TOP NOTES: tangerine, black currant, red apple , melon, dried fruits MIDDLE NOTES : jasmine, sandalwood, cloves, rose, lily of the valley BASE NOTES: oakmoss, musk, sea water Johan B Private is actually a chypre. A delightfully modern blend, but has nothing unnatural , syrupy, candylike, or too sweet here. It opens with delicious, naturally sweet rich fruits, and the red apple is prominent. There are soft cloves and spicy cinnamon mixed into the blend. Next, the base notes rush forth, with a blend of oakmoss , and musk, accented strongly by melon, to give this phase a rich, deep, yet uplifting effect. Next, the florals make their appearance, wafting through the air like a fresh sweet floral bouquet. The basenotes retreat to the background while the ever present red apple and soft cinnamon swirl around the floral bouquet. Later, the basenotes come back to the forefront. Minutes later, the soft spicy cinnamon, rich red apple, fruits and florals take turns in the dance. This chypre is constantly changing as you wear it, swirling, whirling, as each accord takes its turn wafting to the forefront, then retreating, then reappearing within minutes. Notes are constantly moving, blending and re-blending. The overall effect is strong, alive, yet soft, smooth, constantly interesting and delicioulsly appealing. FINALLY, a modern perfume with great silage and longevity ! Silage is moderate for the first 8 hours, then settles to a skin scent. Longevity is easily 12+ hours or more, with the first 8 hours being the most noticeably active. It's amazing to find this perfume at such a reasonable price !. Johan B Private could very very easily be mistaken for an exhorbitantly expensive niche perfume. Here, we get the modern sweet yet natural fruits blend, soft spices, gorgeous natural florals , plus rich, strong, deep, yet magically uplifting oakmoss and musk . This is definitely worth experiencing for those who love a most fascinating, extremely pleasing, modern chypre . This perfume is truly a masterful work of art , a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. I LOVE Johan B Private !

this is definitely vintage in smell and the fruits read as a musty rotten peach with bitter oakmoss, indistinct maybe sour rose and some white musk not the lovely notes listed above; I blind bought it, sprayed once and regretted my purchase; I love vintages but no this type
