Cashmere Kumquat

I was looking for an Alien Essence Absolue - Alien Eau Extraordinaire blend, the best of both worlds and I found it here. I was looking to repurchase the Alien Eau Extraordinaire, but it's discontinued. This is a nice alternative that combines more elements. Using my points (I am obsessed with Korres skincare, it saved my skin), I got it for 16 bux basically. Cashmere Kumquat is like the Greek (long lost) part of Asia Minor itself, a crossroad of aromas where the mystical Anatolia and the middle east meet the western world. I smell beloved elements from various perfumes in this gem, that blend wonderfully here. The balsamic woody cashmere here with the jasmine create that Alien vibe, but without the intense sharp amber of the Aliens which always bothered me as it was too balsamic and "old lady-like". The cashmere here intensifies at the drydown, reminiscent of Alien EDT (citruses, mandarin orange, jasmine, amber, cashmeran). However, the woody, fresh, musky part of it, with all the citrus fruits stays closer to Alien Eau Extraordinaire being musky, but without smelling as "dry" (no sandalwood here) and sharp on my skin as that one. It lasts 6-7 hours on me. After 3-4 hrs I mainly get Alien Eau Extraordinaire and Essense Absolue vibes from it. Here we have the oriental "cashmere wood" which is more musky than Alien's heavy Cashmeran note (Cashmeran being extra ambery) and luckily we have no amber here, even though cashmere itself is quite ambery. So Cashmere Kumquat does not have the pungent, overly sharp amber scent that I dislike in the Aliens. The opening has an orangey sweet-sour vibe from the citrusy yet sweet kumquat and the orange-mandarin which is beautiful, and along with the cedar and almond, they create a fresh, almost milky, nutty, subtly green scent which is the essence of the perfume and very reminiscent of Marc Jacobs Perfect which has Cashmere, almond milk, cedar and rhubarb giving that similar green sweet-sour tone to it just how kumquat offers it here. The MJ Perfect vibe stays subtly throughout for me giving it a fresher nuance. The citrusy orange-almond pairing is so beautiful and I smell it even after 30 mins on my skin. I also smell a little bit of Girl of Now here from the vanilla-sweet smooth almond, cashmere, mandarin orange and orange blossom blend common in both, mainly in the fresher, citrusy, almost lactonic, almond-rich opening of Cashmere Kumquat. The orange blossom is intense in this, giving a sunny feel to it right away and intensifying the oriental vibe as it does in Girl of Now. Cashmere Kumquat stays fresh on me longer than the Aliens, and the cedar helps so much in that and to counteract any pencil shavings smell the cashmere may induce, and that's what I always disliked in Alien the EDP, the EDT which I have, and even in my beloved Alien Eau Extraordinaire which actually contained sandalwood too: the dry pencil shavings overly woody side in them (and Alien EDT smells rather stale too). I don't have that here, just cashmere's smooth woodiness. The vanilla drydown of Cashmere Kumquat is smooth and warm with the nutty almond which prompts me to recall how Alien Essence Absolue smelled: warm, rich, decadent, due to their common vanilla note, but this is much lighter since it has no actual amber, no incense, no orris and myrrh, but the vanilla does the trick here to smooth it out and remove any sharpness the jasmine/cashmere produce. Even from the opening, the vanilla is prominent with that Alien Essence Absolue nutty balsamic vibe. Moving on from the much fresher, slightly green, sweet-tart almond opening which persists for quite some time, it progressively becomes deeper, more woody and balsamic -ambery as the cashmere takes center stage, while I still detect the MJ Perfect vibe in it. The fresh yet oriental orange blossom, jasmine and cedar blend remind me of Playboy's Queen of the Game floral balsamic side, the way it is slightly powdery yet fresh with a green vibe too (from the black currant there). To me this Korres creation is more youthful than the stale Alien EDT and the heavy balsamic overly sharp Alien EDP. It is still part of the usual sweet and melancholy oriental recipe found in many perfumes like Alien (the EDT and the Eau Extraordinaire too), Girl of Now or even in Poison girl/(Fleur De Femme and Varens d'Orient Amethyst), with the added heavy rose & heliotrope of the latter. That recipe usually utilizes citrus fruits like orange and lemony scents even pineapple and unripe pear: orange/lemon - mandarin, along with almond, ambery cashmeran, orange blossom or/and jasmine. For me this is a 10/10 perfume.

