Ramune (Japanese Soda)

Ramune is fizzy, minty, uplifting and one of my personal favorites. It opens with a bright, powdery fizz that tingles the senses. A strong mint note hits right away, giving the scent a cooling effect that’s refreshing and relaxing. The mint lingers in my nose, not in an annoying way — more like a soft, calming breeze. This scent seems to change with the weather. On hotter days, it leans more citrusy and sparkling, like sipping on a cold drink at a summer picnic or festival. In cooler weather, it morphs into something crisper and more powdery, almost like cool fall air — not mountain or oceanic, just that feeling of clean fall air brushing your face. There’s a blend of aldehydes and fruity citrus notes that keep it feeling metallic-fresh and just sweet enough. There’s a clear floral presence, but this isn’t a floral-heavy scent. I also get a wet, watery feel that’s hard to place — not quite aquatic, but definitely dewy. Add in a touch of soft green (not fougère), and you’ve got a scent that feels alive. I’ve never tasted real Ramune soda, but if this is what it's supposed to be then it's beautiful. Projection is more on the moderate-to-close side, and longevity is average. This fragrance lifts my mood every time I wear it, and it’s become one of my favorite scents in my collection.

Ramune is a children’s soda with a plastic marble, a red-pink color, and effervescent, strawberry kool-aid like flavor. I always order it with my ramen, and it’s the perfect savory-sweet combination. This perfume is an elevated version but perfectly reminiscent of the strawberry soda scent. The opening has the tiniest note of mint with citrus but primarily is photorealistic Ramune. The aldehydes are a light touch for effervescence but not at all soapy like a Chanel. Normally I’m not a fan of watery-green florals like lily of the valley or waterlily, but the slightly green floral touch elevates this fragrance from a cheap, Demeter smell-a-like scent to a filled out, fully constructed perfume. Otherwise this might be too sickly sweet, so in here I admire the subtle contrast and balance the bitter aldehydes and green florals provide. It took a few wears of a 2 ml sample to decide but did buy a full-sized bottle from LuckyScent. I believe you can also buy travel sizes (10 ml) directly from J-Scent but then you’re paying for shipping too.

Today I've learned I'm sensitive when it comes to aldehydes because whoo boy that first sniff was a lot. Let me preface this with: this scent is gorgeous! but at first oh my god it smells like lemon pledge and plastic. This is definitely a scent that does better on skin than paper, it takes some of that powdery, artificiality of the aldehydes away and gives it that true "fizzy" note. The citrus in this is gorgeous, and when combined with the florals, raspberry, and vanilla creates a lovely zesty lemon candy scent. Only downside is I wouldn't necessarily describe this as ramune, it's almost *too* citrusy for that. Still tasty though! Sillage is mildly disappointing, I don't smell it at all unless my arm is near my face. I suppose you'd need more than 1 spray of course, so I could be misjudging. Also judging by these other reviews, it's a toss-up if this pulls more like candy or cleaning spray on your skin so buyer beware.

It has a very realistic scent of ramune. It’s the kind of ramune sold at Japanese festivals (Natsu-Matsuri), aimed at children. It really brings back memories. What’s amazing about this perfume is that the scent settles quickly, becoming a composition that captures “fun summer memories and that atmosphere.” It’s not just a cloyingly sweet ramune soda; it’s crafted to gradually build a sense of melancholy as it dries down. I feel like I can smell my mother’s scent in the back. It reminds me of the day when I was five years old—I got so carried away at the Natsu-Matsuri that I got tired and fell asleep in my mother’s arms. I recommend spraying it generously. You can buy it for around $30 in Japan, but it seems to be more expensive if purchased overseas. so If you’re traveling to Japan, enjoy the Natsu-Matsuri and ramune, and find yourself loving the atmosphere, you might want to pick this up before you leave.

Drinking a fizzy grape soda with a mouthful of bubblemint gum. Like other J-Scent frags it sits close to the skin. I get whiffs of it here and there when I'm moving, so I think it can create a nice little personal scent bubble. It's very bright and clean, the the fruits don't get rotten and the florals stay very delicate. The dry down is a little soapy. The longevity is not the greatest, I've found some J-Scents last better than others. I can see myself reaching for this a lot during the summer, though.

This really does smell like Ramuné in the air! I blind bought this fragrance for my wife and I because we love Ramuné and we are both happy with this fragrance. On my skin, this projects heavily, and is quite dynamic, and the dry down is actually very pleasant, but the opening is very strong and I would not recommend sticking your nose in a fresh squirt, but catching whiffs in the air! Definitely recommend finding a Ramuné original flavor too! It’s like lemon-lime and bubblegum flavor!

