Silver Breath

I love it when a perfumer can create a sense of freshness without having to rely upon citrus accords - especially when it comes to longevity. Using bitter yet refreshingly green opening notes of galbanum, artemisia(wormwood) and cardamom provides a wonderful almost mentholic blast. I have really come to enjoy cardamom and its ability to freshen a fragrance. The guaiac wood in the heart is quite soft, providing a subtly sweet and balsamic nuance - while the nutmeg seems to take centre stage. This nutmeg mixing with the cardamom absolutely sings off skin! The aforementioned mentholic vibe I pick up in the top may be partly attributed to the cedarwood in the base, as it does seem to linger deep into the dry-down. And although mentioned in heart notes, I find a chocolatey accord that I can only attribute to the patchouli sneakily lurking close to skin. The owner of the brand had asked me to close my eyes and try to picture a location that this fragrance evokes, and on first sniff due to the freshness I thought of a cooling breeze hitting my skin while under the shade of a tree on the waters edge (perhaps influenced by the photography?). The more I have smelt it however - it could just as easily be in a meadow or close to a thicket of trees... Anywhere the breeze can be cooled before reaching your skin. This is an incredibly versatile scent profile, with great longevity and projection - I could easily see it being added to my collection 🤩
