A strong resemblance to Acqua di gio by Armani was my first impression, but with a synthetic watermelon-esque note in place of the lime. I mean "synthetic" in the kindest possible way here. This is a fresh and revitalizing scent with moderate projection. Very sharp (with strong coriander) on the initial spray. After around half an hour this mellows to a spicy, fruity, predominantly aquatic scent on a subtle, smokey, woody base (with a hint of pepper & ..... vaseline? or burning rubber?) Projection is quite subtle after around an hour; it's more of a skin scent as it wears on, but when you do catch a whiff of this, it's very clean & green. Although not listed, I can possibly even sense a bit of cucumber in there. Seems to last around 5-6 hours at the most, which is pretty good. Although it seems simple and perhaps not quite as impressive as other aquatic scents on the market, I do like this one. It has more of a "green" vibe (without smelling like a fresh picnic salad...) than many other aquatics available and with the added bonus of absolutely no floral. (I honestly haven't the foggiest idea what labdanum smells like, but I find no flowers lurking here!) Update: My best friend (whose signature scent this is) and I have noticed that this can take a "chocolate orange" turn, possibly dependent on the weather/temperature. What I previously described as "vaseline" could easily be construed as chocolate orange; especially for anybody who remembers the old chocolate orange range from The Body Shop! This might be a simple scent, but it's fun seeing whether or not the chocolate orange note makes an appearance because it's so unpredictable.

JOOP! Splash........ You sexy Ocean beast you. I bought this coz it was going dirt cheap and I needed a casual weekend fragrance, I purchased this without testing it so when I got home I opened the package and took out the shapely water ripple bottle and pulled on that cool metal cap and sprayed. I was instantly hit with this Fruity Sweet almost pungent blast that made me crinkle my nose, 2 minutes in and I am prisoner to its aquatic fruity wave that I keep getting wafts of. Joop Splash has this definite fruity tartness with a soapy yet oceanic smell, which is how it stays on until the drydown which comes in full at a hour and lasts for another 5 hours. The base of this fragrance is identical to Chanel Homme Sport, which is my Weekends out Summer Signature. Joop Splash has really surprised me to say the least, but hey its from the House Of Joop! So how could it ever possibly be wrong. This cologne is perfect for hot sweaty days and just as perfect for Summer nights. It garners compliments left, right and center, so for a cheaply priced fragrance it is a solid steal. The projection is great with 6 sprays the longevity is around 6 to 7 hours (which is great for an Aquatic type cologne) it is unique in its own right. All in all. A Fruity, Herbal aqua blast that leaves a trail and will have people clamoring to get a whiff of you, Ladies and Guys go wild over this when I have it on. So what are you waiting for??? Grab a bottle, maybe even 3, for this summer be ready to create a SPLASH with JOOP! Splash. 8 out of 10. Move over Chanel Homme Sport, I've found a new Summer Signature.

I must say, wow. This is my first Joop! Aqua/Flanker. It's Very different from Joop! Pour Homme. It's very different. It gives you an Okay 4 to 5 hours(bring a travel atomizer), but sillage isn't huge...a foot or two away from your body. Unless you use more than one spray. I use four; one on each wrist, one one my chest & one spray on my neck. So my sillage is at arm's length for two hours, after that it's a little above the skin...but you can smell it, when you move.... It trails off into other people's noses. I like hearing "Someone smells really good" and then they go searching for the scent. Plus my friends gave me a few hugs at a get-together. And love the scent. Is it a beast, no. But is it worth a second buy, yes. I would suggest you buy a bottle for yourself. 3.8 OZ Bottle, $19.00. Worth it! Age: 25 and up....I picture wearing this, more than 25+. Scent: 6/10 Value: 8/10 (Only cost $19.00 for a 3.8 Oz bottle) Sillage: 6/10 (Arm's length at best) Longevity: 5.5/10 (Four to five hours) Creativity: 6/10 (It's a great clean scent) Versatility: Anytime & anywhere during the spring & summer. Projection: 3/10 (one hour to 90 minutes) Complements: 7/10 (I've gotten five complements today, plus a few wtf is that smell...to the point, where they're looking for the origin of the scent...it's you..what the hell is that...you smell nice:-) I'll take that pick me up anytime.) Update 04/08/2017: Just bought another two bottles of this for the spring and summer. Smells really good and get it before the price goes up for no good reason other than it's spring/summer season.

