Maldives in a Bottle Ylang Coco | 20 Eau de Parfum

Beautiful, Fresh, sweet, bright, happy, beachy, floral, tropical, fruity, citrusy, clean, aromatic, refreshing, creamy, cheerful, uplifting, aquatic, fresh spicy, feminine, unique On me this opens bright, sweet, fresh, and aromatic with the fresh spiciness of rosemary, and bright and citrusy lemon. As it starts drying down I get the tropical, creamy, and sweet ylang-ylang and banana with the lingering rosemary and lemon which give it a slightly aquatic feel. Farther into the dry down it becomes creamier with the sweet and tropical coconut milk becoming prominent along with the ylang-ylang. The rosemary and lemon linger gently throughout keeping it fresh and light too. I bought 2 of the Vacay in a Bottle sets whenever it launched, and I immediately loved it! My 2 favorites from the set are Maldives and Maui, which makes sense considering I’m a big fan of coconut fragrances. I’m also a big Kayali fan in general. I have 16 of their fragrances, and my top 3 are Yum Boujee Marshmallow, The Wedding Silk Santal, and Vanilla 28. For a little more reference, some of my favorite beachy/coconut fragrances include Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, and JHAG Vanilla Vibes. I also have Kayali Utopia Vanilla Coco and love it. I consider it to be a unique beachy/coconut like I do with Maldives because I think it’s one of the fragrances in this category that can work well year round because of its depth and warmth. Maldives feels feminine to me, and would work on women of any age. I think it’s best suited for the warmer weather of spring and summer because of how fresh and beachy it is. I was nervous about the rosemary note in this, but that’s what makes it so unique. It gives it that interesting freshness that comes off almost aquatic paired with the lemon. It might not be the safest blind buy, but I’m very happy that I took the chance buying the set. However, I already really enjoyed Kayali fragrances as well as coconut, so I think that made it safer for me. I get excellent performance with Maldives in a Bottle, as I do with all of the Kayali fragrances I own. The longevity is great, on me it lasts throughout the day. The projection is good, it radiates out at least a couple feet from me.

The heart blooms with sweet banana blossom and tropical starfruit. The dry down really shines as it intertwines exotic ylang ylang and tropical, sweet, and creamy coconut milk. This even has a slightly aquatic vibe to it. I’m a huge Kayali fan, and currently own 20 different fragrances of theirs. Maldives in a Bottle is tied for my 2nd favorite along with Capri of the Vacay in a Bottle collection. My favorite of the set is Maui. My top 5 Kayali faves are Yum Boujee Marshmallow, Vanilla 28, Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar, The Wedding Silk Santal, and Yum Pistachio Gelato. This feels feminine to me, and suitable for women of any age. This feels like it works best during the spring and summer because of its refreshing beachy vibe. This feels most fitting for casual occasions, work/school, and beach vacations. I get good performance with Maldives in a Bottle. The longevity is about 6-8 hours on my skin. The projection is moderate as it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. I've just returned from two weeks in the Maldives. I wore this perfume every night, and I can confirm it actually does smell of the Maldives, and it's delicious. Every evening we would walk in the evening heat along the path to dinner, surrounded on all sides and with a canopy above of lush tropical vegetation; Bougainvillea, frangipani, jasmine, orchids. I would stop in my tracks as a cloud of jasmine or frangipani suddenly enveloped us, to search for the nearby bush and just be still to breathe those divine scents in for a moment. This scent really does evoke those heady tropical fragrances. I've been looking for a banana fragrance that ticks my boxes recently and the banana blossom note in this is lovely, it's not pudding or foam sweets banana, but it's a delicious sweet, floral, airy banana. My nose isn't easily parsing out the individual notes, but the blended effect is of tropical flowers, (jasmine isn't listed but I smell it) sweetness from the fruit, slightly herbaceous but not bitter notes grounding it, and the coconut is one that provides a creaminess that doesn't smother the sweet fruit and floral notes, instead it just rounds things out. Bad coconut notes have so often ruined a fragrance for me, why do they never smell as delicious as coconut oil or cream? Not so here, this is coconut done beautifully. In the high humidity the perfume struggled to make a little scent cloud for me, although I got wafts every now and then. It lasted, but stayed close to the skin. I'm interested to see how it performs now we're home. And I'll be buying a larger bottle soon, because it's a hit for me. Kayali fragrances are polarising to me, some I like, some I really don't. I was so disappointed with Maui Sweet Banana - not at all the banana I wanted, and I found the overall blend nauseating. I love this. It really is Maldives in a bottle.

