Jeu d'Amour

When I first tried Kenzo - Jeu d'Amour after receiving a sample, I really couldn't decide if I liked it or not - It almost seemed a little annoying. But as I used up the sample it grew on me and I bought a 30ml flacon feeling I would miss it once it was gone. Now just like onimoka, I think I should have bought a larger one! It is a smell I feel I "have" as well as "have not" smelled before. Familiar but unfamiliar at the same time. As it has grown on me I find it is predominantly a soft, warm and beautiful powdery tuberose scent which makes me feel beautiful, loved and desired, not blatantly sexy, rather a quiet sexual confidence. My husband likes it a lot which enhances my feelings towards Jeu d'Amour. To me it feels like "I love you - let's play" more than "game of love" It is not a statement perfume. In my opinion it seems appropriate for both the office and an intimate evening out. I wouldn't wear it to a rock concert or club though. I find the silage is good. If I leave my office I can smell the fragrance as I walk back in (we have an open door policy so the fragrance isn't trapped inside, it seems to be absorbed by the air around you). I think closetlikeboots' comment of it having a faint waft that follows you is spot on as I have noticed it in the passageway outside my office if I have only been away for a short while. Longevity is good, I can still smell it around me after getting home from work 12+ hours later. I haven't got any experience with Avon's perfumes so I can't compare the bottle design, to me it seems an elegant understated bottle, just like the perfume inside.

This is my favorite perfume for the warmer months. I think it's ladylike and youthful at the same time and suitable for all occasions. Very feminine with a hint of flirtyness. The main note is tuberose, which is my favorite floral. It's a fresh and clean one with a hint of creaminess, supported by freesia. A hint of bubblegum-sweetness is there, but not too much. The pomegranate is also quite prominent and gives a sparkling fruity twist. I wouldn't have thought of a blood mandarin note (I never even saw a blood mandarin in my life), but now that I know it's there, I think I can smell a bit of a blood orange note, too. I love that Jeu d'Amour stays fresh the whole time in a soft, non-screechy way. The base is musky and very soft, I find it perfect here. I usually like sweet and warm basenotes, but sometimes a cleaner, less sweet base is even better, and this is the case here. I'm glad they didn't use vanilla for this one. Sillage and lasting power are average and that's fine with me. I love it!

Amo esse perfume! Para mim é o cheiro de um romance. Chega a ser quase indescritível de tanto que gosto. Certamente percebo as notas florais por bastante tempo e na abertura me chama a atenção o toque de chá e uma nota cítrica bem leve. De uma forma ou de outra, a fragrância consegue ser reconfortante e ao mesmo tempo sensual, mas de forma calma. Gostaria apenas que durasse mais pois 4 a 5 horas não é ruim, mas eu adoraria que durasse umas horinhas a mais. I love this perfume! For me, it smells of romance. It's almost indescribable since I like it so much. I can certainly notice the floral notes for quite a while and in the opening the tea notes and blood orange do appear. One way or another, the fragrance manages to be both comforting and sensual, but in a calm way. I just wish it would last longer. Four or five hours isn't bad, but I would love it if it could last a couple of hours longer.

I love this. I have a big collection and I have had this on my wish list for a while. I finally tracked it down and got the biggest bottle I could. There are some days when I just want to smell nice and not be challenged by a fragrance. There is a really nice balance of lightly floral, sweet, fresh, fruity with a delicate creamy base and a touch of powder. Nothing sticks out too much and it makes me feel calm and happy.

Jeu d'Amour Kenzo is very feminine and light fragrance. The note i can hear the most is freesia. Lasting power is 4 hours on skin and app. 8 on cloth. I can feel very aromatic waves from time to time when i walk. Very good for the office, but its romantic and memorable as well. I have only bought 30 ml now thinking to buy a bigger bottle. It does reminds me of Laura by Laura Biagiotti, only this one i like better.

On my skin, pomegranate tames the tuberose completely. Usually tuberose strangles me, but in this scent it's polite and powdery. If I didn't know what the notes were, I'd say this smells like dried apricots - must be the sour juicy fruits on white florals that give that impression.

I got this perfume because of the use of pomegranate and it did not disappoint! The scent is there from beginning to end in my nose. I love this perfume, it's my current fave!!

