Totem Orange

Silly 80's Revived (Nathalie Gracia-Cetto & Olivier Pescheux, 2015) Bottle Design: Nendo Scentrack: Taylor Dayne - Tell It To My Heart In my opinion the best from the Totem line. Pure, original, unrestrained 80's in the bottle. Absolutely energetic to the limit. Vivid explosion of synthetic kitsch. Orange, mango, apricot, tropical-flavored chewing gum. A hybrid entity between fragrance and shower gel, for urban tribe. Unreal fragrance time machine. Yes I confess, I really like this silly perfume. Rating: 7/10

Orange Totem is a Kenzo "ZESTY" approach to what should be an ultra-fresh scent with a Hermes vibe somewhere between Terre and Jardin en Mediterranée. It opens very strong with bitter orange followed by vetiver. And then ... slowly the orange disappears and the vetiver doesn't stay much longer either. A short, mild drydown is left with some wood and residual vetiver. Advisable only for those who don't care about fast use perfumes. But for those who like a good blending of bitter orange and vetiver, the first half hour is great and attracts a lot of attention. Helas the flask is somewhat strange to say the least.

I like it. It's a fruity and woody fragrance. Quite masculine as it is unisex scent. But still, masculine in a nice way. The only downside is, it's too ordinary. Nice, but that's it. No x factor. But it's good and worth a try. Nice everyday scent. :)

I mean it's fine, it's just a little too pungently sour.

Tested this on skin today: Opens with a lovely bitter orange. Soon this note is joined by sweet floral notes. It is warm and a bit creamy. Then, the bitter orange starts to fade away and the woody notes appear in the shape of iso-e-super. The drydown is a sweet iso-e-super with white floral notes on top. Sillage is moderate, longevity moderate. The opening is lovely, a warm citrus and bitter orange, absolutely awesome. For the first two hours it reminded me of Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria line, especially the texture of the scent in combination with the happy floral notes. The drydown however contains too much iso-e-super for my taste. I don't get any vetiver at all. It is a light scent, fit for summer I think.