Fresh, beachy, sweet, tropical, bright, aquatic, and refreshing. This opens fresh, bright, and aquatic with juicy lemon and a green aromatic rosemary. It’s a unique and refreshing scent. The tropical florals of banana blossom and ylang ylang with the coconut milk are transportive with their fresh, sweet, creamy, bright, and beachy vibes. The subtly aromatic aquatic scent lingers throughout and pairs nicely with the prominent coconut milk and ylang ylang that gives a sweet, creamy, and floral tropical island vibe. I’m a huge lover of beachy/coconut fragrances, so I have a bunch of them (can you ever have too many? Nope, that new one sounds great!). I do think that this is a rather interesting and unique take on a popular scent profile. It’s still got that tropical beachy scent, and it’s also rather aquatic, but then it has that refreshing, green aromatic scent of the rosemary. I’m definitely impressed (actually with all 4 of them!) because I’ve become a big fan of Kayali fragrances and I just knew they would do something a little special/different/unique with these! I get good performance with Maldives in a Bottle. The longevity is nice, it lasts throughout the day on me. The projection is decent too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me.

The opening has a mild spicy kick from the rosemary. It is herbal and refreshing but still sweet. I would not categorize it as green. It reminds me a little of Le Vie Belle Soleil Cristal. The mid and base is creamy and tropical but not out of place in colder weather. I could wear this almost year round. The only exception is the extreme cold. There is a banana note but it is not very prevalent. Like most Kayali fragrances the performance starts out weak, but as it macerates is improves significantly. After five months this lasts 6-8 hours on skin and the coco and ylang-ylang notes linger on my clothes the next day. The silage after it macerates is beautiful. While out at a restaurant a hostess and waitress came to our table and had to know what this perfume was. They said they followed the scent trail I left behind. (For context this is the first time this has happened to me, and I usually think people are lying when telling stories like this.) This was such a strong love for me that I purchased a backup bottle. This needs to come out in a full size. 9/10.

Gosh, this is stunning. It’s exactly what I’ve been craving in this sticky UK heat. Refreshing and indulgent in the dreamiest way, without ever tipping into that too-heavy, cloying territory. It opens with this cool, watery rosemary and just a whisper of lemon, then melts into soft ylang-ylang, the gentlest banana, and creamy coconut milk. Not too sweet, not too beachy, just perfection. Honestly, I wanted to hate this. I thought it might be too much, but I’m completely addicted. It’s hands-down my favourite from the discovery set. I’m already planning to take a full bottle with me to Greece this September. I imagine myself wearing this lounging in a crisp white bikini, sipping something delicious straight from a coconut while surrounded by lush foliage. Light, refreshing, and effortlessly luxurious. An absolute dream. Edit: I will say, that dry-down is very spicy. Someone said it smelled like a man carrying a load of spices through a market and I agree. I'm conflicted now, as the opening is breathtaking but that rosemary dry down is INTENSE.

Less predictably tropical than Maui in a Bottle and more interesting than any average summertime coconut/vanilla based fragrance. Far from being a masterpiece and super mass appealing, for me Maldives is built on the contrast between a salty, aromatic, green side and a sweet, coconuty, yellow tropical one. As a scent, I actually prefer Maui in a Bottle but I like this one because it’s more unique. It’s unusual but not in an unwearable way, it’s super cool and pretty smelling. I don’t know if I would repurchase any of these two, but I would definitely enjoy wearing them as long as these bottles last, for this summer. Maldives in a Bottle is different if you’re talking scent, but falls in the same mediocre category when it comes to performance! I wish Kayali would increase their oils concentration to make their perfumes stronger and more projecting, even if they would be more expensive...