It's impossible for me to rate the notes on this one because I genuinely can't differentiate them, it just smells like photorealistic Ramune soda to me. Awesome unami smell. I wore this at my concessions job and it "cancelled out"/made more tolerable the greasy overpowering oily popcorn and hotdog stench.

It smells like ramune! Boyfriend tells me it smells like SweetTarts candy - strong sweet and sour, fresh and summery. Hits hard at first. Fizzy. Childhood summers by the pool and melting popsicles. I never had a ramune until I was an adult, but there you go. Girly and fun, certainly lives up to the name.

This smells like sitting on the ground on a hot summers day, side by side with your best bud. The two of you sipping on a freshly opened ramune soda. the cool liquid refreshing you and making you feel at peace in this moment while you listen to the crickets and cicadas in the long grass.

Smells just like Japanese Ramune soda but a bit spicy? Very unique summer/hot weather fragrance that I am personally a fan of, but its polarizing for sure. I recommend testing it on your skin first as it smells great on me but absolutely putrid on my friend.

When I first smelled it, the zing of carbonated soda was so dead on I almost winced! Bubblegummy, lemon sugar-y but not so heavy that you feel bogged down. It's light and airy with a crisp minty, ginger type kick. Smells like nostalgia to me

Straight from the bottle, it smells extremely comparable to the actual soda. It's a little less bubblegummy than standard Ramune, but it's got a fruity, almost grape-smelling zing to it and it really does smell fresh and fizzy. Once you actually spray it, though, it sort of loses that sweet fizziness and becomes more of a generic "clean" scent that is reminiscent of cleaning products as others have outlined here. It's still nice in its own right--its addictive in the same way a dryer sheet, dishwasher pod, and Fabuloso are--but it's really not what you'd expect. I actually do like this one, but had I bought the full bottle, I might have felt a little cheated. On paper, it's a candy-like, juvenile scent, but in practice it's actually more of a sweet and clean scent that I find a bit more mature. It's certainly unique and worth a try.

I like it but I have been asked if I'd just come from a nail salon before hahaha; I can definitely see how it picks up like acetone or some artificial fragrance in a spray bottle cleaner 🧼 It's a fun zingy and summery scent, and I really like how it captures the carbonation and tangy grape-ish flavor, although I don't think a full bottle is necessary for most people. I'm lucky that my friend bought this for me when she went back home to Tokyo (full sized bottle was $36 at the time, compared to $110 on global website), so considering that price point, I am satisfied ☺️

First thing that came to mind when I smelled this was cherry tobacco. Ofcourse, it does smell like Ramune but probably due to the (i'm guessing) raspberry at the top being pretty strong on my skin, I think of cherry tobacco. Didn't get much of the citruses on my skin tho. As is dries down, it gets soapier and the florals come out more along with the vanilla. This has pretty good projection and longevity on me. Due to the sweetness, i'd say this would work well in cooler weather. Overall, pretty nice scent.

To the reviewer below,$15.. not in the USA. If it were that cheap I would buy 3 bottles. I have never smelled ramune but this screams Summer. It is on the light side but does lasts 6-8 hours. I was afraid to wear it because of all the floral notes but it's perfectly unisex. As mentioned it's got that fizzy lemon lime vibe that dries down to a light floral with a touch of sweetness. 80 bucks for 50ml is a bit on the steep side for this type of scent IMO but it was a pleasure to sample it.

Ramune is a very cheerful, uplifting and fun fragrance. It really does smell like soda. The aldehydes give it that sparkling fizzy feel in the opening. I should say I've never had ramune, but I have had a ramune flavoured candy and this smells exactly the same. I get a few hours of wear out of it and I'm happy with that. It's a nice pick me up type of scent.

Fun! Fizzy, citrusy, slightly fruity effervescent perfume that’s legitimately different to anything I’ve smelled yet. I do get a little soap but that’s probably just a side effect of the aldehydes. My beef with this, like many j scent perfumes, is that on my skin at least, it doesn’t last. I get about a half hour out of this, start to finish.

this is so good it smells so refreshing such a nice citrus but i wish the top notes would last longer on skin after a few hours it leaves the skin with a clean musky scent which is fine but i am still getting the citrus top notes on the clothing. it reminds me a lot of the scent big blue by lush
