2024 Today I used my last bits of this 30 ml bottle. This is the fastest that I've gone through a fragrance yet I won't repurchase. The reason is the non existent lasting power. Even if I spray 20 times and layer this properly, it won't last. Love Jo Malone cologne concentration fragrances, but at the end of the day, I want my perfume to last at least 5 hours.

I am finding that all Jo Malone fragrances are weak, watered down and not lasting, although they have amazing scent profiles and a ton of potential, for the price I would go through the respray process too fast , I do have 7 Jo Malone Fragrances and a lot of the minis from 5ml spray sets but to purchase a full size bottle at the rate it fades and wears off , probably will not invest any future interest. Now if they come out with a lasting EDP extrait or Parfum high concentrate % of p/oil I will curve back to them because the scents are amazing!! But i like to get the wear for the $$ and not go through it like it's air i need to survive. lol This scent specifically is just as the name says a warm, lightly sweet blush of classy, mature suede, rose and peony, the apple isn't that noticeable for me, a hint on the opening then gone.

I received a sample of this with a purchase I made at Sephora. I wasn’t expecting much as I have never found a Jo Malone scent that I really like and I’m not usually a floral lover. Surprised that I enjoyed wearing it for a couple days. It’s bright and flirty and I loved the apple and rose notes at the beginning. The apple was realistic and juicy and if it stayed smelling like the opening I might consider a full bottle but the suede dry down was just ok. I was most surprised that this it lasted so long on my skin most Jo Malones are gone within an hour on me this one lasted 4-6 hours. Good for the right person.
