Tuberose Angelica Rich Extrait

If you see this rich extract version of Jo Malone’s Tuberose Angelica in store, buy it, as some stores have never had the pleasure of stocking it, some state it’s sold out, or are convinced it’s only sold at airports or Harrods, and some stores have only ever been sent 2 bottles. You’ll notice that the other 2 Rich Extracts are sometimes in stock, but the Tuberose Angelica is an elusive scent that’s worth grabbing. Understand that there are 3 incarnations of Tuberose Angelica - 2 are twin sisters, 1 is a cousin. The normal Tuberose Angelica INTENSE (with the SILVER lid) is always available and is possibly the most wearable (non-screechy) tuberose ever and (in my opinion, is the best creation from the usual short longevity Jo Malone fragrance range). The second version is a limited edition with an ornate gold and black pattern on the bottle with a GOLD lid. This version smells exactly the same, just with a different bottle design and was limited to exclusive department stores. Then there’s the RICH EXTRACT version which is an entirely different formulation. This is a rare, sold out in most places, limited edition Rich Extract version of this fragrance (with a BLACK lid and silver floral design bottle). It’s reformulated with added vanilla and various other notes to make it smell richer, more rounded and balanced and is super-long lasting in comparison (it’s also a lot more expensive at £176). I splash the normal version around like water but this RICH EXTRACT lasted on my clothes days later after just one spray. It’s longevity is out of this world and well worth the extra cost. How does it smell different? It smells more grown-up and is more niche to wear than the user-friendly regular version. It’s more cloying as it hangs around with relentless silage projecting screechy and opinionated tuberose than the regular version. It’s a white floral with a sour green tang that makes your mouth water for more. I’m not going to do the obvious and compare it to Fracas but I will compare it to Armani Prive’s ‘Rouge Malachite’ with how the white florals dance around boldly in a very contemporary way with zero vintage vibe. I do love this rich extract as it’s a rich bouquet of bold and modernist white florals, but I prefer coming back to the crowd-pleasing regular Tuberose Angelica as it’s like the reliable and loving husband compared to the exciting but risqué lover. This was only sold in as a limited edition in Harrods, Selfridges and airports originally, but you can’t even find it in these places anymore. I thought it was gone forever, then I found it in the Leeds boutique as they explained they were only sent 2 bottles. If you see it, smell it, buy it and you won’t regret it.

Jo Malone Tuberose Angelica, Rich Extract Extrait (A98, USD 144, September 2018) Full Review on May 9, 2024 Sometimes, when I come back to my previous review. I feel a bit cling. “What do I write...?” I asked myself. But then I smile, it is the journey anyway and it is still growing. I am deep in White Floral now. Name it, I like most of them. But JML Tuberose & Angelica (Extrait format) is definitely a treasure in this realm. Forget your standard JoMalone manner, this is sinfully strong. Like, STORNG. I think this is at least 3 times stronger than Cologne Intense line that I do own a few. JML Tuberose & Angelica. Shows me how perfect Tuberose scent can be, Pollen Spiciness, Carnal Indolic and Fresh Greenness. This contains all. It kept projecting non-stop more than 5-6 hours to the point that I may think sometimes... that’s too much. I think this version (only) can tier up to Carnal Flower as this is as true as Tuberose can be. Only down point that you sort of able to sniff the mild Chemical base at the very back. Ambroxan, to be specific but in the air, I don’t think it affect overall experience. However, I know price of this version is very various. If you see her in any nook, in any conner at Discounter. Please bring her home if you like natural (and STRONG) Tuberose profile. This is best one in my collection. (To this certain profile), imho Full bottle Worthy. 9.5/10 ===== First Impression on June 18, 2023 After I venture to L'interdit by Givenchy and using few fragrance contains Tuberose nose, I find Tuberose quite pleasant and wish to venture future. Maybe, this borderline tolerant of Tuberose for me. I finds this stay true to Tuberose, for Animalic, Carnal aspect. However, that smooth creamy base really help a lot andd I do get something, how can I say - may be green and pollen like? I quite sure that it is not Ylang-Ylang, I sniff that in few fragrance before. Maybe it is Angelica, but it do show prominently on my skin. As of now, my feeling is quite mix, but I quite like it. It is somewhat remind me of "Diorissimo by Dior" I will probably keep her in my collection for now. After 3 times testing, I will definitely understand her more. TO BE SCORE as this is not keen to my olfactive. I will probably venture DOSON next