I like this more today than I did on the day that I purchased it. I don't know if my nose is catching up to what a beautiful fragrance this is or if the fragrance is developing. I went into this skeptical since I don't like strong white or yellow florals, but both, along with accompanying notes, are done at just the right amount. No note outshines the other, while still maintaining their individuality. While my nose doesn't explicitly pick up the lemon or banana notes, I think they add a brightness and sweetness, respectively, that serve the overall scent well. The drydown is especially lovely. This is very much a beach/pool/luxury summer resort scent and is one of the best ones that I've smelled. I like this more than Maui and Capri from the Kayali vacation line. Update: Currently spending a weekend in New Orleans. It's hot and muggy here. Wearing Maldives. I smell f'ing amazing!

Ooooohhhhhhhh this is niiiice. I'm still getting whiffs of it on my hoody from over 24 hours ago, which is wild for Kayali. Usually Kayali fragrances do not last, but this one is AWESOME. This scent is the standout from this collection and I'm getting a full bottle asap. I never thought I'd like a fragrance with rosemary but in here it just adds this addictive freshness. I dont really get banana, it seems to just be a supporting note adding sweetness. I didn't think I'd buy another Kayali perfume after the great yum boogie marshmallow deception of 2025. I seriously loved that scent so much but it was GONE after an hour. The BETRAYAL I felt cannot be overstated. While I try to find a clone of ybm that lasts on my skin, I'll be picking up a bottle of this because I've truly not smelled anything like this. Absolutely worth at least trying!

The rosemary is in the opening and threw me off a bit because of the harshness, but it dries down quickly and adds complexity to a surprisingly interesting Kayali perfume. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kayali exactly for being elevated Bath& Body Works scents full of candied, creamy, sugary, berry , coconutty, vanilla marshmallow notes, but it’s also nice to smell à scent that stays with that tradition but adds interesting notes you wouldn’t expect. I don’t like the opening ( it lasted like a minute), but the rosemary note works really well once it starts to immediately dry down. I wasn’t sure if I would like the banana note because Maui and Maldives were my first perfumes with that note, but it works well on me and smells like summertime! Definitely will be wearing this all summer!

How are some people bored with this scent? I don't even get any soapiness from this. It's also definitely so not basic. Thankfully to my cute nose and body chemistry this smells beautiful and expensive + lasts long as well! If I wanted to take a break from my gourmands, I would reach for this immediately. Maldives in a Bottle on my first initial spritz took me back to Athens airport (instead). Something about walking in the departure's Duty Free perfume section with all those nice scents lingering in the air along side the boutiques selling Greek spices—that's how this smells like to me. It is fresh and aquatic, yet sweet with a tad bit of spice into it. I did not expected this to be my most favorite from the Kayali Vacay set! Mona should give us a bigger bottle to enjoy!

This is actually my favourite fragrance from the entire Kayali line. It’s a very unique profile and I haven’t found anything else similar to it. It’s so fresh and light and creamy, but not a typical tropical fragrance. The ylang ylang is beautifuly creamy and the rosemary isn’t prominent or herbal at all, just fresh. It’s sweet but not sickly. I wear this a lot and like to pair it with Dedcool mineral milk. I find that it doesn’t last well on skin but has great staying power on clothes. This doesn’t have a sunscreen scent at all, just creamy fresh banana and coconut, no strong lemon at all. Everything is balanced well. Will definitely get a full size. 🥰 Oh, there is also an interesting star fruit note which isn’t in the list above for some reason.

