Satisfaction for Men

I happened upon this gem in ___-Mart and had received no PR or warning from any of my on-line communities.Despite the frown on my shopping partners face, I sprayed it in the air and walked through it and voila!, one mist covered me in a sweet veil of manly scent that belied its humble creator. I shopped on and thought, I have LOTS of stuff that smells like this and forgot about it...over the course of 90 minutes in the store 4 people (1 a guy) actually complimented me on how good I smelled! Needless to say I bought the large 30ml bottle... This fragrance relies on the classic opening of grapefruit and fresh, green basil but instead of only these, adds quince...one of my favorite fruits in perfumes. Quinces are large yellow apple-like fruits (some say this is what Eve ate in the Garden of Eden) that contribute a somewhat dry and bitter juicy nuance to scents. This is, I believe, what makes this fragrance so intruiging. The heart appears 20-30 minutes later(depending on temperature) and continues its manly charge on our senses with strong cedar blended with aromatic rosemary(green and refreshing) and cardamom (which sweetens this in a aqueous yet softly spiced manner). The true beauty of this is in the drydown: labdanum and tonka beans, quite stunning and this is what it leaves on my skin. I sometimes catch spicy green and sometimes watery citrc wisps. This one is manly, aromatic, smooth and sweet with old notes in new places. Manly enough to hold it's own but not loud as some of this ilk can be. It's oriental base is heavy in its finish without being sickly or cloying... Sillage: super Longevity: quite decent Overall: 4/5 This and Black Musk for Men have completely changed my opinion of Jovan fragrances for men. I will have to revisit the older scents- perhaps my tastes are more open to the vintage scents like Sex Appeal, Musk and White Musk...I already have Ginseng NRG and it is also quite good...

Such a gorgeous men's scent! I'm a woman and I love the smell of this! It is generic, yes, but it's so ambery, warm and balmy and would suit practically anyone and best of all it's so cheap! To my nose it smells similar to Obsession for Men. A great scent to buy for your man!

I don't think I could ever write such a great review as Gypsy Parfumista- nice! And I agree. This frag takes some of the best parts of the sexiest of men's daytime frags from the last two decades, and combines them into a simple and elegant summary. It is very like CW and later fruity-fresh-watery, summertime frags. No, Jovan has done nothing too original or trendsetting here (unlike their heyday of the 70's & early 80's under very-different management than they have now), but they have created a well-constructed fragrance that anyone could wear with dignity. I bought it simply to keep up with the Jovanses. ;-)

Lasts 2hrs on my skin max. Inoffensive soft fragrance with nothing particularly outstanding Cheap bottle but one to reach for if you just want to smell nice for work as it is a bit longer lasting than a body spray. In my opinion nothing beats the original musk from Jovan I think this company, or Coty who make it, tend to keep their prices down and also water down the strength of their fragrances each time i buy them.I would rather they increased the prices and kept the quality as it was over a decade ago( or am I just being nostalgic).?

This one is quite nice, I must admit. The opening notes don't stay around long, but the tonka and the cardamom are just beautiful in this one. It's strong enough to be noticeable, but not overpowering. Longevity is decent on my skin....I sprayed some on last night at bedtime, and there were still wisps lingering this morning...not bad for a drug store scent. It's nothing groundbreaking, but if you want a very good, low cost oriental, this fits the bill quite nicely.

Nice aromatic late tones but with low logevity and soft projection. I like the scent though ( smells like Bottled Night - Hugo Boss) Maybe it will be a little better in warmer weather or just reapply EDIT Lasts much longer on shirt than skin. 1 spray on a small piece of wool (old glove) in a shirt pocket lasts more than 5 hours

This one is a cheap buy. Yes it seems to be good. But the projection & Longevity matters. It stays up to 2 to 3 hrs. Projection works for an hour. I like it.

Its nice. Its just like Jovan Black for Men. You must spray more for notice. It holds up to 3 to 4 hrs.

Remember the movie Gone in 60 Seconds? That is true for this fragrance as well. I picked up 2 30 ml bottles months ago and just tried it. Looking at the notes you would think it would at least be ok. I sprayed 4 times and got a light sweet scent for 30 minutes tops and that's it. This will be a "throw" in with my next sell/swap.

Generic, weak and boring. Sorry Jovan I don't like this.

Interesting little bottle of juice - a total blind buy based upon gypsyparfumista's splendid review. Jovan is a throw-back name, but this is actually a decent drugstore fragrance that doesn't quite smell like one. I don't know if I would go as far into the positive realm here, but it holds its own. I actually bought my two young boys a gift set each of the 1oz bottle and the body wash...great price on eBay (2 sets - under $12 total with free shipping). They love the Rolling Stones and "Satisfaction" is one of their favorite songs, so I bought it on a knowledgelable whim from the review here and was pleasantly surprised myself when I snuck a couple of sprays. For juice like this, they should just offer it in a bigger bottle though - IMHO...50ml, 75ml, or bigger. This is spray and go, but you need to apply it liberally. Good scent - the notes have already been discussed. My rating is 6-6.5/10 and a recommendation to buy just based upon price alone although you don't get much in the 1oz bottle.

"FLEETING Satisfaction" would be a better name for this scent. I have to wholeheartedly agree with just about everyone here that this scent doesn't last long at all. I had to chuckle when I glanced back at the bottle and it said Eau de Toilette. Definitely more of a cologne. (Not typical of Jovan, since even their colognes have staying power.) So. Treat this as you would a cologne. Don't expect too much beyond a few hours. Yet the scent you will get during that time frame is worth the low price of admission, in my opinion. Lasts much longer on clothes than skin, and performs best in warmer weather. About the scent. To my nose, this smells like 75% Navigator and 25% White Water, a favorite early 90's vanilla-aromatic by Prestige that doesn't appear here in the Fragrantica database. I don't think this was/is a hit but maybe one day, we'll get a "Super Satisfaction" that lends this fragrance some extra oomph. Not everything has to be a powerhouse but this deserves a bit more amplification.

I also like this scent. Longevity is the concern here. I have not tested it enough to gauge how long it last on my skin yet.
