Lust for Sun

Beachy, sweet, sunny, bright, white floral, yellow floral, citrusy, radiant, coconut, creamy/lactonic, musky, vanilla, feminine, sensual, seductive, luminous, lush, luxe, alluring, tempting, intriguing, inviting, transporting, nostalgic On me this opens radiant and tropical with sweet and creamy coconut, fresh and clean freesia, and bright and citrusy bergamot. The heart blooms with lush gardenia and jasmine, exotic ylang ylang, and sweet orange blossom. The base envelopes you in a sensual and warm musky vanilla. The notes that are the most prominent on me are the coconut, gardenia, musk, and vanilla. This has a luxe monoi oil and Sun tan lotion vibe which I really love. This does have a really beautiful Tiare flower scent too because of the monoi oil accordI adore beachy/coconut fragrances, especially monoi/Sun tan lotion ones like this! This brings to mind long days spent on the beach, warm sun on bare skin, white sand, Crystal clear aqua water, and a warm ocean breeze with tropical flowers on it. I do think there are some similarities to several of the fragrances in the “reminds me” section, at least to a certain degree. I find similarities with Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Kate Spade Live Colorfully, Replica Beach Walk, Phlur Beach Skin. However, they also have enough differences to not be redundant owning them. I have several JHAG fragrances including Lust for Sun, Vanilla Vibes, Powder Love (my 3 faves!), Miami Shake, Magnolia Bliss, Not a Perfume, Pear Inc, and Juliette. I really enjoy the brand, although I’m not a huge fan of Juliette, but I’m not particularly into cherry fragrances usually. Their fragrances do typically have quite a musky scent to them, particularly in the base. I really love their bottles. They’re made of thick glass, even the travel sprays, and they’re usually done in lovely ombré colors. Powder Love is in a super pretty soft pink frosted bottle, and Not a Perfume is in a chic white bottle. I get great performance with Lust for Sun. The longevity is very good, it lasts 8+ hours on my skin. The projection is moderate to strong, it radiates out at least a few feet from me. For reference, some of my other beachy favorites include Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, Bobbi Brown Beach, JHAG Vanilla Vibes, Alien Goddess, Kayali Maui in a Bottle, Kayali Maldives in a Bottle, Utopia Vanilla Coco, Flowerbomb Tiger Lily, Ellis Brooklyn Vanilla Salt, Miami Nectar, Sand, Phlur Beach Skin, SDJ 39, Rio Radiance/87, BBW Coco Paradise, Oahu Coconut Sunset, At the Beach, Beach Nights For those looking for a straight sun tan lotion scent I highly recommend Bobbi Brown Beach. If you’re looking for a straight monoi oil scent you should try Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines and/or Kilian Sunkissed Goddess.