Ever sit back and wonder why there has never been any "water" offerings from joop!? I'll tell you exactly why. They've taken the time to do it CORRECTLY. This fragrance doesn't try to emulate the smell of a "splash", who would? This fragrance embodies excitement and surprise! I wonder if any of you have even smelled it. This scent starts off with a rude SMASH of fruit and labdanum. Sticky sweet, slick and juicy. The fruit almost has a...Purple vibe to it, so passionate and precise. As it begins to dry you may start to wonder where the wood is. The answer is, the wood begins to perfectly mingle with that ultra sharp pungent fruit, mellowing it, and offering some sort of control. The woods really keep this fragrance from bitch slapping everyone who comes within 10 feet of you XD. The cardamom and coriander offer a direct anchor to the shore of sanity, giving the composition nuttiness and spice. I don't get any "Calone" or "Aqua" from this fragrance in the least. I am SURE of Joop!'s direction with this was to be exciting and refreshing, like a splash ;) Again, i'm VERY skeptical if any of you have smelled it...But to each his own. I had submitted my first impression back in March when I smelled Splash in a perfumery. Yesterday, I was given a sample vial and with it the chance to smell the scent with more time and leisure and no other scents interfering. And I have to say that I do like it much more than I had first thought. I didn't dislike it back in march, but after giving it another try, I can now better appreciate its qualities. It starts fruity, then develops into spicy, aquatic and moderately sweet woody notes while staying very mildly fresh. Maybe it isn't the most sophisticated scent ever created (whatever that might be), but it's a quite delicious casual scent for the younger guys nonetheless. I can't yet comment on longevity, but one hour after application, I don't expect it to excel there - which would be in line with what others said.

Got this today on the cheap. First 5 mins, nothing special, but then.. All there is...is watermelon, bubblegum, watermelon, bubblegum, and more watermelon! Such a clean fragrance, although very linear and a little synthetic. I'd give myself 3 sprays of this once out of a hot shower, or when i'm roaming about the house, or maybe, just maybe on a hot summer's day, but be warned..wearing this on a hot day will definately get too cloying and sickening. Longevity on my skin, i easily get 5-7 hours, projection is moderate, something you'd expect from a fragrance of this caliber. A fairly good job by Joop. Recommend this to the younger crowd, college students maybe.

I was lucky to pick up a bottle on eBay, exactly as I remember when I picked it up back in 2011. It was never a fragrance I loved, but one I remember fondly. It's a very wearable fragrance, one that isn't going to offend anyone, suitable for use in spring and summer months. It opens with spicy, tart notes, then becomes very aquatic, with subtle sandalwood in the base. I'm surprised that ginger isn't in the pyramid, as I detect ginger in there. I love the packaging, very good, and the bottle is terrific. It's a solid fragrance, it doesn't have the wow factor, but it's a nice addition to the collection.

you probably don't know what this fruit smells like, so you might be surprised the first time you smell this perfume, but believe me it's a good choice for summer. my girlfriend likes fresh perfumes and this is one of her favourites. certainly makes people curious, as you have probably never smelt this fragrance before. longevity is mediocre, so it is worth keeping a small bottle with you to freshen up and get the girls interested interesting experience

I have only sprayed it on my hand once and left it there till it was practically gone. What I got was something like watermelon. Not really fresh or clean, more fruity and pretty sweet. I'm no expert, but I'm not sure if I would describe it as woody. Didn't last very long. It probably appeals most to the younger crowd. A nice touch is the bottle that really looks like water.