I found this perfume in Greece, after I bought Aegean bronze from the same brand, the seller gave me a small sample of this and when I tried it... it made me feel elegant but not too much even in a summer day, it’s warm and Jasmine at the same time, but on my skin was perfect appropriate for the weather. I am able to feel the orange-kumquat-jasmine blend on a warm base, that is uplifting and delicious the same time. When I discovered this scent I didn’t know how alien smells like, but I tried it after and yes there are common points especially the jasmine notes but I didn’t find it the same, this fragrance is smoother and versatile.

I am OBSESSED with this, oh my god. This is Alien, but with every issue I had fixed. Seriously, it's like the perfume gods heard my pleas and answered them. It is all white floral, warm cashmere, and a burst of citrus at the beginning. I am a big fan of Alien so when I saw people saying this was similar, I was a little wary. This is 10000% better for me though, considering that this is lighter and a little fruitier, while still projecting enough to get me compliments galore. I smell like I'm your cool, mysterious neighbor who has orange trees and sunbathes in the backyard.

I wear this one very often. Its a bright, woody scent that is right up my ally. It starts off as something quite strong and synthetic, but blends nicely into something very unique and organic. I cannot compare it to Mugler's Alien as I have never smelled it, but I do smell a grape-y note that many talk about with Alien from this fragrance in the beginning—and not in a bad way! The jasmine is definitely the strongest note in this fragrance, at least on my skin. It projects moderately well but I wish it lasted longer on the skin. It definitely lasts on my clothing, however!

Oh dear I’m so in love with this. I absolutely love its smell, I also use the shower gel and the body cream. It feels creamy, luxurious and divine. It’s not a powerhouse but it is so cheap that who really cares? I keep a small vial with me and I spray it on me all the time. What a wonderful treat. I also believe that this is better than Alien. Alien turns really sour on me and it lasting power isn’t that great nowadays. So I prefer the Korres offering. Moreover Korres is such a sustainable brand and I really love their aesthetics. Huge love from me.

This perfume is dreamy. I think it might be my new signature scent for spring and summer. When I wear it I get mostly get beautiful orange blossom and jasmine with occasional cashmere and a tiny hint of vanilla. At first the jasmine can be a little strong but it eases down quickly. Momentarily this will smell like a springy, softer Alien on me but it blossoms into its own elegant scent soon after the initial Alien phase. Truly an amazing perfume, especially considering the price. Safe blind buy imo :)

I don't smell any of the citrus notes listed. To me, this reminds me of the smell of moisturiser and for that reason, I find it to be a warm clean smell, with a touch of the faintest inoffensive mango/apricot/peach. I do not smell Alien at all in this as others have mentioned. I wear this on days I don't want to smell like I am wearing perfume or making a statement, I just want to smell clean. Amazing price point means it's a safe enough blind buy, however don't be fooled by the citrus notes listed.

This feels like a softer version of Alien. In general with all Korres fragrances I've smelt so far, I've never gotten an alcohol like opening, and this goes for Cashmere Kumquat as well. It's floral but also slightly sweet on my skin, in a very elegant, almost "mature" way. You could probably wear it all year round, however it might be too soft for winter. This scent feels like lady that has it all together, inoffensive yet interesting, totally love it!

This fragrance smells so warm, soft and clean. It reminds me in some way of baby wipes or talcum powder, but it's a little sweeter and creamier, more sophisticated. I think it's very easy to wear, perfect to put on after a shower. It's not as citrus as I was expecting, but it has a creamy, clean quality. I initially got a sample of this and decided to buy a full bottle and it's been my go-to day time perfume for a few months.

