Joop! Homme Sport

Not sure about the comparisons to Le beau male JPG but I do enjoy this one.. I love the original Joop and like all frags except the green one, I think it was Joop jump or go. This one has that same authentic punch to the face that the original has but it goes about it in a different way. It was almost a dislike for me at first, but once that mint started to pop this was a love for me. In some ways it reminds me of Calvin Klein Encounter Fresh. It’s not a clone or a dupe, but you’ll pick up similarities. It almost seems like a minty boozy mojiito smell, but there is no booze in the notes. Performance is slightly above average, I get about 6 to 7 hours with this stuff and the compliments I receive are truly unsolicited compliments wherever I go. This is a solid 8/10 for me, well above average.

Got a 4.2oz for a good price on a fragrance site as my Husband likes Joop! and wanted to try a flanker. We live in Florida, so I figured this was the perfect option. We both really like it! I would say for this particular cologne the group is spot on, it is aquatic and has a more aromatic edge due to the ginger, mint, bergamot and orange blossom. The leather gives it that slight powder/clean/fresh smell you get from the original JOOP! but its blue and aquatic and sea salty. My Husbands chemistry really makes the mint top stand out, on me I get more of the ginger and the citrus. Sometimes aquatics make me feel a bit queasy, however this is refreshing. Highly recommend and safe blind buy if you want an aquatic and you like the original JOOP!

I like this. It's less sweet and cloying than the original but retains just a hint of its DNA in the dry down. I think it's a really successful combination of the spicy ginger, the sea salt, the mint, and aquatic notes. I normally don't like "sport" flankers but Antoine Lie has created a superior one.

A fresh minty aquatic with a zingy start and a typical generic dry down for a sport scent, but there an exception with this one, I tried the dior sport 2017 along side with this joop sport and the joop beat out the dior in longevity at least an additional 2 hours, sometimes we judge some scents a little too premature and not allow time to let us know more about a product. I got about 6 hours of performance with joop sport,by the 4th hour it faded but the scent continued to be a strong skin scent, the dior sport 2017 took a total fart in the 4th hour.so the Joop homme sport went home with me and it will be a gym bag scent to be enjoyed in the future.

Look. I admit it. I have a Joop addiction. I can't get enough of it except for that rubbish orange one. And this to me is like what Dylan blue is meant to be but just isn't. Performance and sillage are average. I think that's been the case for this iteration of the Joop brand of scents. But this scent opening is lush. minty bergamot and what feels like lime. Drydown is almost wearing the original Lancaster Joop again. I don't know. This is an average scent for most people but aside from ice. This is one the best for the small cliche band of Joop troops

A few days ago, I stopped in a local flower shop that I'd never visited before. The beautiful green-eyed shopkeeper greeted me with smiles and hugs and offered me a giant bowl of Fruity Pebbles while I perused her inventory of vibrant arrangements. I remember hearing Cruel Summer playing overhead. The shopkeeper's breath was Tic-Tac fresh and her hair smelled faintly of vanilla. I lingered in the shop for hours, maybe even days. All I really know is that I never wanted to leave. That's exactly what this smells like.

wore it over the summer 2019. good performance and longevity for a summer scent, great price (got the 200ml). i get the mint, the sea salt, sea note blast. dries down slightly sweet, the sea salt and sea notes still strong. easy to wear for casual events. easy blind buy. you have to like salty fragrances tho. spring/summer banger.

Update: The drydown reminds me of Vera Wang for men. Not a bad thing IMO A pleasant and fresh scent. Its a cheapie where i live but it performs really well. Great longevity and descent sillage. A fun summerfrag, not so much connected to sports IMO. The bottle is horrible tho, but its whats inside that counts :)

This is a really pleasant addition to the line. Really fresh and sweet smelling and a definite late Spring/Summer/early Autumn fragrance, and especially a bright kinda day. Silage is okay and longevity is just above average but overall, one well worth having in you collection. 8 out of 10 for me👍☀️😎!

Good value for money, not so sweet and aggressive as the original. I like the "salty" nuance. The "Sport" part of the bottle looks very cheap and ugly. Overall I am pleasantly surprised for this price and can recommend it. Also the deo-stick is very good for me.

Got interested in this after reading @curt42's comment. Decided to give it a try. Definitely disappointed, but not as much as I thought. It's not bad, but yeah, limited use, cheeky, yet boring fragrance. But it's cheap, (got a 200ml for $40) so who cares.

To me, a stronger version of Hugo boss iced with added bergamot. A dry mint/bergamot fragrance with good projection and longevity, a nice try of a summer scent from Joop! A ageless yet casual only scent IMO, but Jump is a better summer scent IMO

fresh, spicy, rather interresting take on a sporty fragrance. a typical joop. 5/10 soundtrack: die sterne - big in berlin.

plesant candy smelling fragrance, not very sporty tho, more of a beach scent for younger men.

