Dulcet No. 06

An incensy gourmand. Starts off creamy and syrupy, and gently drys down to a beautiful slightly smoky and green vanilla. I am surprised there isn’t a base patchouli note listed. Really lovely!

bought this and it’s honestly a dream, very creamy which is what i love in a scent. Longevity is great too.

I am rarely worn down by ads, especially for perfume, but the framing of the scent as a gentle, cozy gourmand with Japanese flair wore me down. I'm easily influenced by houses with Asian inspiration, since they tend to be lighter wearing. This *is* the case with Dulcet! This opens with a moderately sweet and warm brown sugar and milky vanilla with a tiny touch of tea and citrus. It has a starchiness to it that vaguely reminds me of White Rice. My partner interpreted it as something bakery-like at first. In the dry down, I was surprised that the gourmand vibes and creaminess dial back a *lot* and reveal a much more tea-forward heart where the citrus is a little more prevalent. Personally, I struggle with tea scents, so this initially disappointed me - I really loved that creamy, warm opening! But as I sat with it and became a little more familiar with it, I came to appreciate the tea more than others I've tried. If I could *choose,* I would prefer that the initial warm, creamy opening would stick around, but I'm happy enough with it. I don't think the florals or woods are particularly prevalent. This was initially a love that turned into a like in the drydown. I want to get to know this one a little better, so it will be staying with me for a bit. I'm very curious if it develops to be more vanilla-forward with time. Coming from a lightweight scent fanatic, I will say that this is pretty light. This suits me, but I'll warn folks to not expect huge sillage from this. I would say it is closer to a gourmand-leaning, tea-based skin scent. Skin performance was not stellar, but on clothing, it lasted me most of my day. If you love intimate-wearing tea scents with a sweet-gourmand tilt, this one's for you. The free returns if the sample doesn't work for you also helped me to make the leap to order this, but I will say that the sample was a little bit paltry given how light the scent is. I don't think I'll get 2 full wears out of it. Note: I did have to pay about $16 in import fees to the US.

I did not find this to be gourmand at all.....but I am not sad. This is about as gourmand as Crush on Me is.....blending gourmand notes with citrus and spice and arriving at something totally different. This is a smoky and green fragrance, almost fougere. I could have sworn there was patchouli in this....it is almost spicy vanilla. This is an elevated green fragrance with vanilla touches. I think in summer this is better for evening. This is not a sweet gourmand edible scent. The vanilla and edible backdrop creates richness that focuses in on the warm notes. I do think this is nice and I think of a white classy suit or dress on a summer evening at twilight. Dapples of warm light flickering on the water. Somewhat earthy and comforting. Totally unisex.

Opening smells of milky carmel, almost Bianco Latte style, with minimal tea coming though. As it dries down, sandalwood and a resinous note rise up and gives a masculine tilt. I don’t like sticky sweet scents and this gives me the impression of taffy at first, sweet and dense, and then heads into a non-gourmond vanillic sandalwood drydown. I actually prefer the drydown to the opening. You’d have to love both sweet/gourmand and also masculine-leaning (sandalwood prominent) scents to love this one.
