Koiame

Opens with citrus and pear about 5 minutes in the rose appears along with other florals, 2 sprays on my neck filled the house my wife says it smells like expensive laundry. It is very clean and surprisingly last a long time all in all I like it a lot.

Koiame starts with pear and apple, floating in a watery mist. The scent is sweet and fresh, light and unassuming, but you can definitely smell the different fruits. I like that they’re not overly sweet, the apple has a green crunch to it and the pear just a hint of buttery warmth. There’s a hint of shampoo bubbles too, but it’s mild. In fact the whole perfume is mild, as most J Scents are, but it still delivers a complex set of notes and stages. From the shampoo apple open we move into a more floral heart. There’s a transparent and slightly spicy pink rose, set off by musky jasmine. For the most part these are wisps of flowers, floating through the ether. Nothing intrudes, or shouts, it’s all very delicate and mild mannered. What I really enjoyed though is that occasionally I would get puffs of a more dense and satiny pink rose rising up into the air around me. At around the 4 hour mark Koiame dries down into a true skin scent, a floral tinged musk.

Koiame (Love Rain) reminds me of cheap shower gels from the 2000s. I'm a big fan of shower gel scents, so I like this one. It has pretty good lasting power. I'm still smelling it on skin and clothes over 4 hours later. Starts off very fruity, and becomes a bit more floral with time, but retains a watery/fresh/fruity character for the entire wear. This one is more in the water lily category rather than the sweet-fruity shower gel category (Liis Studied, Phlur Mood Ring). Very safe-for-work, mild-mannered, and Japanese in style. This one will be hit-or-miss because it's a very nostalgic scent. Likely to either be associated with fresh, relaxing shower memories or just come off as cheap and boring. Watery, fruity, citrus musk. I just wish it projected a bit better and lasted longer. I find after the first spray it's almost gone an hour later... maybe that's part of the appeal and what makes it feel so delicate, quiet and classy? Not sure. very pretty and I love it, definitely something I often reach for when I go to the office or any quiet space where I know there won't be too much going on to overpower this scent. I wouldn't repurchase however, due to the poor longevity, but it sure is worth a sniff.

the initial spray is quite green, but the rose is surprisingly prominent after a couple of minutes. i don't really get fruit at all like it's soooo floral (albeit a very clean and fresh floral, i agree with the shampoo comparisons). the concept is cute and it's kiiiinda reflected in the scent? like if you close your eyes and think about it lol. overall safe and pleasant, but tbh i can barely smell it which is not the case for the people around me (made the unfortunate mistake of overspraying)

Smells pretty good. Light , clean, and easy to wear. A little sweet but only a little. I’m not into sweet scents myself. But this smells soft and clean. I may get this fragrance for the warmer rather this summer/spring. I think this would go well on those days when you have been wearing/ smelling fragrances so much you may need a little break or reset, but still want to wear something. I get the notes of pear, tea, and white musk. Perfectly unisex. Some fruit notes are detectable.

Of the line, this one is my fav. It starts out too green apple like but fades into more of a berry fruity scent. I mostly smell rose, pear, black currant and cedar. I see the shampoo-ness. I see no more tears or Tosca. I think J-Scent should come out with hair scents. It’s a bit more complex smelling that standard shampoo. I think it’s nice but not amazing. I’d give this an 8/10.

a well-rounded scent that i would think hard for anybody to dislike. it's light, fresh, and mild. a perfect balance of sweet & green and fruity & floral. that being said, it doesn't strike me as very interesting or eye-catching in any way, but fits the definition of "playing it safe" when worn by anybody. i consider this an objectively "good" smell, but subtle and a tad boring.

A perfectly ripe Granny Smith green apple. I can literally imagine the first bite - crisp and tart, followed by a honey peach and pear. This is more green/floral than fruity imo. I understand the shampoo reference, but I think most green apple notes give off that "just showered" composition. Anywho....this wears beautifully in the heat and can hold its own in humidity.

Mmmmmmmmmm shampoo Edit: Trying my sample again about a year later and I'm upgrading this from a meh to a like. It's delicate, sweet but not cloying, clean. Brings to mind a woman who just came out of the bathroom having just showered, wearing clean and comfy clothes, hair still wet.

Fresh, slightly citrusy, floral. Very shampoo-like to me. Bought it on holiday in Japan. A good pick for me when I'm not really in the mood for perfume because it gives me freshly shampood hair vibes instead of perfume.

This literally smells like PARCO or Takashimaya department stores in Japan. It is cold to the smell and a bit fruity and musky. This is a safe blind buy !

It's fresh with lovely green notes and white flower notes. I think it's good for hot days that you want something cool and fresh but not aquatic.

It's a pretty smell but it is soo sweet and quite strong. More floral than fruity to me. I won't reach for it often.

Very lovely and interesting at first. It's sweet and playful, but gets boring after a while.

Water lilly rose and lightly fruit - i can see this being very easy to wear in the spring

Bought a sample of this and did not wait long enough for the dry down. The lily is too strong for me — I have an aversion to lily and can’t handle any perfume that features it. It smells so clean, powdery and posh like a fabulous shampoo, and I feel like this scent, and most of J Scent’s collection, would please Jo Malone fans.

There is a fruity scent in the beginning, then followed by a cassis leaf smell that then overtakes everything. It is a bit musky, but still fresh. It then just smells more green after the dry down. The destination isn't bad, its just I'm not very into cassis leaf and wished it hadn't overpowered everything.

Pleasant fruity scent, but also very soapy and shampoo-y. Smells like an ordinary green apple scented liquid soap or shower gel...

Light, aquatic, and slightly fruity like a shampoo but less synthetic.

The water lily is prominent on my skin. Slightly shampoo-y.

I love the way J-Scent perfumes are blended. I'm not usually thinking about the notes, but the overall impression. And so often they evoke nostalgia or a memory. This one reminds me of a bubble bath, specifically one with baby shampoo or soap. I would never really gravitate towards a fragrance with the notes in this fragrance (florals and fruits) but there is something I really like about this.

The sales associate at the niche perfume store near me said this emulates a scene in a romance movie where lovers run toward each other in the rain. I think it's a fun, soapy scent. The apple really comes through and it does smell like a shampoo I used to use when I was younger. It's nice for something fresh on a hot or humid day

STRONG smell of vanilla and sugar. That is basically all that I smell, so I was surprised to re-read the notes here. Maybe I received the wrong sample?
