Oudgasm Vanilla Oud | 36 Eau de Parfum Intense

My Kayali Oud Collection came in. I watched every single YouTube video and NOTHING prepared me for what I actually smelled. I wanted to know if a person wasnt into oud, should we be afraid of the collection. These are all classic Kayali DNA fragrances. Those who are typically underwhelmed with Kayali, you'll be underwhelmed again. Kayali lovers will find happiness once again. These are all BEGINNER friendly ouds. The black bottles werent necessary. They are all soft skin scents. These are crowd pleasing and nothing is off putting even if it isnt your cup of tea per se. My favorite is Vanilla Oud. They honestly didn't even need to call it oud bc you cant detect it at all. Its a soft pretty dainty skin scent. Is it groundbreaking? No! Does it need to be? No! McDonald's isnt extraordinary either but they are still #1. I want a full bottle of the Vanilla Oud. Kayali is famous for their vanillas and they nailed it once again right here. Tobacco Oud: This is my 2nd favorite and I also want a full bottle of it. It sort of reminds me of a baby Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Although this one has supposedly the most intensity of oud, it's still a very elementary level of oud and very safe to move product for the masses. The opening isn't that great but the mid is addictive and the drydown after 2-3 hours is a baby candy sweet vanilla with lace and glitter femininity. Cafe Oud: Im a coffee fragrance lover. I own Delox from Tiziana Terenzi. I love the coffee in Bond No 9 New York Nights & New Haarlem. I also love the coffee in Followed by Kerosene. Cafe Oud unfortunately missed the mark. It smelled stale on me. Not an old stale smell but something that just recently went stale. Rose Oud: Im not typically into rose so to no surprise this didnt work for me either. I would imagine rose ppl would appreciate this one. I do like the rose in the new Carmina by CREED interestingly enough. Kayali gets both a lot of love and hate. (That's what happens when you're on top!) I am a Kayali fan. Opens with clearly vanilla and a cold, astringent smell of saffron. Some people get something medicinal/dentist gloves from saffron and if that’s you, definitely smell this scent first. It smells more like that when I sniff up close. I don’t get that in the sillage. As it warms on my skin, I get more of a sugared, delicious vanilla and something else. I wouldn’t have been able to identify it without the notes in front of me but it’s praline. The saffron evolves to be more leathery as it goes into the mid. Once this flips the whole scent comes together into something cohesive. It’s like it unlocks the oud and really serves as an enhancer to the woodiness. The oud is light in this one. In the deep dry down, the oakmoss comes out. I love oakmoss. This one is cool, earthy, and gives a vintage touch. The first time I tried this, I was nearly happy dancing at how good of a scent this is! I sprayed this one right out of the package and went on a hike along the river. I kept smelling myself even with all the other smells (of the river, trees, dirt, people, animals). I was loving it! Usually going outside tampers down my fragrance so much that I can’t smell it anymore. So caution there that this scent is powerful! At the same time, it’s so pleasant that I’m not choking myself out. I got the rest of the collection and from my initial sniffs of the others, I’m loving them too. I’ll need to get to wearing those and report back. Off the top of my head, I don’t have anything else in my collection like this. I really disagree with the Eilish comparison I see here. Eilish smelled like artificial-tasting chocolates from childhood that were amazing then but would taste disgusting as an adult. Eilish never came together for me. It was always a sweet chocolatey vanilla with berries on top - a jarring combination that never melded.

Omg I just LOVE this! The longer it sat in my skin, the longer I fell in love. Honestly, I wasn’t going to buy this - it didn’t sound like I would have liked it, let alone love it but I’m glad I do!! In this past few months I’ve bought - Escapade Gourmand (5/10), Bianco Latte (6/10)) I go nose blind to it real quick, Burberry Goddess (7/10) didn’t fall in love bc I have B&BW Cozy Sunday Morning in my collection & to my nose, it smells almost identical so I felt like it wasn’t anything I haven’t already smelled - but I eventually started to enjoy it and I also bought Mahni Cassonade (10/10) I just love it!! I’ve also sampled a handful of vanilla perfumes but nothing but Mahni Cassonade got my love and attention the way Vanilla Oud did. It is loooong lasting on my skin & it just feels so warm and cozy but also sexy and flirty. Yesterday I sampled Nest Lychee Rose on one wrist and I had Vanilla Oud on the other. It is the PERFECT combo! This combo reminds me a little of Lamar Kajal. Mmmm!! I’m glad that Kayali fragrances work on my skin. A lot of people say it doesn’t last long on their skin but my very moisturized skin (stupid dry when not) loves Kayali and it is one of the few fragrance houses that works for me! It is all long lasting and hours later, I can still smell it on my skin.

