Aqua Kenzo pour Homme

OK, just hear me out-- It's like Versace Blue Jeans, but grown up. You liked Versace Blue Jeans, right? It got you a lot of compliments at formal events or just wherever. But you knew that you had to leave Versace Blue Jeans behind because you were a grown up now. Adults don't buy Versace Blue Jeans, that's what you were told. Go find some other everyday fragrance. So you go to YouTube and you search up fragrance reviews and you find Jeremy Fragrance, like everyone else searching for fragrances, and you go sniff every scent he encourages you to try, and you're like, no, I don't know what vision of universal manhood you've conjured in your head but it smells a whole lot different than mine. So you go to the niche houses, you start smelling perfumes that cost more than your car payment and you find some nice stuff but at the end of the day its sooooo expensive so you're like toodles bitches bye bye because this world of fragrance isn't for me.So you think, no one is putting forth a compelling rendition of how a person should be In the form of a fragrance, and then amidst a grab bag of samples and spray bottles you finally, finally, finally find a scent that just has that X. You know what I mean? That thing that's you. That embodies you. But it embodies something else too. Something undestinct. But something desirable. The Quintessence of humanity. You feel like, that kind of scent could be an ideology. An empire. A lifestyle. But it's always out of your reach-- up until now. Aqua Kenzo por Homme Kenzo is exactly what this planet needs to smell like at this time of crisis. I want nothing more than to spread its gospel, its fruity, its fresh, its minty, its spicy, it's whatever. It's all that will be left when the aliens glaze the last of us off this cold dead planet, but that's fine, because it represents everything I searched for-- the vision of universal manhood, the quintessence of humanity, the grown up version of Versace Blue Jeans. Inhale. It's sweet. It's grounding. It's Pure. It's yours. Aqua Kenzo por Homme Kenzo. For any gender!

Aqua Kenzo does smell very similar to the original Paul Smith London, which I also have. I did a spray test on each hand to compare the two. London doesn't have the slight hazelnut accord this one has (London has coconut), and it's generally lighter. Aqua Kenzo PH lasted slightly longer, I can still smell it after 4 hours but the London is almost gone. Aqua Kenzo PH is a nice scent that fits into the profile of the modern sweet scents (Invictus, Coach for Men, Jimmy Choo Man, etc.) Not saying this smells just like those, but it's in the same realm of fragrances. Imagine those with a slight nutty accord. This is not an aquatic scent to my nose. I'm happy with this purchase (30ml bottle for $12). Joy Amin (review below) is correct, this house doesn't get much love but has some quality offerings. I don't understand all the dislikes above, this does not deserve it. My guess is that "Aqua" in the name does not reflect the fragrance and people were disappointed. Not me, this is fine for casual/office wear. Update: I've been wearing this for a week and it's really nice. I love it more. This is a fine replacement for London as it gives off a similar impression to others, even if it's not exactly the same. I've noticed the very slight aquatic/fresh note on the opening, but it doesn't last. What lasts is that sweet, nutty, playful scent. And it's there for a while! When I opened my closet, I got hit with a blast of this from a few sprays on a shirt days before. This is my most liked fragrance that has the most dislikes here on Fragrantica, if that makes sense (not including Office For Men, which are fake dislikes). 2nd Update: Changed my vote from "Like" to "Love"! Wore it today and smelled it for the entire day. After wearing it often, I love this one now. Hidden gem for me.

#1044 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I was just telling someone yesterday that as a rule I avoid fragrances rated below 4.00, but I occasionally experiment based on the notes. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. This is a winner for me. I love it's peppery, citrusy character. I have many scents with it. Creed "Aventus", Roja "Elysium", Nishane "Ani X", Roja "Oligarch", Rasasi "Rumz al Rasasi 9459" but they are all far more complex. Of what I have this is closest to Brioni's "Eau de Parfum Intense" which has no hazelnut, but that's not a strong note here either. I think this is acceptable business wear or date wear. Car pool, elevator and small office safe. Good longevity and projection. A successful blind by for me. My first Kenzo. I'll give some others a try down the road.

