La Tarte Tatin

I love gourmand fragrances and this is def a gourmand scent. On paper the apple really comes through, though on my skin the caramel, tonka bean and vanilla take precedence with the apple in the background. The final dry down is a warm, cozy cake-like vanilla scent just like their traditional vanilla they are known for. Though this is gourmand, the dry down is more of a unisex vibe to me. I think it would compliment a great fragrance combo for both men and women, though the initial spray does lean more feminine. This will do well in colder weather, but if paired right I feel can also be worn in warmer weather. I read the below reviews of people suggesting it smells like cedar and celery...I personally do not get either of those, so like all fragrances it will depend on the individual. If you like other Jousset fragrances then this should be a safe blind buy. I own 3 of them so far and they all have that same vanilla base which I personally vibe with. For me the projection and longevity are both moderate...longevity, it does last on paper for several days. On my skin it calms down after a few hours, so if you want it to project I suggest spraying it on both skin & clothes.

If you’re like me who easily becomes nose blind to parfums, this is the one! The Queen of projection and silage. Stays on skin over 24 hours! On clothes even after washing. Not for sensitive noses for sure, but it is surely unique. Very high quality of ingredients as well. The price for 50 ml is justified, as you will only need 1 spray on your wrist that you can distribute behind your ears and chest. I love this scent!

This is fragrance smells delicious. If you like sickly sweet gourmands then you will probably like this one. Very warm cozy brown sugar & maple bar doughnuts. It smells like opening the door to a small bakery with warm baked goods fresh out of the oven.

This one is amazing, from start to end

I have a dabber from luckyscent. I cannot imagine buying a bottle. To be fair I like this scent because it’s apple pie and maple syrup pancakes, I love a good gourmand and this fits the bill. Disclaimer though, this fragrance is nuclear, it permeated the whole bag of samples I got and once I finally found the culprit I separated it from the rest. But simply opening the dabber meant it lingered on my fingers for the whole day despite multiple handwashings. I have put the isolated dabber in my closet. My closet smells of maple syrup. I put one tiny dab on my wrist while at work and someone asked about baked goods from the hallway outside my door. It was me. It lasted the whole day and when I was at the gym with my husband he remarked “the smell of pancakes keeps following me”. It was me, again.

I get the negative comments on this, because on my mrs it smells very wierd.. but everbody has a different skin chemistry and skin type! DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS! definetly give this one a try on skin before purchasing. On me this settles down really nicely, bit of burnt sugar with the apple and caramel dominating. Longevity on skin: 10/10 12+ hrs Longevity on clothes: weeks... Sillage: out of this world.

I get more of a cherry than an apple but it's really nice- I also don't get gasoline at all?

cloth test: top: pastry dough and green apple peeling pectin middle: sweet green apple, raw brown sugar base: cooked brown sugar / carmelized sugar, baked pie, vanilla. evaporated from the cloth quickly. It's like the experience of making something in the kitchen with green apples, starting one project previously with cutting the peelings off to render fruit pectin for jelly. The actual apple part becomes a pie or crisp because it's already cut and needs to be used. Then we have the sweet pie and sugar after that. This is everything I wanted in a green apple peelings pectin smell after I experienced it as a nostalgic top note in I Am Trash but hated the base note. Yay! I have a green apple fragrance! Which doesn't smell like green apple scented shampoo or turn into an awful base note. And replicates the experience of making the thing, not just eating it. It's exactly what I was looking for. skin test: green apple, buttery, just enough pastry and sweetness to not smell like Suave shampoo. Just right. It stayed longer on my skin than on cloth, but was also more linear. I got the top notes and middle notes in the intended correct order with sugar first and apple second but I prefer it the other way. I will wear it on both cloth and skin to get the full effect. To me the exact scent of Granny Smith apples reminds me of late summer and early fall because we picked them for the pectin content of the peel when making grape jelly, so it corresponds to the grape harvest in Sonoma, California. Of course for other uses they are kept and baked all winter. So for me the seasonality runs from Augst through winter.

Jousset's La Tarte Tartin, launched in 2023, is a high-quality and intense extrait de parfum with eternal longevity. If the apple were more prominent, as it would be in an actual apple tart, its fresh fruitiness might have mitigated the overpowering maple-syrup note that lingers days after applying. this smells very delicious. not getting apple pie like others, just pure maple and brown sugar. but literally the strongest perfume i've ever worn. absolutely fills the entire room and could last days. sickeningly sweet, will not be for everyone at all. i like the smell itself but it's too strong and i would not wear it around other people.

yes there is the vibe of tarte tatin, specifically the burnt sugar, that for someone can have a strong effect, like tyre or burned plastic, but the apple note is missing. It is not a safe blind buy, but once the first part will progress, the medium and base notes will give you the best fall gourmand fragrance on you skin. Addictive !

This is a sweet maple syrup winter sort of scent. It's nice but I don't need more than my decant. I wore this to Thanksgiving and when I walked in the room my aunt asked, "Who's eating syrup??" LOL

The notes look perfect, I almost made a blind buy, but luckily I got a sample because it settles down to celery on the skin. It's not a scrubber, but it isn't worth the price.

too much gasoline and burnt tyres. Cannot detect apples at all. Super powerful. stays for days. No safe blind buy.

DO NOT BUY THIS! I loved Le Gourmand from Jousset and from the notes alone I thought this would be amazing and I blindly bought it. Don't. Just don't. Some of the other reviewers described the smell accurately, it does NOT smell like an apple pie, it is rancid.

Smells like burnt apple. Not the good kind. The kind you scape from the pan after attempting and failing to cook an apple crumble or something, taste to see if it's just caramelised, scrunch your face at the bitterness, then throw away. :/ Issa no. 😑

Do NOT blind buy like I did..... very unique smell and the salt is very prominent for me. Very synthetic and not like the notes describes..... has to scrub it off
