Isles Loîntaines

How could I have missed this gem for almost 15 years? This is so special und definitely underrated - which I think is a good thing meanwhile as Mecheri scents are really still niche in the way that in Europe you can hardly get them anywhere and it's comparably a hassle to buy a bottle or test the scents prior. But about the scent: This is the most beautiful, elegant and special white flower scent I have tried yet. There is nothing typical about it. It starts with a not listed fresh pear note and a very soft, intoxicating tuberose. (This combination alone is special enough). After some minutes I get something like... almond mousse? and the real, very soft Tiaré - which has nothing to do with what is normally listed in scents or body products as Tiaré, as it is always artifical, very cloying in your face flower that has no resemblance to the real stuff. Mecheri used the real stuff and I appreciate that so much! I also get equally soft real gardenia and non-indolic jasmine with a very soft musk in the background. All is well-rounded with a very light citrusnote (like a citrus sorbetcream) in the drydown, which gives the scent a remaining subtle freshness. Everything is so perfectly blended and the single notes are such good and realistic quality, I'm really blown away by this. It is NOT resembling the (for me) awful Dior Poison-scents, which are superstrong, super artificial and cause me migraines immediately. This scent here couldn't be more different, even if there might be some related notes. Try this if you appreciate a scent that is perfectly blended with high quality, authentic notes, and if you, as I do, appreciate scents that are allowed to remain near you without a super strong longevity and sillage.

This is a scent that deserves way more credit! Isles Lointaines is an actually quite a unique white floral scent. It has a freshness to it, making it ideal for Spring or Summer. I actually get honeysuckle (although not listed), tiare flower and gardenia mainly. I don’t smell any Tuberose, Jasmine or rose notes. My bottle has only just arrived, so maybe those notes will emerge over time. I also don’t smell any Almond, but this is likely what is giving the scent its clean cotton vibe. This reminds me of sitting on a tropical island somewhere, soaking up the sun. I’m surrounded by fresh white florals and I’m on one of those white bed loungers with the box frame around it, draped in soft cotton sheets. You get the mix of different exotic white florals and the clean cotton, as it sways in the breeze. This is a soft fragrance and it does sit close to the skin, however Im also testing this on a cold march day. It will be interesting to see how this performs in the heat of summer. This is a beautiful, exotic, relaxing, sophisticated, creamy, feminine scent. It’s a shame it’s been discontinued! I don’t get the comparison to Poison at all.

This is just phenomenal. I do understand the comparisons to Dior's Pure Poison, they are both strong white floral fragrances, but this one is without the sharpness and soapiness of Pure Poison, and all the better for it. This is so incredibly beautiful, I really encourage anyone curious to try it. I purchased my sample vial from Luckyscent. On me it's a sumptuous blend of sweet almond, tiare, gardenia, jasmine, tuberose and vanilla rounding out the base. Inhaling is like wandering through an exotic garden on an island escape. I've been trying very hard to make sure I'm picky with anything I choose to add to my collection these days, so I have pondered this decision for the last two months almost (I've spent far too much on perfumes alone this year - how is it only May!?) and have decided Isles Lointaines is just too beautiful for me to be without a full bottle. It's feminine and fresh, but with a lovely creaminess, no sharpness here! It is lucid, rich, sensual. Good projection and longevity, can't think of any negatives!

This really does smell similar to Pure Poison, but rather to the first, pre-reformulation edition of it (which was creamier than the newer, more citrusy one). Pure Poison is a terrific perfume, by the way, but I Love ISLES LOINTAINES more, and here's why: whereas PURE POISON is a fresh bouquet of jasmine and gardenias with a generous amount of musk and citrus, ISLES is a very creamy gardenia with an emphasis on its sweeter, almond-y facet. It's more tropical, and much rounder, and basically, yes, it's a different perfume, they do smell similar, but their vibes are very different, with PP being more soapy, squeaky clean, sporty, with an emphasis on jasmine, synth-musk and citrus, and IL on almond, gardenias and a little vanilla. For those who miss the original formulation of Pure Poison (which was out of this world) I highly recommend to try Isles Lointaines.

