Sweet Dreams

Just got this today and after one spray, it has quickly moved to my FAVORITE perfume spot! It's perfect! I love clean/fresh/powdery scents, and this to me smells like an adult version of baby powder. That might not be so appealing to some; and it might not be a good description, but I feel so fresh/clean and "comforted" wearing this! At first sniff, that really strong blast of alcohol almost had me worried, but it went away quickly. What I end up with is the most wonderfully cozy, comforting, relaxing fresh powder I've ever smelled. I sprayed it at 10a.m., and I can still smell it (it's about to be 3pm.). I keep getting whiffs of it; and every time I do, this feeling of calmness washes over me. I just want to snuggle up with my babies on a white down comforter and relax all day long. Amazed and absolutely in love with this scent! Thank you to all those who pushed me to blind-buy it! It's perfect! P.s.: To me, this is what the older version of Love's Baby Soft used to smell like. (Now, it smells almost chemical and "fake"....but ends up smelling fresh and powdery after a good while.) If you want a cheaper version, stick to that. But this is Heavenly and well-worth the money. So save up your Christmas or birthday cash and get this if you love powdery/clean scents!!!

I must state, I love a good powdery scent! I tracked down a full 100 ml bottle of Sweet Dreams. I was nearly vibrating with excitement when it arrived on a very cold day. I had to let it settle and warm up for a few hours before spraying. Upon first sniff, all I could smell was RUBBER! Ugh! Then I remembered that the sprayer probably needed to be cleared out, first. After a few spritzes into a paper towel, VOILA! I got that heavenly, soft, powdery, slightly sweet scent. A couple of spritzes lasted the entire day and projected at least arm's length. SD is quite similar to Teint de Neige. I tried them side by side. SD registered a little deeper and sweeter, on my skin. Luckily I only bought a sample of TdN. Though discontinued, Sweet Dreams will live on in my collection 🙂

Clean, sweet heliotrope. Reminded me instantly of the scent of classic white Dove soap. Comforting and fresh, lives up to its name I feel! Update 6/29/2015: Now that I have tested Teint de Neige, I can confirm that Sweet Dreams is indeed a dupe for it. The only difference between the two to my nose is that Sweet Dreams has better sillage, that's it! Update 9/24/2015: Now a HTF frag, due to the recent hype depleting the remaining stock of this discontinued perfume. Some bottles are left on eBay but at prices double, triple, or quadruple the cost before and during most of the craze!

As others have said, this is a dead ringer for Lorenzo Villoresi Teint de Neige. They are both super long-lived and both have the overload of powder notes. If anything, Sweet Dreams may be just a tiny tad sweeter, perhaps just a little bit smoother than Teint de Neige, but in other respects to my nose they are identical. If you have one you don't need the other. Both are great for layering. One costs a bomb, the other is quite affordable. Your choice.

Sweet Dreams, so soft and pure, Like baby powder, gentle and sure. A scent that wraps you in a hug, Tender, soft, like a cozy rug. Fluffy, sweet, and innocent too, A touch of peace that carries you through. Light and soft, like a dream at night, It lingers on, a soft delight.

I love the powdwery softness. The EDT has a cherry almond alongside the musk etc. while the EDP is just powdery musk...yum! These two definitely have undisclosed heliotrope and almond...delish! I bet the soft cushiony clouds at the gates to heaven smell like this.

This is vanilla scented powder wrapped in heliotrope. Lovely and soft, a rainy day scent or cuddled around a roaring fire. A bedtime scent. Quite the bargain and no cap to fumble, the sprayer is inside the top of the bottle, just press down on it.

WOW what a compliment getter! I love it. Especially when I layer it with Pierre Balmain Ivorie. I think it would layer well with many perfumes that you want to make more powdery.

Does this come in an eau de parfum.would love to buy if someone is not happy with it.i love powdery comforting scents but edt would not be strong enough for my skin.thank you.

Gorgeous, fluffy, luxurious powder puff! Very similar to Teint de Neige. Great sillage and lasting power.

I do love me some powdery scents and I do love me some sweet scents, which is why I took the plunge with sweet dreams and blind bought it a while back. At first I wasn't sure what to think about it. I mean I liked the smell but I couldn't really imagine a scenario where I would want to smell like this, except maybe before going to bed. So that is how I started out with Sweet Dreams, as my night time perfume, and it does indeed provide sweet dreams. I then thought about swapping it, cause I felt that it wasn't versatile enough to justify me keeping it. But I eventually withdrew Sweet Dreams from my swapping list and started experimenting with it. Today I am wearing it to work for the first time. It is soothing, calm and dreamy and it's totally working out for me. I feel like I have found more uses for it now and don't feel the need to be only wearing it when not around other people. This stuff plain and simple just smells nice. I'm happy I didn't swap it away. I've noticed that it is gaining some popularity here on Fragrantica recently and justly so. For a fan of powdery and sweet scents this is an affordable bundle of joy. I encourage you to try it out and see for yourself. For those that are concerned about perfume strength, I think I can confirm that Sweet Dreams will not let you down there, both sillage and longevity are 10/10

I am surprised that I`d not found any reviews that compare Sweet Dreams to the likes of vintage Chantilly, Heaven Sent , even Shalimar, and Emeraude . A whiff of the sprayer gave me those vibes right away. What I experienced from first spritz gave me that my sense was correct - a harsh blast of citrus and alcohol, dusty "old timey" powder and musk, faint florals - which quickly meld into a comforting, soft and fluffy , a tinge of citrus familiar and welcoming scent to me ! My oh my - this gives me just what those vintages once did , and do not anymore . I swear there is a bit of leather, with the vanilla scattered upon it in tiny droplets. It has the quality that Chantilly , and Heaven Sent no longer have. There is not a huge dry down, or change through the wearing - only that melding moments after applying - and that is fine with me ! I enjoyed the nostalgia. I enjoyed the coziness. I was given a sample vial from a very kind hearted member - and I would seek this out for purchase when comes the time I desire not just the scent, but the experience.

