Viva La Juicy Neon

The Juicy Couture fragrances aren’t the most sophisticated ones out there but, they are fun and youthful and pack some fruity notes that are energetic and feminine. This caught my eye when I was going to repurchase Pink Couture...and I had my husband with me so I spritzed and he was the one who loved it on me. I thought it was pretty as well and I’m glad that I grabbed a full size bottle because the wear on this is a little weaker...gone in about 4 hrs or so on skin but lasted longer on clothing and in my hair. The grapefruit note on this is very strong upon first spritz and the fragrance dries to smell like grapefruit sherbet with a kick of woodsy amber from the wood and tonka bean notes. Easy to wear for someone like me who likes citrus fragrances that stay fruity vs leaning or turning floral. I can’t wear fragrances like Light Blue from D&G or some of Tom Fords citrus fragrances like Mandarino because the floral notes turn sour on me...so VLJ Neon is a pretty good alternative!

Viva La Juicy Neon is very pretty and a lot more balanced than I expected. Which, shame on me honestly because all of the Juicy Couture fragrances I have tried have been strong likes or loves so I don't know why I still expect poor quality from this house. Preconceived judgements I suppose. Anyway, this is nice. Grapefruit is a challenging note for me because it can often be super strong and bitter. Here, though, it's softer and blended really well with the orange blossom, tonka bean, and woodsy notes. In fact, the tonka bean and woodsy notes might be my favorite part of this fragrance. It's so lovely and my nose is very happy. I have a sample of this that I will happily use up. I would consider buying a bottle if I found one at TJ Maxx

I love most of the viva la juicy scents and this is no different, they are all easy to wear and pleasant, nothing groundbreaking. This smells like you would imagine based on the notes, it's vlj with a grapefruit top note. I really like this one a lot, but I have a bone to pick with juicy perfumes in general. All of these are pretty expensive and they don't last at all, when I say this only lasts an hour, i'm dead serious. If i'm spending $100 on a perfume I expect it to last longer than a bath & body works body spray. I still love the way these smell though so I will continue to buy them regardless. If you decide to buy this just be aware it's a VERY expensive body mist.

After reading a couple reviews I figured this would totally suck but go give it a try. It’s more interesting than most juicy fragrances. At first you get the grapefruit strongly. It made me think of mandarin oranges but it’s grapefruit. Then it dries into a really bright fruity sweet fragrance. The performance isn’t the greatest but it’s moderate and sillage is surprisingly decent for me. If you want a really unique fragrance, I’d steer clear on this one as it’s not intended to be, but if you like fruity scents with a musky dry down this will be great for you! Give it a shot.

Grapefruit bomb over the original VLJ is what this smells like to me, which sounds negative, but it is NOT. I absolutely love the grapefruit note. It is warm and fresh and truly smells JUICY. Like a ripe, succulent grapefruit fresh from the warm sun. It's December in the US right now, and I kind of prefer citrus scents in winter, so I feel like it is a lovely choice for daytime. It reminds me of So Pink by GAP (at least, my memory of it, which was also strong grapefruit). Fresh and light and warm. One of the best (if not THE best) VLJ varieties I have tried.

i did not expect to love this one as much as i do. i dont think anyone should comment about how long a perfume lasts because it varies from person to person. on me, this lasts a very long time! the first spray is a burst of citrus in a good way! then it dries down to a nice floral scent. i have sort of grown out of really strong floral scents, but this one is just right. i also am not a huge citrus perfume fan anymore (i do not enjoy light blue) but for whatever reason, this one is unique to me!

Maybe this will replace our dearly departed OUI for me... Maybe. Excuse me while I go sob. I'm still mourning. This is fine so far. It certainly smells like it says it does. But I'm wishing it had that watermelon and pear effervescence that OUI strutted around with.