Beachy, sweet, white floral, yellow florals citrusy, musky, lactonic, coconut, vanilla, radiant, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, sunny, alluring, tempting, addictive, intriguing, inviting, comforting, nostalgic This is such a pretty and beachy scent that’s centered around monoi oil and white florals with a tropical touch of coconut, and a musky dry down. The most prominent notes on my skin are the gardenia, jasmine, coconut, musk, and ylang ylang. It’s got a lovely sun tan lotion-like scent too, although that likely comes from the monoi oil (at least I’ve always thought they had a similar scent). It certainly keeps its promise of being reminiscent of sun warming bronzed skin. This was my 1st perfume from JHAG along with Vanilla Vibes! I really enjoy both of them, as I’m a big fan of beachy/coconut fragrances as well as vanillas and gourmands! I also own Powder Love (which I absolutely adore!), Magnolia Bliss, Not A Perfume, and I have 5ml bottles of Pear Inc and Juliette (Juliette being my least favorite as it’s quite medicinal on me). Lust For Sun is in my top 3 along with Powder Love and Vanilla Vibes. I own quite a few fragrances with similar “beachy” scent profiles. If this is too floral heavy, or musky for you, you might want to check out some of these other ones. Beachy, Sunny, happy, bright, warm, creamy, luxurious, softly sweet, with lush, tropical, Solar florals. This is so very beautiful! It’s like tropical sunshine in a bottle! Sun warming your skin, sand between your toes, a fresh, ocean breeze with sweet and creamy lush tropical florals on it! Lust for Sun has such a gorgeous beachy scent! I really pick up on the luxurious monoi oil, tropical coconut, fresh and bright bergamot, warm vanilla, and with a bed of lush Solar florals of syrupy sweet orange blossom, creamy and sweet ylang ylang and gardenia, and fragrant jasmine. It does have a little of a sun tan lotion only more chic vibe, which I love! I swear that I read somewhere either on the box or on their site that this has a monoi oil note in it. Either way, I’m picking up on it and getting sweet and luxurious monoi oil vibes with this one! Maybe it’s from the coconut and gardenia? I’m kind of obsessed with the scent of monoi oil, so this is a must have for me... It was love at very first sniff! Lust For Sun has become part of my regular warmer weather top favorite fragrance rotation which also includes: Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, and JHAG Vanilla Vibes! I also get really great performance with Lust For Sun! Excellent longevity, I can smell it throughout the entire day. Very nice silage, it projects out about an arm’s length from me. This really reminds me of Kilian Sunkissed Goddess! Lust For Sun is the closest smelling fragrance to Sunkissed Goddess that I have come across so far, so it’s a great option for something more affordable.

This is one of those fragrances that you should get into your collection if you’re lusting for those ultra feminine white florals with tropical and coconut nuances and you love vanilla in the base of your perfumes. For me, Lust for Sun is less summertime beachy than I have anticipated and more of a solar floral forward scent. Do not get me wrong, I absolutely adore all the flowers listed in here but I was expecting that the coconut would shine more in the composition because of its name. I automatically associated in my mind that Lust for Sun would be a coconuty, beachy, floral for summer when I heard the name and seen the promotional materials for the launch. It’s not 100% percentage what I expected but I love it. Personally, I’m a big white floral fan so Lust for Sun is right up to my alley nonetheless. I’d say get this if you are looking into a fragrance with a tropical twist on a gardenia/freesia/jasmine centred scent and you also want some coconut, vanilla and ylang ylang in your scent! This is it! Performance is not phenomenal but compared to my other two bottles from Juliette Has a Gun, Lust for Sun has the best performance. Don’t think it’s too much to wear in the summer heat, it’s not projecting too much, it’s not very sweet and it’s not too heavy on the amroxan either. I am aware that some people just don’t like ambroxan in their fragrances. It’s a very balanced scent with a gorgeous, sunsety, colourful bottle. I got my bottle during a sale and it’s worth for me, even though this scent profile is nothing new and I have similar scents in my collection.

You have to like white florals & gardenia & that beachy sunscreeny type of perfumed to love this! I be disagree with the weird scents mentioned in the negative reviews. The only thing I can see people hating this if they don’t like white florals, strong gardenia & sunscreen type of perfumes. See, all of these notes are in my comfort family, but I still expected the concoction to be different however because I do like these notes for summer I do love this! I layer it with a nice similar vibe body spray like sol de Janeiro Rio radiance for example. It is a beautiful perfume & I got 100ml for 60€ on my birthday so it was a steal (to me) but it will be the only bottle I own, since it’s 100ml & very seasonal wear to me, it will last me years. It was a blind buy online purchase so I went with the safest to me based on notes thankfully it turned out good but I don’t think it’s blind buy safe. I do wish to try pear inc because it’s definitely also in my comfort notes family, but I realized this brand work notes in a particular way that even if the notes are ones I absolutely adore like in “powder love” perfume, it’s made in such a way that it was a disappointment but I worked it out. I think this brand may not be a safe blind buy even if you’re familiar with notes, they do it differently.

