Miami Shake

Edit: After a couple weeks of testing I've concluded that Miami Shake is a Strawberry Daiquiri with white florals. Here is what I think the notes are: Strawberry syrup, strawberry liquor, rum, coconut, milk or heavy cream, musk, jasmine, and maybe gardenia, ylang, cashmeran, and ambroxan. Miami Shake by Juliette Has A Gun is an example of the marketing not matching the product. Miami Shake is NOT A GOURMAND like Yum Bougee Marshmallow! There are additional notes/accords making it a creamy fragrance with a strange strawberry note and maybe a touch of banana. It has a milky lotion-like aspect with a slightly savory buttered popcorn accord that pops out in the dry down. The strawberry is strongest in the opening and then blends into the sweet milk with interesting heavy floral molecules that are reminiscent of gardenia or abstract white floral, which could explain the "plastic" note that some people are detecting. I agree that this smells like a distant relative to Blanche Bette, which could have been the inspiration, but overall MS is a very original, high quality release. You will probably like this if you like Blanche Bette, Burberry Her (in the opaque light pink bottle), and Ode to Dullness. You will probably not like this if you are expecting the ice cream version of Yum Bougee Marshmallow that the notes list advertises. Performance is very good. This is going on my full bottle list. 5/5

JHAG is my favourite perfume house. You can read my review for how much I love Vanilla Vibes and consider it to be a masterpiece. I’ve also lately been really enjoying Superdose and Miss Charming. One thing about JHAG is they are quality! Especially for the price point their fragrances out perform even the most luxury ones in terms of longevity and sillage so it will be money well spent And as a gourmand lover, I’ve been waiting for this release I just got my sample It’s everything I wanted it to be and actually reminds me a lot of my other love Boardwalk Delight it’s sugary juicy fun with some creaminess and in typical JHAG fashion a salty note. It’s very airy and cold, great interpretation of the ice cream note, so this isnt your typical heavy, syrupy warm bakery gourmand. This is a flirty spring summer candy like gourmand. Part of me wishes that in typical JHAG fashion it had their signature healthy dose of ambroxan for extra longevity but still, I absolutely love it and it will be my summer scent. I really like this, to me it smells like a strawberries and cream chupachup! Sometimes it dries down to if someone had lit a pocky stick shaped and scented incense stick, sometimes it stays a sticky strawberries and cream chupachup and condensed milk, I really love it in colder weather but it works in hot weather too. The longevity of this is insane, I wore it all day layered with Annabelle’s birthday cake this morning and it completely over powered ABC, I wore it to work, then set up a wrestling ring and then showered and I can still smell it on my skin, I think the JHAG base they use in all their scents can make some go nose blind easily, their vanilla vibes scent which I love always fades fast to me because I go nose blind quickly to it but still get compliments hours after I can’t smell it anymore. I can see why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I personally love it! Not a safe blind buy.

Thissss one, omg. This one knocked me flat over, but like not in a bad way. I never knew a fragrance could be so powerful. That first hit is almost too strong, I wont lie. But give it a few minutes, it turns into the brightest, fruitiest scent with cream, just like a milkshake. If you ever complain about not being able to smell a fragrance on yourself, trust me on this one, this one you absolutely will. After a couple hours, you're left with a softer, milky scent that is still super noticable. Just 10/10, a wild summer in a bottle. I will say, because of its strength, I have to be in a really certain mood to want to wear this one. One spray is plenty, btw, which is fantastic because the travel size is huuuuuge and well-priced for what you're getting. I will also always adore the name of Juliette has a Gun, like she's just iconic like that.

Oh wowwww! I love a gourmand scent and this one is absolutely delicious! I love strawberry milkshakes, so what’s better than eating one when you can’t have one? Smelling like one! The strawberry is so yummy and sweet and it evolves into a beautiful creamy vanilla. Smells exactly like a strawberry milkshake to me! I could also smell it on my clothes days after I first wore it. My sister loved the sample so much I let her keep it (but sometimes I secretly steal a spray or two, don’t tell her I said that, though). If you’re going on a cute summer outing in the daytime and love strawberry, milkshakes, both, or super sweet gourmands in general, you’ll probably want to wear this one! It’s so fun and makes me instantly feel happier once I wear it.

I'm not a fan of the JHAG house - the past decade or so, every time they release a fragrance, I'm just never drawn to what I smell. But Miami Shake is different! There's something so sexy about it. You'd be forgiven for thinking it's "just another" feminine, fruity scent, but something about the "musky whipped cream" - what the brand calls it - just makes it so fun in a more grown-up way. I love it. It's been my late summer-going into fall staple. One spray and I get gentle wafts of thick strawberry vanillary custardy warmth all day, literally until I tuck myself in at night. Two or more sprays and people around me notice it. Love this! I will use up my travel size for sure.

The hate on this perfume is forced. It's beautiful, creamy, like a vanilla cake with strawberry frosting. Like the user before me, it is nostalgic in a grown up manner, and I couldn't agree more! Seems like a lot of people hate on things just for the sake of it. I don't get where people are getting vomit from, it's just throwing random words to show disdain FFS! I have had a tester and I loved it and received it as a Christmas present! Can't wait till Christmas day to try this one out and look out for longevity! But so far it cosy and nice, last long time! The reviews for this perfume crack me up. I seem to be in the minority here; I love it! It's the only perfume (so far) that I've decided to spend big bucks on and get the full size. I just love how sweet and happy it smells. The strawberry definitely fades fast, but it turns into this yummy creamy cotton candy on the skin that I just can't get enough of. I'm not sure where some people are getting "vomit" from... I guess that's just a testament to how different some perfumes are on people. Anyway, I recommend that you keep scrolling to read these reviews. Y'all are funny.

