Joop! Homme Red King

This is a really lovely fragrance. It is to a degree simular to Black King but is naturally different. Out of the two I would say Black King is my preferred choice but Red King does has its own qualities. Black King out performs Red in both longevity and projection on my skin but this is really nice smelling scent that all who buy it will really appreciate it! 8 out of 10 for me where Black King gets an 8.5!!!

To be honest, my mind is all over the place with this one. Firstly, I absolutely love the magnificent glossy lacquered scarlet bottle (and it might be worth buying just for this reason alone). However I also have to agree with the comments below that this is a hideous "chemical mess" - at the beginning. But persevere, and after one to two hours it redeems itself considerably as it dries down into an alluring spicy sweet woody scent that's similar to the original Joop! Homme, but more "civilised" than it in terms of projection. By this point I like it very much and thankfully the dry down lasts impressively and can even be smelt faintly on the skin after +12 hours from spraying. Do I like it? Yes I don't. Will I get it? No I will. :-S

Thumbs up to Joop's RED KING!I could kiddingly call it JOOP-SPICE, but it does have its merits.Those being: the great Joop Homme base scent and the cinnamon and chili scent makes it something different! It won't be to everyone's tastes to wear but R.K. will draw inquires & compliments! R.K. will definitely be a star for me this Fall & Winter, R.K. is suitable for most non-formal occasions, it's a roguish/naughty boy kind of fragrance.I've waited for a while to get a bottle of this and BLACK KING; now that I both I am very pleased with both blind buys!Definitely will buy another bottle while they last!Try before you buy if possible, but I feel like I've gotten more than my money's worth for it! TRUTH!

Just a cheap cash-in, there's just a hint of Joop! Homme, which is nowadays only a hint of what it used to be. Oh well, enough said... *

Possibly the most disgusting thing I have ever tried, I cannot believe this is on the market, awful chemical mess.

I fail to see how this is much of new direction for Joop Homme? It smells pretty similar to the original to me, and could be more accurately described as a tweaked, substandard version of a fragrance which is many folk don't like anyway. I'm not totally against Joop, I used to like it years ago and I don't find the new formulations to be anywhere near as potent. (dunno whether that's a good or bad thing?) Perhaps my tastes have become more refined but I find Joop Homme a messy construction. Red King is too. Really powdered feel to this with the cinnamon and perhaps pimento to liven it up in the opening. Strangely I find it cold and bit flat, probably not what they were going for. Make no mistake I'm not apposed to a chemical soup of this nature, the likes of Davidoff Hot Water for example which has a time and place for me. However this doesn't make me think, 'oh Wow! (no pun intended regarding Joop's other new release) this fragrance has rebooted and revitalized the Homme line.' Again I think this was the intention more than likely. It's definitely different from the original when it dries down there is more of a lighter feel which probably comes from the floral, orange blossom. I'm not sure this works? I've only tried it once mind so another wear and an update to this review is on the cards but I can't see how it's going to suddenly become an inspired scent.

I am very familiar with the original Joop Homme as it is the signature scent of my significant other. It is one sweet masculine that I really enjoy smelling, especially when blended with his skin chemistry. Amongst the numerous Joop Homme flankers that line the shelves, I spied this bright red bottle whilst out Christmas shopping and decided to test to see how it compared with the original. There are some subtle similarities, but for the most part Joop Homme Red King is not as sweet as its predecessor. The cinnamon note dominates much of the composition adding an alluring spicy scent. Cedarwood and patchouli in turn provide a musky, masculine finish to a rather seductive fragrance. Joop Homme Red King is not as bold as the original, yet it still projects strongly on the skin. It's borderline unisex in my opinion, so I wouldn't discredit a woman for being game enough to give this fragrance a chance on their own skin. I am yet to try Joop Homme Black King, but so far I am impressed by these new release flankers. If my partner permitted I would probably try and convince him to let me buy every single Joop flanker just to expand his collection even more. I hope to be sneaky enough to add Joop Homme Red King to his collection before an imminent discontinuation.

I tried this yesterday and found it to ve wonderful. I was stopped in a supermarket after spraying it on by a lady who said she thought I smelt amazing, wanted to know what it was and said she was going to buy it for herself. I do find it a bit feminine but still masculine. Starts of spicy, oriental. Dries down to a creamy version of Joop Homme. I thought the quality of this fragrance was pretty good. Thoroughly enjoyed wearing it and will probably get a bottle seeing as its a limited edition. Good stuff. As for longevity etc I cant say. I can say I can still smell it on my clothes and it smells great. Projection, seemed to be good. I got constant whiffs of it but it wasnt overwhelming. It was a sensual, alluring winter scent with strong hints of the Joop Homme DNA but not abrasive or harsh like the original.

I'm a big fan of this because the opening is such a good one, very spicy. It's one you wear every once in a while. But it's handy because you can wear this in many places like the office or out and about. Like a classic flanker. The scent then has a dry down which is a bit mediocre but I love that sweet Joop base notes afterwards. The bottle is amazing and smacks of character. I'm biased because aside from Joop splash. I've got nearly all of the Joop line. But this is one of the gens in the new joop.oine which is hit and miss..it's wierd though. This came with black king but the more obvious complement is with Joop Ice.

Well then. I think this is a yummy addition to the Joop line. Red King is spicy, fruity, long lasting and (this is the most important)....memorable. I just has a spritz of this in U.K. store. I want this as soon as possible.

CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL THIS COMES TO AMERICA. I'm not blind buying anymore Fragrances...I'll wait. But my patience is running thin.