This little bottle of sunshine came as a bit of a surprise to me. I didn't seek it out, rather it came part of a package deal with the iconic Not a Perfume and I've been shocked ever since this didn't seem to catch on as quickly as that one did. When I initially dabbed this on me I was unimpressed if not a little put off. But I did some soul searching and realized my distaste for real life hot weather and a life time of traumatic summers jaded me. Lust for Sun is lovely and such a pretty fragrance. Before ever looking at the notes I could swear up and down there was lilac blooming in there. Though the jasmine/gardenia blend does make sense. I also had to hunt for that coconut note because, as some have already mentioned, it is not the syrupy "fake" coconut we're all used to in perfume. But real, genuine, coconut. Incredible. So refreshing and lush. I do believe this has a tanning lotion like quality but it's very fitting and I've been enjoying it. Oddly enough I dab some on my wrists before bed most nights. Something about it is so soothing. For sure tied for favorite from JHAG.

I enjoy this a lot! I'm not crazy about bergamot notes in general and it seems out of place here, but I'm glad that it's just a top note that is almost undetectable after 10-15 minutes. I loveee fresh white florals and it has strong gardenia and ylang-ylang middle notes which are some of my fave smells ever <3. Coconut comes through as a top note as well and I wish that the coconut lingered more but that's okay lol. My boyfriend smelled it at first spray and said that it smelled like sunscreen which I'm cool with because I love sunscreen smells. The longevity for Juliette Has A Gun fragrances is always good and the sillage is a bit above average, so it's high performing. Overall, just a really beautiful summer or spring that feels like summertime poolside childhood nostalgia. People say that it smells like laundry once it dries down which I can see, but it's definitely more complex than clean laundry and it's relatively unique. The bergamot opening is my only gripe about this, but I still really like it and would totally buy a full bottle and just thug out the top notes.

I now lust for this perfume and am searching for a small bottle of it. 🫦 I couldn't remember what this smelled like last time I was in the Sephora store so I bought the discovery set for a discount. This perfume is fantastic! 🥰 I highly recommend dabbing this instead of spray. Easy to overdo but still a classy, sophisticated scent. Both my husband and I smell spicy prominent florals, sweet citruses, a powdery undertone, the musk, the syrupy gardenia, delicate but specific orange blossom and that oh so heavenly vanillic ambroxan base. We were both instantly struck with nostalgia presenting itself as unique and new. 😮 Wowza! Damm fine formulation. I'm still impressed every time I huff my wrist. The coconut is almost drowned out by this POWERFUL perfume which doesn't fade as it evolves. It gets sweeter over time and little more powdery allowing the vanilla and coconut to come through more. It could use a 👉 touch of caramel or a very sweet vanilla 👈 to further balance this bombastic and addictive stuff. 8.5/10 Punchy Strong & Freshly Nostalgic ❤️

I (19, M) went to my local sephora searching for a summer scent and walked out having found it in this. I usually prefer citrusy and woody scents, sometimes leaning feminine but typically unisex and NEVER musky. So I was not expecting to be as blown away as I was by Lust for Sun. On a card it smelled to me to be light and sunscreeny, but it develops phenomenally on my skin. It opens sweet, floral, and slightly fruity. Very strong opening which to me is only suited to summer heat as it is overwhelming in the cold. But the real magic of this scent is the dry down. I also typically hate musky scents, so I was again shocked by how much I loved the base of this. Light white florals, coconut vanilla, and a deep warmth so unlike the musks I am used to-absolutely addicting and delicious. The base lingers for hours and hours, I've gotten as much as 14 hours out of it on top of lotion. Overall a masterclass in warm summery scents and will be my signature summer scent for a long time to come.

