Wave of Freedom

I was lucky enough to experience the launch of Wave of Freedom with Andrea and Chiara yesterday, in great depth from smelling the raw ingredients to the finished scent which gave such a great depth to the entire scent as a whole. The opening is one of the most photorealistic, crisp yet juicy pears I have ever smelled in perfumery with a really clean, creamy coconut that isnt sweet in the typical sugared coconut way but has that really naturalistic raw coconut edge to it, yes it is smooth but has a glorious texture to it also. The pineapple adds further juiciness and clarity but again without being overly sweet. The base is not just 'amber' it's Amberever, created by Firmenich. It has such a sheer clarity and depth to it without being dense, deep and rich, making it such a wonderful base for this scent. Additionally the longevity is beyond explanation. For me, I think Fragrantica is a little off with the accords on this one because it is much fresher, clearer, verging on airy tropical than the 'cinnamon, warm spicy' that they have tied it to. This is very much a glorious endless summer scent rather than the more autumnal wintery vibe that would be suggested from what is listed here.

On my first spray it gave an airy, fresh juicy pear with a hint of tropical coconut. As it dried down the sweet pineapple became more dominant before transitioning in to an almost vanillic base of creamy tonka bean & amber. I can easily see how some people might not enjoy this fragrance, especially if you dislike the smell of Pina Coladas. For the record, its not a full on Pina Colada perfume, but it comes right up to that line. I am a big Jusbox fan, and already have a number of their fragrances, so when I first heard about the release I was very excited. As soon as the samples were available for purchase I ordered. They were delivered on the same day the Full bottle became available from Jusbox. I immediately sprayed it on skin, and within 30 minutes I was in love & ordered my bottle. It is already dominating my fragrance rotation, and has become a staple with Cheeky Smile, Carioca Heart & Feel N Chill. I think its a banger!

This does NOT smell at all like Erba Pura LMAO..... this is a very pretty scent perfect for the summer. It is actually a cross between Versace Eros and Carolina Herrera Good Girl. Definitely mass-appealing. I will be getting a full bottle.

Most realistic pear fragrance ever. And a gorgeous woody dry down. No notes, 10/10

This is my first Jusbox fragrance, so I didn't really know what to expect from the brand. Please bear with me! On first spray I get mostly pear and pineapple. The pear is juicy, crisp and bright, whilst the pineapple quickly starts to smell like fresh pineapple juice. If you don't enjoy that slightly bittersweet, tangy smell of pineapple juice, you wouldn't enjoy this opening! It pulls really pinapple-y on me. I don't get any cinnamon at all. The coconut is very faint, almost non existent (to my nose). It feels like coconut water more than creamy coconut. It has a clean, watery, sporty feel and really reminds me of men's shower gels, especially the 'energy' ones. Oddly specific, but I think you'll understand! Despite that, I do really like it? It's refreshing and would be perfect for hot summer weather, but I can't imagine wearing it outside of that season. As it develops, I start to notice the patchouli. It's slightly green, but not earthy, dirty or chocolatey. It just adds a little depth without taking over. The dry down becomes noticeably sweeter on my skin. The pear has faded slightly and it loses some of that fresh feeling. The pineapple is always there, by god! The amber gives the base a richer, deeper scent than your average freshie, and I do like how this lingers on. To me, this doesn't smell particularly niche, and I don't think it's worth the high price. I'm glad I only sampled, and probably wouldn't fork out for a full bottle. I'll have to try it on my boyfriend too, as I think it would suit him just as well! It's truly unisex and would smell different depending on skin chemistry and gender.

A surprisingly light and airy summer scent. I personally smell a fresh, juicy pear and coconut on a mildly sweet base of pineapple, cinnamon and amber. Easy summer reach. I can see this being another scent my hubby steals off me. To him this is masculine but to me it’s more feminine, so we’ll say it’s unisex. At the moment I don’t find it very strong, although I do get a nice, refreshing scent bubble around me. I can’t wait to wear this in the heat of summer to see how it performs. Im really enjoying this one. For me the vibe of this scent is fresh, happy and carefree with a glow of warmth from the sun. In the far dry down this becomes a gorgeous, relaxing, warm and creamy scent, but the pear note remains throughout. To clarify, due to the comment above... just because someone likes a perfume and has a positive opinion on it that doesn’t match yours, doesn’t mean they are compensated for reviews! I am not paid for reviews, I don’t get anything for free and buy everything at retail prices. I give my raw opinion good or bad based on what I think of a scent. Don’t be put off because someone else says they think it’s masculine. Review the scents they own for an idea of their taste and test it for yourself. I enjoyed Wave of Freedom from the moment I sprayed it, but was sold on the dry down and had to buy a full bottle! To me this is 100% unisex. I smell different things each time I spray it and I’m really enjoying it!

