Vetiver Root

Lasting power about 4-5 hrs on me. Update: The more I wear this, I realize how unisex it smells on me and I reach for it more often than my feminine perfumes because of how fresh it is. I sense that amber-y balsamic woody suntan lotion vibe right away and at the drydown it intensifies. It is a suntan lotion scent similar to the Versace Crystal Noir and to my surprise, my nose did not trick me as Crystal Noir also contains cardamom and amber, so it explains it! I had no idea cardamom contributes to a suntan lotion type of scent. The opening is heavy on the fresh bergamot and the cold lavender, very masculine and macho at first, and the vetiver quickly even from the opening unleashes its power with a smoky woody and peppery earthy scent (not as spicy as patchouli). The green tea in the opening gives a refreshing aroma, very realistic and unisex on my skin. At first the drydown is also pretty masculine from the lavender and the balsamic amber, along with the lack of feminine notes, just the cardamom's subtle sweet herbal spice and the tobacco-sweet tonka which smells amazing from the start. The amber lends a sour balsamic tone to it as in the case of BBW Ivory Cashmere resembling cigarette smell to me a bit (amber and white amber do that). The green bergamot with the amber-y lavender made me conclude that this is a manly scent like a cologne, but out in the open air it smells more unisex-herbal right from the start, while the lavender isn't as masculine and the woody tonka sweetness is greatly amplified. This is why I love wearing this when I am out in nature for many hours. The lavender slowly becomes softer and allows the cardamom to shine so this could be loved by women who like balsamic, woody earthy/herbal natural scents. The vetiver quickly becomes more prominent smelling even smokier, but also a lot more ambery like burnt plastic or tires for a second, reminiscent of how BBW Wild Sand smells, smoky and ambery, minus the cactus/pear sour tone of that one (this burnt smell bothers me in Wild Sand, but not here lol). The cardamom develops more early at the drydown, and the tonka quickly lends a tobacco-like sweetness which develops more later on and it instantly makes the "burnt tire" smell of the vetiver/amber attractive lol. As the burnt vetiver smoky smell fades, the vetiver root becomes greener and plain woody/earthy without any smokiness while the tonka intensifies and it really adds that deep, creamy, woody sweetness, balsamic by the amber which makes this scent sweet enough for me and reminiscent of the suntan lotion smell I reported above. It is also quite similar to the woody balsamic amber-heavy Devil's Advocate by Iggy. The lavender is intense and manly, but I suppose it pairs well with the cardamom intensifying that suntan lotion vibe I am getting, just as in Libre YSL but the green tea here tones it down so it doesn't resemble Libre to me, also due to the earthy-tobacco sweet vetiver/tonka. Many men's colognes have strong amber which smells like sweat on me, luckily I don't have that here aside from a subtle sour cigarette smell. After 40 mins on my skin the lavender is about to leave the party and hooray I am happily left with the sweeter elements, the cardamom's sweet herbal spice with some freshness from the tea, and the woody sweet tonka. The balsamic peppery vetiver-amber are the main masculine remnant of this sexy dude of a fragrance. The tonka becomes more creamy, but the amber stays sour with the earthy vetiver reminiscent of Iggy's Devil's Advocate patchouli-amber vein but a lot milder - I tend to dislike patchouli paired with amber. The vetiver btw is not dusty as in Rare Fig by KKW, I am very glad about that. In my mind pirates would smell like that lol. Iggy's Devil's Advocate smells very woody amber-y spicy and manly too, but sweeter by the vanilla orchid. I prefer this one for the tonka cardamom fresh/herbal woody sweetness and the lack of patchouli. Somebody below said that Greeks love cardamom, oh yes we do. I adore cardamom even with sugared notes as in the BBW Vanilla Romance or in Orebella Nightcap. In KKW Nude Soleil it's paired with the mahlab-resembling solar ambrette giving a herbal sweet aroma, and it's my fav cardamom perfume, similar to BBW Lost in Santal and Le Monde Gourmand's Santal Supreme, even tho they don't list cardamom for that last one. I also love cardamom in BBW Together Weather even though it is not very suitable there, it acts like a herbal tea fresh note only more aromatic and it's paired with the sugared cooked fruit vibe, quite the unexpected fresh contrast! Here the cardamom is surrounded by the masculine cold lavender, the green earthy smoky vetiver and the balsamic amber-tonka. Cardamom's subtle sweetness goes well with the tonka and that's the reason I bought this.

