Oud Cardamome

Great and under-discussed brand. Does this remind of Interlude Man? Sure, but don’t call it a clone when it’s an upgrade in every way - less piercing and cloying, this is a beautiful and nose-dazzling mix of high-quality ingredients. Toning down that aggression makes it more unisex, and for me more wearable and enjoyable in all situations. Cheaper to boot! It’s like a modern chef deconstructing a familiar dish ... each element is there but elevated, presented in a different light to make you rethink what you took for granted. Is this plate of wagyu tartare with truffle-mustard foam a “burger”? Call it what you want, if it’s amazing and it costs less, count me all the way in. Similar to Hacivat’s improvement on Aventus, this takes a much-hyped fragrance I never much cared for and refines it to the level of must-have.

If an oud and tobacco combination is your kind of thing, this is well worth exploring. It's suitably rich and warm. Longevity and projection are very good, and it's reasonably priced considering the quality. Unisex, though leaning to masculine.

On a scale of 1 through pungent, how spicy do you like your spices? If your magic number is 5 and below, then you will probably not be fond of this perfume. This fragrance is a dark sparkler. Although this doesn't share the same persistence as the Amouage giant(Interlude), it has the umph of McCormick and Company. No doubt the spices here are omnipresent and very lively if you will. The oregano extends and outstretches the aromas to the point where it actually lays over the bed of patchouli creating a gloomy woody accord. The smoke and labdanum are assembled together in which the smolder slides throughout the heart before being swept into the background. As the smoke settles into the backdrop, the accord becomes one with the tobacco creating a one two punch of sequenced aromas. Oud Cardomome is too deceiving to be a Doppelganger but tricky enough to be considered a flanker.

Just sprayed this on, and yeah, it's basically a clone of Interlude Man - at least in the opening. Lemme see how it develops..