A nice aquatic aromatic gourmand. Amazing for vacation. I smelt it in store and looooved it so much so I went back for it the very next day. It also helps that I am a big fan of plain rosemary it smells so invigorating and refreshingly tasty, so putting it as a top note on this elevated it for me. I do get that green banana note but only briefly and distantly and the coconut isn't nauseating for me which is something I tend to struggle with when it comes to coconut. It was love at first sniff for me it's a fresh tropical aquatic gourmand to my nose and I was wearing it on vacation - yum yum yum!! It doesn't last very long though but I can excuse that for the way I love this DNA. I hope one day I'll find an alternative for the longevity.

I have deleted and re-wrote this twice now because I’m so conflicted. I absolutely LOVE this but holy crap the smell just disappears almost immediately after spraying. Eve more sad....i have sparkling litchi, vanilla rock candy, yum boujee marshmallow and this and had a Kayali sampler set and they ALL perfume like a poor body mist. I don’t understand, is it to get people to buy more and more of it or is it just a coincidence they all are like that ? I’m glad I found a way to purchase them for MUCh less then Sephora or other high end avenues of purchasing. I will continue to buy them because I love so many of them but I absolutely will continue to use the inexpensive way I found to purchase them lol

Maldives is tied for second place with Maui, and Lemon Sugar barely being number 1 for me. How can I rank these 3 gems? Absolutely love Capri, Maui, and Maldives!! Did not like Marrakesh at all unfortunately. I expected ylang coco to smell more herbal, aquatic, and fresh based on what others were describing, so I was a little worried, as that wasn't my type of scent I go for. However, to my nose this smells like a fruity blend of coconut and the ylang florals with a bit of aquatic vibes. I swear I really smell the lemon and starfruit in this. It's so unique and lovely! Please release Maldives in a larger bottle sold separately Mona! This is such a complex and enjoyable summer fragrance.

I honestly think most of these reviews are total horse crap. Maldives in a bottle is absolutely intoxicating, and does not smell “cheap.”I strongly have to disagree with most of you. I sprayed it in before bed last night cause I I love being wrapped up in this simple, beautiful scent. And it rad still all over me after the gym the next day. Stop being such a snob. It’s good. Definitely the best out of the collection. People’s judgment and harsh criticism of fragrance is almost laughable to me. ITS A KAYALI. A Sephora fragrance. This isn’t Bodacia the Victorious. Adjust your expectations. For real people. Geeez. It’s a cute perfume, get over it.

Every year I buy myself two large bottles of perfume for Christmas. And this was one of the two this year. My partner and I smelled the testers, the tester set of the Vacay in a bottle and this was both of our favorites. One year utopia was my Christmas buy. And then every year since it has been sold out, and I used the whole thing. This gives me utopia vibes, but also with an aquatic note with maybe like a tea type of note. But still utopia underneath which I absolutely love. I’m excited to wear this. Out of all of the perfumes that I’ve made him smell. This is the one where he was like “oh wow. I love this.” so of course that was a must buy.

OK so... this is a love for me. Maybe the best Kayali scent? And, okay, everyone knows Kayali scents are not long lasting but.... this is body spray levels of being burnt off my body. Maybe not as short lived as Vanilla 28 but short. But, it's good enough that I could just buy a full size and spray it hourly. It makes me mad that I keep trying to go to other brands for longer lasting scents but keep finding time after time Kayali is delivering on exactly the smells I dream of so I will keep giving them my money and repurchasing because I have to reapply constantly.

I love this one! I expected to love all of them as much as I do this one, but unfortunately the others ended up being a bit dissapointing. But this one has the perfect balance of sweet and fresh and the rosemary adds a unique twist. It really transports you to a beach, this is the only one out of the four that really remind me of vacation. My only complaint would be that it doesn't last very long, but this is the case with all of them. I normally wouldn't mind reapplying, but these are such tiny bottles. I need a full size of this or at least a good dupe!

