Healing Berry

This was the first ever fragrance I smelled from Jorum Studios, and I fell in love at first sniff. ‘Healing Berry’ is fresh, fruity, herbal and floral in the best of ways. It may be because I have the scent’s name in my head, but I feel like a crystal witch with actual healing powers, and let’s be real, that is the actual dream. ‘Healing Berry’ I taste the name and I understand completely. This heals me. No one or nothing has ever given me this effect, this is perfume and nature, hand in hand with a big dose of magic, and I love it. (It is well over a year since I first smelled this and I have since samples a few other of their fragrances (also gems!) and I will say, this is still so unique. And even though not all of the fragrances are my personal favourites, they are all sooo goooood, and so very full of stories and every single one literally transports me into their own little world with their own little feelings and powers. This house is being slept on imho) Back to the perfume - The perfume itself starts of sweet but with a tart edge. It is very fruity and the raspberry is very dominating in the beginning, but it is mellow, like a cup of hot raspberry leaves’ tea. The green-ness of this gives a slight floral touch, but the floral notes are never too stand-out, and is overshadowed by the wildly growing bushes of berries. The almost powdery florals in the background gives a slight soapy touch which helps to give this scent that oomph factor that makes you want to keep on sniffing and sniffing forever. 1 hour into the drydown it is a bit more creamy and sweeter. The herbal-ness has lost its kick, but it is still lingering somewhere in the air. I see that there is mentioned a note of cereal, and the creamy sweet smell that this perfume has turned out to be could be a bowl of cereal with some fresh berries. Though, I would never say that if I didn’t know that it was supposed to be there. And here I am, a dedicated rose-hater, telling you all that the rose in this fragrance is nothing to be afraid of. The rose is way too well blended with the herbs and berries that it is not even there except for the floral touch you get after a couple minutes of wear. And even then, you can’t really tell that it is rose.

A bowl of fresh raspberries and Frosted Flakes (no milk ofc) as an after school snack on your back porch after a long day in middle school. Life is good. The opening of this scent a beautiful, fresh, juicy, and realistic raspberry, black current, mint, with a wonderful green/fir tree backbone. Then as it dries down it gets this nice powdery facet and undeniable sugary corn flake like accord that mixes really well with the berries and green tones. Wow. This opening is really really good. As someone who dibbles and dabbles in making perfumes I can tell you that the fact they got it this realistic is the show of a really talented perfumer, big ups. I really like this scent, especially for spring, but for those who find this to lean too “feminine”, I have layered it on top of more woody/heavy fragrances and it really added a nice fruity touch to the fragrance you’re layering it with. One of my favorite from the Scottish odyssey collection. Very surprisingly good performance with moderate projection throughout the whole wearing. 9.2/10 Song Vibe - L'equilibriste by L'Imperatice

OMG it's an actual fresh berry on the bush! I wasn't sure it was possible to make a scent like this. The artimisia, willowherb, and fern give the impression of the greenery surrounding the berries. This aromatic quality smells very clean, almost soapy to my nose. Somehow it reminds me of many soaps and body powders I smelled in Great Britain and Ireland, so McCall nailed the Scottish Odyssey for me. There's maybe a *hint* of the cereals and orris in the drydown. I smell no mint, rose (thank heavens- so over it in combo with berries), or black currant though admittedly, they might be lending themselves in ways unknown to my untrained nose. What can I say? I just ordered a full bottle.

Sweet and candy like, but never immature. The red fruit note smells very natural, almost like being in the Scottish countryside with sticky hands after picking berries. It has that wild outdoors fruit feeling that comes across as real rather than syrupy. In the drydown it becomes beautifully soft and almost musky, with a clear touch of orris adding refinement. The scent keeps developing on the skin which makes it interesting from start to finish. I am normally not a fan of sweet perfumes but this one feels special, natural and very sophisticated. Also very nice go layer with musk or rose fragrances.

Cold Scottish oatmeal and berries on a raw, windy, & wet Sunday in the Outer Hebrides. It’s a feat of perfumery & guarantee you won’t ever smell anything like it. It quite literally smells like I described. It’s most definitely not a blind buy as some will not consider it wearable. I am mightily impressed by this house, and their dedication to the craft of truly niche perfumery. Try a sample first. It could blow your mind. I want to love this badly, but it’s not for me.

Very realistic berry bush at opening. Can not actually say wich berries, but definetely something i have smelled before. Later turns to berry pie with alot different kind of berries in the middle, berries being not jammy or sweet, just hint of sugar mixed with so berries are still sour. Really delicious and pleasant, not parfumey at all. Feels safe to wear around people that may not like fragrances. Looking forward to layer this with something lactonic.