Soft, warm, cozy. A beautiful, feminine scent. The citrus part fades quickly. Sweet and playful kumquat goes well together with the comforting cashmere-vanilla base. Not too sweet. There is a gorgeous, creamy chestnut undertone that binds them together. Would not classify this as gourmand, however. The wrist smells wonderful still hours later. Moderate projection is only a plus.

You can bury me in this, please. The opening is so intoxicating, makes me want to spray it every hour. I also get a nostalgic feeling from this. Citrus fades rather quickly, but cozy cashmere and warm vanilla remain. Smells like stepping into a beautiful day in Greece. Versatile as an everyday scent for year round. Longevity isn’t great but it’s an edt so that’s expected.

It smells like Alien, but soft Alien without the grape note but only for the first 15 minutes, then it turns into a silky vanilla and cashmere scent without the loudness and aggressiveness of Alien. The almond note is 👌. I'm surprised to see here that longevity is a problem for lots of people, for me it's not the case, it stays long.

Cashmere Kumquat stays on skin and clothes for ages! It opens citrusy and stays somewhat citrusy, bit gets more complex, smokey and woody as it airs out. It is edible in a way, but I wouldn't call it gourmand. Lovely scent, puts "pep in your step" 😄 ETA: It does smell quite a lot like Alien from Mugler, but better in my opinion.

Been sleeping on this brand so far, the more affordable price always made me question it a bit. But recently I bought this one and Lefko on Amazon for half the price and I was pleasantly surprised. Projection may not last long but that’s what you need in the heat. It dries down to a pleasant and powdery “body cream” skin scent.

I am honestly baffled as to why this fragrance isn’t absolutely everywhere on social media right now. It is a total hidden gem, and I am completely obsessed! To me, this is literally creamy summer in a bottle. If you want to smell unique and effortlessly like summer, stop sleeping on this one. I simply LOVE it!

I certainly get the comparison to Alien. (I have them both). On my skin Alien is screechier than this one. The drydown is so beautiful, I smell wood/jasmine with a little bit of cardamomme? The projection isn't the best but it's a cheapie so you can overspray/re-apply whenever it's needed.

I'm obsessed with cashmere and Jasmin mix so I love this! Much more softer and warmer version of Alien. Cosy like your favourite sweater but elegant. Like an expensive night cream. Very long lasting and projects nice. I didn't expect such performance for the price.

This is simply a lovely perfume. It is warm, but opens a bit fresh, it is cosy and comforting, perfect for the colder months! A soft gourmand scent. A perfect blind buy, I would say. Very easy to love this perfume and to want to buy it again and again.

Absolutely beautiful, interesting and enchanting blend. Soft, deep, slightly creamy. I love to combine this with Korres Midnight Dahlia. They complete each other nicely. Only wish is more longevity. Still love it tho <3

Reminds me of 2000's powder makeup scent, probably from the cashmere and almond. It's lovely and not pungent (EdT). Definitely a safe scent for work environment but I wish it had better longevity...

This perfume smells like a rich, expensive body lotion. It’s warm, slightly gourmand, and drips with luxury. Can not stop breathing it in. I think this might be my new signature scent!

I've been using for years in the morning as my 1st layer. You have to be greek to enjoy the combination of these notes. It's like strolling on a breezy spring night close to Easter :)

This one got me salivating everytime I wear it. Reminds me of a slushy or lollies for some reason, but it's a yes from me.

Smells luxurious like a fancy spa or hotel. It is also very comforting. I get a lot of almond in the drydown 🤍

My wife wears this perfume and I find it seductive! Clearly a feminine perfume..

Lots of Citrus in the opening, I am mostly getting orange, but tbh I dont think I know what kumquat smells like. The white florals soon accompanies the citrus and I am really enjoying that. The jasmine alongside the citrus is definitely the most prominent note, at least on my skin, making it more feminine but I could see it working for masculine frag wearers too, especially when paired with another fragrance with a masculine base. Speaking of which the base is very light, I'm mostly getting the cashmere in the base which adds a bit of 'soapiness' to it but not enough that it'd be off putting. I do wish the vanilla was stronger than the cashmere though.. Overall 4.5/6 Very sensual fragrance but in a light way, there is nothing heavy about this. I blind bought this and am definitely not regretting it. A perfect daytime everyday fragrance.