One thing I’ve learned from being an active member of Fragrantica is that I have to handle with kids gloves all other reviews. And it makes sense that I don’t frequently agree with the majority. We’re all individuals and we all gave different tastes, different perceptions. Having said this, I do not agree with the majority in regards to this perfume. To me, this fragrance is energizing yet comforting. I don’t care about the sunscreen vibes (who cares, and besides, I don’t think that this smells like Coppertone, at all!) just because it’s name us “lust for sun” doesn’t mean we immediately have to make the correlation with beach vibes. I love this fragrance. It’s perfect for a night out, for a date, for brunch or even to go to sleep. Flowery, yes, big flowers indeed, with a warm, cozy undertone that will start developing after 1 hour. I’ll continue reading reviews, I have to, I’m addicted to Fragrantica! But again, with a grain of salt ;)

It’s a hot summer day in the 90s, you’re 12 years old, slathered in sunscreen, a towel wrapped around your sunburnt shoulders as you leave the beach and head to your mom’s salon appointment. Upon entering the salon, you sit down in the waiting area, your hair still damp from swimming, the smell of your sunscreen mixing with the scents in the salon, and begin flipping through one of the many magazines while waiting for your mom to get her hair cut. The next page is a perfume advertisement with an already opened and used perfume strip. You rub your wrist back and forth against the thick paper hoping to transfer any remaining scent onto your skin. You lift your wrist and inhale the subtle smell of yellow and white florals mixing with the already there sunscreen, while a nearby blow dryer wafts the scent of shampoo and hairspray across the salon in your direction. This is Lust for Sun.

Tried this in a discovery set and it was the only one besides Pear Inc that I enjoyed. I already own the pear one. Lust for Sun is truly enjoyable for me. It has a lovely musk with smooth white floral. There isn't many floral fragrances I enjoy, but I will add this to my collection for sure. I'm surprised that I see such a low rating on this one. I think it's a nice summer fragrance that I would wear year-round. It's not too coconuty or sunscreen like and if you enjoy a warm musky floral I think you would like this. I usually get headaches or get tired of smelling some perfumes after a few hours, but this one does not annoy me. I'm pretty picky about perfumes I will wear and spend hard earned cash on. I would buy a full size.

i LOVE this perfume so much. my boyfriend got it for me for my birthday a few years back, and it was my signature scent all of my senior year in high school, and there's a reason why i wore it nearly everyday for a whole year. while there isn't any coconut at all, the delicateness of the florals and slight musk really make up for it. i love that it's so light yet lasts so long and projects so much!! it's a very clean and sophisticated scent that's perfect for hot summer days, especially when you live somewhere that gets to over 100 degrees nearly every day in the summer. and although i don't like jasmine very much, it's a lot more palatable in this one!! maybe i'm biased from memories and love but it's a 9.5/10!!

Sample size review: I am a fanatic for summer-beach scents and for some reason bergamot; so, I was not surprised to find one of the top notes being bergamot. This feels not as playful as a lot of summer scents but dwindles on the line between flirty and mature. It is a strooooooooong scent. One to two sprays and you are good for the rest of the day. It’s been several hours and I am still not nose blind to it so if you are sensitive to strong scents this is not the perfume for you. I, however, love getting those whiffs of it every so often and then “aw yes beautiful” it’s such a nice white floral musky mix. One of my favorite scents to be sure. When I am done with the sample I will be purchasing a bigger size.

Absolutely not for anyone who doesn't enjoy floral scents. I'm a huge fan of this one. The gardenia and jasmine notes really shine through and are complimented by a subtle, milky sweetness. Like nectar from a blossom. When I first sprayed it, I was overpowered. I felt like it wasn't unlike most antique perfumes that someone older would reach for. The longer it dried down and sat upon my skin, however, the more I fell in love. It was fresh and somehow, still different than most jasmine-heavy scents like it, though I can't quite put my finger on the difference... I think it may be the coconut, since the floral has a pleasant, gentle creamy quality to it.

I love this so much! It's gardenia heavy but also coconut is right behind, giving it a warm and very solar ambiance without being too sunscreen-y. It's a little sweet without being cloying, it's more like slightly sweetened coconut milk sweetness imo. There is a lactonic note to it I detect that boosts the coconut and makes it lean more towards coconut cream rather than suncreen. *5/18/2025 - Yesss I love this so much, when I ran out of my sample I bought a full bottle. I'm just one of those people that LOVVEEE warm white floral fragrances, it smells so lush on my skin, like it's blooming. Reminds me of a more beachy DG Garden with more coconut.