onaona, you will not be disappointed by Isles Lointaines! The first note I got after applying my sample was gardenia, followed quickly by jasmine. After a bit the amber joins the party. This is well-balanced, scent, with all three notes playing nicely and none screaming for attention. Isles is strangely slightly cool and warm at the same time. I think that's because of the jasmine and amber being balanced so well. Isles is perfect for a warm summer night.It makes me think about palm trees swaying gently under a full moon. For a scent with only three notes it's quite impressive! Update; Here are the notes listed on Lucky Scent: Sweet almond, gardenia, Tahitian tiare, tuberose, jasmine, rose absolute, vanilla, benzoin So no amber? I did start smelling something sweet after a bit. So I think almond and vanilla are right.

I can't wait to try this fragrance. I am somewhat infatuated with the Keiko Mecheri line. I've found so many treasures in KM, I'm sure this is another one to add to my list. Mogador is the most beautiful rose fragrance I've experienced....soft, delicate and uplifting. I'm betting Isles Lointaines celebrates jasmine and gardenia with the same grace. I know, I know....not exactly a review =) Update.... Well, I've been wearing it for 2 years now. Isles Lointaines is Pure Poison's sassy older sister. It lacks the innocence and muted feel of Pure Poison, turning the volume up just a bit and producing less of a comfort scent and more of a statement maker. I love both...equally :) btw, it last forever on my skin!

One word...balmy. Another two...love it. I finally got my hands on some samples from Keiko Mecheri this weekend and I'm very impressed with this house. I just want more and more! This is a perfect scent for fans of tropical white flowers who do not want to give off a "bathful of sunscreen" vibe. This is the real deal. At the risk of sounding corny, I can almost feel the soft white petals stroking my wrist. Natural yet high end and reminiscent of a spa in Bora Bora. Silky, creamy tuberose and heady tiare set off by a gentle almond and warmed up with sizzling Amber. If you liked Datura Noir by Lutens then you'll love this. Now I want to book some plane tickets to a far flung Eden and upgrade to first class.

I love this. It feels balmy and sunny and optimistic. It feels like I should be lounging on a white sand beach in Bali. I love a good balmy scent that doesn't have the sunscreen note. The florals are really beautiful. This is a rare instance of almond not turning to play-doh on my skin, which is a huge bonus. This is an easy grab for the summer.

This is a good elegant summer fragrance. It has a really nice tropical but classy feel. It would go perfectly with flowy white trousers and a sophisticated halter. I would also think it could be worn anywhere you can wear a fabulous floppy hat. I really love it.

"Isles Lointaines" supposedly means "Distant Islands", so it is no wonder that so many reviewers describe this as tropical, and it is indeed, without as much as a smidgen of coconut. It's all creamy, dreamy white flowers, lotion-y, soft and inviting. Love.

Dior PURE POISON is a beautiful perfume, but it bears within it all the poisonous power of its namesake and is in fact very difficult for me to wear without enduring a headache. Must I therefore deny myself the experience of its glorious resinous jasmine? Not anymore. Keiko Mecheri ISLES LOINTAINES smells every bit as beautiful as PURE POISON to my nose, and very similar compositionally. What's missing? The poison--whatever it is in the Dior which induces in me an acute headache if I apply one nanodrop too much. My previous alternative to PURE POISON was Jesus del Pozo IN WHITE, which always seemed to be the most similar to the Dior creation, except that it smelled just a bit dingy, and so did not quite capture the laser-like limpidity of PURE POISON. ISLES LOINTAINES, in contrast, manages to convey that same degree of clarity for me and simply oozes sumptuousness. I had been thinking that ISLES LOINTAINES came in the newer, clear bottle, not the traditional dark one. I suppose that I was associating the quality of the composition with the properties of the vessel in which it should be housed, logically speaking. Well, that's okay, since I wouldn't mind having another one of these bottles, even if I believe that the liquid inside would better match the clear one instead. Will you like this perfume? If you like PURE POISON, I am confident that you will. If you dislike PURE POISON, for the reasons that make it a difficult wear for me, then ISLES LOINTAINES may, too, work for you. However, if you are a jasmine phobe, this is not the perfume for you. No indoles here, but lots of flaming white jasmine, among other big white flowers...