I bought this as a blind buy based on a lot of rave reviews. For me, I don't get the citrus quality I was really hoping for but rather a soft, powdery floral with a whiff of the cashmere and background of vanilla. It is overall a sweet, somewhat seductive scent, in a quiet way. This would be a great transition perfume heading into fall with a scarf/sweater and the crisper air and cooler temps. It is warm and cozy on the dry down. I haven't smelled or owned alien but I'll have to get a sample and try it out to compare. This has decent performance, but a really good price point for the size and I really love other products from this brand. It isn't my favorite scent of theirs ( i love the freesia lychee vanilla personally) but since I have it, will give it a few more goes to see if it grows on me with the changing seasons.

A perfume that smells exactly as it looks on here! It's fresh and sparkling, but also sweet and yummy. I agree with other users who described it as fairly complex and with a nutty hint. Sillage is modest, it stays close to the skin, which makes it safe for public spaces I'd say; although it doesn't last longer than 4 hours on me, it's a lovely fragrance and it gets me many compliments :)

Overall very likeable. Silky and smooth. The almond note in here is lovely and is made more lively with some fruity sweetness. However the vanilla in the base is too thick and heavy for me, I wish the citrus notes were more impactful with an edge of sour sparkle. VERDICT: If we could tone down the bass and turn up the treble, this would go from a like to a love.

I don't know what kumquat smells like but this perfume smells like beautiful orange with the almond and vanilla in the background. The cashmere note makes sense as this is not a sharp citrus fragrance but very soft and warm. Longevity is decent..about 4hrs or so but this is an EDT, so that's not bad at all. Beautiful fragrance, perfect for the fall season :)

i thought this one was more peppery initially, but it had a wonderful roundedness, an airiness, slight powdery lavendery edges, a lovely scent. cashmere is an ideal name for it. feels smooth like cashmere. kumquat - im unsure but probably. i can see why people have put alien as a similar scent - i think this is lighter and not as dense as alien

Alien’s softer, citrus cousin. Where Jasmine is the singular white floral in Alien, the addition of orange blossom here tempers it and blends seamlessly with the Kumquat. The creamy base of wood and vanilla take this fresh-floral-citrus and cozy it up enough to wear year round

So nice, have to over apply for it to last to the dry down which is gorgeous , warm, vanilla, a little powder. Very good price point but the compromise is to over apply a bit and wait. The reward is worth it though. One of the best Korres fragrances currently available.

Bought this fragrance hoping for a nice citrusy sweet kumquat, but I was pleasantly surprised with its complexity. The cashmere note makes this perfume extra cozy. I mostly get nutty and cashmere from this fragrance.

Nice and cheap, not a risky blind buy and a easy reach in the morning. Definitely recommend it even if it’s not ground breaking. Kind of a staple basic if you like the note Last on the skin and the clothes

This was an online blind buy. So glad I bought it. A smell for all seasons, day and night. An addictive, mouth watering smell, loving the kumquat.

Lovely orange woody scent. It smells high-quality & natural to me. I could honestly see this scent working at any time during the year.

It definitely smells like a sophisticated person. I imagine a business woman wearing this in her office.

I was tempted by cashmere. However, I got an Alien dupe. Many people in the comments say that it reminds them of Mugler Alien and I must say this is the closest scent copy I have ever smelled. The only advantage here is the price. So if you cannot splurge on Alien, Korres is an amazing option for you (plus it actually advertises itself as a natural perfume, so should that be the truth, it is indeed a great deal!). Also, I like the bottle much more than Mugler's. My first Alien bottle malfunctioned all the time (the acutator). So, it is neither good nor bad, it is just Mugler's Alien. I like Alien, hence I bought Alien. No need for a dupe.

