Bois de Vetiver

I bought this perfume at the beginning of its production in 2017, and I still own the same bottle. The perfume opens with wonderful citruses of orange and grapefruit, refreshing and light, and its heart sparkles with vetiver, with splashes of beautiful rose and a touch of mint, and the conclusion is with a creamy scent. The combination of citrus, rose, vetiver and mint is not found in any other fragrance, and also base notes here I can't distinguish anything from them, but I smell all of them only creamy. The components of the perfume are few and simple, like the case of modern perfumes. The vetiver does not overpower the rest of the ingredients, and it is not dark or earthy, but rather a bright and clean vetiver. The perfume is generally well mixed and balanced. Our beautiful and captivating perfume has its own special and distinctive character, its smell is pure and not synthetic or chemical, soft, gentle, comfortable, calming mood, completely safe, very smooth, easy to wear. It can be worn by all ages, especially after 25 years, it is a great choice as a gift for anyone. The scent is for spring and summer, in daylight hours, with casual clothes, the best place for it is the office, and also as a daily perfume.Can make it a signature scent . The perfume stays on the skin for more than seven hours, but it remains close to the skin, it sillage and projection weak, so it is a good choice for doctors or teachers, and similar professions.

I am wearing this right now. It has got a really soft sexy sensual scent - not unlike this arousing scent you smell just before having an intimate relation - an intimate scent. I just love this one. Well done Mr. Christophe Raynaud. There are some chords of `Y` from Yves Saint Laurent for women somewhere in there... Maybe it is the fine touch of patchouli. The only negative thing I can say is that I believe that the longevity and projection is not long. I hope that this scent will be around forever and that KL will make a Bois Vètiver Eau de Parfume pour Homme that lasts longer than the Eau de Toilette. Update - bought another 100ml bottle KLBDV - just to be sure i will not run out. Update nr. 2 I have just bought Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir for Him (NRBN) and to me it is very much like KLBDV though NRBN is more potent and smokey. I love`em both.

It's amazing how time and experience can change your taste in scent. When I initially bought this after watching a few reviews and it finally arrived at the local Australian discounters, I honestly thought it was a generic, nice, somewhat sweet and clean fresh smell, but it was nothing special. I was ready to sell it and even listed it on ebay, but nobody purchased it, so it sit in my wardrobe for about 1.5+ years. Recently I dug it out of my wardrobe and tried it on again and I decided I like it a lot. I don't know if my nose is getting better (or less picky), or if letting it sit in my wardrobe for a long time changes its chemistry, but this definitely smells better than what I remember. It is a great choice for warm day and 100% office friendly. Weak longevity though, so I have to overspray.

This is a great inexpensive find for the summer. It opens with a lot of citrus and dries to a clean vetiver base. Overall it holds to my skin well with 5 hours of performance and will even project freshness for a good 3-5 hours. This is not an earthy vetiver, so it is safe for most environments and won't be too challenging for those around. My one issue would be that it leans to the feminine side, but this could be a result of my wife's aromatherapy scents that carry a similar vetiver profile. In short this is not a manly man form of vetiver, but a great summer fresh take that I would reach for in favour of aquatic scents. This is not something you will smell on many people, so you will hold some individuality when you wear it. At the price you really can't go wrong.

I never believed there could be a Karl Lagerfeld this good. Its cheap and quality, and what more could you really want? You will get a huge blast of citruses after application. Juicy and almost edible smelling, total shocker with the price point. Of course you are going to smell good and fresh from the vetiver being in every stage of this fragrance. The base is a nice fresh rose mixed with some musk and you guessed it more veitver. The rose comes across as masculine. This could smell a bit mature to some, but I think anyone over 25 should have no issue pulling it off. Longevity is great, around 6-8 hours. For a freshy, that ain't bad!! It has very soft projection though. The first hour will get you showered in compliments, then its a skin scent. I love it!

Sheesh this is a stunning scent for its price! When I first sprayed it on it reminded me of the likes of Guerlain Homme except rose prominent instead of lime/mint. In the top the vetiver is definitely well present. I wasn’t too sure about it at that point as my own personal taste is that I don’t mind vetiver but only if it’s not too overbearing and doesn’t steal from other aspects of the scent. Fairly quickly however it dried down into a nice musky rose but there’s enough of the vetiver undercurrent to still comfortably lean it masculine. Really impressed. A scent that’s versatile enough to be worn on any occasion and any time of day or evening. That alone makes it great value, but the fact that it smells great too really makes excellent value!

This smells absolutely great. The grapefruit, vetiver, rose thing is very attractive. Perfect for summer. Can't offend anybody. However, the performance is puzzling to me, and ultimately not so good. I had put my first spray in my elbow, and it seemed to project well from there for several hours. Even after I took a shower later, I could still smell it clearly. But when I put it on more "properly", on my chest, several on my neck, on my elbows again, it seemed to quickly go away. I renewed it several times, because I couldn't seem to detect it, and still nobody else seemed to notice it at all. However, when I woke up the next morning, the scent was very clearly there again. Do I not sweat enough during the day? I'm not sure what the deal is.

This is my dumb reach for hot, humid summer days. It stands out from all the in-your-face mainstream lemon/lime scents. It is fresh, yet sophisticated, VERY easy to wear and more unique than your typical citrus fragrance. The performance is very good, not just for a freshie, but in general. I easily get 8 hours with this fragrance. These 8 hours are me being able to smell whiffs of it myself. So probably people around me can smell me even longer than this. (Back-up) bottle and blind-buy worthy. WOW! I have a lot of fragrances and this is my absolute favorite at the moment. Forget the technical details. The only thing that matters is when you put this on you feel cool, confident, and attractive. You can comfortably blind buy this. It's a gorgeous scent that projects elegance and sophistication. The only thing stopping me from wearing this every day right now is that it's more suited to spring and I have other better options for winter. In fact, I think there are better options for summer as well but with that said, it's so gorgeous, if you test it I doubt you'll be able to hold back from purchasing it. And why should you? The price is an absolute bargain. This is a must buy for spring - every spring.

