Waterlily Cologne

Jo Malone's Limited Edition Waterlily Cologne from their Blossoms 2020 Collection is the perfect fragrance for summer time, espcially if you happen to live in a tropical humid and hot climate. The scent is a bright white floral that has hints of green and aqua. Sillage, projection and longevity is very good and the scent is refreshing, invigorating and light but with substance. I literally get complimented every time I wear this. The glass bottle has a frosted white finish and looks simple and elegant. I have been using it on rotation quite frequently and really hope they will consider adding this to their permanent line-up, cause otherwise I’ll be forced to find a back up of this. 10/10! Update: I added it to my favorites shelf - I ALWAYS get complimented when I wear this!

This is my go-to perfume. I love the balanced scent of waterlily, with a bit of grassiness, and I can personally detect a touch of sweetness in the base. The aquatic note isn't overpowering; it's just slightly green. When I look at the 'Lady of Shalott' painting, I imagine this is how she would smell.

Its a very Delicate, light floral scent. I would say this one is a fuller body of "London Rain and Angelica", greener version of "Wood sage and Salt". Do feel like a Green fairy in spring while wearing this. Not usually a fan of this type of scent but i must say i Love it Very much !!!!!!

my signature scent! hope jo malone will relaunch this beautiful scent. smells like watery flowers combined with neroli. the waterlily appears really smooth combine with jasmine. sillage, projection, and longevity is really great on me. everytime i use this, my mood just goes up :) 11/10

Aquatic and floral. Smells like a sunny spring day on a beautiful lake.

On skin, the waterlily and jasmine appear together, totally blended and with a very slight hint of neroli on the periphery. On clothing, the musk appears first, slightly bitter. It takes quite a while for the other floral notes to break through that bitterness. When breakthrough, the scent seems warmer than on the scent on the skin. So, this is a first for me, this first perfume that should be worn on skin and not on the clothing. The longevity is very typical JM. A rather short lives silage and an extended skin scent (8+hrs). As to being true to the name, it does resemble some of my waterlilies, but as waterlilies have various scents, I can only say that this is a close caption of the typical variety. I probably will be layering it with some other perfume to blend it to my likings.

This may smell great on some, but, on me it was a nice Neroli, barely detected waterlily, or it’s scent is not at all what I thought, and I never smelled jasmine. I did not prefer a green sour note on me. If you have a chance, try this one before buying.

It is a sharp in your face aquatic waterlily scent, leaning on a bit of bitter side for me. Some days just good to have something less fruityfloral (even though this is waterlily) and not necessarily woody/amber. Not long lasting (max 2 hours)

Wow I love this so much more than I expected. So fresh and green and crisp. Photorealistic waterlily to my mind. I’m surprised so many people voted that this leans feminine, I find it to be very balanced and genderless.

Waterlily smells like a relaxing day in a natural Florida spring. This scent is very cozy, and leaves a nice scent trail. This does well in the Florida humidity, I am going to wear this all summer.

I found the dry down very oriental, with a watery fresh pond-like note and hints of salt, cool cucumber and metal... I like it

Waterlily is... alright. I don't hate it, it's just not my cup of tea, I guess. The floral scent in this one is pretty generic. I find the top and middle notes very harsh on my skin. The dry down more pleasant. If you like overload flower power bathed in sunny lake water this could work for you. It's a no for me becaus only finding the dry down pleasant is just not good enough. I can't imagine myself wearing this anywhere.

Very delicate and realistic waterlily scent but personally don't like the aqua note and find it repulsive. The aqua note disappears in colder weather, makes it more bearable and quite unique. Good for layering. Looking to swap if interested, based in Australia

Smells like a wet bathroom - musty, watery, with a hit of urine accentuated by a floral air freshener that needs to be changed. This is definitely aquatic forward and I am nauseated by the neroli in this - almost sour and very green. Almost like a cucumber, but a little less fresh.

Not what I expected, but a truly enjoyable and unique fragrance! Opens with a very satisfying sharp, green neroli, with the aquatic nature of the waterlily immediately detectable. Very fresh, citrus-y, and completely unisex. As it dries down, the waterlily becomes more prominent, accompanied by jasmine. At this stage, it also has a slight nectar-y sweetness that gives the feeling of honeysuckle. Beautiful. Thankfully, there is also no calone fishiness or bitterness on my skin. After about an hour and a half, it goes in a completely different direction. The base is a vintage smelling floral bouquet: pink roses, violets, and slightly powdery white musk. It's very dry, and has none of the aquatic dewiness of the opening. It's lovely, and not something you'd expect after the fresh opening. It's a beautiful fragrance, but not the waterlily/lotus I'm searching for!

The neroli comes off as very grassy, which isn't something I usually experience with other neroli frags. Frankly, I find it off-putting, as I much prefer/am used to the soapy element of neroli. It moves into the aquatic feel of waterlily, which is okay...but I think it lacks a refinement/sophistication that I have found or could find elsewhere.

I just received my bottle of waterlily, and I think at first sniff it reminded me a lot of davidoff cool water. I don't mean to diminish the overall quality of jml fragrances, but this is definitely an aquatic first and a floral second. I like it, but I would definitely have to layer it, for my purposes, with something that is more of a floral.
