Oriental

missk has it. Not sure what everyone else is smelling. This is all about the pink pepper and is not oriental. It leans more chypre. Very dry and herbaceous, in fact. I would call it pepper, cedar and maybe a hint of rose. And amber.

Jovoy Paris Oriental is not an oriental fragrance in a classic sense of the word. It's missing a lot of that bold spiciness that is usually found in such fragrances. Oriental has a much stronger focus on the opening blend of pink pepper and bergamot. Oriental is unfortunately a little too sharp for my personal tastes. It smells very similar to 212 Sexy by Carolina Herrera on my skin, without the sugary drydown of course. The most dominant accords to my nose are pink pepper, bergamot, amber, peach and cedar. It's a mish-mash of peppery sharpness, zesty citrus, tart fruits and warm amber. Not unpleasant, but a scent I would describe as a bit of an acquired taste. Seeing that these fragrances were created with the intention of layering them, it would be interesting to see how Oriental would fare once blended with a softer scent. I think I could enjoy it more if it wasn't for that rather cloying pink pepper note. Oriental strikes me as a fragrance better suited to the warmer months, especially Spring. It's a fairly energetic fragrance, not nearly as cosy as I expected it to be. Oriental has great longevity and moderate projection. Not a bad scent, just not really for me.

I usually like oriental fragrances. But there is something in this that dosn ́t match my chemistry, I am not sure what. I have troublw with it in the beginning, but the drydown is nice, warm and sweet but in an elegant and not overpowering way. A quite discrete and powdery oriental. Stayingpower is medium on me.

Very interesting perfume. They me associate with golden fall in Poland. They smell a moist bark of tree, yellow leaves on grass, mature fruits. Imo, it is not typical oriental smell. I dont know how its classificals, but i know then it is very romantic and beautiful perfume.

Today is cold and rainy and i prefer sweeter fragrances, so Oriental by Jovoy is cozy and sweet, even gourmand, but in a subtle way. All their fragrances are classy, thin, subtle, pleasant and very French.