I’ve been testing it in boutiques and it’s a very citrusy hyper-feminine smell with floral hints, it really owns up to the name it’s a really neon sexy party girl vibe.

the way this dries down on me makes me smell exactly like the vinyl on a brand new american girl doll and i love it

Did you grow up in the 1970's or '80's? If so you may understand what I get from this and why I like it so much. This smells like grapefruit, school, & Springtime '79, & I LOVE it. It really does stink though, & I will only wear it to bed or around the house. I don't think it's necessarily appealing, but it is intriguing & takes me back to a more simple time. I have no idea why this is called Neon. Our moms (collectively) would serve grapefruit for a Spring breakfast. Sliced on the equator, carefully cut from the center down to the membrane to release each segment. If I was in my bedroom, I could smell this from the kitchen, as the bruised flesh of the citrus released volatile oils into the air. We would sit down to the halved fruit & were allowed, (for reasons not understood to anyone on the planet now), to take as much granulated sugar as we would like, by heaping teaspoonfuls, from a community sugar jar, & dump it on the fruit. Combined, the sugar would hit the acid & melt on contact, releasing a heady neuro-other worldly mist that mingled w/ flowers & the other smells of my childhood age 10-12: School bus tires, asphalt, the synthetic fabric of my windbreaker jacket, gerbil litter, Barbie dolls, pencil shavings from the school hand cranked sharpener, the water fountain that smelled some how like actual water, & the soap dispenser that would release a rough powdered detergent to wash your grimy hands with. Sweaty hair from recess that still faintly smelled of Prell Shampoo from your Saturday night bath, gymnasium basket balls, chalk board erasers, sweaty moon boots in the classroom coat closet, Strawberry Hubba-Bubba, and Love's Baby Soft. Every time I spray this, I smell all of that. It's weird, but it is indeed still wrapped up in quintessential Juicy. It makes me crave pink velour, a bologna sandwich, a Nancy Drew book & a fresh start. 🍋🚌🐹🌷🏀👟🧴 Sheridan🥰

So, I did break down and buy this (I believe it's being phased out, as it was on sale at Ulta). I do like a good grapefruit fragrance done right, like Flowerbomb in the Sky. I could not resist this little treasure's obnoxiously bright pink crystal bottle. The shade is a warmer pink, similar to an inflatable clear hot pink furniture set (for Barbies) I had as a child in the 90s. As for the actual scent, it has the signature creamy synthetic white floral signature of the Juicy line, and some sugared citrus that I wish lasted longer. I find it pleasant, and I am glad it is quite soft. If it were strong and I wore it on an empty stomach, it would get cloying fast. But, this is a nice grab when I don't want to wear something serious and want to wear something in the vein of a VS body mist with a touch more class.

In me this scent had zero to di with the similar scents people voted - bar the viva la juicy and a little of the burberry. This one had an eraser vibe, it's got the feel of the viva line, a bit of bubbly, a bit if another one or two, maybe noir, kinda, there's another pink bottle I've seen about.. Nice one, this could be a little woodier maybe, plus the general juicy thing vlj has going on. Not amazing longevity, I got three hours ish, got about the same out of si eclat, angel edt, and a couple Lagerfeld, maybe try this one on its own, I've had better luck with lasting as I got older from vlj

When JC sent me a sample of this, I had absolutely zero expectations. Especially, after all I’ve read I was expecting to hate it but I actually don’t! This scent is so nostalgic to me. It takes me back to high school when I used to use The Body Shops Pink Grapefruit body products with Victoria Secret Pure Seduction Bloom layered over, which they very sadly discontinued. Does anyone remember that one? Back when the bottles were more of a v shape? That was my teenage signature scent. 😂 It’s nothing groundbreaking but despite the bad rap it’s received, I think it’s kind of fun? ❤️ K x

This perfume is a day time, summer time and maybe spring time scent, you can definitely smell the grapefruit, orange blossom and tonka beans in the fragrance notes! I'm not the biggest fan of grapefruit at all but this smelt good and I just can't decide if I love this perfume or just actually like it a lot since I feel like it does smell a bit young but I would still buy a small spray bottle. I would rate this perfume⭐⭐⭐⭐

I just bought this at shoppers drug mart the full 100ml for 36$ my senses are it’s discontinued?? Or going to be I dunno but it smells just like Ari maybe not as sweet but it has that whole sweet and sour thing going on then gets more powdery on the dry down similar to a sweet tart. I like it, it’s not a love but I have a feeling hubby will be into this one.

