Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne

Pleasantly opens up with clear aquatic and herb garden scent leaving lingering soft musk. Not over powering, very refreshing and cool. reminds me of walking on the beach bare foot, garden of sage and lavender in sunny day and drinking crisp californian sauvignon blanc in linen outfit. Comforting and easy to wair. Not very long lasting.

Having gone through multiple bottles of the original Wood Sage& Sea Salt, I practically ran to the store when this collection dropped expecting something familiar yet slightly different, but no. It’s the same thing. Still a 10/10 for me in terms of the scent though.

You can hardly smell this. And the scent is not WOW enough to justify a bottle honestly.

Okay so I went against the general consensus and am aware of people saying it doesn’t last! I gave into temptation and bought a large 100ml. I bought the limited edition as it’s beautiful and some reviews have mentioned it lasts longer. I went for it as I recently bought the hair mist in the normal edition (so v. Slight variation) and it really lasts, I thought this was less of a commitment to try first. I have accepted that this won’t have the stamina of most perfumes necessarily and will just reapply if necessary and apply hair mist too. I decided to go for it as I love the fresh smell and I know the limited edition won’t be around for too long. I love ambrette and I love sea salt. Sage I do like but more as a candle/ household smell but I do still like it. Will update more once given it a few wears. If anyone is interested in still getting the limited edition blue cap I got mine on net-a-porter.

This is nice, but nothing special. Certainly nothing justifying the price tag for the full size bottle (though your mileage may vary on the smaller sizes). Most of the accords listed here are a mystery to me. Floral? Herbal? Aromatic? Soft spicy? Marine? What are these people smelling? This honestly smells like a run-of-the-mill coconut beachy fragrance without any sweet notes. I'm really surprised coconut isn't a note here. It doens't smell marine or sage to me at all, really just ambrette and coconut with maybe a mineralic but not salty tinge. A very light scent, though to me it seems to have moderate lasting power for something so delicate. Smells like an expensive room spray, which is essentially what it is. 7.5/10.

I love this scent profile so much and would buy a full bottle if the scent lasted for more than 2 hours. A friend of mine has a non-limited bottle of this and it seems to last even less than this one. I'm not sure whether Jo Malone intentionally tried to increase the lasting power of this one. They smell the same, though. I usually wear this one to the office since it doesn't overwhelm anyone and doesn't fill up the room. I think having the 30ml bottle of this is the best option since that one's easy to bring with you.

Great scent but it is gone soon as it is dry which makes it totally not worth it.