This is a lovely, powdery vanilla oud fragrance. If you are a beginner to oud I think this one is very comfortable to wear as the oud is very light in it. I definitely agree with the reviews below, this is very similar to Eilish and Lattafa’s Nebras. The only difference is that the vanilla in this is less syrupy and it is more powdery, also there is a touch of oud added. But that’s it! Basically Nebras and Eilish are more gourmand smelling. This is still a gourmandy oud, but it leans powdery. So overall, imagine vanilla topped with some powder and a touch of woodiness. 🍦🪵 Although it is a very lovely fragrance, I think I will use up my small bottle and skip on purchasing the full bottle. In all honestly, I adore Kayali and all their fragrances, but I wouldn’t purchase a full bottle as I already have Nebras and they are very similar in my opinion. And I actually prefer Nebras as I am more of a gourmand girl. I would highly recommend if you love gourmand, powdery, vanilla oud fragrances. Ps. Longevity and sillage is good 🖤

so i just got this and i gotta say, it is not your typical vanilla at all, however it is GOOD! first spray i got a lot of saffron, vanilla and oud, almost like a bitter-sweet combination, in a good way, then it dries down to this sweet leather-y woody vanilla note (i know it doesnt have leather but maybe its the cashemere or something but it really has a hint of leather on my skin. ) It is unexpected and good but there is also a familiarity in it. At first i thought it reminded me of Divine Perversion by Hedonik but then it changed again and it hit me. It smells like a mix between Vanille Supermassive by Les EAUX Primordiales & Lovefest Burning Cherry by Kayali with a touch of Oud and Saffron. On my skin at least of course. But it is good, i reccomend it! Also longevity seems to be longer than usual on kayali perfumes. Cant wait to try the rest!

Creamy musky gourmand oud with an intense vanilla base. This fragrance reminds me of a very classy, sultry, wealthy, fashionable lady. Like samantha from sex and the city. I don't agree with some reviews calling it synthetic, I actually think it's very creamy and well blended. It's kind of an "intense" fragrance on my skin at least, and I wouldn't wear this to work. The longevity and sillage is great, I tried this in Sephora before buying it and I kept smelling my wrist many hours later because it was that good. I haven't found another kayali scent I like nearly as much as this, because most of them seem very old-fashioned. Vanilla Oudgasm is timeless, mature, very gourmand, and very sultry. If I were to say anything it would be that the Oud doesn't show up as much as the name implies, but I don't mind that.

My first from the Oud collection! I am a vanilla girl through and through so this is very much up my alley. I thought it would be much stronger but it's very subtle when it comes to oud. It's there but the main hitter is still vanilla. Kayla knows how to do vanilla fragrances and if I would compare it to their other fragrances - Yum Pistachio is very similar to it. They are both very sweet when they dry down and I would say even that they are basically twins. Saffron is also noticeable and that oak moss for my nose too with a hint of musk. I can see myself wearing this one on colder seasons and mostly in the nighttime, maybe layer it with something lighter during daytime. Very much a unisex fragrance! I intend to buy the Cafe and Rose ones too but as it's nearing summer, I will get them later in the year!

Update: I went from liking to loving it , this is an amazing vanilla scent, BUT still I wish if there is a chance to improve the opening which smells so chemical, while the dry down is everything but it takes time . I blindly bought the miniature size and let me tell you if I tried a sample of it in the store beforehand I wouldn’t give it a second chance because of the opening which doesn’t do any justice to the beautiful slow dry down . In my opinion this is a pure Gourmande. I can’t smell any oud but I think it’s somewhere there playing a deepening darkening role. Does anyone smell bitter sweet marzipan note in this? I am not a gourmands fan but I think this is beautiful and already has enough complexity , it doesn’t need to be layered with another fragrance , like most Kayali’s do.

God this is so delicious and creamy, it's a good introduction to oud if it's not something you're familiar with and you prefer sweet fragrances. The longevity is insane and in the drydown it is so sugary and yet deep at the same time from the woodiness. I usually can't do saffron at all, it often smells metallic and unpleasant on my skin, but here it's just perfect. The pear is prominent, but not as much as the vanilla - the rose adds a little sweetness and more depth but by far the most prominent notes are vanilla and oud. The projection is excellent too! I have the 10ml bottle and will, without a doubt, be upgrading to the 50ml for the coming cooler months. It layers amazingly with Eilish No 1, which is the combo I'm wearing today in England's dreary early-autumn cold damp weather.