Isles Lointaines is a gorgeous tropical floral fragrance. It is very elegant and makes me wish for a luxury island break on St. Barts. :) The fragrance starts out with plenty of gardenia - well-rounded, full, intense - and with some sweetness which must be the sweet almond note. The heart is all about wonderful white flowers - jasmine, tuberose and tiaré. I do not get any rose from Isle Lointaines, though. Isles Lointaines' base, vanilla and benzoin accords, is pure cuddliness that becomes more and more apparent with time. Still, the elegant white flowers dominate this composition from start to finish. I find Isles Lointaines to be an exceptionally well-made tropical white flower fragrance. It lasts for around 8 hours on my skin and projects with above-average strength. In regards to tropical white flowers: Isles Lointaines has the same elegant and luxurious feel to it that, so far, I have only found L'Eau Nirique and I strongly recommend L'Eau Nirique to everyone who loves Isles Lointaines - not as a replacement but as an addition to their tropical white flower collection. - I recently bought a preowned older black bottle of this fragrance. On my skin this fragrance opens with a blast of luxury tropical white floral sun lotion. The opening is stunning to me. The florals are pungent and intoxicating: I believe I'm smelling white florals and marzipan, maybe... I have no clue but I love it so much. It dries to a beautiful white floral garden after a rain when the flowers and leaves are dry but still lush and extra hydrated brimming with potential for photosynthesis. Anyway, it feels like the name "Isles Liotaines" suggests...a humid, musky island of intoxicating florals: jasmine, tuberose, tiare...gardenia. This fragrance has no sweetness at all in the opening and that's okay because it's just perfect as is. The drydown is divine when amber, vanilla and benzoin sweeten the blend and shine on skin albeit as a skinscent! It reminds of lots of fragrances particularly Gucci Bloom, which I love so much, but Isles Lointaines has shot straight to #1. Smells a lot like Pure Poison but less sharp and more creamy.

On myself, it starts out as very well balanced burst of florals with a hint of sweetness, which must be the sweet almond. I say well balanced as I can't immediately detect any singular flower. Due to the sweetness of it, I would probably be more inclined to wear it on summer nights when cooler, as sweeter notes can become quite syrupy on me during hot days. There is familiarity to this scent and I want to say that it reminds me of Givenchy Amariage but it has been a while since smelling it, so don't take my word for it. An Aunt use to wear Amariage although it literally smelt like an overkill air freshner on her. While I like Isles Lontaines and impressed with the balance of it, there is something about it that almost makes me want to rinse it off the longer I leave it to sit. I think this is due to the nostalgia of the Aunt who use to think she was doing us a favour by wearing Amariage lol.

Big gardenia opening, which settles into a watery blend of tiare flower, jasmine and tuberose. On my skin, this has very poor performance with both projection and longevity. It’s well blended and difficult to detect individual notes, but has an overall “classy summer resort” vibe. I get a similar vibe as Datura Noir- an almondy white floral that I can barely detect that keeps me sniffing, wanting more. I understand the comparison to Pure Poison. This is a bit softer, creamier, with less jasmine (which is quite heavy in Poison). I think it would be a great alternative for those who like big white florals but prefer skin scents.

Really gorgeous fragrance that smells exactly like Pure Poison only a tab bit more creamy and maybe a pinch more green. It has a salty, breezy, white floral vibe. I’ve owned Pure Poison in the past and currently wear Datura Noir all the time. While it’s the same kind of fragrance as DN it doesn’t have nearly as much almond, coconut, or osmanthus that DN has. It is nearly almost exactly the same scent as PP however. Really very pretty.