The realistic grapefruit in this scent reminds me of Mugler Cologne Fly Away. All I get for the first few hours I wear this is bright, tart, grapefruit 😍 Unlike Mugler Cologne Fly Away, the dry down for this is sweet and vaguely nutty. So far, this would be my second favorite Juicy Couture scent out of the ones I’ve tried.

While killing time at Ulta, I gave this one a try and was shocked at how much I liked it. The bottle is a tacky abomination, but the juice isn't juvenile or garish. The grapefruit top is quite good and I ended up compromising on a travel spray. My first acquisition from this house and I've sampled them all to date.

This smells like a citrusy slightly sharper Viva La Juicy to me. After dry down most of the citrus fades to reveal the heart of Viva La Juicy, at which point it is almost her twin except Neon remains slightly sharper. It's a fun flanker that will feel refreshing in the spring and summer.

The fragrance is pleasant, though it does not elicit the same level of enthusiasm as my other preferred perfumes. Nevertheless, it possesses a delightful scent and is certainly worthy of consideration. It receives compliments wherever I go and is suitable for both men and women.

very fresh scent, but still feminine and pretty! i got a sample of this and absolutely fell inlove, may buy a full bottle...i just wish it lasted longer. smells almost like a clean shampoo but i personally like those types of perfumes lol

Ahh finally a citrus that I feel like I can wear in the fall . It’s not a sour citrus , but more like the grapefruit rhind with candied pink grapefruit . Musky notes in the background. Getting a full size!!!

super juicy grapefruit - that’s pretty much all i smell here, maybe a tiiiny hint of the orange blossom here and there. not my usual sort of thing personally but it is nice. ideal for summer.

The notes listed here differ from those listed by the seller, which are as such: Top: Grapefruit, lemon primofiore, raspberry Heart: Orange blossom, gardenia, jasmine sambac Base: Musk, tonka, wood notes I've found that Viva la Juicy Neon tends to burn my nostrils and even my throat on the first spray. Most recently, my throat was burning for a good ten minutes after applying it. This, despite the fact that I can't get any projection from it no matter what I do, not even in the first few minutes. Those first notes are the grapefruit and lemon, with a hint of candied raspberry, which don't hang around in any substantial way for long. There's this bright, juicy, oh so promising first few minutes, then they're mostly gone, leaving a lingering ghost of fruity smell. This layers on top of the faintest illusion of florals, indistinct and vague. Mostly I get a hint of musk, the occasional waft of flowers, and it's all over within 3-4 hours. I wrote in my notes: "Very Juicy Couture, not very neon." I feel like more could've been done with this, mostly if it were stronger. I'm certain I would've enjoyed it more if it was stronger, to justify the alcohol-soaked first few minutes.

this is just okay for me. very fruity and considerably sharp with my chemistry. i saw another reviewer say this scent is nostalgic for them and i'd have to agree-- this reminds me of a barbie perfume i had as a kid as well as the victoria's secret body sprays my mom passed down to me in the early 00s. a youthful, fun scent that's fairly inoffensive but not my cup of tea. i don't see myself running out to buy a full bottle when my decant is finished up, but i'm glad to have a taste of this nostalgia bomb.

Diet lemonade. Yes. That is my first impression. Loud, lemony, sharp with a lot of sugar to make it go down nicely but not quite managing it. Diet lemonade because it's sweet and synethetic. It's kinda nice at first swig but the after taste makes you regret it the more you drink. It weirdly suits the name Neon. Like if Mountain Dew was lemonade Neon. Strong at first sniff but barely there after an hour. Got it as a sample and eh...pass.

The immediate opening reminded me of Black Opium Illicit Green which I quite liked but as it developed it became apparent that it’s very much giving Y2K body spray vibes - unsurprisingly very youthful, fun & sweet. It just reminds me of shampoo - fruity, floral & clean. I’m not the target audience for this one but if I was there’s better performing fragrances out there in this fragrance family.