First of all, it's a 'love'. The name compelled me to spontaneously order it, and now, after having it for over a month wearing it with some frequency, I've grown to love it. It's a bit opaque, a bit of a 'blob' of scent, but I happen to love that here; it's what is charming about it. We all bring our own associations to the table with fragrances, and for me Vetiver Root falls in between a 70's hippie scent (the amber - even with the absence of patchouli or incense), and old fashioned soapy on the other hand. The great thing about VR is that out is both those things at the same time! Suggesting the heaviness of a headshop essential oil, but never actually going there. And being pharmacy soapy clean without being that simple. It's a keeper for me. I tried the Black Pepper sample it came with, but I found that generic and uninteresting.

Not sure about the name as I get very little vetiver, but it is beautiful. I smelled ysl la nuit and its very much similar to that, feels even more smooth and kinda gives luxury soap, I would say pretty unisex. I would call it cardamom not vetiver... It doesnt project, it has no sillage even in the opening, noone is gonna smell it of you unless they are on you. But you will ocassionally take a whiff and its divine, I will wear this for me when I am alone at home. Even if I bathe in it I get about 4 Hours of skin scent then it fades to absolute nothing, it doesnt last on clothes and it smells way better on skin with my chemistry. Love it, First Korres I tried and immediately bought another 2 from that house

Nice sweeter kind of scent that is similar to Guerlain's L’Homme Ideal (2014) but somewhat less sweet so more towards the L’Homme Ideal Intense. On my cotton T-shirt it is and remains sweet, on my hand it is sweet at first which disappears to half and becomes more woody.

Very pleasant warm sexy scent, green tea notes soften spiciness. Could be unisex. Safe buy. Korres Blue Sage has the same DNA with more sporty notes of mint and lime, definitely for him. I recommend both.

I bought this one as an experiment, I was really curious based on all the descriptions. I expected it to be more masculine, but it's fine. It's soft, subtle but interesting, it's a great buy.

This is a very smooth silky sexy la nuit de l'homme dupe guys, i think its actually a bit creamier, love it and actually prefer it over lndl parfum which was the one i had, 7/10

As a woman who appreciates men's cologne, I must say that I've found a captivating and female-friendly counterpart in this perfume. Its journey on the skin is quite fascinating. Initially, it embraces a distinctly masculine scent, setting a bold tone. However, as time passes, it gracefully evolves into something sweeter yet retains its aromatic and warm essence, invitingly wrapped in subtle floral notes. What I find particularly enchanting about this fragrance is its ability to strike a harmonious balance between cleanliness and spice. The opening notes give a refreshing, clean impression. Yet, as it unfolds, a subtle undercurrent of spice begins to emerge, adding depth and complexity to the overall composition. The dry-down is where this perfume truly shines. It maintains an inviting warmth, making it a perfect companion for both daytime (during colder seasons) and evening wear. The sweetness that emerges is never overpowering; instead, it lingers delicately, leaving a memorable and intriguing trail in its wake.

I bought this as a blind buy since I enjoy Korres as a brand in general and found it at a really good price for a full bottle. I was afraid maybe this would lead a bit too masculine but after the initial dry down, I am getting a bit more of a woody, lavender floral softened by vanilla but a bit more on the spicy and mysterious side. Initial spray was a little stronger leaning towards masculine fragrance with a hit of green tea and bergamot but this evolves really nicely on the skin. It is a bit of a bolder fragrance lending better to cooler weather, perfect for fall or winter. This fragrance gives me a bit of a dark academia/witchy/vamp vibe while still maintaining a fresh cleanliness about it. While this may not be a top pick for all women, I really enjoy it and do think this could easily be unisex.