This one does smell very much like the opening of dior pure poison, I would say poison is a lot sharper and stronger. I prefer the drydown of poison better and so does my wallet. A pass for me.

An explosion of colors, flavors and sensations. Absolutely unisex, because when it comes to flowers there is no man or woman. For the summer it is a must.

A gentle tuberose scent. Nothing special for me, don't much care for tuberose. But definitely nice for those who love it. :)

Isles Loîntaines by Keiko Mecheri is a delicate white floral fragrance centered on tuberose and gardenia. The addition of almond gives it a creamy, body lotion-like quality, creating a comfort. It balances tropical freshness with green and powdery notes, making it both exotic and intimate.

Blind bought Keiko Mecheri Clair- Obsur Jasmine perfume and loved it so much , I then, bought Fleurs d’Osmanthus, Paradise Lost and Datura Blanche . I just love this perfume house even though it’s not well known in Australia . I am addicted to trying more . Keiko Mecheri delivers fragrances of quality composition , nothing synthetic - all promoting class and refinement . Its formulations are sheer almost ethereal , not like vintage , syrupy loud performers . That era for me has long past and I prefer the less offensive modern light formulations . With KM IL , the notes all pointed to a fragrance right up my alley ( being a white floral lover ) especially after reading the reviews . I tried three samples of KM IL now , and had to rewrite this four times . I just don’t understand why I get so many varying smells . I believe it’s a scent shifter! Always combining with the weather and emitting different prominent notes on my skin . It’s truly unique ! Originally , all I got was waxy / lipsticky notes which I didn’t like . I , then gave it another go and it was all out powdery and no distinct florals just powdery notes. Another morning, the almond and vanilla notes took centre stage . After a few weeks , I tried it again and it was a creamy, mixture of white florals reminiscent of Pure Poison ONLY with the opening notes . However , KM IL is softer , creamier and not as distinct with its white florals with predominant almond/ vanilla notes . It’s so well blended I just get a whiff of gardenia then the Tiare flower , now and then. I’m so glad it’s not a loud fragrance because of the Tuberose . Just an elegant , close to the skin , velvety vanilla floral . That too can be it’s negative , as I have to keep reapplying as the silage is poor. Alternatively , it could be my dry skin that devours perfumes. With regards to longevity, I get just over 4 hours which is pretty average . But MK IL is not actually a dupe of Pure Poison ,just similar . Anything similar to my luscious Pure Poison , I had to have in my collection . If you love your white florals with a touch of almond and vanilla , you have to try this 💓💓💓💓 Black Friday sale on and I bought a bottle . As usual it’s even better with a full spray . I have learnt that now. Samples aren’t always a true indicator . I’m so , so in love with this light , vanilla floral suited for any occasion , I know I would put it to many uses . It’s my summer signature scent . So worth the purchase!! Update: heavy spraying because this is so light , I had to buy another bottle for back up . This fragrance will be on my lifetime list and is my current signature scent

Divine through and through. A joyous opening of gardenia, tiare, jasmine and tuberose. Creamier than Pure Poison, richer (as in loaded with tiare, doubled by the gardenia), this could be her twin sister. It is bright in a warm but fresh way, the jasmine providing enough balance, with its delicate, just about soapy soul. I get the comparison with a "riviera vibe", and can see myself wearing this on summer evenings, while promenading on a marina, ice cream cone in hand, flowy light dress and flat sandals on. Dreamy. It sits rather close to the skin, which is great, as this should be a guilty pleasure to enjoy quietly with a smile, like a private joke. Can yet be perceived by someone near us, which makes this fragrance the perfect seduction ally. My hubby loves it, so this is a keeper for me. It reminds me of Labello chapstick, only way more sophisticated a version of it. Absolutely angelic, gets a full 10/10 for projection and sillage too from me. It really works well on my skin, the way I like a good scent to perform for me.