I was lucky enough to get a purse spray of this from Amazon. On initial spray, it smells very fruity and juicy, almost like Skittles or Starburst. It's a nice scent, but it fades pretty quickly on my skin and on paper. Overall it's just ok. Not my favorite VLJ flanker and it doesn't last long enough for me to buy a full bottle

I immediately sensed grapefruit, and I was very pleased to find I was right. It’s zesty, refreshing, and accurate but neither overly sharp nor too sweet. Not sour or bitter, just sweet. It’s a straightforward, decent scent that delivers exactly what it promises.

Smells like if sunny D made a perfume. definitley an exclusively summer daytime perfume to whip out when you want to wake up and get a little bit of summer at your office job. At least- thats what I would do if I had an office job and if I bothered to wake up xD

This smells mostly soapy to me, slightly creamy. Youthful, I might even go as far as saying childish. Not very interesting, but sometimes you don't need interesting, you need an easy clean grab - this can fill that purpose.

You can definitely smell the VLJ DNA in this, with a sharper grapefruit note on top. I like the smell but the performance is terrible. I sprayed this less than an hour ago and it’s pretty much gone.

The initial spray gives you a blast of citrus, followed by... not much else. As others have said, it does not last at all. There are much better citrus scents available.

I really like the bright grapefruit top of Viva La Juicy Neon, mixed with the sweet orange blossom. I just don't like that as soon as it starts drying on my skin I immediately smell background omnipresent whiffs of the original Viva La Juicy, which I am not a huge fan of. I can appreciate the original Viva La Juicy for what it is sometimes, but in here, it doesn't have any richness. There's this weird rubbery sweet synthetic quality that comes from the Juicy Couture base that is overtaking anything bright and natural in this perfume. It's like if the floral accord from Viva La Juicy were somehow rubbery. It smells okay in the air, but when I sniff my skin, all I smells is a lovely orange blossom drowning in a hot mess.

Oooh I do like this one a lot Now when it comes to Juicy Couture fragrances I do always go for the super sweet ones. Now I have smelt neon and it was super fruity and sour and I still get a little hint of the original iconic viva La juicy scent just without the caramel note if that makes sense. 🤷🏼♂️ Overall the scent is very nice super fruity at first spray I get the grapefruit note and it’s pretty strong. The bottle is cute obviously it’s the famous Viva La Juicy bottle but in different colour

I don't know if they reformulated, or y'all in the comments here lied to me but this smells like cheap grapefruit body wash. No sweetness, no dessert, no hint of the OG VLJ DNA... it's cute but boring and not nearly as lovely as other people have described. I'm glad I can return this because it is a *bummer*.

With the appearance of the bottle, I expected this fragrance to have more liveliness to it. It doesn't smell bad, but it's not a scent that draws you in or makes you think "I want to smell like this". There's no spark, no sillage, and no longevity.

I 100% agree with emilyforestgirl's review: this turned sour on me as well. It (immediately) turned into a nasty citrusy/bo scent. A pungent citrus at that too. Not sweet or juicy. Definitely a no from me.

I like most of the Juicy line that I have smelled. I received this sample and it REEEEKS. I applied it to my wrists and instantly both of us went PHEW that stinks! All either of us could smell is overpowering Lemon lysol. The only redeeming quality it has is that it wore off pretty fast. All thumbs down, clothespin on my nose. Yuck!

If you are familiar with the easy to wear Viva and it's flankers, expect the usual over character; lightly floral, youthful sweetness, and an everyday coverall grab that is a treat to spray in a scent pinch. Where Neon differs comes in the form of an electric... cough... Neon... grapefruit. It stands out like a glowing beer sign on brick backdrops. Sweet and bitter, the grapefruit is a surprisingly welcome addition to the note list. Juicy tends to go for added syrupy density or, more recently, a champagne in Bubbly. Grapefruit takes Juicy Couture up a few elevator floors up into something to consider longer than a passing whiff. Dare I say, during the writing of this review I enjoyed the middle phase of Neon on me? The bottle is as Juicy and pink as ever, the scent is a refreshing departure from the 1,400 others in the line. Dry down is content in it's Juicy Couture world. Neon si worth getting your nose on, even if it's just for a flicker.

