Oudgasm Café Oud | 19 Eau de Parfum Intense

I absolutely LOVE this. Mostly, the Arabic note it leaves in the dry-down, the longevity, and the projection of the scent. I'm Arab, so I'll never turn down anything that makes me feel closer to home. But if you like coffee, you definitely get a delicious black coffee note in the first 30-60 minutes of wearing it. The dry-down is more like rose-oud, but it's a kind smell. It's outstandingly Middle Eastern but nothing headache-inducing like the real Oud you burn. It's a perfect strength; it's moderately strong in Oud. I can smell it on myself, as if I just sprayed it on, even 6 hours later (which is when I'm writing this lovely review). Kayali never fails. It's always a huge hit when you find a scent that lasts from this brand.

Despite the name, the rose note is very strong in here, so if you don’t like rose, you will not like this. I personally love this. This is a more welcoming and “beginner friendly” oud. Upon spraying, the rose top note is very loud but as it dries down, the oud and coffee emerge in the background. While the rose note stays present, I definitely do get a strong scent of coffee. I really like it because oud can often go in a more masculine direction and I feel this is a more feminine alternative which is just my personal preference. It almost reminds me a bit of FM Portrait of a Lady - a fantastic rose perfume and one of my favorites - with coffee added.

Fragrantica became my resource when it comes to making a decision whether to give a perfume a try or not. But this time I am really glad that I bought cafe oud before reading the reviews since most of them are not encouraging which is so sad. I absolutely love this perfume among all the oudgasm collection. And since I am new to the coffee note , I found this creamy , cappuccino version is a very good start. Love love the blend between creamy coffee, rose and oud. I bought the miniature size (which is so cute) and I’m thinking of buying a full size bottle.

This is one of my all time favorites!! I definitely get the coffee with rose/geranium and oud☕️🌹🪵 One of the best ouds I’ve smelled, not fecal or barnyardy. Notes blend beautifully together. Perfect for a winter night out. Lasts incredibly well, better than any I own. Kayali scents are really good if you smell them with an open mind

To me this one is just so perfect on the skin, the bitter coffee along with what seems to be a middle eastern Coco Noir just singsss. It is truly a dark, mysterious, scent that wakes your inner dark feminine energy. Anyone with a darker aesthetic, that loves earthy, slightly resinous, vampiric perfumes would love this too.

Update: I am on my 4th bottle. This perfume deserves alot of love despite getting alot of negative reviews. Compared to the Kayali freedom musk latte, this is a more tame and rose forward woody scent that could even be used during summer (not desert hot weather).

I don't know why Cafe Oud is getting a bad rep here fragrantica but this is a very good perfume. It's less of the oud but more of the rose with a light lactonic coffee. It's a complement getter whenever I wear it. My favourite scent from Kayali.

I've tried this one in Harrods today! Beautiful coffee note with (not that strong) oud. Everything in this perfume feels cozy and warm. My favorite from "Oudgasm" Collection! Love.

I add one spritz of this to my leave-in hair conditioner. It adds a rich tone to whatever scent I'm wearing that day. It's subtle but noticeable; especially to those that hug me.

A bit disappointed in this rose forward woody oud scent. I was expecting and hoping for milky warm lactonic coffee forward, it's just not. And trying to sniper the scent with your nose doesn't count and doesn't make it enjoyable. There's quite a bit to say about scents being conveyed a certain way, or poorly marketed and the let down feelings when what you expect it smell like just isn't there but thats a different discussion. Despite the misrepresentation this does succeed as a modern rose oud scent without smelling like Grandma Ruth, however doesn't really rival masters like Tom ford on the scent profile or the sexiness. It is uniquely Kayali smelling with its DNA written all over it. I felt more positive when I realized this layers well with Vanilla 28 and other scents, although I don't like paying 150 dollars for 50ml just to layer. These should be oud masterpieces as a stand alone especially when the note list on the website really gets you excited and always looks so enticing. But Kayali really does push layering their scents in their marketing so I guess all is fair, and it really does work. It it defiantly gets you to spend more money. The strangest part of this experience was that I was sent a free Freedom Musk Latte sample along with this perfume, and oddly enough it has the lactonic, warm coffee deliciousness that you would be expecting from cafe oud! Like wtf..... But I must say, they LAYER PERFECTLY TOGETHER. So now I'll be ordering Freedom Musk Latte, which oddly enough only comes in a 10ml on the website . If your expecting a yummy lactonic coffee scent just go with Freedom Musk and you won't be disappointed. If you want a solid Rose Oud this is it.