This smells like a shampoo I used in the late 90s or early 00s. I want to say the scent was called white orchid? This is a very rare JHAG that I actually like. Their scents are too synthetic for me usually, and this one isn't. I mostly get the gardenia and freesia with some ylang ylang. Lasts all day and into the night. It reminds me a lot of a "sunnier" Penhaligon's Solaris which I don't see anyone having called out for being similar. Probably not a safe blind buy just because I don't think JHAG is ever a safe blind buy, but if you like big yellow florals, look into it. If not... well, this isn't for you.

I cannot rant and rave about this fragrance enough! so beautiful and surreal! It’s powdery and warm, but also bright and lucky sensual, spicy, but smooth. Genuinely the perfect scent for the summer. Strangely pairs, very well with sunscreen. I feel as though it changes minute to minute, so by the end of the day, you’re on a whole different chapter. It really is potent so three pumps MAX is enough for one full day! it really does last, so the price is worth it to me! I just bought a 50 ML bottle. I cannot wait for my beach days this summer and seeing where this fragrance takes me.

Extremely summery! At the very beginning it smelled like sunscreen but quickly shifted to sweet florals. Literally made me out loud say "wow!" You can definitely smell the florals, citrus, and coconut and it makes a really wonderful combination! I only got a sample of it but I'm super eager to buy more when summer comes around! Edit: Same day of wearing I took a shower, could still smell it. Next morning I could STILL smell it intimately and only after really washing my wrists!

This is probably my first review in years - I love this one!!! Bought a 10ml on sale summer 24 and I use it sparingly to not run out of it. I'ts my go to if I want to feel fresh, but in an extra nice way. For example if im having a presentation but also exercising the same day. It's one of my most complemented fragrances. I really dont want to buy another fragrance but considering how much I love this one, I just might buy a full 100ml. My wallet hates me💀

I do not know why to some people it associates with sun tan lotion, not to me. On my skin this perfume projects a smooth creamy floral bouquet, I receive compliments for my perfume and use it in office, nobody says any bad word. Even when over spraying this perfume you cannot use too much as it is not strong but mildly sweet and feminine. A young innocent girls can use it and a very mature woman. Pleasant everyday perfume, especially for summer.

A gorgeous, warm floral with a tropical vibe. I've had this for a couple of weeks and get compliments every time I wear it. Very floral-heavy, I don't get the coconut, but it is beyond lovely. Is perfect for summer but could probably work in spring and maybe fall too. I had a sample bottle first and knew I would buy a full size, which I now have. Stunning, warm, comforting, and sexy. 9/10 and would likely repurchase once it's empty.

The best i can describe it is that it smells like a beautiful false memory. It’s pure comfort. If you’ve seen Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Rabbits, or really any David Lynch creation it’s very reminiscent of the comfort, the surrealism, and quietness of them. This is my go to scent. Its beautiful layered with an aquatic incense, i use cosmic lotus by alkemia with it. Perfect for going to an antique mall or record shop.

"Lust for Sun” is a delightful scent that will captivate white floral enthusiasts. It somehow evokes memories of my beloved fragrance, “Furla Irresistible.” However, instead of the violet notes “Lust for Sun” features a harmonious blend of ylang-ylang and gardenia in its middle notes. Perfect for warm seasons, this fragrance exudes freshness and lightness, making it an ideal choice for both summer and spring.

Definitely a jasmine bomb! I love white florals so this is a great scent for me. I thought the vanilla and coconut would be stronger but it’s more of a base line that gives the white florals a creamy touch. As it dries down it becomes a very floral, vanilla, light musk and I get a sunscreen-y scent from it. I really like this and it’s perfect for summer if you’re looking for a fresh clean feminine scent.

