Biscotti Caramel Pop

Yeah this is my favourite scent of all time on a female, no cap. This is delicious man. The Mrs has this, I have date toffee... we both adore them. Smells edible 100%, buttery salty sweet caramel with nuttiness in the deeper notes that reminds you of popcorn. I get much more of that buttery salted caramel goodness but honestly it's incredible. It was a Christmas present but I gave her it early just to smell it more.😂 This and date toffee man, 100% backup bottle worthy. I wanna grab 3 of each theyre so f***ing good. Khadlaj, never ever discontinue this range I beg you😂💯 Incredible stuff. Came back to add, she's had compliments at work etc on this stuff! It's a hit. Idk how someone couldn't love this

Once again, I pounced on it as soon as I saw this fragrance appear in the 'new' section. And once again, Khadlaj DE-LI-VERS! Straight out of the box Biscotti Caramel Pop smells absolutely delicious - like photorealistic caramel popcorn. Yes some people will take offense and say it smells like feet or cat/dog paws but I don't care I wanted to smell that smell and I am dizzy from all the sniffing. I cannot fathom how good it's going to be after a few months of maceration. If you were looking for a true popcorn scent, run don't walk, this is the real deal, not like a weak attempt at it like Aquolina Pop Lovers.

Its so delicious with buttery popcorn caramel. It also smells like flowers in the drydown but they’re not in the notes.

Okay so I come to the conclusion that companies just recycle older scents and just add a bit of a twist to them, like they tweak the formula a bit. A ton of new perfumes I got lately smell like hybrids of past scents that were popular. An initial quick sugar blast of vanilla biscuit scent (like a baked goods bbw body mist) and then the opening quickly smells like a waxy Nutella with a bit of vanilla biscuit - makes sense since there's chestnut, chocolate, brown sugar and vanilla with butter. Chestnut might be just a tad deeper than the woody hazelnut. The nutty effect is subtle tho. Perhaps the butter gives the waxy element (not greasy and off-putting). So the opening is a bit like DUA's Caramelized Hazelnut Dipped in Chocolate (which stays nutty and chocolatey - reaaaally good). I get a hint of a salty effect kinda like popcorn which sometimes smells like cardboard paper to me, but here it doesn't (DUA's Oh Damn smells like cardboard at first but with maceration the popcorn note improved - its notes are these for reference: Chocolate, Hazelnut, Popcorn, Honey, Caramel, White Chocolate, & Vanilla. Then it smells like vanilla Cocoa butter, no popcorn 😭). The popcorn here is too subtle for my taste cuz I wanted more of that. Yes I'm here for greasy salty caramel popcorn. The best most realistic popcorn note I've found is in Rabanne Pure XS, funny cuz there's a floral fruit salad of notes in there with coconut and yet the popcorn is so salty and realistic, savory, delicious. Heck Shakira Pop Rock has more of a realistic salty pop corn scent throughout by the salty pear, no popcorn note, but it's quite obnoxious there to me being high pitched - is this also why it's called POP Rock? Lol. Okay the drydown comes quickly and it's no longer gourmand on me. The bakes goods scent is pretty much gone gradually. The chocolatey Nutella scent is not so present anymore, just in the background giving space to a sugary floral-fruity subtly citrusy vanilla scent. This has so much benzoin at the heart that the whole perfume smells like sugared fruity-floral-vanilla. It smells so different compared to the "baked goods" warm nutty buttery-waxy chocolatey biscuit scent of the opening. Usually benzoin has a resinous ambery nutty effect for me in perfumes which I like and as a note it's powdery with a faint floral effect so it explains it. So this scent essentially is identical to Rihanna Riri the pink one, with the siam benzoin, vanilla and the usual celebrity scent floral- fruit salad (I loved Riri). Maybe the rum in Riri and the chocolate-brown sugar here create a similar effect aside from the benzoin vanilla overload, who knows. Had to declutter Riri cuz it went dusty stale after having it for 10 yrs. So I ain't mad that this ends up smelling just like Riri but with that buttery biscuit chocolate scent in the opening. It also becomes powdery after hours. It's very potent and projects well, it can be distracting. They're both balsamic btw so this at the drydown has a nice sugared balsamic essence. At the drydown this has a high pitched sweet sour fruity nuance as if there's a tart note or mandarin as in Riri. It must be the butter oxidizing that turns sour but it's not obnoxious ambroxan-like to be like the sour waxy Yara league. The chocolate scent is completely gone for the remainder of the scent journey. Some folks say that Minya Caramel Dulce has more of the popcorn. I might try that one too.

Ooooooh yesh. I might pick this one up before "Sticky Dates" if the price is right....

My journey with Khadlaj's Biscotti Caramel Pop (BCP) has been an absolute delight, as this fragrance masterfully encapsulates the essence of gourmand indulgence. However, Khadlaj can improve the box packaging of these 3 releases, especially the design of the internal holding paper/card - bottle does not stand fully vertical in the box. BCP has proven to be a remarkable discovery, offering a delightful and affordable alternative to its more expensive counterpart. With its enticing blend of creamy and delightful gourmand accords (and so do many other Khadlaj's gourmand range) and impressive performance, BCP has become a cherished addition to my collection and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious scent at an unbeatable value.

24hr Review: Bias: Khadlaj is my favourite perfume house. Okay this is a well balanced butter popcorn caramel scent. The popcorn is not overwhelming. The nuttiness comes out midway. It was like a surprise. Approaching the set down is a smooth vanilla and caramel. Star notes are popcorn as it is made well in this scent. Next star is the chestnut as I wasn’t expecting it. Nice surprise. Another well made scent from Khadlaj. I can’t compare to Minya Dulce as I didn’t purchase that release. The entire Biscotti collection is amazing, especially Biscotti Melon Musk. This is in the family of Navitas Melon Kiss!!!

Buttery popcorn with minimal caramel. The popcorn accord isn’t high quality though to my nose, and smells muted and indistinct. Paris Corner Molten Caramel is a much better take on popcorn with a higher quality popcorn accord, and also has a more noticeable caramel accord. At least to my nose. They’re not redundant to each other, so if you happen to like this one, you can still go for the Paris Corner. The Paris Corner is compared to SDJ Cheirosa 71, but it’s distinctly different because it distinctly smells likes caramel popcorn, unlike the SDJ.

If you own Minya this one is redundant. If you own Biscoff, you won’t need Minya. Don’t do what I did and run out to buy them both. They are indistinguishable from each other. However, they are both beautiful scents; biscuitty, nutty and popcorny. Maybe the chestnut is a touch more prevalent in Minya but that’s about it. I guess go for the cheapest if you have to decide!