Outstanding fragrance. Not the dark vetiver like Encre Noir, nor the greener vetiver of Guerlain or Tom Ford. This is bright, citrusy with a touch of sweetness, but not sugary sweet or overpowering. I'm not sure about the Terre d'Hermes comparisons, because to me this isn't an earthy "dirty" citrus, nor is it too musky. Very unique IMHO. A safe, affordable and worthy blind buy, especially at it's current price point! Perfect for spring, summer and warmer fall days. Big thumbs up! Edit: I can now see some of the reason for the Terre d’Hermes comparisons. In the dry-down the vetiver becomes more prominent, but still on the sweeter side, not dark.

The rose in the drydown reminds me of L'Homme Ultime by YSL. The scent smells really pleasant from opening to drydown. It is really fresh, citrusy, and a bit spicy. It's a shame that the performance is not that good, especially when the scent is that awesome. It is a safe, versatile fragrance, although more suitable for day use. It stands out from many of those citrus-based or vetiver scents out there (especially for the price). This is not what I expected. I expected a lot more Vetiver, up front and throughout the dry down, for a fragrance boasting of Vetiver? Still, I think this is wonderfully blended. The citrus opening is bright and pleasant. It does fade fast, very quickly into a skin scent. I sprayed it on my shirt and it was still faint. However, after concentrating I did notice both the Rose and the Vetiver, and they have been combined beautifully. Karl Lagerfeld is really onto something here, they just need to somehow amp up both the projecting and the longevity. I still suggest this as a purchase, the price makes this an okay buy.

I think you don't need to buy it. Just don't. Leave it to losers like me, so I can continue buying this gorgeous, light, youthful and vibing Perfume for €40/100 ml. High demand would ride the price, so nononono, this is absolutely boring, feminine, clone whatever. It's close to Versace Dreamer, but with more soury note. However, it's amazingly pleasant and undervalued (thanks for haters!) fragrance of Lagerfeld. I tried all the Bois collection and this is the best representative of it. Bois de Cedre is second, Yuzu and Ambre - huge NO.

Fanfreakingtastic. This one is really unique, I loved it instantly and still do after a few weeks. It is very nice from opening to close, and is nice to just smell on your skin or clothes from time to time, that type that you enjoy for yourself maybe more than caring about a compliment. I'm not always great at picking out specific notes blindly, but can say that that a few notes listed I can actually pick up on.. Grapefruit, vetiver, hint of rose.. Really well blended and balanced, very good quality fragrance here. Fresh, crisp.

@ffunch. That is clearly olfactory fatigue. This is very common with fruity fragrances. Same happens to me with this fragrance, Creed Aventus, Mercedes Benz Cologne, Guerlain L'Homme L'Eau Boisée, Guerlain L'Homme and Dunhill Icon. I cannot smell them anymore after roughly an hour, even though these fragrances are known to have quite a good performance. If you want to check the real performance, just spray it on your wrist and smell it once an hour. You will notice that it is still there after many hours.

This is a cheaper alternative to Terre D'Hermes Eau tres Fraiche. Very Similar orangy opening and woodsy backbone but with reduced spices and added sweet ambroxan base. Boise de vetiver is fresher and more mass appealing but it has less performance. Moreover, it has a lovely note in the heart that reminds me slightly of YSL lhomme Ultime, problably the rose/ambroxan combination. For the price it is an excellent choice but Go for TDH Fraiche if you found it discounted with a good deal (50 USD/125 ml)

Nose Note #660 Wonderful, easy to wear modern citrus fougere. Don't expect it to be close to Declaration, it's not a clone by any means. It's mildly sweet and has no spices - so how is it supposed to be close to Declaration? Blood orange is not bitter like in Dior Homme 2020 or Dior Homme Sport (some editions). Vetiver is not a dominant note here, it serves as a blender almost. Just a wonderful and very easy to like, easy to wear kind of generic, but done masterfully mens fragrance. 8/10, easy 8

In my collection, which includes many niche bottles that are much more expensive, this has become THE choice, if I'm not aiming for anything special or provocative. I.e. if I just need to smell good, or I'm going away for a couple of days, this is what I put in the suitcase. I at first thought I had a problem with its performance, but I no longer know why. It lasts most of the day, and/or can easily be topped off. Very safe to wear in any setting. Always works. I never get tired of it.

Just smell this on the store last week. Quite a nice scent and with a reasonable price it think i would be a great cheapy. Update 18/03/18 Test again on the store...this time I sprayed on my hand...till next morning it still noticeable...definitely 10hr+ performance. Will buy it soon Update 04/18 Finally bought this frag couple weeks ago. No complain what so ever. Fresh, quite unique, office appropriate, good performance, reasonable price. Blind buy worthy.

This one is a fantastic freshie. Even though it has vetiver in the name, it really isn't a vetiver-heavy scent. The most prominent note for me in this one is the blood orange. Amazing effervescence throughout the life of the fragrance but especially in the opening. The best part is that I only paid $15 for a 50ml. Since it was a blind buy I didn't go for the 100ml but starting to wish I did as you can get a 100ml tester for about $20. Great cheapie! 8.5/10
