This one was very confusing. The ‘original’ and this one should be combined on Fragrantica, as I got in an argument with an EBay seller insisting they had sold me the wrong fragrance. For those wondering, It IS the original frag, but in a new bottle. This is according to Kenzo’s website. I had to do research to figure things out and BOY OH BOY did I eat crow with that EBay seller. On to the fragrance. It’s gorgeous! Fits in with Cool Water and Preferred Stock and Drakkar. Not that it smells like any of those, it smells like its own thing. But it has that 90’s aromatic/fougere vibe to it. I didn’t care for it at first spray, but that’s normal for me with older frags. It also doesn’t smell great when you smell directly from the skin. Smells best in wafts. Up close it VERY aftershave, which I still love. But in wafts, all of the harsh aftershave scent disappears and you just get a beautiful, fairly simple aquatic. I’m actually fascinated how it can smell like an entirely different fragrance when smelled at a distance. This, along with L’Eau Super Majeur D’Issey, is going to be one of my evening fragrances this summer! Concerts, bars, water parks, this is what I’ll be wearing! Already got a couple of compliments and I’ve only worn it twice! Not a safe blind buy, unless you like aftershave/barbershop styles! But I love it! And despite what many have said, I LOVE the new bottle design. I’m going to get the flankers in different sizes so I can have the art piece SET!

I will forever love this one soooo much. This smells exactly like my dad (whom I lost 10 years ago), but it surely couldn’t be the one he wore. Then Kenzo Pour Homme crossed my mind, but I unfortunately couldn’t find it anywhere in store to smell. Later I found out, that this is in fact the original version, in a new bottle. Since I'm fairly new to the perfume game, i can't really pinpoint notes and such, but i would describe it as a fresh, clean, and maybe aquatic scent, but with a unique twist towards the drydown. The twist being a sort of sour/citrus ish note, that i can't quite put my finger on. Of course my review is biased, since it holds such a massive sentimental value for me, but i tried to keep my votes reasonable. Longevity is okay, but i did wear it in the winter months with very cold weather, and now (8 hours in) it's a VERY subtle skinscent. Sillage is also okay. You will not get noticed from across the room, but you'll get a compliment when hugged. It's a more masculine than feminine fragrance. FOR ME the price value is great! I got the 40Ml for like 45 EUR / 50 USD. If you can find it discounted, I'd def recommend but I can't promise that it fits everybody’s taste. For me a 10/10 Objectively a 7-8/10

The old Kenzo edt issue was a very good fragrance that I will always have nostalgic moments associated with. When I tried the old stump for the first time, I experienced a wow effect. This bright coniferous-sea freshness was simply exciting. As for me, this new version is not very similar to the old release. Still , there are only echoes . There are fewer notes, and the components are more modern, such as calypson and synthetic sandalwood. The fragrance has become an absolute unisex, even more feminine. Nevertheless, I still give him the highest grade. At least for curtsying towards the great classics. The fragrance is distinctive and stands out from the galaxy of similar modern care scents.

I think this fragrance is truly underrated. It offers a well-blended mix of woody, green, aquatic, and floral notes (but not in a feminine way). There are plenty of "blue" and "green" fragrances on the market, but the combination of woody, green, and sea-like scents is very unique. While some might call it "old," I prefer the term "vintage." Its performance is impressive, especially compared to many summer fragrances, which often lack sillage and longevity. It has a cool vibe, making it perfect for high heat. My girlfriend even commented, saying, "You smell so clean, like you just took a shower!" perpect 10/10 frag

I love Kenzo fragrances because they are mostly the kind of fresh I look for. Not so citrus, not so watery, and not so sweet. Just fresh. Taking away my personal taste, this fragrance is honestly one of the most pleasant smells I felt, green and watery at the same time? Incredible. Tomorrow, I will buy my second 40ml bottle. The feeling of cleanliness of this fragrance is almost incomparable. What a beauty of perfume this is. Smell: 9.3/10. Beautiful. Projection: 8.3/10. Durability: 8.4/10. Final note: 8.9/10. Amazing, safe bloynd boy.

I am utterly confused by this fragrance. If there’s one thing I smell the most with it, it’s flowers, specifically frangipani or plumeria, and I’m not sure if that specifically is what’s getting people hooked on this frag. It smells so much like a walk through a resort to me. The wood is a lovely backdrop to the brightness of the fragrance, and I can’t help but feel... relaxed with it on. It dries down much more ostensibly masculine and a little bit old fashioned, and the longevity is better than I expected. Quite nice!