Lovely light slightly sweet perfume. Ideal for day wear if you don't want anything too heavy. Sadly it doesn't last very long

This was a surprise. I've had a sample vial of Jeu d'Amour for some time now, but haven't really been drawn to try it until today, which I only did because it was in my bag and I didn't like the other vial I tried on this morning (Marc Jacobs Honey). The notes on the list on this page are not my usual thing. I'm not a big fan of florals, especially white florals, and I tend to be cautious with tuberose in particular. That said, I also am not very good at identifying individual floral notes (except rose, iris and violet, which it turns out I love in certain perfumes), so I couldn't imagine what this might smell like. Well, as it turns out, I am enjoying this perfume very much. The opening is fresh and juicy, which must be the fruit and tea notes. While quite pleasant, it was the drydown that really hooked me in. The early transition between opening and drydown was not particularly impressive, but the fragrance grew increasingly lovelier, until I later caught a lightly sweet and powdery, slightly musky scent that strongly reminded me of something. It took a while before I realized it reminded me of L'Occitane Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc, but even more beautiful. Comparing the notes, they only have musk in common, but reading up I learned that freesia is from the iris family, so I'm not sure if that is why they smell similar to me. Whatever it is, I am enjoying Jeu d'Amour even more than I do the L'Occitane fragrance, because while I like the latter's drydown, I get a waxy opening from it, which I could almost taste. The Kenzo fragrance only shares the delicately powdery drydown, except it is fuller and milkier, more delightful. Since I already have Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc, I'm not sure if a full bottle of Jeu d'Amour is worth seeking for me, despite my liking it more. It's not normally the kind of scent I reach for (indeed, I don't use Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc much), but it's nice to have for when the mood strikes or just to smell occasionally. I will at least use up this vial if I couldn't get a small decant.

I like this Jeu d'Amour. When I saw the bottle I thought: ok, here is yet another flanker, can't designers make anything new? Anyway I tried it and didn't regret. It's a lively floral with a zesty fruity opening and a long drydown in the vanillic musky modern way. Nothing new, good news. The opening is zesty but sweet, maybe because of the blood mandarine. It has an uplifting vibe and it reminds me of a very old fruity way: the '80s fruity scents. It's a slight different take compared to the endless fake fruit basket with only the berries variation of the last years. This put me in a good disposition for the rest. Not that this scent is the epithome of creativity and originality, but in the messy sea of mainstream it stands quite bright. The heart is floral or at least synthetical floral. I don't get the tuberose at all. Not in the way of the classic somptuous, carnal, warm and thick tuberose scents. It seems to me that many new perfumes features tuberose or gardenia, then they smell nothing like them and they are probably replacers. Like for strawberries, sandalwood and other materials. I guess few people get to smell real tuberose in a garden (and many would run away especially from some species!) so here it is the "new" tuberose. A fresher fake. Not too bad, at least it is nicely blended. Then comes the inevitable sweet musky base of our days, nice enough for about 2 hours, then it falls flat with that edge of bath products and bodysprays. This is a scent I could wear very easily and feel pretty, feminine, young and into the crowd, but with some distinction.

Kenzo Jeu d'Amour opens with juicy pomegranate and a hint of mandarin. The pomegranate wears off into a vague fruity nuance after about 30 minutes, and the whole stage is left to the tuberose to shine. The tuberose here has a slight buttery and milky texture. Along with a freshness lent from freesia, the tuberose feels relatively real, and doesn't get lost in a abstract fruity floral sweetness like some fragrances do. Granted, it smells mainstream, and far from being original or striking, but it's very nice and shows enough textures for me perceive it as a relatively true tuberose. The drydown after about 6 hours is a lily-vanilla base, with a slight suntan lotion vibe and a sort of powdered sugar mixed in, not uncommon to a few other fragrances in the same genre such as Lys Soleia and Baiser Volé Essence de Parfum, but it's just as lovely. The sillage is moderate and the longevity is around 10 hours. Jeu d'Amour is a bright, relatively authentic tuberose, with a sensuous white floral and vanilla drydown. If you're interested in a big tuberose, but at the same time not too difficult to wear, Jeu d'Amour could be a lovely option.