First blast is beautifully fresh and unique. The pear, pineapple and amber comes to the fore for me, then raw coconut brings in some creaminess. Hours in, the amber holds it all together, even if it is just close to the skin. I agree that this has cinnamon but not in a way which makes the whole scent spicy, just uplifts the other notes. It lasts on skin for several hours. I wouldn’t say it’s eternal - I get 4 hours or so from my sprays. I would love to experience this properly (I.e. past my small sample) - it’s a fresh, juicy and creamy fragrance which will be ideal for summer sunny days. It’s different to anything else I’ve smelled.

I kinda like it. I'm biased cuz it kinda reminds me of what my mom would wear, but I think it's clean, sweet, and nice. More than coconut, I get general sweetness (do get the pear tho). It's a niche take on a generic DNA, without being incredibly interesting. It's good, just not worth a full bottle. Wish it projected a bit more, but stays a skin scent for decently long. A bit feminine leaning maybe. Again, reminds a cat of their mom, so take what I say with a grain of salt ig.

After a fruity opening (pear, pineapple, sth tropical?!) mostly cinnamon and patchouli dominant. My nose doesn't catch coconut at all. The drydown almost gives an oud vibe (just an olfactory suggestion, no notes of it), a bit of tonka creaminess. Overall, reminds me of BDK Pas ce soir extrait a bit, but more woody and spicy. Too strong for hot weather, I'm gonna try it again in cooler conditions.

just smells like a pear mostly but that is good if you like pear. Good, but not really interesting enough.

A beautiful disaster. The opening is almost perfect: pear rendered in high definition, crisp skin, sparkling juice, translucent sweetness; fresh without turning citrusy, aquatic or clean-detergent. For 20 minutes it feels like the ideal modern summer pear: radiant, airy, creamy at the edges and genuinely original. Then (on me) the base swallows it whole. On my skin the pear curdles into sun-cooked fruit pulp fermenting in a closed car under July heat. The drydown becomes sour, dense, woody, oddly masculine, somewhat sharp and brutally persistent. Even after aggressive scrubbing a hot rotten-fruit amberwood stain remained for 12+ hours. I suspect the Amberever/amberwood-patchouli base trapped the fruit at its worst and made the collapse impossible to escape. Skin test is highly suggested before buying!!

Zero pear. What kind of synthetic crap is this? Ugh. Totally faceless, harsh and generic. For Erba Pura lovers only. It's just as awful.

Lovely pear opening., very bad drydown

This is a weird one. Not tropical and not really uplifting. Smells slightly boozy but the cinnamon is strong throughout. Smells better the more i sniff. This is so complex to my nose lol hours later I get the boozy patchouli used in 54. At times the coconut felt soft like vanilla powder but my nose might be nose broken lol just got it today. Will report back after it rests.

Awful. Smells like a generic cologne mixed with cleaning solution. Very harsh. I don’t see this as unisex, this reads traditionally masculine to my nose. It’s so heavy on aroma chemicals that it drowns everything out around it but I do get a lot of patchouli, some amber and a vague sweetness.

To all the ladies 🧚🏻 : I had anticipated this perfume very eagerly and based on the reviewers and the notes listed, it should have been a juicy gorgeousness with 🍐🥥🍍, cinnamon, tonka bean (= vanilla+almond+cinnamon), amber and patchouli. I first sprayed it on paper - a blast of pear 😃. But not a fruity pear - a synthetic alcohol pear - like the one in the Pear grappa. On my skin - this pear disappeared within seconds and a very dominant patchouli took over. And stayed. Until the end. No pineapple, no coconut, no cinnamon, no tonka bean - none of the juicy sweetness. Throughout the day I could smell only patchouli in a very sharp barbershop fougère way. Sadly for me a disappointment - and again a learning NOT TO LISTEN to the obviously in-PR-motivated "perfume reviewers" 🙈 Jusbox has some excellent fragrances - one of my signature scents is Carioca heart - a real masterpiece. To the gentlemen: it is a very masculine scent - and probably men would find it quite enjoyable.

Blind bought from Selfridges and it arrived this week. Standout sparkling pear opening with a creamy pineapple and coconut combo supported by a subtle cinnamon note and patchouli base. It’s winter here in Sydney but will be rocking this in the warmer months

Pear and tropical/coconut drinks were mixed with a floor cleaner. It is a little too harsh on the nose. Synthetic, annoying drydown... A sample is more than enough. This would be a nice Fabuloso version, they need to redirect their efforts.