WOW! I absolutely love this one! Plz make a 100ml for me, Mona! haha - seriously, though this is a beautiful refreshing, slightly sweet, herbal, creamy, dream boat! I get the coconut, rosemary and ylang-ylang notes most prominently. It definitely projects more than the other vacation scents for me and I get better longevity with it as well! I love to wear this during the day time in the spring and I think it's going to be a beautiful summer scent as well! I get about 5 hours on skin with a moderate projection.

I did not expect this to be my favorite of the four in the collection. Based on notes I expected Maui>Capri>Maldives>Marrakesh, what it actually ended up being is Maldives>Maui>Marrakesh>Capri. It's a lovely aquatic scent. Out of the four it seems like it's the most well blended, Rosemary softens up the sweetness of the coconut and ylang ylang so nicely. On the Kayali website it states banana flower instead of banana fruit. I can picture myself on a white beach with clear blue skies and a light breeze.

ooooooooh this summery but in a very modern, aquatic way. the rosemary (which smells almost minty to me) makes it a standout to me. it's giving magical mermaid but with a slightly fresh spicy twist. milky, coconut cream. bought the travel size, but might have to switch to a bigger bottle. i'm pretty fond of the whole summer set, shame it's all to intimate for my liking. the longevity is the best of the 'vacay in a bottle' set, i usually re-aply after an hour or 4-5.

For your information, the set has been purchased with my own money and none of my Kayali reviews have ever been an ad. I really can’t choose between this or Maui being my favourite- right now I’d say this is my second fav. I love aromatic fragrances and the rosemary here isn't too overpowering and blended with coconut is just heavenly. That sneaky banana note is also detectable with beautiful ylang-ylang. It's tropical, fresh, fun yet sophisticated at the same time- perfect for everyday use during summer!

I wish this was in full size! Very fresh. I agree with the commenter below there is a slight fizziness to it which sets it apart from usual tropical scents. For me, the rosemary and banana are the most prominent notes. Really lovely. I don't think it projects terribly well though. Fingers crossed they will release a full size bottle so I can be a bit more generous with spritzing!

This fragrance is just beautiful. I was scared of the rosemary, however it complements the lemon beautifully. The lemon note in the opening is the most beautiful lemon I ever smelled. It's like smelling the skin of a perfectly yellow lemon warmed by the sun. Then the ylang ylang and the coconut milk come out and the fragrance becomes creamy and sweet. It's an amazing fragrance.

Just had a bath and I've got a 10ml bottle. Made it a thing to get 'empty bottles' this year. So reached for this. OMG forgot how nice this is. I've recently been thinking that Kayali is over hyped.... But this... It's got better since I got it. Can't believe I've left it sitting there. Sweet ylang ylang. What more could you want? May purchase a big bottle after I empty a few.

Maldives in a Bottle Ylang Coco | 20 immediately transports me to the beach! The opening is very fresh and I’m really liking the blend of juicy Lemon and aromatic Rosemary. Soon after, you get the notes of tropical Banana Blossom and sweet Ylang-Ylang mixed with the base note of Coconut Milk. This is exactly what I picture big island holiday to smell like!

The best one in the collection, IMO. A fresh, watery coconut scent as opposed to anything creamy. Would be nice to spritz on a really hot, humid summer day. I like how the herbs keep it grounded and from becoming too cloying. This is more “coconut fizz” than “soleil blanc”. A refreshing, cooling coconut water type of fragrance. FB worthy for the summer.

My absolute number 1 and I would buy a full size bottle if I could. It's fresh, it's sweet, it's aquatic, it's fun. The color of the bottle really reflects the vibe of the scent. When comparing it to Maui in the bottle, it's much lighter and surprisingly enough I feel like Maui has the ylang note in it, not Maladives. Wish it lasted longer!

I adore this perfume. It was my vacation scent, and every time I wear it, it brings back those memories. Unfortunately, I found myself having to reapply it throughout the day. Its weak longevity and intimate sillage don't quite justify the premium price point. While I love the fragrance itself, I expected better performance for the cost.