This is such a fascinating, unexpected release by Kenzo. I quite like it, but it really doesn't seem to fit with the marketing for it, including its actual name, and it doesn't seem to adhere to typical conventions about scents in general. The opening is fairly aquatic and fresh, with the watery and fruity notes being relatively prominent, then those die down and we're left with a much heavier (what I would consider) fall/winter scent. I think the best way to describe what it smells like is across between 1 Million Lucky and YSL Y. I don't get why there's been so much hate for it, though. It smells lovely and is totally a crowd-pleasing scent, without being a typical masculine freshie. I also get excellent performance, which is unusual for me.

Been reading and watching some reviews about this one for some times and understand the love&hate nature of it. For me, it's a LIKE. Like 7.5/10...? Opens up with not-too-dense sweet-fresh-nutty. Compared to 1M Lucky, I personally prefer Kenzo Aqua tbh. In fact, idk somehow, there's kind of sweet pineapple accord....? In short, fruity sweet + fresh + nutty. Then as it develops, it starts to smell a bit aquatic fresh and greenish. Still maintain the a-bit-sweetness though. Dry down is the kind of similar to many blue-ambery fragrances out there imo. Very versatile. All year round. Suits more for the youngers I think. It's not bad. It's good enough for me.

water addicts, this isn't for you. an absolutely non existent watery note opens up with instead a woodsy, tonka bean and hazelnut filled death trap with hints of apples and bergamot sprinkled in to remind you it wants to be a summer fragrance. drydown of amber, sandalwood and pink peppers to staple home the fact that this can get away with being an all seasons frag. good for your typical office job but advise against using it in a hot kitchen setting. layering the scent with nautica blue helped add a faint water smell, but by a little. it's a strong scent, good 6 to 8 hours longevity and decent sillage.

Perfume intrigante, fragrância que me fez ter um olhar diferente para a grife kenzo, no ótimo sentido. Ele abre cítrico e cremoso ao mesmo tempo, tem muita evolução na minha pele, de coração ele alterna entra algo mais adocicado e amadeirado e notas aquaticas a cítricas, fazendo esse combinação inusitada, mas que muito gostosa e diferente, após umas 2hrs e meia ele entra pras notas de fundo que o tornam quente, amendoado e cremoso! Na secagem as vezes lembra algo entre One million lucky e Versace eros, quase uma junção desses dois (((isso apenas na secagem)))

Presentation is most misleading one I have ever seen, pershaps because sea and beach associate me to summer. In Kenzo defense they did wrote notes on bottle in several languages. Whoever did blind buy would expect summer fresh notes like citrus, instead you get gourmand fragrance that is leaning for colder weather. First notes after spraying are really nice, pink pepper is fresher compared to black pepper, but still its not what people expect from "fresh". I really hope decision to put name Aqua is not because of EDT concentration.

Really weird advertising at first glance but when you really think about its use case it makes a bit more sense, at least to me. I pick up like almost a like coconut and tropical note which makes me think of a super sugary cocktail served by a shirtless bartender in a shack that is blasting Reggaeton at full volume. You can really pull it off in any warmer weather but to me it feels just right in summer late afternoon.

What a beautiful, woody/nutty/sweet fragrance. Unfortunately, this suffered from bad marketing: having "aqua" in the name but hardly appealing as an aquatic fragrance. This one is strong enough to work in all seasons. An under-appreciated gem of a hazelnut bomb. It does smell a lot like Paul Smith London, although it doesn't have coconut listed (but it smells like it).