I bought a full bottle of this so fast after going through my sample. This is a pure love. Tart, slightly sweet, I get the cereal note, and the most beautiful, creamy orris root. Reminds me of opening a box of granola cereal, if it was 70% dried, tart berries and you top it with fresh raspberries and black currants. The orris comes in like cooled milk. So much fun.

basiclaly WST review sums it up, i love this ! go go indie houses that are actually doing some weird that still smells amazing - Ah ok reminds me of a mix of Cape Heartache Imaginary Authors and Blackbird Olympic Orchids Artisan Perfumes --- and the slight crispness and airiness of Mure et Musc Extreme L'Artisan Parfumeur ( but not as "dated" smelling and unique )

This is such a unique fragrance, and I am obsessed with it. It is on the sweeter side - almost has a bubble gum smell to me, but without being cloying or artificial smelling. It is definitely predominantly berries, but the mint really rounds it out well and I think the cereal accord brings that sweetness. This is one that I just can’t stop sniffing once I spray.

If you want to smell like sweet dark berries jam mixed with corn flakes this is it. It's intense and last forever so you better like it. You can smell some other distant notes, I guess the pine, the floral, but it's muted by the strong berry jam note. This is good stuff. It reminds me those days when I was making and canning jam all day long during Summer.

Beautiful fresh berries with a hint of pine tree right at the beginning. It maintains its fruitiness without ever becoming overly sweet or cloying. Lasts a long time on the skin and leaves a beautiful trail for the first two hours. I can’t wait to get my full bottle. It’s everything you could want from a berry perfume. 10/10 it’s perfect

Raspberry and other berries, almost as if in a bakery desert. This might just be the Raspberry scent I have been looking for. It is sweet but not overly so, and the berries are the stars of the show. For me this is the ultimate berry scent. Probably the only one from Jorum Studio that I would keep forever.

Omg. The opening is a very fresh blueberry for me, and the accord definitely evokes the Scottish wilds for me. Not in an obvious way (Heather, hawthorn, etc.) but in a cool, drizzly day in early Spring out for a stroll, capturing the scents of the earthy wet landscape as you go. I need a FB of this!

i am OBSESSED with this. this smells like a smoothie bowl. the cereal note makes this perfect and unique and so addicting. it's fruity and oatmeal-y with a touch of minty green. there's also this fuzziness about it that makes it so comforting. i just know i'm never gonna shut up about this.

helps me survive the burnout. cereal note reminds me of the only meal i love = breakfast.

this is what being hot stuff smells like.

A cool, minty sweet berry with a lightly powdery dry down. The sweetness is not sugary, candied or overripe but the natural fruity sweetness of raspberries, sprinkled with wild mint and powdered with fresh snow. Definitely evokes cool weather, not a sunny juicy summer fruit. Very pleasant, refreshing without being bracing. I don’t get any deep woody or overly verdant green notes - it’s the scent of a backyard herb garden with berry bushes rather than that of a deep wild forest. Disappointingly, I can’t seem to detect any of the cereal note on my skin. To me it’s less complex than the listed notes suggest, which isn’t a mark against it necessarily (I don’t have the most trained or expert nose for perfume) but it is reason enough for me personally not to spring for a full bottle. However if it’s in your budget and you are looking for something with this kind of winter berry vibe, it’s great. Very longlasting too, 5+ hours. I’ll be experiencing with layering cheaper mint and berries scents to capture a bit of Healing Berry when my sample runs out.

the name of this fragrance is so fitting. an extrait containing plants that have been used since ancient times to soothe and heal; artemisia (aka wormwood), willowherb, raspberry leaf and fir.. along with a whole lot of berries. at first, this smells like a medical cough syrup to me. but once it dries down, it’s berry galore. sweet, but not sickly sweet. a nice mellow bitterness and sharpness from the green notes balance out the sugary berries. i get no rose; which i’m happy about. cereal & balsam fir as base notes is something i’ve never seen before.. which is a consistent experience for me with this perfume house. completely unique, never before seen or smelt, daringly creative perfumes with such unusual scent profiles. i don’t think i’ll be reaching for this sample often, and i doubt i’ll ever buy a full bottle of it. i’m just not big into sweet, jammy fragrances. but i still respect and admire it for what it is.. a very cheerfully bright perfume.

Intensely berry scent, realistic wild berries picked and mushed with a mortar into a sludge. Smells identical to Swedish berry cream. Berry mocktail. Feels like a scent or body product by Lush. Very natural, unbothering and very distinct. People will tell that you smell like a berry wearing this its not a homogeneous sweet fresh scent its heavily fruity berry - this is the berry sister of pulp by byredo, except healing berry is more wearable, calm and fresh. Still it is very special and not for everyone, you’d have to smell it and test it first until you know that you could wear it. Nothing pungent or suffocating about this. It’s whimsical and I layered it with Liis floating, which makes it so fresh and shampoo-like. In love with it.