This is summer love. This is a day time, bright, clean and longer lasting version of live colorfully by Kate Spade without the anise note. Beautifully done. The ambroxan adapts to your skin chemistry as it dries down. This is one thing that Juliette has a gun does phenomenally. This is an uplifting fragrance that’s signature worthy for the spring & summer. Love at first spray ~ FBW

Luxurious, elegant while also being sexy and beach-perfect. Gardenia note is addicting and coconut compliments it perfectly. If Sol De Janeiro 81 (or 87? i can’t remember what number it is, but the yellow one) was slightly more sophisticated and floral, this would be it. Reminds me of a luxury hotel room with a beach side view. No notes, just perfect and a good blind buy choice.

In my Juliette Has a Gun discovery set, this sample stood out to me more than Not a Perfume. When I spray this, the air feels more humid, the florals are creamy, and an aura of seduction and bliss blooms on my skin. It also smells a bit like sunscreen, evoking happy memories of summer by the water. I think they were spot-on with the name Lust for Sun.

I was hesitant to get this because of the reviews but I am so glad I did because I love it!! It has quickly become one of my comfort go-to scents & definitely one of my favorites. To my nose, it’s white florals & coconut; specifically gardenia which happens to be my favorite flower. If you’re a gardenia lover, I highly recommend this.

I typically am not a fan of this line at all- it reminds me of the Liis line where the notes are just never loud enough and they're overshadowed by the sharp ambroxan. But this one..... THIS ONE <3 sexy solar vibes. If this is JHAG redefining itself, I'm here for it. I predict this to be the Hot Girl Summer fragrance of 2023.

Like a super fancy sunscreen. I simply adore this fragrance. I think if you don't like sunscreen-y scents, you'll hate this. I find the white florals to blend in really well with the coconut. My only wish is that it was a touch sweeter, but I like to layer it with a touch of something more vanilla / coconutty to achieve that.

Shocked this doesn't have a higher rating... it's so beautiful! Monoï + ylang ylang + white floral breeze. It's a heavenly beach vacation in a bottle. If you like how the Nuxe SPF/sun care smells, it's like that but elevated/more refined. Genuinely a stunner and so likable. Will be traveling with this one this summer!

I’m surprised by the notes listed here. This smells like daisy’s in the sun, a solar pyrethrum olfactory delight. It’s unusual, a phenomenon. I detect these notes and the tangy lemony bergamot note. It’s not sweet at all to me. Without dissecting each note I enjoy it more. I wouldn’t describe this as a floral.

A more floral less coconut take on a summer scent. I rotate my sunny days between this and JLo Miami glow. This is more of clean sunny floral hot summer day scent to me than the normal coconut tanning oil Hawaiian tropic scents out there. Got a sample bottle but for sure will be purchasing the full size.

Lovely scent! Very reminiscent of an old bath and body works summer body spray, but way more stepped up with some beautiful floral notes. I do not smell much coconut which is okay because its not a favorite of mine. Overall a really amazing floral summer smell! :)

This is my favorite beachy scent. There’s such a fresh, tropical vibe from this. I can pick up the bergamot and the white florals, but it’s balanced with other notes that remind me of expensive, addictive sunblock or skincare. I love it.

Really lovely! Performs super well in high heat summer, it's crisp enough that it stays fresh without being overwhelming. Relatively similar scent profile to Soleil Blanc, but this one is more pleasing and less sunscreeny

You NEED to LOVE these notes & especially yellow florals as well as this is very heavy white & yellow florals. It goes super well with Rio radiance, I like them layered even more than alone. 🤗🤍🌼

I really like this fragrance. It's nothing complex or overly special, but creamy, floral, bright, and just a nice and easy wear, especially on sunny days (no matter what season).

The more I wear it the more I love it! It's a "huffer" ( I can't stop wanting another sniff). I definitely get the tropical notes but they don't overwhelm the pretty florals.

I tried this in the store today and had to get it. It's warm and sweet and sexy. I love it. It reminds me of Perfect Nectar by Sarah Horowitz, which I have as well.
