L'Eau Ambrée

I would like to say that Leau Ambree is actually wonderful, it resembles a lot of things but has a uniqueness and doesn't have the coconut note that all similar scents have which is super refreshing. Familiar but still new and different. A combination that really suits me personally. Edit - At first, I didn't notice that marine note, but now I can smell it. A lovely combination, like a blend of gourmand and fresh marine tones. The immortelle gives it an unusual twist. Very good. Longevity is great.

Surprisingly good. It smells very designer, bit it's very well crafted and I can't stop smelling myself. Pretty unisex for me too.

Searching for water in a desert of ambery vanillla. The fig milk(?), ylang ylang AND the Tahitian vanilla overpower the waterey notes. The amber dry down becomes very powdery and soapy. It actually made me sneeze. It reminds me of CK Obsession in the bombastic 90’s way of big fragrances. Might be a big hit with fig note lovers, might be very nice in colder weather, but right now, this is a no for me.

Tried a sample. The scent combination feels quite unique, but there's something about it that makes it difficult for me to figure it out or find its golden thread. It feels as if it was created like a fruit salad: a number of random accords tossed into a bowl. A fruit salad not even limited to fruits, but all kinds of random foodstuffs. The accords don't really blend. They don't exactly fight each other, but do not complement each other either. Each just keeps doing their own thing, nevermind the others. The whole does not become greater than the sum of its parts. The result is not exactly disgusting, but not a homerun either. I would have sent this back to the development lab, telling it is not ready yet. The performance seems quite modest, too. There is a possibility that it simply requires more than one try to "get it", but since the sample was packed in a disposable little bag instead of a tube, Kenzo doesn't really offer me a chance to change my mind.

A very multidirectional fragrance, but not in a good way. Blue L'Eau works for me because it is honest about what it is. This one has me wondering what it is trying to be. Gourmand and marine? It's more gourmand, because there is very little marine character that comes through. It's a pity, because I love ylang-ylang and yellow florals, and I was curious to see how they would be integrated into a fresh aquatic profile. Unfortunately, I wouldn't wear this. Each individual note is pleasant enough on its own, but together they form a confusing composition. It reminds me of a "perfume perfume" — a collection of agreeable notes assembled without a clear identity or direction. I don't enjoy fragrances that are this indecisive. I appreciate scents that stand firmly in what they are and express their character with confidence, even when they are styles I wouldn't personally choose to wear. The combination of benzoin, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and the synthetic accords is way too dominant that any aquatic or marine facets are pushed into the background. Marine compositions require a lighter, more delicate framework to create space for freshness and transparency. That framework is missing here, which leaves the fragrance feeling heavy, unfocused, and at odds with its aquatic ambitions. Edit: After a few days, the sample still holds strong with only partial fade from the paper. So if you happen to like this scent, you will be pleased with the longevity. It's much longer than L'Eau Pure. I still don't like it very much, but I'm reporting objectively for those who will.

When it hits discounters this may be a good option for a solar-fig fragrance with some spicy resins. Familiar backbone of ylang-fig-sandalwood-benzoin that will remind you several fragrances as a whole or in parts. VC&A - Santal Blanc mixed with Ferragamo Pour Homme or recent Tom Ford - Figue Erotique as an example. You might get flashes from Kenzo Pour Homme EDT, BDK - Gris Charnel, Matiere Premiere - Parisian Musc etc. Overall, a very pleasant summer fig, unisex leaning to feminine due to ylang ylang but not without clove-like spicy accents blended in. The original L'eau Pure is indeed a more original blend and definitely unisex IMO, has more transitions and nuances but this here is not bad at all either.

One of the most unique fragrances I’ve smelt in a while. Warm but not heavy on the vanilla, the warmth comes from the ambroxan and sandalwood. I definitely pick up on the marine notes which make it even more special imo. The fig milk and yang ylang provide a beautiful creamy opening. Great longevity. 10/10

It's pretty vanilla forward almost in a gourmand kind of way. Smells similar to Versace Born in Roma if it was a vanilla version of it. It's very sweet, synthetic and cloying. Absolutely a no from me. However I can see younger guys enjoying this, especially if they like vanilic fragrances.

The blue version is way better! Reminds me of Givenchy Pi.