If you grew up in the 90’s you probably remember that scent , it used to be very popular back then. This one, is an excellent upgrade to the smell and the bottle, the ‘sea water’ element in this been emphasized , and it’s got a very unique ocean like smell , it’s not something usual and not for every nose, but for those who can rock it, you’ll draw a lot of attention and compliments. Good performance for an EDT especially when sprayed on the clothes . Wear it on a summer evening to bring the ocean breeze with you

I luckily recieved a legit bottle from Jomoshop; so I smell no cat piss whatsoever. It's unique, a little weird, fresh, and pleasant. It makes you stand out from all the other Ambroxide-heavy summer scents, with a mature, fresh, woody aroma that may or may not get you compliments, but it will make you feel classy.

I really love this. I think it is a perfect replacement of the OG 1991. The vibes and the performance reminds me, when I used the OG one during the mid-late 2000s. If you like that scant, don't hesitate to buy this. Fully recommended.

This new bottle design is just ugly and very cheap. However, the fragrance itself is my absolute favorite fragrance and has been for over 20 years!

This is the original in a new bottle - and it still smells amazing!

So, I have not smelled the original. But it's very interesting symphony of notes. Unfortunately, my grandma that is now long gone, had almost exactly the same smell as toilette freshner, so that is what came to my mind. I have not read the notes before smelling, I just expected something oceanic. After 20 minutes of smelling I could start identifying notes. None of these are obvious or sticking out, but I first noticed that Ylang-Ylang is quite prominent after you identify it and faint Calypsone gives the perfume a hint of melon bubble-gum smell. After reading the notes, Yes the nutmeg is noticable in the notes and also woody notes that combine with the ylang ylang into very creamy woods. The drydown is different. Fruity warm and inviting, featuring cozy and comforting peach-mango combination. Now... I don't think I would actually wear it since it reminds me of what toilette freshner in the middle. However if you are interested in the notes I mentioned, definitely check this out, it's very interesting and unique among today's sea of blue fragrances. Review context: Spring 19:00, 19°C, 86% humidity. (Amber Oud Bleu Edition on my other hand, might affect the character of the smell, but I didn't percieve it)

This is very much like the OG 90s KENZO Pour Homme. I’d say like 90-95% the same....?! I was hoping a more interesting version of that 90s KENZO Pour Homme with the Calypsone note, especially because I bought the ‘22 KENZO Homme EDT Intense first that I love. Kind of let me down because I don’t get the calypsone or any sweet fruity nuance that is listed. So this is just almost 100% the same with that 90s KENZO Pour Homme. To make it sure, I even ordered a decant sample of 90s KENZO Pour Homme, and yes they smell identical. That can be good for you guys who love that DNA, but for me, I’m not a big fan of that 90s KENZO Pour Homme. I tried and tried many times to like it but I just can’t. So still, the EDT Intense is way better. Blue aquatic without being generic. Pleasant, without being boring. Or, get the EDP version if you want a similar nuance with EDT Intense but much deeper, stronger, and denser to wear in the night. Been keeping my eyes on the Marine version, but it’s still unavailable yet in where I live. Hopefully it won’t let me down like the EDT version did. EDT 7/10 EDT Intense 9/10 EDP 9/10

Floral, "Oriental," and aquatic. Opens with aldehydes, very floral and green. Airy, slightly marine like and earthy. Quite musty from the off. Waxy, soapy with a faint honeyed note. Maybe some grassy notes, faint tobacco? Then becomes "papery," possibly some iris? Gets more soapy. Has a note in the drydown that off my skin smells a bit like smoky bacon? (I don't mind it though.) Smells a lot better in the air than directly off the skin. Overall smells very natural and like a cross between a green house in a botanical garden and beach pebbles at low tide. I feel this is unisex. Would work all year but more of a day scent. Maybe slightly mature, ages 25+. Performance is great; very powerful projection which lasts for hours. As a soapy, floral skin scent, it lasts 8hrs+ Would definitely try before you purchase, it's unique and has a throwback feel. It's also a little dour at times. Overall I like it though, smells like a Japanese spa, or Onsen.