I received a sample of this fragrance along with a couple of purchases and never really gave it much thought. At New Year however, I left the family party early and went to my college city to celebrate with my friends and boyfriend. When I woke up the next morning I smelled of tobacco, spilled beer and had bags for days under my eyes, everything you don't want your family to see at family dinner. After a quick shower I realized I moved all my perfumes home for the holiday except this little one. it was light, flowery, sweet and velvety smooth and it seemed to go along perfect with the pancakes I made that morning before returning home to go to the family dinner. My boyfriend had a hangover and is very sensitive to smells but he even cuddled and I felt clean and elegant despite the serious lack of sleep. It's a great light fragrance and I will forever link it to me walking in flat boots and a black dress through the snow with a cold winter sun peeking through the clouds after a wonderful night.

Very nice opening I mean wow. Ince I get past that and let the other notes come through, it's a white floral. Proud know the type, the Jasmine, gardenia ..... etc. well, these go bitter in me sadly, this one hasn't yet but we'll see. It's very pretty, don't wear it with anything sweet or the sweetness will bring out the bitter, let it be, soft and floral. Similar to Michael by Michael kors Glam Jasmine by m kors Prada infusion de orange r but kenzo is prettier Prob modern muse by e Lauder There's a little handful I've had recently and they're all of this type and I sigh with annoyance even though I'd like to love them. It's very pretty but, if these sort generally go funny on your skin don't blind buy.

I often like what Daphne Bugey creates. This one likeable too even if created by two people. The fragrance reminds me about Amarige by Givenchy, in its heart notes mostly. It's something like an updated and changed Amarige, more modern. The base notes are sweet, almost caramel-like though, and Givenchy has definitely much better sillage on me. In fact, the fragrance has a good sillage in the first half an hour and then it decreases and decreases, to stay almost undetectable in the end. I'd expect more sillage, it's KENZO! Actually my favourite brand, I guess. The fragrance would suit a young woman, a woman in her middle age and elderly one too, not a very young teenager. It's sexy!

I consider this fragrance very beautiful and feminine and not ordinary...it is sweet but not in a heavy way...my partner doesn ́t like heavy fragrances on me, but this one he can stand...he even says it would fit me during spring or summer, even though I bought it as a winter/ fall fragrance...I am very curious about summer, I think it will change a bit its character. If you like sweeter and romantic fragrances, this is a good choice...not too heavy...it ́s romantic, princessy, warm... Sillage is quite good, but not too owerwhelming...it lasts 5 - 6 hours on my skin...on my sweater even on the other day:) p.s. EDT is loud and a bit soury, I don ́t like at all...

Lovely fragrance! Fresh, feminine, calm. A good choice for people looking for a sensual and minimalist spring scent. I am glad to have it in my collection. This perfume is a people pleaser with personality. I imagine a young woman drinking tea in Japan in the early morning hours when i smell it. She is serene, joyful, grateful, self-loving and confident. My nose detected tuberose (creamy and fresh), musk (gives the scent a subtle powdery touch) and pomegranate (soft fruity and a bit aquatic). If you want a scent that smell like peace and freshly cuted flowers, try Jeu d‘Amour. Final note: 8/10 Sillage: soft Longevity: moderate

I tried this yesterday and sprayed it on a card. Today, the scent's still very strong on the card, so I'd say it has quite good lasting power. This is a nice, but very 'safe' and mainstream fragrance. It's interesting to see that several other reviewers have mentioned a similarity between this and Avon perfumes, because as soon as I smelled it, the first thought that poppied into my head was 'this smells exactly like an Avon perfume' (although I couldn't say which one as it's been years since I tried any). So, not a unique fragrance by any means, but pleasant. I like it, but wouldn't buy it.

A true spring/summer scent. Fresh flowers with a hint of halfsweet fruits. Musk, Tea and Sandalwood in base. The tea-note fades out the sweetnes from the fruit in a good way. Fresh, flirty and chic. timeless - a scent for both the teenager and the elegant woman. On my skin it lasts about 5 hour. En sann vår/sommardoft. Fräscha blommor med en aning om halvsöta frukter. Musk, Te och Sandelträ i basen. Te-noten dämpar sötman på ett bra sätt. Fräsch, flirtig och chic. Tidlös - passar både tonåringen och den eleganta kvinnan. På min hud doftar den i ca 5 timmar.