Not much that's surprising here if you're even the faintest bit familiar with the house of Joop. This does NOT smell like the original Joop Homme but it checks all the other boxes: loud, youthful, playful, and synthetic-smelling. Biiiiig blast of mint and bergamot in the opening makes this an invigorating fragrance. It quickly dries down to a salty mix of sea water with some orange blossom swirled in there. Not "sporty" in the traditional sense, but again, this is Joop we're talking about here, so there's bound to be some sweetness. I don't find this fragrance much to write home about, but it's pleasant enough. If you are a fan of the original and want a similar vibe for a summer-leaning fragrance, I think this one would suit you.

I am so utterly disappointed by this, there's a sharpness to the opening that is rather pleasant, but as it dries down it becomes so generic, aquatic definitely, a little similar in a way to Le Male Terrible, that aquatic minty vibe. Sadly this didn't do it for me, expected so much more.

Joop! sell out, and this one is the latest in a series of fragrances that smell even cheaper than they are. *

A more modern version of Individuel by Mont Blanc. I can't believe this hasn't been pointed out more

Joop Homme sport 2 sprays at 6pm on a warn evening 6:10pm - The smell is faint but the sillage is strong I love the mint note in this. Overall really does smell like Creed Original Santal so far. 7:00pm - smells a little salty now still like original Santal but the mint is very faint. Projects not far from my skin. 8:00pm - very faint now, could be due to number of sprays which is 2 in this case, lemony-salty vibe, very reminiscent of Aqva Amara 1am (7 hours later) - after shower, I still get a salty lemon aqva-amara vibe but it's barely projection and sits really close to the skin. If you stick your nose right up there it does smell pretty strong. Overall, this sits close to the skin after 1 hour and not a personal favourite after an hour, if it performed better after the 1 hour mark this might've been a constant rotation for the summer. Le Male (4 sprays) at 6pm on a warm evening. 6:10pm - The smell is strong and sillage, very strong 8:00pm - still projecting well off the skin, I can smell it very clearly 10pm - skin scent now. 1am (7 hours later) - after shower, still smell it though it is very faint, even fainter than the joope Homme sport, although this was much stronger in the beginning stages. Overall, it projects very well for 4-5 hours and because of the smell, a definite favourite. Note: I'm already biased to this one and it has been on my purchase list for a month now.

I bought Joop Homme Sport for my partner last Christmas as we sweltered through yet another hot December. He's a die-hard Joop Homme fan, and as much as I love the way it smells on him, I couldn't get through another Summer being suffocated by it. I thought Joop Homme Sport would be a safer alternative, and whilst it is definitely more warm weather appropriate, I was slightly disappointed that it lacked much of the original Joop Homme DNA. Joop Homme Sport is a salty and citrusy aquatic with a dash of green, herbaceous mint. There is very little sweetness in this composition, with only a subtle hint of tonka bean in the drydown adding a vanillary touch. I was admittedly disappointed with my purchase, however my partner loves Joop Homme Sport and he has worn it on multiple occasions. In a way it's unlike anything else in his collection, as he's not one to wear many aquatics or fresh scents. Joop Homme Sport has become his easy grab and go for Summer and for when he goes to the gym. The projection of Joop Homme Sport is actually quite bold and longevity just as impressive. It's important to go easy on the sprays, as it has just as much throw as the original Joop Homme.

★★1⁄2 Found it at the Fragrance Shop in Westfield Sheperd's Bush. (couldn't find it anywhere else) Very pleasant, clearly related to the original and it is truly a fresher version. The opening is minty and refreshing and it evolves to a sea water vibe. The middle phase isn't as salty as I expected, it's a little sweet and I can detect the original's cinnamon note although it's not listed. The problem is that although it is very pleasant there's nothing new here, and both the sillage and longevity are lacking. Antoine Lie is a very experienced nose and you can tell that this is balanced, but I guess there was not much room for creativity when you are working on a product for a company like Joop. It is a crowd pleaser, not sure it's sexy enough for men to "score" as the commercial suggests. It's just young and pleasant. Try and count how many fragrances like that have been available for years. I'd score with New West instead!

I didn't own any Joops and wanted one but stumbled on this one. Cool bottle and has mostly good reviews. I just purchased this and blind bought if for $25 bucks and it was worth it. The opening is so good with that sweet (not sickly like the original) mint. It does turn mint bubble gum/toothpaste-ish but it really is nice. After a minute, it starts to start turning into more like a Mont Blanc individual like scent as it gives me this warm laundry smell (good way). The Dry down imo, is where this one sort of a let down. It felt like a synthetic lavender (not listed) which it can be really bad for those that are sensitive to thst note. This fragrances is sort of like JPG Le Male with that lavender mint and MBI with that dryer sheet scent. Not nearly as powerful as this original counterpart...which I like.