A strong, cool aromatic immediately projects. I thought this was one with cardamom in it but it’s not. It must be the patchouli. Sometimes patchouli gives a strong, medicinal opening like in Mugler Angel Muse EDP. I don’t get citrus at all. I’m also getting a powdery rose underneath. It’s reminiscent of velvety petals. My first impression is that this fragrance will be off-putting to the typical Kayali customer. It’s not blind buy safe. It’s also quite a mature scent. I’d imagine smelling this on a woman 55+. I can easily see this giving people headaches. I’m not hating this scent, I actually do like it. I just want to give others a warning. As it wears, I’m feeling a sinus-clearing effect. It doesn’t smell camphoric but has that effect. I really did not expect this! Once this effect dies down, a smoothness emerges. I can’t say I’m getting coffee and oud. It is slightly sweet, powdery, and vanilla... maybe even milky. I guess that is close enough to coffee if I imagine. I have other fragrances with the cappuccino note but they're pretty different from this. The deep, sweet, powdery vanilla is the scent I still get in the dry down. At the same time, there’s a bitterness and rose keeping this interesting instead of generic. This was a wild ride of a fragrance. I think this will be polarizing but appeal to fragrance lovers.

Café Oud is one of the most missleading perfumes I have ever tried. From the marketing of the entire Oudgasm line I expected this being way darker and heavier. And off course I expected it to smell like coffee and oud based on the name. Well, it's not at all what I expected. I actually think the scent itself is pretty good. It's a fresh, slighlty spicy floral, with maybe some lighter woodiness in the background. But I don't get any coffee or oud what so ever. I was afraid this would be too heavy and difficult to wear, but that's not the case at all. It's actually really wearable year around to many different environments. I could see it working in office as well as special occassion like wedding. It smells expensive, like something your middle aged boss that has their stuff together would wear. But it still doesn't smell like old lady, just grown up and sophisticated. All of that being said, it's one of those fragrances that I don't feel like myself when I wear it. But I do appreciate how this smells like, maybe I just wish it was named differently. And who knows, maybe in 10 years from now I will be over sweet gourmands and want something more mature, but not overpowering with florals. Then I could see myself going for something like Café Oud.

Kayali's Cafe Oud 19 is a very beautiful fragrance for Autumn in my opinion. I don't particularly detect much of the coffee/cappuccino notes. I think I smell a whisper of coffee hidden in the citrus, but I wouldn't really consider this a cappuccino scent at all. The oud in this perfume is very friendly and easy-going, making this a good intro to oud fragrances as it lacks that animalistic dirtiness that ouds can have. On first spray I mostly get the burst of citrussy, green, freshness from the bergamot and geranium, and then it settles down into a very rosy, patchouli, woody smell on me. After it's had time to sit on my skin for a while I end up with a hint of vanilla and musk peeking through- but it very much stays rosy and incensey on my skin. I would mostly describe this scent as "dry" smelling. I do think Cafe Oud 19 would layer very well with a vanilla perfume or lotion if you were missing the sweet notes one often associates with coffee fragrances. Overall I really like this perfume. I like the way the rose isn't suffocating and the oud is relaxed. This will be an easy reach for the season.

My least favorite of the Oudgasm collection. I generally love a coffee note, but this one is definitely more milk than coffee. edit 09/28/24: This scent comes alive in colder weather. I’m picking up more coffee in the dry down, though definitely still milky. But much more prominent than the coffee note is a citrusy oud rose. Jury’s still out on how those notes are supposed to work together. I usually don’t take my cappuccino with roses and lemons. At least it’s an interesting combo, I’ll give it that.

This is an interesting fragrance. It’s a like, not a love. I get roasty black coffee, bitter geranium, bright unsweetened rose, and a light vanillic oud, in that order. It’s fresher than I thought it would be, especially in the beginning, but it becomes a rounder scent in the dry down. I think it’s quite modern, but also mature smelling. Unisex. Moderate longevity on my skin.

Sadly feel zero coffee, was hoping for it. Can clearly feel oud tree, rose and patchouli. Beautiful unisex spicy wood fragrance, as for me. Started with purchasing 10 ml, will be thinking if I want full bottle. Added later: Actually smell of coffee came later, in about 40 minutes I started to smell milky coffee too. Very cozy soft perfume. Love it!

I expected this line to have more of a "coffee" smell. I don't smell the coffee sadly that much, and after smellong the others I wish I would have bought the vanilla or rose one. Despite, I still like this one, even though I am not the biggest fan of oud/patchouli. This won't be a day-to-day Fragrance and might have to grow on me still.

As I'm scrolling these reviews I am shocked that I am the only one who finds this fragrance SUPER musky and to have similarities to Narciso Rodriguez EDT!!! I wore it all day today and while at work, I got periodic whiffs of a sweet, musky, powdery, smell with a hint of rose...no prominent coffee scent came through to me at all🤷♀️

I actually feel like this is the lightest of the fragrances in this series, not the Vanilla, which I found to be quite strong. This was pleasant and inoffensive. Not super woody, just a light café scent. I went light with sprays based on the vanilla, but will actually spray a few more from now on.