New version still has the same DNA as previous versions, but maybe a little bit modernized? I remember when few years ago I have been testing this fragrance and I remember that it was much more woody. Of course this new version is still very salty, marine, oceanic scent to the point it leaves a taste of salt in my mouth when I smell it. Deep blue waves are sill in my imagination, cold breeze is blowing on my face. I want to also mention three others from the series by Quentin Bisch. I think they are great, beautiful perfumes, but akigalawood is making me sick. I can’t stand personally DNA of his perfumes: Bois Imperial, new Kenzo Homme EDP, Intense, Marine, Ganymede etc. I don’t know how he created this accord, but for me it’s waaay too peppery and harsh. Nonetheless I think it’s a good thing that Kenzo is much more brave in launching original and good quality perfumes.

Kenzo's nomenclature has been extremely confusing lately, so: This is the original Kenzo pour Homme from 1991 in a new bottle. It probably has been reformulated a few times since its original release but it's still essentially the same fragrance. Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum (2016), Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum (2022), and Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense (2021) are all very different and barely related.

For 95% the same as I remember the original was some 30 years ago. Maybe just a bit sweeter and fresher. That having said, it’s still a very pleasant fresh option for spring and summerdays. Great sillage and longevity, just as the original, and very recognizable. Great new bottle also, but it resembles bamboo, while that’s not listed or recognizable.

Picked this up after hearing about it on the YouTubes and it’s ok so far. My first impression during the opening was Rave Super Hold hair spray. My mom used this when I was a child and the opening really brought memories back. The dry down is better and I haven’t decided yet how I feel about it yet.

Michau, good question. I guess it wil not be discontinued because its a classic and probably their best seller till this day but this has the same name, indeed. And the piramid note is different so, i dont know what Kenzo are thinking with this release...

it does smell classic and kinda between modern and vintage. right amount of saltiness and good longevity tho.

The lightened version of Kenzo Homme INTENSE reduced by 30%, suitable for summer use, refreshing.

Not safe blind buy. Some ppl will not like it but for me It’s a classic good fragrance

Whoa! this is one laundry fresh clean scent ! If I never saw the notes and genre of this fragrance prior to blind buying this and somebody asked me to describe it I would say that's gotta be Floral (Aldehyde) dead set ! And its pretty obvious they've added synthtic floral and aldehyde notes in here. So to those considering blind buying this I wouldn't go by what the notes and genre are here, I definetely don't get Woody (Aquatic) or the notes listed for the matter, perhaps that was the intention or could even be the case the notes simply got lost and drowned out by all the other synthetics added in. Try before you buy with this one. It's a bit of a unisex frag too, so if your girlfriend is a bit of a clean freak she'll love it.

I have tried it three times, spraying it on my neck, wrist and paper stripe. I think this is only some joke... Actually there is no any character, it is like water only. Some strange tart-like scent can be felt very weakly at the first three minutes. Then everything disappears. My nose is not perfect, maybe a litle blunt, I can confess it. But neither my 11 year old daughters felt anything. And in the meantime the original Kenzo Homme EDT version is almost totally unavailable here in Hungary. I do not know what happens. I wonder what the other Kenzo fans will say about this fragrance.

What is this ffs ? The opening smells like a smelly dirty bus station even tho later it driesdown into beautiful pleasant smell i don't think i can actually take the opening.

I accidentally ordered this instead of the EdT Intense. It’s ok. It smells to me like a soapy dude fresh out of the shower in 1998. I’m not inspired. Eh.

Has the Kenzo hairspray opening. Interesting clean scent after. Very similar if not identical to the original.

Kenzo EDT The OG. What can I say? I've had the opportunity to smell the original OG, as opposed to this one. Quick plug that one is way better than this version. While I must give this OG its props it is my least favorite in the line. It took a while for my nose to open up to it. It has its place among its peers but not as unique as its flankers. KH EDT opens up with this slightly sweet sea breeze that almost comes across like baby wipes, and unfortunately, that smell lingers quite a while. Though salt and calypsone are mentioned it's not the notes that are detected. This smells in my opinion like Johnson’s Baby Lotion (Pink Bottle) Price Point 10/10 Performance 8/10 Projection 7/10 (1-3 hrs of solid projection on skin) Longevity 10/10 (8-9hrs) Enjoy

This version is quite lame compared to the first launched. No more Kenzo character found in this new version, just like another mass perfume