It grows on you. I got it from my Mother who didn ́t like it. I first thought it was the most generic "smelled it before" perfume out there but found myself wearing it everyday and enjoying it. I feel that I am wearing something pink and warm. A bubbly woman ́s scent. Also a cover up your real emotions scent. Good for work. Update: It grows on you so much you end up buying it again and love smelling it. Compliment getter. Reminds me often of my beloved Michael from Michael Kors. Ultra feminine, lipsticky and charming.

Quite a strong and harsh opening but thankfully it quickly settles into a light and inoffensive scent. I am able to detect all the beautiful top notes before the warm tuberose makes its entrance and steals center stage. Feminine, a little playful, but in no way a silage monster. This perfume sits quite close to the skin. I don't see this as a fruity floral but rather a spicy (oriental) floral. I think its the tea note that adds the spicy feel. Overall a lovely scent for everyday wear and definitely office safe.

I had received many compliments wearing this. The sillage and longevity is good, you can walk into a room and a faint waft will follow you ( I've been told) as opposed to loud smack in the face. Generally it doesn't last long though after 2 hrs you won't be able to smell it on yourself, though others will. You can smell the pomegranate on first spritz then dries down to a warm, soft, hint of wood and lastly a fresh soapy smell. Though for me, Olympea has topped this.

Its a rather alluring smell to me! Im stuck between a wow and a not wow. Apparantly it doesnt smell good on me if i had not showered since morning and just spray it on my arm at night. Its got some kind of chemical plasticky scent mixed when smelled upclose. However after a nice shower and spraying this, the scent is so dreamy. The smell stays close to the skin, if the wind blew people around can totally smell it. And will wonder "wow what is this alluring smell?"

Clean fragrance, without too many frills, passe-partout, I could not place Jeu d'Amour properly in a specific or more suitable season than another. My skin radiates a scent that reminds me a bit of Pure Poison Dior, but I can be misled by the mandarin I perceive as the dominant note, a note of sunlight and positivity. It clearly falls between the fragrances I adore.

a pretty spring/summer floral but nothing spectacular, a bit acquatic and full of tuberose with some sharp freesia and musk and maybe a hint of pomegranate if someone tells you and you stretch your nose; the tuberose is in the top but it is sharp, powdery freesia in the base with some musk. I actually like the top, tolerate the mediocre middle, and love the base.

Reminiscent of one of J.Lo's perfumes at the opening and Pure DKNY at the base. Quite like it. Lasts well on my skin too. It's been on my wrist for about 6 hours and still going strong, which doesn't usually happen for me which is why I prefer spraying onto my clothes. It's nice and cosy, kind of like Pure by DKNY is cosy, if you know what I mean.

Kenzo hasn't lost it's niche in this one. It has that typical Kenzo feeling to it. It's a little powdery, spicy and elegant white floral. Warm, spicy and sexy. Also, I must say that I asbolutely love the marketing, everything about it! Definately one of the most interesting releases in 2014.

This is nice but somewhat generic. "I've smelled this before" was my first thought when I applied it. Reminds me somewhat of Tresor in Love even though the notes don't match up. It's fruity but also woody, which I like. Longevity and silage are moderate.

there is a new Version of this - L ́Elixir in a dark purple bottle - I got this and love it more than this and the EDT because of the warmth of Rum and Vanila base - perfect for cold winter! I ́m gonna svae this for the spring and the EDT for summer

Basically, this is Pure Poison by Dior with added pomegranate note. I love Pure Poison, but it has that sad note, something nostalgic, whereas this one is cheerful, positive, uplifting, happy. I love it just as I love Pure Poison.

Georgeous.It smells much cleaner white flowers from the beginning. When dry seems to have a soft vanilla. And finally freesia gives a special, clean and modern feel, which is hardly found in perfumes of white flowers.

It is not like Tresor. This is sweet but insipid. A hint if tuberose is at the beginning, overall this scent is really nice but this insipid factor does not letting me enjoying it. I dont like Jeu that much.

It's like Tresor EDT 2014, more powdery and more milky. What makes it more delicate. And seems to increase their age range.

Tuberose and pomegranate. Not bad for sure. Catchy, but not too catchy to buy it for myself. But I like it.

really strong freesia..and really sweet ..with long longevity

I just can’t truly enjoy this, and I’ve tried. With a 5ml mini, you can bet that I’ve tried. It’s just okay. A little citrus at the top, and pomegranate (not my favourite note), and then pretty tuberose for the rest. I don’t detect even a hint of sandalwood here. It’s safe, inoffensive and lasts well enough, but there isn’t a wow factor for me.

