Santal

If you don’t like sandalwood, like me, don’t let the name put you off. This is primarily a leather fragrance. It’s not heavy the way some leather fragrances can be and it doesn’t veer into “car interior” territory. This is the smooth scent of walking into a shop full of quality, luxury leather goods. And there’s something light and fresh about it. If you enjoy leather-forward fragrances, you should get your nose on this one. The animalics don’t come out until a while later; this is a non-linear fragrance. But they’re subtle and smooth, very nicely done, and I think make this leather fragrance that much more interesting. As with all of Kintsugi's fragrances, this is quality, complex, but also very wearable.

Smoky, dark and animalic, but smooth, not wild. First impressions should be about raspberries rose facet, slightly kissed by cardamom. If there is, I missed it. You can expect more spicy opening than bright, juicy. Saffron trails the iris smell and makes it leathery. Strong castoreum tints the sandalwood scent, but doesn't take away santal creaminess. In this phase, I like it. Santal perfume is definitely confident, woody scent. There is no delicacy and fragility, but you can enjoy its determined, free-spirited beauty. It doesn't need to be ostentatious. You simple do know it. And enjoy it - with Santal.

Very leathery...at the beginning I get a similar glue-like note as in Ombré Leather, but it’s not unpleasant. I think cardamom is responsible for that. As the cardamom tones settle down, what remains is a leathery, dry, slightly animalic scent. It feels more masculine to me, or suited to a confident, successful, uncompromising woman with sharp features and a masculine energy

Cozy scent, like coming home to watching a show from the 90s while having a cup of tea & biscuits. I prefer slightly sweeter scents than this hence the rating but to anyone looking for a comforting scent, I would recommend this

it starts very similar to santal 33 le labo, but then after some time becomes quite powdery, floral? and feminine. i don’t really like it in general and especially given how different this vibe is from the start note