I got my sample today. I’m definitely going to get a full bottle. I was reading on here about people saying it’s nothing like Burberry Her. I agree. I didn’t like that one at all. It’s a strawberry scent I’ve been searching for. It has the same kind of scent as the other JHAG fragrances have, but definitely a sweet, strawberry and creamy fragrance. I’ve worn it now for 4 hours and still going strong. It’s not overpowering maybe arms length projection, I usually like beast mode scents though. Its definitely Husband approved. 😃

My sample just arrived today and oh my god, I love it. I used to religiously wear strawberry perfume and lotion as a kid, and this fragrance is like meeting a childhood friend for coffee after many years, all grown up. This is a sultry, classy gourmand. The strawberry feels real and bittersweet more than sweetshop sickly, the vanilla dries down to a gorgeous skin scent and there's a hint of something marine, salty or ozone creeping through (perhaps the fresh note). I hope to get my hands on a full size when it's released.

I don't understand the bad reviews. Is it a serious gourmand? No, but with all the seriousness in my life, I refuse to let my perfume be a part of that. To me it smells like strawberry milk. I don't really get the "milkshake" part of it, but there is definitely a lactic smell to it - the strawberry is sweet and it lasts FOREVER. JHAG is notorious for developing into a richer scent after some maceration and I'm certain it will be the same for this one. If you don't like it, okay - but the hate is insane to me. lol

Miami Shake has a plasticky opening but I kinda love it? Maybe it's because of the nostalgia it brings as it reminds me of when I would play with Barbie and Bratz dolls in my pink room growing up. It also smells like those strawberry scented lipglosses you would get for like $1 as a kid. You definitely have to have some kind of emotional attachment to enjoy this fragrance or else it will just fall flat. I will say though: it is quite long lasting on the skin if you're looking for a sweet fragrance that lasts.

This is a masterpiece in my opinion & the only JHAG that I actually like. I get a really sour & synthetic milky strawberry syrup, with something bitter & boozy like a liquorice or rum note, & a burst of white florals like orange blossom or jasmine, it's complex with many layers & it really takes you on a journey, so it's something you either love or hate. I shouldn't love it as much as I do, but I can't help but to be so drawn to it, this perfume is an anomaly & I'm afraid I love it.

First sniff and I was in LOVE!!! I find it to be a tiny bit similar to Powder Love by JHAG? That sort of chalky sweet smell feels present in both scents. Miami Shake is fun, girly, playful, and just the right amount of sweet. It's got a nostalgic scent to it but still feels mature. It's just too good, what's not to love? It immediately hits with one spray and lasts a pleasing amount of time. I got this in a discovery set but may just have to splurge on a full bottle!

Smells exactly like YSL lip gloss used to (I'm not sure which one), which was unexpected, but I adored the smell of the lip gloss so it was a pleasant surprise. It only started to smell like that once settled into my skin - in the opening, it smelled very much like a super-sweet strawberry ice cream. Though the opening was nice, I much prefer the sweet and powdery berries and makeup smell. Longevity is meh --> 2-3 hours. Silage is intimate once settled into the skin.

I bought the travel size after seeing so many mixed reviews and I'm ngl I really like it. I layer with the plur heavy cream or a vanilla oil and it works really well. For me it is definitely more of a summer scent, it feels beachy, playful, and young. The strawberry smell is for sure more artificial compared to Burberry Her Elixir, but I kinda like it. It's like getting a strawberry shortcake milkshake from Nifty Fifties lol. I will get a full size by next summer.

I really like this Perfume. I got many compliments from my coworkers. And it lasts really long! I wore it at 10 am and until now around 8 pm, i still can smell it. Although, I haven't reapplied it. I don't know whether people around me still can smell it or not, but i dont care, i wear it for myself. Don't understand, why ppl don't like this perfume. Yeah, people nose are different. In my nose, the scent is really nice and airy. I like it!!

i expected this to be plasticky and kinda bad but i honestly love it!! it's surprisingly complex and woody and honestly just really sexy but not in a way that makes it too much for daytime. i've had the travel size bottle for like a week and there's already a huge dent cause i'm wearing this thing daily. as a certified floral hater it's so nice to find a sweet summer scent that isn't too cloying OR floral

It's sweet and delicious smelling! It's a bit simple, which is great for it. I wore it to a fair, full of greasy and strong smelling foods, and every time I turned my shoulder I could smell the spritz of Miami Shake. I could still smell it once I got home, which was six hours later. It's not strong, but the sweetness is distinctly notable! Not an everyday for me, but definitely perfect for fun outings.

I really love this fragrance! I feel like it’s a soft gourmand, but with a more perfumey feeling to it, not edible. For me, when I think of gourmands, I think about mouthwatering photo realistic smells. This one is unique in its own sense. I think it really depends on how everyone experiences it on their own skin, but I think it has a really nice mature summery vibe. Justice for Miami Shake!!
