Gingerbread & Brown Sugar

Ok so I LOVED the spicy pumpkin and marshmallow from the same collection, but I unfortunately can’t say the same about this one. I was hoping to love it because I love gingerbread cookies and all of those delicious festive spiced desserts. But to me, this smells nothing like gingerbread. It’s VERY strong on gingery and it has a citrusy blast. It kind of smells like a bathroom air freshener sorry😢 no biscuits or sugar or caramel it’s just really sharp ginger with a zesty blast. Ps, if you want an actually gingerbread/ pumpkin pie/ cookie scent try the spicy pumpkin and marshmallow it’s amazing and so delicious.

I've tried a few fragrances from this house, and the is the first one I've enjoyed. This opens smelling like cinnamon sticks and black licorice. There is a small potpourri vibe, which luckily stayed faint in the background. As this develops I get gingerbread, black licorice, allspice, and sugar. Has a Christmas/holiday vibe to it. Would be good for winter or fall.

The ginger on this is strong and sharp - so strong, that it actually smells a bit like I just freshly ground ginger or actually veers into "sour rootbeer" category to my nose. This was a strange experience given that this is supposed to stay in the warm/baked goods/cookie realm. I do smell a very faint whisper of sugar and molasses in the background, but they are unfortunately choked out by the ginger by leaps and bounds. I love spicy gourmands, and this was way too much for me - not well blended, and not sure what it wanted to be. Not at all a gingerbread cookie. Definitely sample first before springing for a bottle!