God, I like it! I feel better when I try a sample and I absolutely hate because it's one less that i'll want to spend my money on, but this is not the case. This is very nice, reminded me of the experience I had when I tried Montale Intense Tiare the other day.This is happiness, relaxing, enjoying life, wind blowing in your hair kind of fragrance. The Gardenia, the jasmine, the tuberose, the tiare flower are all there but not like in a cleaning product kind of way. They are well balanced, making this a calm, warm, sweet fragrance. This is what really nice, honest, good people smell like, in my head. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, to me, it's a very innocent fragrance. And now one more on my wish list. Update: after +-10 hours on my skin I can still smell it, now it's very subtle but still a very pretty fragrance. I need this in my life.

Isles Lointaines is a lovely white floral fragrance.Do not buy this if you do not care for huge, lush white florals.On my skin it opens up with a fresh citrus note which lasts merely a few seconds than the floral notes come to the fore.I smell gardenia and tiaré flowers so this is indeed a tropical blend.I am not a fan of tiaré notes as most tend to be very intense and cloying on my skin, but here it is really well done and not too sweet even though the whole concoction lies on a warm bed of vanilla on my skin.It is a beautiful warm tropical fragrance which has no sharp edges but does not have the depth and evocative feeling like for instance Manoumalia.

This is a delightful and balmy tropical scent thanks to the warm depths of tiare flower, gardenia, vanilla and amber. It is comforting and island-glam at the same time, it definitely transports you to an exotic destination like Hawaii or Mauritius. The sillage is moderate to begin with and then in a short time-frame, it draws close to the skin and becomes much more personal. Lasting power is moderate-good. I can get about 4-5hours of sniff out of this. The bottle is unique and spells out pure luxury. I enjoy this scent, but for the price it retails at, I'm not sure it's as overwhelming/outstanding as it should be.

If you want to know this fragrance's "twin," look no further than the late, great Azzaro 9. The resemblance is very strong, which is a good thing for me, since Azzaro 9 is long out of production and hard to find. I loved its heady intensity, and Isles Lontaines would be an ideal replacement for it. The almond note differentiates it from the Azzaro, and almond fans will find this to be a rich interpretation. I have a great affinity fo white florals, they can hardly be too strong for me, and Isles Lontaines fits the bill just right.

This is an absolutely gorgeous fragrance! Lush, tropical, fresh. I feel so pretty and feminine when I wear this. Ordered a sample from luckyscent but will not be purchasing a full bottle due to its poor longevity and sillage. It does smell like a more natural version of pure poison. The florals are warmer than pure poison, and the jasmine smells fresh, not syrupy in this one. Bottega Veneta knot is a little similar, but is heavier on the neroli instead of the tiare.

Trying this one out in the wrong season (autumn), but I’m completely infatuated with this stunning floral and will be counting down the days to spring, at which time I will most likely be wearing this daily until next autumn. So clean, so soft, so feminine. A gorgeous white floral dream. 100% love it.

This is not even close to Pure Poison (I owned that multiple times). If anyone has a still wearable bottle of this please email me! Labello chapstick in the best possible way. I've written a more detailed review some time ago, below, so have a read if you feel. In few words - beautiful and unique.

You need to try this if you love creamy white flowers with almond and vanilla,this is so beautiful I can detect the almond all the way through,but this shines in the dry down with the vanilla almond white flowers mix absolutely beautiful a must try for floral lovers

To me this one is too sharp, soapy, too strong especially in the opening. I wish i got the creamy, tropicalish vibes that all the others are talking about :( Just removed this from my wishlist. I like their Datura Blanche scent better.

A soft floral scent, like expensive hand lotion. I'm also smelling a soft wood note that is light enough to underline without obtruding. Pleasant, sweet feminine floral. Tea party, church appropriate.

I have a full bottle, 2 sprays out of it. Looking to swap for anything on my 'want list'. Also swapping from Keiko,Oliban. Must be within Australia