smells like bug spray. week later: I just took a chance because my boyfriend picked this one out of the samples I showed him, and I sprayed this on my feet (that's what I do when I don't think I'll like a fragrance, so it's not in my face) because I got tricked into thinking I'd like this because I love grapefruits and vanilla which this opens with a fruity fantasy smell, but nah. It is has an extremely overpowering "bergamont" type smell. I sprayed it twice (huge regret) It's only been a few minutes. I'm gagging and getting ready to pray I can wash this off. I believe it's the orange blossom and wood that I despise. There's an awful element of black hair grease smell. It has a "men's cologne" smell to it that absolutely detest. That's the new thing to be a woman walking around with men's cologne on thinking you're hip but ugh it's just gross, it reminds me of gross aftershave from the 70s like brut. bleh gag.

on the way to work in a heatwave i realised i didn’t have enough summer appropriate fragrances in my collection, so i stopped by my local fragrance store and tried on a few - including viva la juicy neon! the initial spray is such a refreshing, bright and playful grapefruit, neon definitely lives up to its name as it reminds me of a bright neon sign on a summer day! the scent made me feel so cool and refreshed on such such a hot day that i bought it on the spot ! the bottle is gorgeous, albeit a little obnoxious with the bow and large top, i did notice that the sillage was a little weak and that it didn’t seem to last very long on me unless i was pulling my wrist directly up to my nose and even then it wasn’t that strong overall a fun and playful refreshing grapefruit scent ♡

It's ok, would probably use it in summer as a topper on top of other scents because it lasts literally five minutes. I sprayed it on my arm and went back to smell it after five minutes or so and it's gone 😂 I've only got a free sample so at least I haven't spent money on it. It smelled like grapefruit and maybe a hint of a soapy scent underneath. The VERY faint hint of a scent left on my skin after about ten minutes reminds me of Ariana Grande Ari. Not horrible but not something I'd be compelled to buy and the performance is totally unacceptable for the price. I have £15 Middle Eastern fragrances that last all day and night so there's no excuse. I'd rather just use Ari.

well i have to agree with some of the posters & say this is NOT it lol........i loved the lemon lysol reference by fireorchid - too funny but i totally agree lol i kind of feel like juicy couture is running out of mix designs & they are just throwing anything together all willy nilly lol...........i love a lot of their older perfumes - nice girly florals but this was was a total miss..........also not fond of the "oui" line either - doesnt dry down well & even weaker than original juicy coutures lol sorry neon u were returned :)

I associate intensely bright with neon. Juicy Couture should have named the Pink Couture flanker as neon instead because that one was intense and super juicy. Neon on the other hand is light and has some fresh green undertone to it. Hence it smells more like Viva La Juicy shampoo. The most lightweight of all flankers.

I hadn’t ever even heard of this so today when I saw it at my SDM and they offered me a travel spray of it I was so excited (I have the best SDM in all of Canada !!!) so this is really bright smelling if that makes sense? Citrusy makes me think yellow and lime green kind of thing! I can’t wait to buy the full size

This one is deceptively simplistic in the note profile but it is such a lovely gourmand grapefruit with white floral vanilla crème. It’s like a summery citrus whipped cream dessert and a base of amber! I love this one, it’s one of my favorites from Juicy Couture and I’ve smelled almost all of them.

I LOVE the OG, but this fragrance is weird. When in SDM I sprayed it on my clothes under my nose, I didn't like it at all - it was strong and unpleasant, and I could tell what exactly I smelled. Only on the second day I liked the way that spot on my clothes smelled. Still it was a weak ''like''...

JC's DNA but this is softer on my skin. And that's why I like it. VLJ is not for me, it's not sweet on my skin. Neon has orange blossom and tonka bean, maybe these notes soften the scent. If the original was not your cup of tea, perhaps this is. Easy to wear, not a complex scent.