Sweet summery nutty tonka and apple. Seems fresh and summery and it is! But also a bit sticky and indeed little aquatic. Also in terms of aquatic, it is present ... strange smell actually! Okay though. 83

Aqua Kenzo pour Homme Fresh Eau De Toilette Spray (100 ml)is much better than Aqua Kenzo edt. The scent is fresher and more pleasant. (Fragrantica has apparently forgotten to introduce this new fragrance)

I like it a lot, its nice and smells good. For me i dont think it has a very good perfomance but i keep the empty bottle around to smell it.

I really like this one however with all due respect to Kenzo whoever named this one 'Aqua' must've hit their head on something lol !! This reminds me of something, I mean in a BIG way, one of the extremely popular sweet designer scents. Without testing side by side perhaps it's JPG Ultra Male, Invictus Legend, Pure XS by Paco Rabanne (or maybe the Night flanker), Armani Code Absolu perhaps. Whichever it is, or even a combination of them, that gives you some idea as to what this is about. How on earth Fragrantica readers voted 'watery notes' as one of the key playes here I really don't know and makes me question whether they've smelled the fragrance or are just going by the (in my opinion) ironic name and presentation. I wonder if there will be a flanker to this named something like 'Hot amber oud' in a red bottle which will be an excellent freshie :P Scent: 8.5/10 Comedy value for the name not suiting the scent:10/10 All the people slating this fragrance yet no doubt praising similar popular designers which come in gold or dark bottles: 0/10

I wish I got the hazlenut bomb I read about in these reviews! Hopefully time will improve this fragrance as currently all I get is intensely aquatic pepper, broken flower stems, and a hint of bitter bergamot. It smells cheap and like a billion other unpleasant 'man' scents (that unpleasant men tend to wear). Will try it again in 6 months and update. Edit: 2 months later. Still kinda hate it on it's own, but layered with Affection by Lattafa this is actually really good! The intensity of the green and water notes along with the freshness of the apple and pepper, bring a really nice masculine balance to all the airy, lactonic sweetness of Affection. I'm even starting to get hazlenut and a bit of sesame come through wearing it like this! I am going to be wearing the hell out of this combo come spring. Edit: it's spring and I'm wearing the hell out of this combo. And AKpH finally has that sweet, nutty dry down when worn alone too!

Nice frag, top 40 pick but not a top 10. Great for everyday dumb reach when you want something kind of interesting. I would generalize this as a sweet and woody fragrance. I like that it can be used in the normal situations an aquatic can be, like work and out with friends but that the added heavier more gourmand notes allow for this to be fun and pleasant to be around on a date. There isn't a lot of development to this. It opens really nice and fruity. Some heaviness and thickness comes in from the hazelnut, tonka and vanilla...and then boom! tonka bomb. Another...$%#/ing... tonka bomb. For me and my collection, this is very very similar to Burberry brit rhythm and armani code colonia. While colonia is the most powerful, and rhythm is the most casual, this smells the best and performs really well. I had high expectations given the YouTube love and am not disappointed. I am glad I have it. Thanks team

I have a tester bottle that comes in a spray can that says Kenzo Aqua Kenzo Pour Homme Fresh Eau de Toilette 100ml. This one has all the notes listed, I guess, but the most prominent note is coconut... 🤔 And I am not the only one, it was the first both my wife and daughter said they could smell on me. I really like this, mostly because I love coconut as a note in a mens perfume. To me it’s a 50/50 blend between JPG Le Beau edt and Issey Miyakes Fusion d'Issey Extrême.

Upon first use it instantly reminded me of another fragrance I purchased recently, Rayhaan Jungle Vibe. These two share a lot of DNA, especially in terms of the middle and base notes with a lovely sandalwood dry-down. The hint of Hazelnut is what distinguishes it from Jungle Vibe. Not quite exceptional, but value for money considering the price I paid. More of a springtime than summer fragrance IMO.

Smells nice but could never replace 1 million lucky for me. It’s easy to wear but lacks the richness from Lucky that I really like. Once I run out I’ll just buy another backup bottle of Lucky instead.