I really wanted to say that Id enjoy Kenzo EDT as much as I had loved Quinton Bisches Masterpiece in Kenzo EDP but after 2 months of owning the EDT I can confidently say this is a solid "No" for me Unfortunately the Floralzone musk used here has been used in dozens of cleaning and bathroom products, and on my very first spray I wasn't pleased over the fact that I smelt like a straight up urinal cake I understand that this is the remake of the original but I'm willing to guess that most cleaning projects didn't smell like Kenzo homme when it first released. After about 3 hours of drydown the bathroom Cleaning spray scent subsides and leaves a nice clean laundry smell behind Uniqueness/memorability 4/10 Longevity 6/10 Silliage 5/10 Overall 5/10

Oh man, this is indeed pretty awful! I have a couple of fragrances that give of hints of urine on an urinal cake, like the classics Boss No.1 and Giorgio for Men. With both fragrances it is the honey that is responsible for this association and with Boss No.1 that realisation is enough to mute the urinal cake association for the biggest part. With the Giorgio it is not enough (my bottle have had its final purpose as a toilet freshener). This Kenzo is worse than the Giorgio. The smell is very different, but the association with bodily fluid and urinal blocks is even stronger. No, I cannot recommend this fragrance. A pretty bottle though.

I'm not a hater but this is one of the very few that gets a hard no! To girlfriend and I both found it to smell like acetone. (Think nail salon nail polish remover) Returned it

Smells like an old lady from the middle east.

While I generally like this one as a complex green aquatic fragrance, that Calypsone note makes it kind of weird. That might be causing all the hate in the comments. If only this didn't have that, and instead had something else more uplifting like a ginger note or even a note of gin. I'm guessing the EDT Intense and Marine versions are superior to this, but haven't tried them yet. The EDP is in another category, as it's a leathery aquatic. Update: Came back to this after a few months, and now feel that this does harken back to an earlier time. It does feel more vintage to my nose and memory than the initial testing I did. However, it's nowhere near as complex and masterful as the original from 1991. This is an attempt to do that, but falls short. I don't understand the comments here saying this smells like urine? Like Kenzo, or any designer, would approve and release something that smells like piss? That's just the notes which Bisch is trying to get this to smell like the 1991 original, with a modern twist. People who know the original can see that. People who are comparing this to Invictus cannot. Unless your piss smells like pine-scented calypsone.

🫶🫶🫶 Very, very similar to the original from 1991. Bought this new version last week, inmediately after trying it. Kenzo homme is of the few great classic aquatics that are still in good shape. In my opinion -the best one of the entire Kenzo homme line. I dont care for the other ones, except maybe for the very pretty "indigo" version which is an iris and leather scent, then aquatic. You have to get past the synthetic opening to understand the original Kenzo homme. Only then and once the fragrance has completely settled, you are rewarded with a very clean and enigmatic blue green fresh water scent (not oceanic) that envelops you in a cloud of calm and serenity. This remake is a rare example of reformulation done right, since the soul and character of the original idea remain intact. I could literally bathe in this.

I didn’t get this fragrance at first and I was just going to sum it up to a bad purchase but guess what it smells better in the air than up close. It’s nothing really other than a clean watery perfume but as others have mentioned this thing is going to take on a different feeling in hot humid weather. I believe weather will make the smell more intense and interesting.

Try wearing it on the day following a rainy day. As others have said it really shines in certain atmospheric air conditions. I learned from PDM Kalan that it's best to wear challenging fragrances when you have a busy day that keeps you occupied. At the end of the day you will have a better perspective between initial mid and dry down profile.

I'm enjoying this one. It smells similar to Kenzo Pour Homme in the older bottle but this smells MUCH better. It's unique, a little weird, fresh, and pleasant. I am glad Kenzo decided to reimagine this one. It still holds its own in the plethora and diversity of fragrences today.

I wonder if this will be a less spicy and pickle-centric version of the recent 'intense'? If it is I think I'd like it....a lot.....'Intense' was nice but was way too spicy and eventually gave a pickles vibe, which I hated.

Smells like something I'm familiar with I just can't pinpoint it. I will say it's a big disappointment for me. Smells too feminine. Performance is meh. Can't recommend to even waste your time sampling it

I join the crowd. The cat piss is there somewhere, beware. This perfume is only good to attract old cat loving ladies. Even if you can like the lady, it would still be difficult to like the perfume.
