Tang Hulu

it smells exactly like strawberry and grape tanghulu! I smell the fruits and the burnt caramelized sugar, and I can almost feel the crunch of it in my mouth. It's bright, sweet and delicious with a just a little bit of funk (probably from osmanthus) that adds depth to the scent. I think it would be a really fun and heart-warming wear in the colder months!

This fragrance is so fun, sparkly, and gently sweet. I really enjoy the combination of the citrus and berries! It makes the scent feel so uplifting and is absolutely perfect for spring days. KST fragrances last a really nice amount of time on my skin and have intimate to moderate projections. Fantastic house!

Hey there strawberry! One of the most vivid and realistic strawberry notes I have ever encountered. It is quite aggressive, but I am not mad about it! She’s here for a good time! Syrupy and floozy, this is like singing with your friends while walking back from the bar. Macerated strawberry wine.

I feel like the strawberry note assaulted me. If that were dialed back it is a hyper realistic strawberry note but at the level it is in the perfume it goes incredibly screechy and almost synthetic? Weird. Initially I hated this one, I feel like this house in general is polarizing for me. I love some frags and some repel me. I don’t know if it’s the concentration of the strawberry accord in this or what it is but it was really hard for me to wrap my head around it. Based on the reviews it sounds like it is a polarizing one in general. I tried it again with strawberry in mind and I feel like I can appreciate what it’s trying to do but for me it doesn’t do it. Sacrilege I know but I’m considering diluting this one with perfumers alcohol and seeing if that is the issue because otherwise i really want to love this one.

I would like to preface this by saying I had very high hopes, and other scents like the Rice scents and even Durian, wore quite well. This is a good example of skin pH varying widely, as the initial spritz was beautiful - fruity and sweet, with the mandarin standing out standing out against the osmanthus background which you can’t quite detect up close. The floral moves with the breeze. This sweetness quickly revealed a piss-like odour underneath within the next minute. It has been around 10 minutes since and it’s still front-and-centre. I’m hoping it goes away as it dries down. I’m not quite sure what went wrong, perhaps the sugar note doesn’t quite agree with me. Orange and osmanthus are in other perfumes which wear beautifully (Le Labo Bigarade, Essential Parfums Orange Santal, Hermes Osmanthe Yunnan etc etc). And don’t get me wrong, I do love a bit of a naughty funk like Sadonaso, but somehow the chemical reaction between my skin and Tanghulu is giving portapotty at a rave. I will try again however, and fingers crossed I’ve just had a bad-hormone day.

Strawberry body odor, not kidding

One of my favorites from KST, it captures the joy of tang hulu, sweet juicy fruits glazed with caramelized sugar. It opens with mandarin, grape, & strawberry followed by that delicious cooked sugar. Super realistic and fun!

There is a sweet, playful innocence to this scent! It smells sugary in a granulated way, with bright cheerful fruit! An easy fragrance to love!