Korres Vetiver root: I found this fragrane on a whim in Croatia, while I was buying wine for dinner I stumbled upon Croatian DM. They were having mid season sale on perfumes, then I knew Korres for their skincare, not for perfumes. So I picked up this flacon and start spritzing it like crazy, thinking that for something so cheap in sales it should be mild and forgettable. Well it is the quite opposite, its strong, peppery, warm and definitely unisex, more leaing to the manly side. First you can smell red pepper and black currant, with fresh coniferous tree, heavilly on the coniferous tree, fresh pine mashed up, something like that. Then as it opens, its still spicy and warm but with mulled wine notes. It is STRONG and at amazing price point, complex summery witty.

this scent is a bit warm-woodier than ... Avgustos.. again leans clean, i think opens more male, not heavily male though. they mean unisex with this collection. aromatic, more woody vetiver than rounded aromatcs, really nice. clean, woody, airy

Α pleasant, vintage barber shop in Smyrna kind of smell... This one def has some Blue Sage Lime FirWood DNA in it yet, it's a little bit more refined and sophisticated. It opens strong and bitter with some cardamom and Bergamot. The intensity of the green tea comes forward and brings an unexpected balance. The middle tones come forward using the sweet spicy cardamom as a bridge (that's what I don't particularly like). Vetiver root is also there but its earthy tones are undermined by the power of the spicy cardamom and vintage lavender. And then the core notes; the previous sweetness gets a little bit more enhanced by the otherwise warm and heavy amber, the tonka beans add to that warmth and come out (again) as nutty and sweet yet, I could use some of their herbaceous features. Overall it's a pleasant smell, a bit to heavy, spicy and sweet for my own taste. Interesting yet not well balanced. I had high hopes since the tea in the opening notes brought that freshness and green features but in the end the spices and sweetness won. Mind you, when I tested it on a paper strip it seemed more balanced and fresh than when it dried down on my skin. Duration wise, it's good I guess... The scent goes away eventually (after 2-3 hrs) but I wouldn't suggest using bigger amounts than usual- tends to get a bit headache-y. It's def not a summer scent (I did that mistake), I would preferably wear it casually, on a autumn afternoon walk.

I usually like vetiver perfumes, but this is a different kind of vetiver scent; it’s not bad, but it’s not good either.

I blind-bought this when I was looking for some interesting vetiver fragrance that would satisfy me. Unfortunately, I ended up returning it. To me it smells like some classic aftershave that an older men would wear while not caring much for the smell of it...

wearing this today and thinking about how it’s my best friend’s signature scent and how by association that makes it one of my faves hehe i think it’s a kind of confirmation bias but it also reminds me so much of my time in athens. maybe greeks love a cardamom note in their bath products? bc when i smell it i’m distinctly reminded of various hotel bathrooms, of taking a delirious jet-lagged shower. it’s warm and blended in a way were no notes stick out to me in particular, instead they coexist in a comforting hum

From the first spray itself, the cardamom is quite prominent. The bergamot offers a citrus-y tone that goes well with it. I feel like it reminds me of these specific elaichi biscuits you get when you to go to India, as the cardamom is kind of sweet. Smells sweet (like those biscuits), fresh, and kind of woody. Will say I don't get any strong lavender notes. But overall this is probably my favourite out of this brand, it smells so nice and I feel like it would do well in the cold, as well as warm weather.

Reminiscent of la nuit de l'homme, but not a clone. A sweeter, cheaper smelling version of it, with very poor longevity and sillage. Not a bad scent by any means, it has an alcohol strong opener with a vanilla/cardamom drydown. Ok bang for the buck, but don't expect ysl quality.

Basically a clone of La Nuit De L’Homme, closer to Blue Electrique in the dry down (I own both), and somehow worse performance than both of those. Smells great obviously but just get the YSLs unless cost is an issue since this is cheaper.

To the Fragrantica team or to whoever put the notes up: with all do respect, the notes are clearly displayed on the bottle and somehow they still don't correspond to the notes on Fragrantica. How and why? 🤔

This smells as if you rolled two Penhaligon’s fragrances in one: Lothair and Endymion. Herbal and complex. Masculine-leaning but unisex enough for a woman to wear.
