Rose Amber Cologne 2024

This one is giving rich vintage vibes but make it modern. Honestly, it feels classy without being boring, there’s this nice balance between soft and bold.

I don’t like how this smells initially, but it really warms up with the amber as it dries down. It isn’t a huge projector, which I thought it would be the strongest of the 3. It is really pretty to layer with other Jo Malone Rose scents to warm them up.

Quite interesting. On first skin spray; getting Turkish ‘delight’ - a Turkish rose with an edge. As it dries down the cloying Turkish delight gives way to a violetesque presence; definitely violet. There is no reference to a violet in the notes but the aroma chemicals these days pull in odd ways for each of us - it’s so personal. As it dries down more it’s disappearing rapidly. For me, the rose passes intensely and after ten minutes we are left with an amber floral with a violet edge - think that is the ginger mixing chemically with the rose and pepper. I am getting a slight bitterness; almost vinegar but only as the dry down is past and I’ve been wearing it for 30 mins or so. I think that is the ginger and clove with the patchouli. The patchouli is very laid back; hardly registering for me.. Pleasant enough if you enjoy a rampant rose floral with warm violets amber dry down that spirits itself away, rapidly to a slightly bitter ginger rose. I have the various rose 3 x 9ml size recently launched for spring. Not sure I’d commit to a full size. Jo Malone colognes are skin scents for me - it’s how my body processes them - no projection; just an experience for me personally to enjoy.

I ordered this wondering if it might be the same as Tudor Rose & Amber and please to report they are the same scent. In my opinion Tudor Rose is one of the best rose perfumes Jo Malone released during the last decade so if you don't have it, make sure to check this one out.