This is very sweet but the oud adds enough depth that the sweetness isn't sickening. If you're new to oud, this could be a good intro to ease yourself into it. I dislike oud but I find this one to be ok. All I smell is sugar and oud and maybe a little oak moss. I don't get any vanilla or rose. This is a nighttime scent but I don't think I can pull it off. I imagine a hotter and meaner woman who is very strict wearing this at night. She doesn't care about your opinion and she has great taste and goes to jazz clubs. She comes off kind of mean because she doesn't take shit from anyone, but she's very cool and a genuine girl's girl. The sugar smells sweet and the oud and moss adds a sexy depth. It's a good intro to oud but I don't think this is for everyone.

The AUDACITY, to make such a good dark academia fragrance and gatekeep it behind a hyperglossy marketing aesthetic. That’ll teach me to be a snob. Subtle as a sledgehammer, wildly cozy. Maybe a bit early-2000’s Victoria’s Secret for some, but I have a soft spot for that. Maybe right in between dark academia and Y2K VS actually - do you know those “dark girlhood” type memes? What’s in my handbag: lip gloss, Sylvia Plath, the blood of my enemies, NFR on vinyl, cherry coke, etc. Edit: Turns out I LOVE this. Layering with my current fav Vanagloria and I feel like an avenging goddess. TLDR: Surprisingly dark feminine energy. Gimme.

this is the most complimented perfume in my collection. i find this fragrance incredibly intriguing, especially for a vanilla. it’s complex, but very approachable. the oud and praline work their magic here. it’s sensual on a night out, yet inoffensive enough to wear at the office (personally, i go lighter at work, 1-2 sprays and layer with a modest dose of bare vanilla). i think it’s a sublime entry level oud. i can still smell it 8 hours later, and the dry down isn’t drastically different from the initial spray, just softer - which i appreciate.

This fragrance is STUNNING! When I first tried it, I wasn't sure if I liked it. But honestly, I don't think I even know what I was expecting. I found myself sniffing my arm obsessively all day. I've now gone through several full size bottles and I love it more than ever. It's cozy and warm, a little powdery and has the perfect amount of sweetness. The oud is present, but is subtle enough to work for people that typically don't enjoy oud. This is definitely not a gourmand. Vanilla Oudgasm is a masterpiece. This will be in my collection forever.

Definitely my favourite Kayali I have tried but that is a very short list at the moment. Tempting enough to want to try all the Oudgasm line and anything vanilla they make. Really yummy, faint animalic smell on opening but quickly envelopes you in a warm rich woody vanilla. I cant get enough of woody/vanilla/amber frags so my position writing this review is biased towards it just from the name haha. Its saffron heavy, with a rosey tint. Would buy a small bottle but I do think its slightly overpriced for KAYALI

MY NEW FAVORITE KAYALI! I’m obsessed with this, it’s so hard to wear anything else rn! I’ve gotten so many compliments from my coworkers & friends even a construction worker i walked by yelled “miss you smell so beautiful!” lol. The sillage/projection/longevity is definitely there, it has presence but it’s still such a cozy delicate scent- it’s creamy, woody, powdery, musky, sweet & a little fruity & fresh! i’m definitely going to have to get another full bottle soon.

I am not a huge fan of Kayali. I do love Invite only & MUSK 12. This fragrance is an acquired taste, but so yummy. This fragrance is very sugary sweet on my skin & super long lasting. 8+ hours of GOOD wear. It becomes a skin scent at about the 12th hour for me. It smells like a buttery, brown sugary sweet vanilla cookie with a wonderful dose of oud. Fantastic!

Not your basic Vanilla! Totally unique and addicting. Completely different than Vanilla 28 and Vanilla Royale. Vanilla is Kayali's thing. I purchased the mini sizes of all four from the Oudgasm collection. Out of the four, my favorite is Cafe Oud. I ordered a full size of Cafe Oud soon after testing it out. The entire collection is beautiful! 10/10!

this is one of my favorites of the oudgasm line (this and chocolate oud). It isn't a syrupy sweet vanilla, it's a deep, dark vanilla with a little oud but the oud is not overpowering or strong. it's very wearable to me. It lasts ALL day - 7-8 hours wear for me and I didn't even layer anything under it. I'll be getting a full bottle of this one.

Underrated! It’s sweet and to my nose a well balanced mix between vanilla, fresh pear, musks & a very subtle rose. It is DENSE too, almost lotion-like. After wearing it for a couple hours it turns into a beautiful, soft cashmere-like musk on my skin. This is a fantastic not-quite gourmand fragrance and quite the compliment magnet.
