The musk also emerges at this stage, bringing with it a smooth, fresh laundry-like cleanliness, vaguely reminiscent of the type of musk I experienced with many of MFK's fragrances, while at the same time standing apart with some underlying skin-like warmth as well. Lastly, the oud completes the dry down with a foundation of dark, subtle woodiness. Not strong enough to overpower any of the other notes, but present enough to be noticeable from the background. Performance: Over the first hour, projection is clearly noticeable, reaching several feet and making its presence known without being overwhelming. Sillage follows closely behind, leaving an easy to detect trail as you move. For the next few hours, both projection and trail remain steady with very little drop off, maintaining that same confident presence. Around the seven to eight hour mark, projection softens to a more moderate radius and the scent trail becomes lighter, though still noticeable to those nearby. It finally settles close to the skin around the ten to eleven hour point, and taken as a whole, God of Fire shows itself to be a strong and long lasting performer. When to Wear: God of Fire feels tailor made for spring and summer, especially during the daytime. Short Version: This reminds me instantly of vacation. It's really refreshing, versatile, and mass appealing with really good performance. It's a 9/10 for me. Only gripes are that I wish it projected just a tad bit more, and it being around $200 for 50ml. Other than that it's incredible. Long Version: I debated getting this last summer, but decided to go with erba gold for a similar tropical feel for a better price per ml. I really enjoy erba gold, and it's gotten me a lot of compliments when I've worn it out. So I thought God of Fire would be redundant to own in my collection already having erba gold, but I was wrong. God of Fire is surprisingly fresh, way fresher than I remembered. It kind of smells like you're at a beach bar and a gust of fresh air blows towards you as someone is chopping up fresh fruits, predominantly mango. Whereas Erba Gold is much thicker, sweet & creamy type of mango. There's a slight freshness but definitely can be too much on a hot summer day. I usually just stick to wearing it for nights out in the summer. I usually don't like the note of mango actually. Blockade, No. 4 Neon, and Mango Skin are a few I didn't like much. God of Fire's mango is more synthetic but in the best way possible. I feel like for me I prefer the smell of a mango smoothie than an actual real mango, and that's more what I get from this. The opening is incredible, and the dry down is really nice too. It's pretty 2 dimensional where you get that incredible zesty opening for 15-30 mins then it turns into a primarily woody scent with the fruitiness subdued. It's pretty consistent during its runtime. I get really good staying power with this too, in the 8-10 hour range and much longer on clothes. The projection is more of an arms length distance, it's not going to get you smelled from far away unless you really overspray.

God of fire opens up in a very tropical juicy way and after about 5-10mins settles down into something more calm once the oud kicks in, which is tame.. not animalic, barnyardy or otherwise stinky, it just adds a little depth to the composition. The main note to mention during this phase in this fragrance is indeed the mango but don't think of this as a very sweet mango (kinda like how Cruz Del Sur II is a very sweet and smooth mango) its a bit more sour once the opening fades. Then this fragrance totally transitions again after an hour or two to something along the lines of Instant Crush (like that powdery touch)... yeah this fragrance goes on a rollercoaster ride unlike anything I've known... since Mortal Skin perhaps but I would argue this one transitions even more than that. Wow this fragrance and its stages blow my mind, each are very nice. I should also probably mention its hard to detect any tropical vibes in this stage. My review confusing? this fragrance is but in a good way.. very interesting. Give it a try, but over some hours in order to fully appreciate it. Edit: Now since I own a full bottle I can honestly say this takes my breath away, I've been trying out fragrances 3x or 4x the price of this fragrance lately and they haven't impressed me as much as this one has. The oud here is surprisingly mellow — woody and slightly sweet, adding depth without ever becoming animalic or overpowering. It stands out, in a non-intrusive way. As the scent develops, the dry down becomes noticeably woodier and a little more syrupy on my skin, especially in warmer weather. This isn’t an airy, feather-light fragrance, but it’s not thick or heavy either. There’s a certain density to it — especially from the mango — but it feels smooth and effortless, like something you could cut through with ease. Overall, this smells like an expensive tropical escape in a bottle — luxurious, exotic.
