Pony Boy

This fragrance was my first from Jorum and is a masterpiece, I purchased spiritcask not long after. There's almost this herbal quality dill or the maybe the carrot seed which reminds me of homemade Jewish chicken soup I grew up eating. Not all will feel this way, I wear it for this reason, that scent is very soothing. The grapefruit is less noticable, but definitely nice. Today I over sprayed and wore it in the Fort Lauderdale heat on Las Olas Blvd and I heard someone say aloud it stinks like weed, Im not 100%, but I am pretty sure they were referring to me 🤣. I really love the fig in this as well, it's almost powdery. This fragrance is very well belended and it took my nose a few months to completely comprehend, and I am still deciphering it. This definitely goes through changes on my skin, projects 2ft and last long, it happens to work really well with my chemistry. I'm in sfl and this can be difficult to wear, I like wearing this on a hot rainy day or in winter. It works well with humidity and also inside an air conditioned corporate office. This fragrance is for people who understand and enjoy niche. Pony Boy is not beautiful in the conventional sense, it's beautiful because it's interesting, it's like nothing else I have worn. This is a very high quality and very natural smelling fragrance and a recommended blind buy for niche collectors that understand and like the notes. This feels special when I wear it, because it is. I feel like a lot of love went into both the creation of the ingredients in this and also the formulation of the finished product.

Le Labo Thé Noir 29 as craft beer (compliment) On a non-comparative review basically how I'd describe it is how I would describe ^The Noir – it didn't get tea or noir tbh but it's super dewy and floral of a scent. Reminds me of impressionist paintings. Yknow how things just seem so wet and muddled but all the flowers swirl into each other but in like an uplifting airy kind of wet than something dark and damp? Yeah that. So take that and maybe have a few beers while you're watching it. Is the scene then sharing beers with a friend at a museum gallery? It's light and fun though don't get me wrong! It isn't The Noir but more masculine or sth I found it to bear the same skeleton. Still unisex. I imagine it could come off differently on someone else. This was ALMOST a blind buy and in hindsight I wouldn't mind if it had been

So BRIGHT and BUBBLY and HAPPY! It smells like a perfect day - a happy memory from years past. I've never owned a grapefruit or rhubarb fragrance - I normally lean towards fig scents. But this was a nice surprise indeed. It's unique, while being quite simple. I got married in Scotland, so wore this scent at the events leading up to my wedding day, both because of the Scottish symbolism in the brand and the scent, and because the scent quite simply just makes you feel happy. It smells like first loves. I love Jorum Studio. I went to their shop in Edinburgh and they were so informative, and every one of their scents was unique. I also love the stories behind the scents, and I'm really eager to try more.

I am new to fragrances so I'm not sure I'll be able to say much about this fragrance that is useful... but I just had to exclaim about how much I love this perfume. Oh my god. To my novice nose, it is so weird but good. Definitely fruity, definitely floral, but in an edgy way where in my notes I wrote "I think only hot people wear this." There is something underneath the fruit/floral that tames it and I would not call it that sweet. I am obsessed and will definitely be getting a fullsize. An absolute masterpiece. Tart, mouthwatering rhubarb that lasts on the skin and does not turn bitter. It's a little similar to Rhubarbe écarlate but greener, and Pony Boy doesn't have musk. I instantly fell in love with this on paper and on the skin, it's somehow even better. You really need to love rhubarb though because it's a powerful fragrance. I love rhubarb in food as well as in fragrances so this is an absolute win for me. (Byredo's Pulp does have a few similarities with Pony Boy, but Pulp to me is a basket of fruits almost rotting in the sun - in the absolute best way possible - whereas Pony Boy is almost a one note rhubarb frag to me.)