Going to Greece for my honeymoon, and wanted to find something perfect to have there. Got samples of chosen scents, this one grabbed me at first, but the more I smell it, the more I remember what it reminds me of and it’s L’interdit. Hard pass. The notes on here don’t really make me think of that at first.

I have never tried anything from Korres but this looked interesting so I ordered a sample. I feel this smells exactly Benetton Hot to me. Young person skin scent with no projection. I would give it a skip as far too basic for cashmere, nothing really stands out. Not a safe blind buy.

No kumquat, not a drop. I barely detect any citrus and that burns off in a breath. No almond anywhere. Is this a joke? Are the notes listed here wrong? On me this smells just like a watered-down Alien. Review of foolish full bottle blind-buy.

Alien but lighter. Great alternative as loreal has quite frankly ruined the alien I once wore and loved. This is a great one at a much better price point.

This was an impulsive online buy for me for half the price after i smelled it once in the store. I don't know why I liked it so much in the store as now that I have it I hate it. I'm a sucker for unique scents the combination of non-fresh fruity kumquat with the powdery leathery cashmere was so good (but too much jasmine) - and then I realized that I don't really like powdery perfumes, or even cashmeran or jasmine for that matter. It's a really clean scent, good for offices and daytime wear, especially during spring I'd say. It's sophisticated, but just not a scent for me. The kumquat note probably sold me, but it disappears pretty quickly and leaves so. much. jasmine. on a cashmerey-musky bed. I spray it on my clothes every now and then to see if maybe I magically changed my mind and like it now but it just got worse, if the scent gets on my clothes I have to change them and I wash the perfume off my skin because I just cannot sit with it. It seems to project really well, but as I can't wear it, I don't know if the sillage/longevity(good riddance) is good.

So after I saw this perfume recomended somewhere and read the reviews saying it was a safe blind buy, I decided to oder it online when it was on sale. When I took a whiff before spraying I got a lot of the almond note, which I loved. I got really excited and sprayed it on. And I was hit with a few different things, after which it settled on SO MUCH jasmine. This perfume is just pure jasmine to me, I barely get any other notes. And since I’m very new to the perfume world I didn’t know this, but I learned that I really don’t like jasmine 😭. Which is a shame because all the other notes sound so good, and the initial almond that I smelled was sooo nice. I would really recommend finding out if you like white floral notes before you try this. If you like jasmine perfumes this is probably perfect for you. It smells like a nice powdery jasmine with a bit of what I guess is the kumquat (not sure). I think this is either a fall or spring perfume. But sadly it just isn’t for me!

Had it for a while, so maybe my bottle is a bit older but I’ve realised I’ve started to hate it now. When I first spray it, all I get is a strong stringent citrus, which does choke me out. When it says “orange” I expected something fruity, but instead I just get a floral with some cleaning chemicals. Since it’s now my bedtime perfume (trying to finish the bottle 😔) I’ve noticed it doesn’t last the entire night (understandable), and that the last notes in the morning are very nice. By that point it becomes a “skin scent” and that’s tolerable. If you want a sharp citrus which fades eventually, and becomes a boring floral, this might be a good everyday, however it is not worth $80 for 50ml at Mecca anymore.

Love it. Warm-citrus, not cold-citrus (like cleaning spray). Suits cold and warm weather (light and sweet in the warmth, and cosy during the cold), but I feel like you do have to re-apply. Wore it out once and it did last a few hours, but after that the sillage was very intimate.

I received a tester for this scent and all I get is the top orange note, after that fades it just smells like powder to me. Like you just changed a baby's diaper and put fresh powder on them. I dislike this one. All Korres fragrances seem to fade away extremely quickly.

I dislike this perfume. It smells like something more suitable for teenagers than adults. There is no sweetness or depth at all, just an extremely clean powder scent. Very intimate and very short lived, despite claiming to be an EdP.

I hated this on my wrist. It smelled weird and the kumquat is like a fantasy note that hurt my stomach. Yuck!!