Sweet Dreams is a very pretty, VERY heavily powdered soft and sweet perfume. A tiny,gentle lemon-lime citrus touch in the opening, settles to a sweet vanilla and soft white musk wrapped in fluffy powder. And yes, I seem to sense a light cherry almond touch in the blend, too. This perfume reminds me of sweet soft baby powder. Florals seem to include iris, rose, and heliotrope mixed with Tonka and vanilla. It's rich, lasts until you shower it off and silage is strong . Very little goes a long way. I feel like I'm floating inside a cloud of fluffy, soft, thick vanilla powder. Very pretty, very pleasant, great for relaxing, or for feeling cool and clean on a hot day. This could easily be an expensive niche ! Instead, it is reasonably priced. It's lovely, and an instant favorite for lovers of sweet powdery perfumes !

Sweet Dreams was such a bargain and longevity is truly eternal. Maybe one day Joseph Jivago will see fit to again produce this lovely perfume. And this definitely awesome, both in fragrance , sillage and longevity. Please bring it back Mr. Jivago, if for no other reason the scalpers on &bay would go out of business. $200 a bottle now.

Hi Rola,The edt I have is in a opaque white bottle.The edp I have is in a transparent bottle.And yes,they are the same perfume,differing slightly in a few areas,but basically the same.Hope this helps.

Smells exactly like Johnson's baby lotion (the one on the pink bottle).

My Sweet Dreams (acquired during the great Sweet Dreams Stampede several years ago, when it was about 20 dollars) used to be mostly for saving my precious Teint de Neige, but now their FB prices run neck-and-neck, the main difference being that 100 plus dollars will get you a much larger bottle of Sweet Dreams than it will Teint de Neige. I also suspect that Teint de Neige is made from somewhat better ingredients, but I that might be some kind of illusion perpetuated by marketing and an Italian house label. Either way, both are basically classic heliotrope fragrances, redolent of powdered musk with the soft red fruit aromatics that usually accompany musk perfumes and also tend to appear in heliotrope scents. The lightly fruity powder is reminiscent of childhood scents, the comfort of a someone loving caring for you after bathtime, the scent of a childhood bedtime. These perfumes are about comfort with just a bit of fluffy marabou slipper luxe. Sweet Dreams also includes some vanilla (not much but it's there), while vanilla is either absent or basically undetectable in Teint de Neige. If you prefer gourmands, go for the Sweet Dreams over Teint de Neige; if you're hung up about Niche-and-only niche in your collection, Teint de Neige is for you. I wear both, although I reach for Sweet Dreams more often as I have significantly more of it, and I don't like to skimp on it at bedtime. Even though I have a lot of sophisticated day and evening perfumes in my collection (and wear them all), bedtime comfort perfumes are special to me, and they are often the perfumes I find myself reviewing, usually because sitting here writing about them helps me wind down before bed. I also think they get lost in our perfume discourse, as their simplicity perhaps does not inspire reviewers to the heights of passionate (purple) prose; there is much to say for the artistry of complex, challenging, sophisticated perfumes, but there is also room for discussion of "useful" perfumes, too. I believe these perfumes need a champion, as professional critics usually either ignore them or diss them. I think this misses the point: just as simple daytime freshies have a unique time and place, so do the powdery musks that help us relax and ease into sleep. Sweet Dreams is well-named, and I wish that Jivago would bring it back in larger quantities to the US, because the demand seems to be here--and I would like to have a backup, for the evening--sometime hopefully long in the future--when I need it and my bottle is finally finished.

Sweet Dreams smells exactly like classic white Dove soap. If Dove soap ever released a line of perfumes (and they should!), this would be Dove White. Since Dove soap gives me terrible persistent hives (way too harsh), I can't use it anymore; Sweet Dreams is my Dove soap fix! It's powdery vanilla with a touch of lemony citrus. Just a gorgeous scent. It lasts a good twelve hours, easy. I do not get olfactory fatigue from this - I keep smelling it, and it never seems to weaken. That could just be me, so I hesitate to say everyone will experience the amazing perpetual longevity with this that I do. The EDT and EDP smell identical. This stuff is nuclear Dove soap. It's the heat of summer, not the best time for Sweet Dreams, but I wore it last night anyway just because I missed it. Sweet Dreams REALLY shines in the cold, clear air of winter. Somehow it seems like the smell of fresh, powdery snow. If you like powdery scents and run across a bottle of this, snatch it up (EDP or EDT - same scent). You will never find another straight up Dove soap scent this good unless Dove decides to market a fragrance. Even then, I doubt they would come this close.

I consider this a gem. Yes it is definitely inspired by if not a clone of Teint de Neige, but on my skin, this is slightly less powdery, and more sweet. I definitely get a lot of the old plastic doll, old makeup accord, here it smells as if you have your face in an old vintage latex halloween mask. I love it. First time I wore it the first person I came into contact with said I smell “really good, sort of like baby powder.” Well, yeah, that is mostly what you’ll get with this. It is sort of linear, but some of that is due to how unbelievably long it lasts. But it is more complex than just baby powder. It isn't just baby powder, it’s a bunch of different powders all thrown together with florals and vanilla. It isn’t soapy, it’s just sweet powder. Talc, Johnson and Johnsons, makeup, sweetened. Discontinued, so I grabbed several bottles. Two like the one pictured as the page image, and an earlier one that has slightly different font on the bottle and isn’t the same type of bottle at all.
