Opal Drip

They had leftovers of this on KKW and if not many folks wanted it at 27 bux then who's gonna buy it at $90-$270 a piece? haha Isn't that annoying with discontinued items on reselling sites. Ok, I am not complaining, though it seems like every company has decided to create their own version of popular types of scents, using various different blends that result in the same or similar perfume, whether that is Mon Paris (not long ago VS came out with Tease Candy Noir as if we needed more clones of that), La Vie Est Belle or Good Girl (see how many clones this one has already: I want Choo, Miss Dream, Women Secret Intimate, Dhalia BBW, Coach Dreams Sunset - and I am mentioning those that I own). I am tired of smelling Cloud everywhere (and Mon Paris clones), but I love the different variations of it in the sister perfumes, esp those that smell more herbal or more ambery and balsamic than Cloud. I loved Cloud at first, it led the bandwagon when it comes to imitating BR540. I mean, trying to. I got bored of it quickly, it is too celebrity-like: overly sweet, almost syrupy thick, where at first I thought it contains almond so I liked the new twist on the BR 540 DNA. Then I discovered In The Stars which is amazing imo: so ethereal, a bit herbal, not overly sweet. Burberry Her followed, then VS Tease Creme Cloud, VS Pink Water Astrology mist (I love this one and lasts long), also VS Midnight Bloom is pretty identical to Cloud... I mean the list goes on. Also BBW Aromatherapy Cedarwood + Vanilla has the elements reminiscent of BR 540, and it is a cool-toned scent not warm, and I absolutely love this by BBW. If you like the strong cedar and amberwood of BR540, BBW's Cedarwood + Vanilla is amazing imo. An even stronger spicy, resinous balsamic amber I find in the VS Tease Creme Cloud that burns my nostrils at first - I love it tho I find it milky sweet yet bold and crude - sandalwood flower (?) heavy amber. So Opal Drip was not needed in the market...? but to me, Opal Drip has other elements in it, aside from the Cloud "coconut" vein (I mean lavender is a common note), and it is not like BR540, maybe long cousins. Certainly in the same Cloud family when I smell Opal Drip at the projection. Opal Drip has a sour and green flowery element that is not reminiscent of Cloud, it has a beautiful calming due the Oakmoss, musky resinous base and the sugar is not in your face. I am a huge fan of Oakmoss, wherever I find it (esp in Chloe Nomade). I find Opal Drip a unique variation in this congested genre. As time passes by that's when I get more of that Cloud vein that I smell from its sprayer. Personally, I love Opal Drip and I find it abit different compared to Cloud and even In the Stars (each one has different traits). With the sample I had I was quick to say next but I recalled how ethereal it smelled and bought it. It's not the overly sweet coconuty, vanilla-heavy version that Cloud is. It also has a beachy vibe going on because that's apparently what Lavender does to me..and I get that beachy vibe (like suntan lotion) from Libre which also has lavender! Drip reminds me of a light summer breeze, it does not suffocate me. I don't feel it smells cheap or metallic (in a bad way) on me. At first Opal Drip smells more sour on me than its cousins, in a good way tho, and imo it's the least sweet of all, and I detect a subtle smokiness before the drydown. It is also the most soft and discreet of all. It lasts on me 3 hours which is less than most KKW perfumes last on me. Opal Drip has the most suitable bottle for this type of scent, just like VS Creme Cloud. The bottles may remind me of eggses but they're flat on the back and sparkly.

Cloud / Baccarat family all the way (and I hate Baccarat, but like this) w/ citrus instead of the coconut in Cloud. It's mossy, heavy on the musk, and ever so slightly juicy! A fluffy, slightly "warm" cozy moss with mandarin orange peel ontop. Its cozy and earthy with freshly laundered sheets hanging in the backround. Before bed: 4 sprays, 2 on chest and 2 in crooks of elbows with some getting on my shirt. I really felt like it didn't project much, let's say 3/10 for projection, but it's a lovely skin scent that I kept getting whiffs of throughout the night! The next morning: Now that things have completely dried down, my nose is picking up a slight honey dew melon note! And yes, it did stick around even though it's faint. If you can grab it for around 30ish dollars at TJmaxx like I did, I'd definitely recommend it! I wouldn't pay up for it. Side note: I was walking towards the beach recently and swore I could smell the deer moss on the dunes (with some other coastal herb my boyfriend named, but i cant remember) , scorched concrete.....mild temperature, slightly warm sand.....this fits somehow. Maybe it's the moss.

I love Ariana Grande Cloud so after seeing people say Opal Drip smelled like Cloud I was sold. I do get the Cloud comparisons but Opal Drip smells closer to Bath & Body Works In The Stars than it does Cloud. Either way it’s absolutely gorgeous! I’ll never get sick of perfumes that have that BR540 vibe so I’m beyond happy with this perfume. I already got a few compliments and the performance is great! If you like BR540, Cloud or In The Stars then I can guarantee you’ll like Opal Drip as well.