Tuberose? I must have gotten the one bottle that missed out on its dose of Tuberose - I happen to like it as a note in perfumery, and recognise it in its many forms, but Jeu d'Amour leaves me more than slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong - she's pretty enough, but lacks substance. She starts with an alcohol-laced Citrus burst courtesy of the Mandarin Orange and ends with a thin trail of Freesia for the remainder of her stay - inoffensive, but unremarkable. As mentioned by a few reviewers before me - I tried to enjoy this. Reminder why blind buys aren't always a good idea.

I wanted to try it since the notes sound really appealing, although to me this smells really syrupy actually the cough syrup sort. To be fair I only have tried it on a paper strip so it might get different on the skin. Anyway, I can understand why it is a popular fragrance I mean it is soft and uncommon I guess nothing that will put You off.

Takes a while for the initial blast of alcohol to dissipate. Sharp citrus followed quickly by tuberose which makes it a sweet and creamy heady floral, no fruit left. Stays like this a while, I’ll try to catch the drydown on this another day. Edit: didn’t like it enough to try.

Dissapointing. At first application this is divine. Juicy, moreish, not too sweet, and elegant. I found it enchanting. However whatever it is that makes it interesting wears off within 20 mins and leaves a generic soapy white floral. Shame

Strange scent, strong oriental and vibrating. I really can't define why I don't like it. Tuberose? Maybe. I have a problem with many tuberose scents and only very few of them have stolen my heart.

Just tuberose. Wich unfortunately turns my stomac despite the fact that I can see why it is popular. So hey...if you like tuberose give it a try!

Soapy, clean, slightly sterile due to the white florals used. Not unique enough to warrant a purchase.

too much sinthetyc White flowers and after five minutes one cheap floral woody base.

First when sprayed this perfume is quite sharp and strong, I feel mostly blood orange but I feel it mixed with some alcohol note, not the usual fresh citrus smell. I barely detect pomegranate and tea notes which is so disappointing because I really like them in a perfume. Freesia appears shortly after spraying and it stays till the end as well as the tuberose. Sandalwood appears in the base and it makes the scent a bit warmer and musk is barely noticeable too and it gives Jeu D'Amour kind of a soapy note. Freesia is the note I feel most intensely and if you're not into freesia skip this perfume. Jeu D'Amour is categorized as floral gourmet type of scent and I was curious to try it, but this is definitely not my type of scent. I would describe it as completely floral perfume that has a lot of freesia in, a bit tuberose and a tiny bit of sandalwood and blood orange, but it's not gourmet at all. I would definitely like this more if pomegranate and tea notes appear stronger but Jeu D'Amour for me is completely white floralish-floral type of scent. I don't like freesia and it irritates me in a perfume and here makes no exception – it's fresh but it's so sharp and it makes every perfume too retro smelling. I have to admit that Jeu D'Amour is nicely composed and creamy, fine and feminine scent but it's not for me. I think it would suit young women as well as mature women, basically every women that like white florals. As I said this perfume smells too retro for me. Longevity is high – it has strong sillage and projection and it stays on the hair & clothes. Pomegranate and tea notes are so rare to find in a perfume and I think it's a miss that instead of making them appear stronger Kenzo went for the boring combination of white florals and pretend this is a “floral-gourmet” which is funny because the only gourmet thing here is a tiny bit of blood orange right after spraying. If you're into freesia and white florals you'll probably like Jeu D'Amour.

In my opinion this stunning perfume doesn't get all the attention and recognition it deserves as a very particular composition that offers something new in a world of an ocean of scents. Jeu d'Amour is overshadowed by the popular line of Flower and its infinite flankers and isn't on the spotlight like the other Kenzos. However this perfume smells heavenly to me. I've been looking for a long time for a perfume that was fresh, woody, breezy, green and floral and this is the best example that suits the decription. It smells like springtime, like a wave of fresh, dewy flowers. The fragrance is very well balanced between the "bodiness" of tuberose, the freshness of freesia, the juicy pomegranate, and the sandalwood that contributes with the spicyness. Yes, it's a perfect scent for when you need to smell good but don't feel like wearing anything too heavy. Jeu d'Amour has an incontestable presence, is clean and is also a fragrance that makes you feel good and happy. Enjoy it.