I really like this. I didn't at first, until I realized how to use it. The strong mint/ginger/leather combo was too odd to wear as a skin scent, but I kept really enjoying the ultra fresh, sillage bubble after spraying. So now I keep it in a dry drawer in my bathroom and launch a few sprays into the air everyday. You walk in my bathroom, and I have had several people comment on this, the scent is amazing. Of course, I won't tell them what it is...shhhhhh. As strong as the notes are, you only need a couple sprays and at $30 US or less the result is worth it. In fact, I should stock up on a couple more bottles.

This is not sport or summer fragrance! Yes it has mint, but the base is overpowering. The base is the original Joop Homme with a little twist. It's very strong for summer, not that it last long, but the first two hours are strong and headache inducing. Maybe cause of that LYRAL note, like one Fragrantica member mention. I also feel that heaviness in Joop Go, maybe I'm too sensitive to that note. So, it's has good notes in the background, otherwise is very similar to the original but with mint. Now is very hot here, so i will try in colder months or at night to see how it will develop.

I liked it a lot when I smelled it on paper but I liked it more when I put it on my skin. It's a very fresh perfume that makes you remember the summer when you put it on. It lasts a lot on the skin, hours and hours, but don't put many sprays because can overwhelm you, with 4 is enough. The aroma is very menthol. Bergamot and ginger are very present in evolution. It's not a very special or unique perfume, because it smells like a typical summery fragrance, fresh and fun, but is a good option to use on a day when you don't know what perfume to wear.

I was really looking forward to this.. just sprayed the tester on paper and skin.Well it opens as expected with a crisp strong minty alcohol spearmint type blast, refreshing and invigorating.Underneath, you still get the original joop homme DNA. But it quickly becomes a skins cent with almost no projection. This could be due to the cold weather but I think this will be a light very airy fragrance. On the paper it stayed crisper for longer but again no projection and limited longevity. Such a shame..

I picked up this a while ago. I am a sucker for Joop! fragrances. I love the original and absolutely love Joop! Wild (the best of the house imho). However, after much deliberation I picked up sport and extreme. Sport is definitely a summer scent. It's light and salty. It smells decent and lasts average for it's category. The bottle and presentation really stands out, a bit kitschy, but still cool. It does remind me of JPG le beau male.

Disagree with @Vapor Trail. This one isn't loud at all. It's pretty quiet actually. 8 sprays and I can just about smell it. It sits pretty close to the skin. It's a very pleasant scent I just wish it was a bit louder. I think this will be gone after an hour. Pretty surprised considering it's Joop and they usually are very loud and shouty.

Opens with prominent fresh mint with sea notes in the back ground. The sea notes are the second most prominent note throughout the life of the fragrance. As the mint settles it goes from a fresh mint to a sweet candied mint because it blinds with the Subtle tonka. The dry down is candied mint and sea notes. Really good performance

I hate to say I’m a 35 yr old man and even I know this is a female magnet for the young generation. Teenagers. The ginger, mint and orange blossoms combo is good. A fresh candy smell. I only notice this in the aquatics section, when I was looking for bvlgari aqua marine. It’s a good buy for young guys.

This is a masterpice, it's not aquatic at all, this is a fresh mint and a hint of the original way in the background, it's powdery and perfect, this is niche. The mint is so strong, the mint is like in Amoage Beach hut man, but this is much more wearable and a little sweet, it's great.

This is just like Joop Homme, but a lighter scent with more versatility. Like a skin scent, but classy and will not offend anyone. If you like Joop Homme, then this may be possible for the office or anywhere really. I think overpriced for what it is, unless you can get it cheaper.

Fresh, soft and pleasant. It is not really unique and it smells a bit cheap, but it is nice. It reminded me of Le Male, but Joop Sport is softer. main notes are mint and sea notes. Is a good choice for summer if you want something inoffensive. Final note: 5/10

Really nice easy-to-wear fragrance. Sweet & salty mint & floral. Not crazy loud and syrupy like the original Joop Homme though you do pick up the DNA very faintly. I bought it because I love the look of the bottle. Not disappointed.

Joop homme sport mainly consists of water notes with a little bit of mint and salt added. Pretty unspectaculair as it doesn't fail to linger a syntetic mess from the background.

I don't hate the fragrance, in fact I'm looking forward to trying it, but my god that is some awful advertising! This will be popular among teenage males in no time!

I just came all over myself and back again in anticipation of this remarkable fragrance and advertising campaign. I love freedom and German ingenuity.

Fresh and spicy, very nice. I think it deserves higher rating than 3.20. Good silage and longevity, and for the price, it is great value.

A minty/salty version from the original Joop! Homme. Unfortunately it doesn ́t have the big longevity or sillage from that one.

Go buy it guys. It's 2016 release, it's new and not been reformulated yet so enjoy the longevity of it till it's reformulated.
