Buttercup Babe

The Softest Buttercup... This reminds me of the slogan 'Just Breathe'. To be honest, I have no idea what a buttercup smells like, or if it's a fantasy floral note, but in my imagination this could be it. The notes are a little hard to interpret here, but this is the one of the softest, butteriest floral-musk freshies I've come across. The citrus accord reads more like mild fruit to me - muted pear or pear-apple. The floral bouquet is an ethereal mix including lily, peony and something near mimosa. Soft woods are there merely as floral support in the base. Overall this is a gorgeous, light floral-musk freshie with average performance for a spring-summer wearing experience, but could be worn in cooler months as an understated skin scent. Enjoy! Update 07/15/24: Sprayed this one on today and it's aging nicely. Definitely a blossom vibe - I'm getting something close to pear-blossom & water-lily, partially built with lily & peony. Not quite as light as before, but still a light spring-summer scent. Really enjoying the pear blossom vibe. Update 08/02/25: Now that this has aged quite a bit, I seem to be getting a soft green apple or at least an apple-blossom out of what I once thought was a pear-blossom note. That along with the fresh soft florals. Love it.

Perfect light floral summer fragrance. The peony, magnolia stand out with a slight hint of freesia and lily to create a well balanced mix of floral dewy freshness. The aquatic is more of a light fresh morning dew on white flowers than a defined oceanic aquatic scent. Dry down retains that fresh floral , with a soft musky light citrus woodsy scent that lingers close to the skin. Lasts a few hours before reapplication, but you want that light fresh floral scent in the summer heat. Price point is great, and a safe blind buy. Would definitely add this to my summer fragrance list again. I feel feminine and pretty wearing it.

One of my favorite scents ever. Light, fresh, dewy floral with fruity and grassy components. Green grape, melon. Daisies. Very light lily. Peony. Freesia. Not quite aquatic, but has qualities of the category. Reminds me of Issey Miyake's L'eau. Maybe a bit of Britney Spears Curious. It's so happy, and fresh. There is a tiny bit of sweetness there, but I wouldn't classify it as 'sweet' the way people classify a 'sweet fragrance' today (Pink Sugar, Cloud etc). Like the way wine can be classified as 'sweet' without being very sweet when it's compared to a dessert. Very glad they created a database entry for this.

I got this in a set when it was on sale at Macy's online last month. The box and bottle is so pretty with all the little butterflies which I love. It was a blind buy but based on notes in description It came with a full size spray, a purse sized spray, a shimmering body oil and body lotion. I like the scent. It is light, airy, aquatic but like another reviewer said, not in a heavy oceanic kind of way but in a morning dew or rain kind of way. It's a happy, lighthearted, fun kind of scent and very non offensive in a work setting or close quarters. The sillage is not strong, more skin close but with some projection and the longevity is only a few hours but the purse spray is handy to top up anywhere. I'm sorry to say but the oil and the lotion do not have much scent and what's there is short lived but they do moisturize the skin and serve as a base for the spray to cling to. A safe buy for yourself or for a gift as it is nicely presented and the price is right, especially on sale, lol. Can be worn by any age.