A nice fruity and fresh scent. Longevity and sillage are both fairly good but, could be better. Great bottle. It does have, to me, an Allure note in there in the drydown. Splash is not really a marine type fragrance for me and, in my opinion, it's mis-named, but it's a nice scent from Joop and it's a grower!

After using Splash for a while now I think that this is a really excellent scent - a real grower - very under-rated. Fresh, fruity, full of character and DOES have that marine note too. It's really gorgeous! (Other review below)

By far the best fragrance to be released from Joop. This one reminds me of a heated pool at night in the middle of a Turkish Summer...Pleasing watermelon/sea vibe, clean, and a great cheapy.

It smells really good and it's totally fresh, it lasts a long time that it actually gives me a headache, that's why my bottle is almost full and it's been in my wardrobe for a year now.

Beautiful scent. Just picked up my second bottle. Really enjoying. Never had anything but compliments on this one.

ooh hello. this one is a rarity and i've never come across Louise Turner before. I should preface by saying that i'm an unapologetic joop fan boy (I do apologise for Wow! though). It took me a long time to find this one. The opening isn't really ok. Unless you know the Cassowary fruit note - you'll think its melon. And people are so bloody weird. Especially in the UK. They go on and on about how they miss the sun, sea and sand of the tropics and the pacific, but they also hate the smells like these fruits. I digress here, you cant change much if you're surrounded by dumb people, its why Lynx was invented so they were catered for. But Cassowary (plum) fruit is an indonesian one giving this an exoticism. But if you dont know , then you won't know. Thing is, the top notes don't last long. The dry down is immaculate. I mean I really like this dry down - its kind of aquatic in the way Acqua di Gio is, but not as citrusy. Its definitely more sea breeze and the woody notes are calming. This isn't a perk up scent, its a calming and relaxing one. Think less Pirates of the Caribbean and more Iggle Piggle on his little boat going to sleep. I'm not really selling it well, i know. But its discontinued anyway, so you aint buying it anytime soon. But the woody notes are brilliant. I'm not sure i catch the joop signature scent in this one. I think thats more in Joop Homme Sport. But there is that kind of spirit of Joop feeling in the warm down. This is good as a skin scent, probably not so good on your clothes. Performance is ok, projection is decent. Bottle reminds me of Wings by Giorgio. Sprayer gives a decent spritz. You could put the 30ml one in your pocket. Now, coming onto pricing. The pricing has got rather ridiculous. This is really a collectors item now. In a retailer, i wouldn't pay more than £25 because im cheap. But as a collectors item, its worth a lot more. Easy to overpay. I hope Joop see the light and relaunch this though, the bottle is basically their silly rocks marketing idea for the alcoholics.

Here is a fragrance very underestimated by everyone. Splash was released in 2011, in collaboration with the team of the Coty company (which retains the JOOP! cosmetics and fragrance licenses since 2008) and came to the market to prove they can also make refreshing scents. Consists of Cassowary fruit note (also known as Cassowary plum), which looks like an egg and is greatly appreciated by the bird of the same name. Although it is poisonous, does no harm to the bird. The fruit has aroma similar to the plumeria (known as frangipani). Besides that, the output also has notes of coriander. In the heart, marine salty notes and green cardamom. At the base, labdanum, cedar and sandalwood. Where do I start? It may seem strange, but this fragrance doesn't have notes of watermelon. However, when touches the skin, that's the smell we feel: watermelon and sparkling water. After about 15 minutes, the fruity smell begins to fade and the evolution shows itself stronger, with marine notes transmitting abundant freshness. Finally, a delicious cedar, embraced to the ambery creaminess of the labdanum, enclosing the evolution of this scent, which I define as aquatic-aromatic. A delight! Every year, I see people struggling to find good fragrances for summer (especially in Brazil), going always for the blue or sport fragrances, filled with citrus notes. And so comes the Joop! House and shows that it is possible to create a refreshing scent, without appealing to nuances of lemon or bergamot. The name is perfect for the concept and the bottle is like the sea and its mild undulations. Amazing!
