Yellow Hibiscus

Smells clean, fresh, floral, feminine... It's nice! I would agree that it's slightly familiar but there is always a very realistic element to Jo Malone's florals that takes it up a notch. It could be a completely familiar scent profile overall but the quality of materials used is superior.

It smells feminine clean and fresh, perfect for summer, love it but super hard to find in stores :(

Very pleasant and likeable floral, nothing unique. Good for everyday. I get a lot of compliments with this one. Only wish as with most Jo Malone florals is better longevity. Unfortunately I cannot wear this anymore as it reminds me of a period where I was bullied by my bosses at work and I was later diagnosed with depression due to that.

Admittedly it does smell pretty simple and even a little generic, but it opens with a yummy floral/fruity hibiscus scent that I couldn't get enough of when I tested this in store. On my skin, the rose and musk notes really come out strongly in the dry down. A straightforward clean floral scent, inoffensive and pleasant.

I love this one! The first spray is filled with an overpowering citrus-floral scent but when it dries down it becomes so pretty. This one reminds me of a sunny day on the coast, wearing a flower necklace, bringing a clean and delighted feeling. I like this one more than the Frangipani Flower in the same collection.

On my skin the opening is lime and hibiscus creating a "tea" like effect. After several minutes the rose adds some muskiness/powdery notes. This is a simple but good fresh scent for summer. PD: keep in mind this is a 'cologne', meaning it's very light.

This smells almost identical to red roses from Jo Malone. I have both and this one is a little more clean and fresh. Almost smells like clean cotton/linen. I definitely prefer red roses. This would be great to layer with other things as it is so light.

Smells wonderful. I'm not sure why it isn't rated higher but I'm not complaining since more people would like to buy it. It smells clean and feminine. A perfect choice for a signature scent as it isn't overpowering and is personal and close.

Somehow the sum of these notes adds up to floral laundry detergent. Not unpleasant, just strongly clean smelling.

This perfume is the embodiment of the song "In These Shoes?" by the late Kirsty MacColl. The video is very funny, but I think it trashes up the sound of the song, because her sultry voice, and classic brass melody is more upmarket than the somewhat tacky women in the video. That said, I imagine MacColl singing in a nice club, with a chic black floor length dress, and this JM Yellow Hibiscus scent. I imagine she procured it from a vintage source... like it used to be popular in the 50s from a Hitchcock starlette, though not the blonde leads, one of the brunette supporting actresses, full of looks and privilege, and much better luck than his blondes. (Kristy was a brunette. RIP, Kristy, who died saving her son.)

This perfume plays best in the sun. Sometimes it smells pretty basic. Other times, if you’re breaking a sweat in the heat of the summer, it turns into something much more fun! I wore this on vacation in Florida and I fell in love with it. Once I got the bottle, it just didn’t smell the same. So summertime is definitely when you want to wear this to get the best performance.

Laundry day. That’s what Jo Malone’s Yellow Hibiscus smells like. It’s not rated higher because I think it’s a typical “perfumey” smell. Meaning it feels generic.