This feels like a unique tropical scent in a category that feels really overdone by now. I usually don’t like rosemary, but there’s just a hint of it that lends a green freshness and elevates the whole scent. Probably my second favorite of the set, with Maui Sweet Banana being the first (don’t worry, they’re quite different!)

This is hands down the best in the collection. It’s beautiful. If summer and money made a scent this would be it. The ylang ylang and coconut are soft. It truly smells like an expensive summer holiday on a yacht 🛥️. For summer evening I layer with Tom Ford Soleil Blanc and it’s out of this world. A total compliment magnet.

this is my favorite of the entire collection. i don’t think any are worth having a full size but they are nice. it’s a fresh, green, almost aquatic take on coconut. this isn’t sunscreeny at all. i don’t really have anything like this in my collection. this could be a coconut flanker of the armani aqua/ocean di gioia 🥥🌴🌊

I decided to buy this along with Maui in a bottle. It was definitely a blind buy but I love it! Surprisingly I like it more than Maui in a bottle. It is sweet but the rosemary balances it out so you don’t need an insulin shot like boujee strawberry marshmallow. I highly recommend for everyday/night wear in summer.

Tropical green and fresh. Maldives does suit this scent name. It smells to me like a more wearble Mugler aura. Not sharp and more rounded and demure. I actually like this scent, second favorite from the line. Dry down is less impressive and not remarkable. Marrakech is still my favorite.

I blind bought this at full Sephora price and I’m just kinda not in love with it, I do like it a lot but I was expecting to like it more. It is almost unisex, very fresh and tropical. I’m hoping the more I wear it I’ll start to like it more, but sadly it’s just kinda meh for now

I neeeed this in a full size. It’s a fresh and zesty, almost fizzy, coconut with the rosemary giving it a bit of depth. This feels like a more intense and less watery version of coconut fizz, but with the same sort of freshness. This one and Maui in a bottle are my favorites

My favorite from the Vacay collection, and the one I got in a 50 ml bottle. This is a very unique summer fragrance. It’s aromatic, oceanic, and coconutty without smelling like sunscreen. It is definitely evocative of upscale tropical destinations like the Maldives.

This is so creamy and sweet. I can definitely see why its not everyones favourite, it is a little bit soapy and young, but personally I love it, its fun its playful and reminds me of being on holiday, so id say the idea was executed perfectly 𐙚

I just spent a week in the Maldives and brought several fragrances with me, and this one was the one I was reaching for the most. Just beautiful and captures the spirit of Maldives perfectly. The small bottle is so convenient to travel with.

I did not expect this one to be my favorite from the set! Sweet, stronger banana than Maui, bright and warm. This is 100% a buy if they ever come out with full size bottles, or even if they sell each separately. I will need another bottle.

Instant fave! I was genuinely scared when they first launched these and announced that they would be limited edition. I really pray they never discontinue this line. This and Maui in a Bottle are easily some of my favorites from Kayali.

This one is my favorite in the "Vacay in a bottle"-set. I've been looking for the perfect coconut scent in the more aromatic/fresher coconut water direction and this is it. Still a bit sweet but fresh and uplifting. I love it!

At first spray I was like, nope, not my vibe but as it dried down I was addicted. A very easy, pleasant, almost clean and yet sassy smell. I wish it would have longer longevity. Will definitely get the bigger bottle.

This smells exactly like Michael Kors for women. So good! The banana + ylang ylang note in this mimics that fleshy sweet banana like Tuberose in Michael kors. A really close dupe MK is more deeper and richer tho.

This is very like the 7 virtues coconut sun. Fresh aquatic with a coconut woody smell. This lasts really well, it’s quite soft but I do keep getting that bright coconut smell, it’s amazing! . we need the 100ml!!

I absolutely love this. It smells so fresh like a clean light sanded beach. The atomizer really squirts instead of sprays tho which some might not like but I love how it’s so juicy.

Fresh & tropical. I get a green cucumber note that I like. The name is a bit misleading since I don’t get so much coconut. It's refreshing and I Will really enjoy it the summertime.
