Kenzo Jungle Homme Eau de Toilette

Finally! I very much love the stunning fragrance but always disliked the sturdy, difficult to handle bottle. Now this new 75ml version is perfect, same juice in a handy, elegant bottle! Bravo!

I’m reviewing a 50ml bottle with the older style packaging, ie, “Kenzo Jungle Pour Homme” written inside the green box in the centre. Make no mistake, this comes from a time when fragrances were intentionally designed as works of olfactory art to be sprayed, truly taken in, and savored. Things have sadly gone downhill since, with the current climate of churning out as many bubblegum, sugary elixir flankers as possible each financial quarter to feed the drooling social media algorithm-addicted basics who buy whatever influencers tell them to buy. This? Fragrances with this much pre-conceived thought, focus, and vision feel completely alien in 2025. Like they were created on an entirely different planet. Designer houses took creative risks back then. Putting trends aside, there is absolutely no way this fragrance would ever make it past the focus panel/product/marketing approval stages in the current landscape we find ourselves in. Because no one has the balls to take creative risks anymore. The slight animalic funk coming from the mate note that hovers in the background gives this a “carnality”. Really earthy and human. Smells like making love to a woman on the packed, dry earth of the Serengeti savanna under a clear, moonlit sky next to a guaiac wood (palo santo) crate filled with limes and jars of spices. This is citrusy, earthy, woody, sweet, sour, and spicy all at once with a slight “sweat” type of accord humming in the background but I mean that in a very good way. Maybe there's also some dried Zebra dung funking away in the distance for added measured haha. Longevity/performance, even on my older bottle, is not the greatest. But overspray this bad boy, enjoy the ride, then smile once it’s over. Knowing you’re always only ever one spray away from returning to that far-flung African trading post on the savanna. I bless the rains down in Africa. 8/10

Now this is a pleasant surprise! Maybe they'll bring back Air or Power next?