First of all, a HUGE thank you to EmmaSmells and her review, because she was the reason I pulled the trigger on this. I have loved the composition of Tuberose Angelica and wrote a review of how this accord was completely lost on my skin, its performance is dismal. Now, this! This is an entirely different beast altogether. It is reminiscent of the original certainly, but only as an homage. This is much closer to Carnal Flower, which used to be my signature scent but I was one of the unlucky ones that got a very limited, faint performance out of it as well. It was too expensive a habit to keep up. While CF and this are very close indeed, this does not have the creaminess of coconut. It's distinctly sharp and drier, but still animalic; with tuberose that's almost inevitable. I don't get huge green undertones, more medicinal. It's also close to Fracas but is a much more mature composition, a sophisticated tuberose bomb. Because of the vanilla and ylang-ylang notes, I was afraid that it would be too sweet (this was a blind buy, as I found it heavily reduced in price and couldn't pass it up) but it is not. The notes are there to give the tuberose its super-strong legs and smooth it out, they don't steal the show. Performance is unbelievable on me. Although I'm not a minimalist, I apply STRICTLY a half-spray behind each ear and touch with my wrists, otherwise it's a tornado. In the club that might be a good thing, but my clubbing days are long gone. A (teeny tiny) little goes a long way, which I guess is great news considering the price.

If you love tuberose, you'll love this fragrance. I'm a big fan of tuberose notes, and this is the pinnacle of every tuberose perfume out there. It's also realistic and pretty linear throughout the day. Like most tuberose fragrance, this smells very sexy in a primal level. It's really easy to layer too. My favorite pair is Tuberose Angelica + For Her by Narciso Rodriguez. Basically, if you pair this with white musk fragrance, it turns into a whole other level of seductive— it's crazy animalic and intoxicating. Its performance is the opposite of most Jo Malone perfumes. This is very long lasting. While the sillage is not full on beast mode, it still has a pretty strong sillage. 100% get this if you have the chance to. It's very versatile— you can either wear it on its own or layer it with other fragrances. Either way, it's a beautiful fragrance in a beautiful bottle.

Confession: I haven't tried either of the other two versions. In general my skin eats up the already widely accepted terrible longevity of Jo Malones into body mist territory. However, thanks to Emma's wonderful review below I decided to give this one a go~ It's wonderful. The mix of angelica and tuberose is perfect. Not too green, too camphorous and not too much sweetness from the vanilla. I'm not sure what "rich extrait" is...but whatever it is it does seem to have successfully at least elevate this one to a normal EDP status; which is at least worth the price (for a change)

Got this because I love tuberose and wonder what angelica smells like. On skin I only smell tuberose throughout. On clothing I get a slightly light green top note which doesn’t last long and then tuberose all the way. So I guess that’s what angelica smells like. Rather elusive. And it’s not ylang-ylang cause I know what it smells like and I don’t smell that in this perfume. I owns quite a few tuberose-based perfumes and Tuberose and Angelica Rich Extrait smells rather flat compared to my favorite Tuberose Nue which seems much richer and full bodied. Another good one I love is J’dore Infinissime. For gents who might find this too flowery, I suggest layering it with another perfume. I like layering mine with Ombre Leather.

Ooh, I love Jo Malone's Tuberose Angelica, I can't wait to try this new pumped up version. I'm a sucker for a creamy , bold tuberose.