Stunning bottle & scent.Smells quite similar to Katy Perry's Mad Love & Ariana Grande's Cloud which are both rather sweet whereas Opal Drip is less sweet but more floral.Sillage and longevity are very good, a joy to wear ❤

Right off the bat I’m reminded of Arianas cloud. But it’s more watery in the opening. Sugary dry down. I really like it I like having options close to cloud it’s my fave

this smells like a better and more complex version of cloud!! sweet sugar citrus dewy green aquatic woody scent. a safe blind buy and an easy compliment magnet

More expensive-smelling and unisex-fresh version of Ariana Grande Cloud. Has a touch of a spicy powdery feel that reminds me of an '80s/'90s woody vanilla oriental. The combination of that woody/spicy vanilla and the more aromatic androgynous watery notes honestly is reminiscent of my beloved Dior Dune. Not that this is a dupe for Dune, it absolutely isn't, not even close. But it's of the same school of thought. The opening is very zesty, an herbal and fresh citrus, and the dry down lulls into something more similar to Cloud's warm vanilla amber. I like Cloud, but it's a little cheap smelling and one-dimensional for my taste (and even Baccarat Rouge smells kinda cheap and overrated to me) this smells much more balanced and fresh. The bottle is awesome too, reminds me of those '90s freshies like Cacharel Noa, but it's incredibly difficult to fish out of the foam packaging and I got a scratch on the beautiful iridescent finish by trying to get it out of the box with a metal spoon as a last resort. I ended up just tossing the box, it's not as keepsake worthy as the Body or Jeff Leatham ones. Second favorite KKW Fragrance I tried in the sale, second to Rare Fig.

Giving me Ariana Cloud vibes for sure. I do not have Baccarat 540, but if Cloud is similar to Baccarat 540 then this is too. A little bit more earthy than cloud, less sweet, more grounded. There are green notes, but it is not 'fresh.' Like I said, it is earthy, like you are outside near a dry field. I really like this scent, and the bottle is beautiful. But I still reach for Cloud over Opal Drip, so I decided to clear it out.

This puts me in mind of a sweeter R.E.M with hints of Cloud and a dark herbal accord. Surprisingly, I didn’t notice the citrus notes up front; the lavender and herbal/floral notes stood out over the sugar. The longevity is really nice (about six hours), and it stays somewhat close to the skin. If I were to buy a bottle for myself, I’d probably use it as a casual scent for cooler weather.

This one is fkn sexy - fresh. lavender done right-I usually dislike lavender in fragrances. sweet sexy fresh. 4.5 out of 5. Legit thought of Madrid- a perfect one for those summer European holidays.

The sugar & oakmoss notes combine to make what has already been said - a dupe for Ariana Grande's Cloud. I don't detect the lavender at all (which is a good thing since I dislike it).

Will start by saying that the weak performance of KKW fragrances, they don’t last long at all, is why I won’t purchase. Received a sample vial. ...This lasts 2 Hours at the most. .....Fragrance is very sweet. Like burnt sugar. I have tried the Baccarat Rouge 540 in-store and this KKW Opal Drip reminds me of that. (Although not nearly as good as BR 540.) Seems like this one is trying capitalize on the popularity of that type of fragrance. I've not tried these yet, but people write that Ariana Grande Cloud + Cloud Intense smell like BR 540, so I would guess there will be comparisons to those as well. I had KKW Wifey and this sort of reminds me of that, but I think I like this better than Wifey. (I didn't like Wifey at all.) I don't think I'll purchase a full-size of this. The dry down seems powdery and sugary. Would consider KKW fragrances if they were better quality but it appears to be more about the bottle than what’s inside.

Just received it today, this is my first impression as I just sprayed it about 15mins ago. It smells almost exactly like Ariana Grande Cloud, but weaker. That has much better projection & longevity. I like this, but not love because I have about 5 other better quality fragrances that smell similar. Regret buying.

while it smells a lot like cloud, it smells significantly cheaper...when it dries down it has this harsh metallic scent to it which is a bit off-putting. i would 100% go with cloud its cheaper and creamier.. this one is a no for me

Get it out of the way that I completely agree with everybody who says this is near identical to cloud, and I'm feeling slightly regretful at having both in my collection. As far as the differences go, I find opal drip to be a bit cooler, and a bit less tightly wound. I can pick out a few more of the individual notes, and it sits closer to the skin than cloud. It's pretty nice and uncontroversial, but if you're thinking about spending $50+ for this one since they shut the site down, I'll say it's not worth it. Hit up your local Burlington, t.j Maxx, or Ross, and pick up a bottle of cloud for $20.

Beautiful bottle and smell. Silage and lifespan are excellent, and it's a pleasure to wear. In the beginning, it's watery. The finish is sweet. Opal Drip has a sour and green floral aspect that is not evocative of Cloud; it has a lovely relaxing effect because to the Oakmoss, musky resinous base, and sugar is not overpowering. Opal Drip is a one-of-a-kind variety in my opinion. Cloud isn't the excessively sweet coconut, vanilla-heavy variety. Drip smells far more balanced and fresher than a light summer breeze. Totally stunning!

Opal Drip is very nice. I like the packaging for this product. The fragrance is a slightly spicy powdery scent on me. I like this perfume, it lasts quite a long time for me without having to re-apply. When the end notes come in, they have a nice mossy earth tone. Like cool forest tone. Very Nice. I have many KKW fragrances. I like them.

I kind of see the bacaarat/cloud comparisons, but this is definitely more fresh than the others. The dry down is is not as strong as well, which I prefer for daily use. Selling a barely used bottle on mercari @anjalin5798

It smelled like cloud minus the plastic smell and was definitely stronger. ☁️✨ better quality compared to all the other baccarat dupes. The juice was a 10/10 the bottle was not cute at all

Very excited for this one! But frustrated that she discontinued KKW Body II because of her divorce with Kanye West and name change. Now this? Pick a story. I LOVED KKW Body II.

This smells nearly identical to Ariana Grande Cloud or REM to me. I like it better because it is not as musky as Cloud or REM. The dry down is pretty, fresh, and fruity to me.
